This is the second book in the That Man series by Nelle L'Amour
Another good book to this series, we get to see Jennifer struggling with the aftermath from the last book and the terror she was left with, we also get to feel heartbreak for the characters and feel the passion they have for each other.
Jennifer and Blake are amazing, Nelle definitely built some strong characters and storyline here, looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
I'm so frustrated!!!!! I only continued this series due to the cliffhanger. Well, that was disappointing! Why didn't he want to kick the guys butt?!?!? Story continued to drag. Vegas was a bust. Jennifer is so naive. Then when story heats up... doesn't long at all. So frustrating. Story needs more excitement!!!!!!!
Ugh!! Now I need book 3.. I mean C'mon after the way he fucks her I'm left with wtf no more? Please hurry up and give me more. I just want more of this sexy god!! And yes thank you for letting me re live the naughty Mafia book signed through your book.... Amazing
OMG Blake is a hoot - I love his sense of humor. He is just a fun loving super sexy man - goodness I want to take him away.
Jennifer is so unsure of everything, has been so sheltered and DIckwick was a dumbass that she gets in her own - no fault of her own, but at times I'm like, come on Jenn...
Why did he have to go and video tape....I hope this doesnt come back to bite him in the ass later on. This book picks up right where the first one left off which is great. I didnt have to get a few chapters in to find out what happened in that climatic moment! The characters are developing nicely and the writing is easy to read and follow. Blake is giving Jennifer even more authority, although we know she is really good at what she does I think he is doing it more so because he is hoping to score some brownie points with her. I love the gay friend Chaz. Everyone needs one of them in their lives. I am ready to dive into the next book to find out what happens with this push and pull.
I recommend this book so much it sexy, funny and heart felt I love it so much I’m going to spread the word through all my social media sites. Nelle has done it again she sucked me in the first chapter. I read both books in one day that’s how good it is the money was well worth it.
Tiger aka Jennifer was in for a up and down ride with her emotions and physically when it comes to Mr. Boss Man aka Blake. She can’t keep him out of her mind no matter what she did but she tried to by reminding herself about her fiancé and he is a player. When she sees him out she always sees him with those blonde bimbos. Even though her relationship with her fiancé is always about him he never showed any love toward her. I can’t believe she didn’t see signs when things were going bad because her mind is always on sexy ass Blake. You thought I was groping to tell what happens with her relationship no-no you have to read to find out even though you can tell the signs in the first couple chapters.
Blake on the other hand also can’t keep his mind off of his Tiger that’s what he calls her. He’s feeling emotions he’s never felt before like jealousy and protection. He likes spending time with her can’t wait to see her in the morning this he never cared for. They laugh together she cared for him and they had real conversations and she actually eats real food. He will do everything in his power to try to get her but he gets set backs because of the bimbos but he hasn’t touched one in along time it felt for him. But when he gets his chance to get her he stops at nothing to get her or does he.
So I can’t wait for book 3 it can’t come fast enough, so I recommend this to every romance novel reader out there. It’s so well written you just have to read it money well worth it.
I really enjoyed this book the story started where the last finished the story is funny happy an sad I feel sorry 4 Jen sometimes she is so confused with her feelin 4 Blake an then he is so sexy no women can take there eyes of him I luv how the story went wish it was longer didn't want 2 put it down i m dyin 2 know what happens next in this trilogy can't wait 4 the next 1 xxx
With how the way that book 1 ended I was wondering how the story would progress. Boy was I not disappointed!! We knew that Blake was coming to the rescue but what transpires between them from this point is lovely. I must admit to feeling frustrated with Jennifer in this book, she clearly has feelings for Blake and the disinterest that her fiancé is showing should be a clear indication that something is wrong….
With the focus groups for the mini-series that Jennifer is championing being held in Vegas the phrase what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas could hold some promising situations! Alas no, they hold the focus groups for women that love erotica/romance novels (although I was a bit worried that the hardcore ladies read 4 or more a month, I read 4 or more a week!), have a bit of a gamble and have a go at drunken karaoke (oh I suppose that this part should stay in Vegas!). Jennifer during this trip is insanely jealous of all the female attention that Blake gets and things come to a head when she finds him by the pool.
By things coming to a head I mean that Blake decides to come clean as to who he is, That Man (or how Blake is thinking of himself thatman (replace t with a b and you’ll get the idea)). Things may have happened with Jennifer’s fiancé too, Bradley but you’ll have to read the story to find that part out.
I loved Blake in this one and his family are fantastic. I can’t wait to see what happens after all the events in this book, will they get together in the end, will those with a grudge get in the way and if so what will they do? Yup, you get the idea that I’m a bit excited for the final instalment!!
Please note that I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
At the End of THAT MAN 1 i was gripping my bed sheets like no ones business (and not in a good way) shouting in my head (so not to wake the other half) "Come on...you can NOT leave it there Nelle"
I was so glad when Nelle gave the release date of THAT MAN 2 cuz i seriously needed to know what happened.
The Story between Blake and Jennifer is such a frustrating one, i kept thinking "get it on already" but i liked the way Nelle played it out and left us frustrated with need for these 2 to get together....
The little under the breath comments they each make, made me laugh and when they did finally do the horizontal mumbo (well not so much horizontal) i was upset with Blake for taking her to what he himself would call his "Fuck pad" tut tut Blake....but he realized that it was a mistake so i can forgive him for that lol
I also enjoyed how Nelle bounced back and forth from the Character POV....and how she made sure we knew who's POV it was at the start of the chapter...Nelle's way of writing is flawless, she explains everything so clearly to the point you can vision the scene....can hear the music and pretend you are almost there with them.
I also ADORE the fact that Nelle included Gloria and Jaime Zander in the book but it didn't take away the story of Blake and Jeniffer...and can i just add, OMG i LOVE Blakes Grandmother, she is awesome such a funny lady and i hope she makes an appearance in Book 3.
Thank you so much for the kind Gift Nelle L'Amouryou were right it DID cheer me up, Thank you so much my sweet friend xxxx
Part two of That Man picks up right where part 1 ended. Blake hears Jennifer's screams and arrives just in time to see the producer, Don Springer, assaulting her. He grabs him, and fires him. He has no problem shutting down production of Wheel of Pain and cancelling the torture show.
"No problem. No show. It's cancelled. Get the hell out of here."
Blake's protective instincts are on over drive with Jennifer. He needs to step up his game for Operation Dickwick to get her fiancé out of the picture. He is more determined than ever to make Jennifer or Tiger as he calls her, all his. His friend, Jamie Zander had offered some advice, eliminate the competition. His wheels are turning.
As coincidence would have it, Blake is grabbing a quick meal at a restaurant when who should come but Bradley and his amply breasted dental assistant. Not one to squander an opportunity, Blake takes advantage of the situation.
The Christmas party brings lots of merriment and cheer for these two. Hot, heavy, steamy, on the wall, on the floor, everywhere steam!
"Let's forget this ever happened." "Tiger, how can you say that?" " I just got out of one bad relationship. I don't need to start another -especially with my boss."
What is Bradley up to? What will Jennifer's reaction be? Will Blake's hard work pay off?
Jennifer and Blake are finding themselves more and more attracted to one another. Jennifer is remaining loyal to her fiancé although it is becoming clear to her that he is not a good match for her. As the intensity of their attraction grows, Blake tries to think of ways to get her fiancé out of the picture so that he can have a chance with her. Jennifer continues to feel obligated to her relationship with her fiancé, and nervous about crossing lines of professional conduct with her boss even though she continues to have a strong attraction to Blake. A weekend in Vegas, and a new revelation causes Jennifer to re-think everything.
This picks up right where we are left after the first installment. The alternating POVs are interesting and help us get to know both main characters. There is all kinds of drama going on, but in the context of these characters' jobs and lives it feels real. Blake is hotter than ever, and it is clear that he and Jennifer need to make something happen. He keeps showing himself to be more than he seems, and the chemistry between these two characters is sizzling hot. I enjoyed this book a lot and will be moving immediately to the next in the series.
*An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.
Blake is your usually drop dead gorgeous man whore, who is also beyond rich. Jennifer, at first appears to be meek & mild but there's an underlining feistiness about her. They both work together for a raunchy television network called SIN-TV, which Blake owns. Jennifer is coming in with fresh ideas and frankly I wish this concept were real - it's brilliant. There is an obvious attraction between these two, but there are roadblocks preventing anything to happen. Cliffhanger ending of course but easy access to books 2 & 3. Amazing read if the rest of the books in the series are like the first it will most definitely be one of the best books I've read this year. Book 2 was more of the chase. There's danger lurking, but that doesn't come to a head until book 3. There is an incredible hot juicy sex scene. Sad ending. Book 3 they both mope for a bit then their fight kicks in. Blake is on his game with operation win Jenn over. Things between them heat up fast. The sex scenes are hot & spicy. Nothing can last forever, and their happy bubble pops. I think Jenn is being ridiculous but when she figures that out it might be too late. Fabulous ending.

"Having a big cock came with both benefits and baggage. Okay, mostly benefits."
What a story. Blake is trying so hard to get Jennifer, but she continues to push him away. It amazed me how Springer trapped Jennifer and no one tried to stop him out of all the people there, but it is what it is. Thank goodness for Blake. Why doesn't Jennifer see it for wha it is. Poor Blake. Then the entire Vegas thing. GAWD...why can't see open her eyes. But when she is at the pool, I can see what she think she see, but damn, he is so much sex on legs who could not be attracted to him. Then how it was so wonderful how Dickwick feel into the booth so close with Candy...lol! Loved the holiday party set up. That was awesome. But the best thing of all was the gift exchange between the two, how he gave her the best gift of all, "The Kiss" which was so special on so many levels to both of them. HOW DOES SHE NOT OWN UP TO IT!!! UGH!!! I just hate how it ended... again. Sheeze! I can't wait to read the next book.
**ARC**received for a honest review. Newly engaged Jennifer is out celebrating her new job with her friends who love to play games... This night it's "Truth or Dare". Being blindfolded, her dare is to kiss that man across the bar. Now she can't forget that man or that kiss. Player and Boss, Blake just meets his new assistant and there is something that is drawing him in. Thinking its just another future conquest, he hopes that things will go back to his normal - one night of wild meaningless sex. But for some reason he can't forget her.... "That Man 1" is just the start of this boy Chase girl / sexual chemistry story. "ThatMan2" starts right where the cliffhanger from 1 left off. Again the sexual tension is strong and Jennifer is still engaged to the ever absent Bradley. I read both That Man 1 & That Man 2 together and glad I did. Not a fan of short - novella type stories but this made it into a regular novel length. Still left with a cliffhanger but look forward to #3.
I am so loving this new series!! Blake saves Jen from the major cliffhanger in book 1. He now realizes that he really has true feelings for her. Jen is noticing more and more that her fiancée, Bradley keeps working late and doesn't even call her. She is also having these feelings for Blake. Blake goes full force with Operation Dickwick, lol. There were so many situations in this book that were so hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing. There were some pretty darn hot sex scenes too. With a lot of misunderstandings and Jen's trust level going down, she just is so unsure of how to progress further with Blake, stating that he is her boss!! And that is where part 2 leaves us. We will need to read the last book to see how it all goes down. I could say so much more about this book but it would give away too much of the story and you just need to read the book!! I am anxiously waiting for That Man 3. I was gifted this book by the author for an honest review.
~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review Team~
This is the 2nd in a series of 3 books and it was a great continuation. This book picks up right where the first left off. Blake sent Jen on a crappy assignment feels bad and goes to see how it is going and ends up saving her from a horrible situation. Jen still with Bradley her fiancé, is still lusting after her hot boss who is a player. Blake takes his best friends advice and sets off to prove that Bradley is a jerk and Jen deserves more. Blake always gets what he wants and he wants Jen….BAD. A trip to Vegas for work leads to winning some money, winning over the boss for the new schedule line up and then a few fireworks.
Characters: well written, likable and easy to relate to
Again I was given this book by the author for an honest review.
I found this book a lot better than the last. It's nice to be part of this developing relationship. I found this story more realistic and could relate to the developments. Love the twist, in the attempted rape, could just imagine the horror, and the fowl situation of this. Lovely she was saved by her hero.!!!!, not sure why she has questioned why a producer would just happen to see her fiancé having an illicit affair in a restaurant and would send her video footage...she is too innocent, for someone so intelligent. Yet really hot sex between these two at last, yet he's so stupid to realise he's got it wrong yet again!!!!, typical guy !!!!
I do so hope for a HEA ..but will have to wait yet again..hopefully not too long, as I'm so looking forward to see these two finally getting it together x

Is it possible for the second book in a series to be as funny as the first? In this instance, you damn right it's possible!
This book picks up immediately after the end of That Man 1: with Blake still trying to figure out how to get with Jennifer; Jennifer is not only conflicted about what's going on with her and Blake, she's also conflicted about her relationship between her and her fiance Bradley; and Bradley is just...shady.
There are a lot of laugh out lol moments throughout this book and I can't wait to read the final book in this trilogy.
Blake, Blake, blake ... the wolf is falling for the little lamb and she has no idea. completely clueless. and instead of discussing the events or her feelings , I swear shes just ignoring them. I still actually cant believe the dentist .. I really cant believe he swore... and why do I have a feeling everything blake did will come back to bite him-with the dirdctor and the email. I kinda wish their aftermath of the video was more dramatic. he paid more for his actions...okay maybe im a little vindictive. I also wish she'd stop ignoring her feeling and what happened. at some point jennifer, you are going to have to accept it. Hopefully sooner rather than later. I cant wait to ses how the story ends.
I continue this series in hope to get a little more developed connection between Blake and Jennifer in the story. Yet, what I notice that both of them just horny for each other especially Jennifer when she overloadedly mention and describe Mr.Burn (when I said Mr.Burn, its from the view of how Blake called his 'thing') in her mind when ever she's around or not around him. As for Blake, I just don't get him he claimed that Jennifer is something more but his thought also leads towards wanting to get into her pants. I was bit disappointed in this read since initially I expected that there will be more of how Blake will try to win Jennifer over but towards the end it just totally turn me off. For that, I give this read as a 2.5 star.
Is it possible to love Blake even more than I did? Absolutely a resounding YES. This book has left my heart aching a little bit but in a good way. The story picks up right where book one ends, but told from Blake's p.o.v. I love the chemistry between Blake and Jennifer and am seriously going to be wishing my life away waiting for their story to be concluded in book 3, hoping they get their HEA. Please Nelle, be kind to my poor heart! Once again Nelle you knocked the ball right out of the park with this trilogy and I am going to be sat on the edge of my seat waiting for the conclusion. A very well deserved 5 stars from across the pond in good old Blighty ♥
Bradley is an asshole. I repeat...Bradley is an asshole!
Oh man, I loved this. The growth of things in this installment was good. However, there were some stuff that made me want to punch Blake. How can he revel in her misery like that, then immediately pick her up on the rebound??? Mark u, the sex was HOT, but God, he could've given her some time to get over it all. That's why he's where he's at now.....still without Jennifer. If he had moved in slowly but surely, maybe a few weeks, she could be with him & there would be no need for a book 3....but I want a book 3 so...GREAT JOB NELLE!
This book started out just as good as the last and it didn't disappoint! I loved the way Blake came to her rescue, but later in the book I didn't like how he dealt with the fiance. It just felt very crass and Blake should have gone to her personally and tried to soften the blow somehow...I don't know. It didn't sit right with me the way that news broke.
Then the Christmas party...WHOA. Loved it. Loved it hard. But of course the rest made me sad and I need the third book to pick me back up again!
OMG! Bring it on Blake! Blake can't forget Jenn, and seeing her very day at work , don't improve his arouse state! Jenn feels a big pull towards Blake, but she is engaged to her 5 years boyfriend, and Blake is a ladies man, always with a different woman. The only thing Blake thinks about is how he is gonna split Jenn and her fiancé. He starts an "operation dickwick", he wants prove Jenn that Bradley is not the right person for her. But Blake will change his way , and become a serious man? Don't miss this book, is really good.I can't wait to read the next one. Great Job Nelle!
This is so not my type of read. They're all involved in the porn industry and the hero is an over the top man-whore. Really not my thing. But, I read the first one in some anthology and was interested enough to purchase this second one. It's ridiculous. The heroine is clueless/naive, but a decent person. The hero is a selfish, self-absorbed jerk. But, I want to see them get together and I will buy the final book (novella - these are pretty short) when it's available.
