The brutal 1892 hatchet murders of the infamous Lizzie Borden acquittal come alive when present-day Lizzie Allen moves back into her childhood home. Suffering from amnesia, she struggles to uncover the mysteries of her youth — and the distant past.
A few weeks ago I picked this book up for either free or greatly reduced in price. Reading it this week to discuss with the book club I am a member of.
The story was fast moving and had a lot of action. The protagonist seemed t live in a world of frightened confusion and alternative reality. Some of her experiences supported what actually happened to her and some of it didn't seem to.
I was a little confused by her live in boy friend? At first he seemed so kind, helpful and supportive. Then he changed rather quickly.
I did like the ending.
I gave Lizzie by SE a 2 star rating. I look forward to discussing the story with my horror group next week.
I just finished this book, and let me say I couldn't put this down with all the twists and turns, oh so good. keeps your interest with every word on every page. I recommend this for adult horror fans, as there are some mature situations. All in all a great read!!!
After reading some of the other reviews I decided to give this book a try. The storyline had great potential but fell flat. All the characters felt shallow to me, maybe there just needed to be more character development. Definitely needs some editing as well.
Nothing to rave about, but it was a decent book. I feel kind of like it was a long time to get there, then it was over with very quickly. I'd still try more by the author, however.
