Korean Grammar in Use #2

Korean Grammar in Use: Intermediate

Rate this book
This is the second volume in the Korean Grammar in Use series which is best selling book for the learners of Korean, one of the most effective texts for learning Korean grammar. Along with the first volume, Beginning to Early Intermediate, which covered the major grammar points learned in most introductory (Levels 1 and 2) Korean courses, this Intermediate volume covers the major grammar points learned in intermediate (Levels 3 and 4) Korean courses. Together, they form a full-scale, comprehensive Korean reference grammar. Realizing that most other Korean grammar books target beginning learners only, the authors have answered the needs of intermediate level students who want a more systematic way to focus on grammar. In addition, this series serves as a general Korean reference grammar that can be used by Korean language instructors both in Korea and abroad who experience first-hand the difficulty of teaching Korean grammar.

This series of books is absolutely wonderful to use when studying Korean while living in Korea. The grammar that appears in the beginning level and this intermediate level book are all grammar patterns that people living in Korea often use. So if you practice your listening by frequently engaging Korean people and practicing with whatever level of Korea you have, you'll find that as you also use this book to study, you'll find grammar patterns you've heard and maybe used before, but now are able to see concretely explained.

Great care was also taken with the presentation of vocabulary in this series. The words are introduced and then used in later sections to give learners a chance to gain exposure to the same word used in many sentences. Absolutely fantastic and fine-tuned to help those studying for the TOPIK test.

Detailed explanation with great example sentences. I think every single intermediate level Korean grammar I've ever learned is in this book. A great book if you're trying to learn grammar or trying to revise. But if you are smart, unlike me, you will know to avoid revising the whole damn book in 4 hours.

I used this material before, and it worked well. It was detailed and clear with well-organized content. A lot of vocabulary was provided, and you can find several readings with situations close to the real settings. This material can solidify your grammar foundation as well. I advise you to refer to it in order to acquire strong grammar knowledge and also comprehension of practical situations. Overall I recommend you to consider this material if you want to improve your grammar and proficiency in this language.
