Dying to Grow: Reclaiming the Heart for Evangelism in the Church

Rate this book
Never before have we seen the church degenerate at such a rapid pace. This is largely due to the church pursuing congregational growth instead of kingdom growth. The church is dying because our growth isn’t based on strategies to reach the lost with the gospel. The time to change is now, we can’t wait any longer. People’s eternities are at stake. What is your church’s priority? Are you more concerned with filling your building or furthering the Kingdom? This book will challenge you to evaluate just how important gospel-based evangelism is to you and your church, and call on you to restore an intentional evangelism strategy within the body. Hell will tremble when churches once again make evangelism the central theme of their strategy. About the AuthorDr. Nathan Lorick is the Director of Evangelism for the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. I will throw this in the category of books saying we need to do more evangelism. I have read too many similar books, all roughly saying the same thing. I agree with them all. We need to do more evangelism. We need to be better disciples and better at creating them. We need to do better at bringing people into the Church and teaching the fullness of what it means to be a Christian.

There are a whole lot of lukewarm believers out there who cannot be bothered to actually pursue righteousness and their Savior. Was it poor discipleship that has left them this way? That is a question I have read another dozen books on that all say roughly the same thing.

If you have not read a bunch of books on this topic already, you will enjoy this one. If you have already covered this ground many times, you will not find much novel here.
