BOOK 1: BAREBACK
Detective Lesley Gunn is investigating a theft of rare family heirlooms in the quaint border town of Kilstane. And then one of the townsfolk is found murdered — his skull smashed in. In a town filled with secrets and Rutherford on her back, Gunn must work fast to prove she can catch a killer.

BOOK 2: DEATH BY MARZIPAN
Two are dead in Linlithgow — one potentially by natural causes, the other is definitely murder. Detective Gunn is already in the town looking into a burglary at the Crombie household. She discovers Lady Crombie has links to both deaths, one is her husband, the other is her ex. She is their only lead. But then she’s found strangled to death. Gunn must untangle the trail of lies and resentment in the town to find the murderer.

BOOK 3: THE SECOND STRAIN
Enigmatic composer Daniel Erskine is returning home to Kilstane for the music festival. But before he can perform, his dead body is found squeezed into a metal cylinder. Detective Gunn is back in the border town to help solve the crime. As she digs deeper, she discovers Erskine’s music is hiding the clues to the murder. But just when Gunn thinks she is close to the truth, the killer strikes again . . .

BOOK 4: THE MERCILESS DEAD
In the Scottish Highlands, Detective Gunn is looking into a valuable missing tapestry. But when the body of a local historian is found mutilated nearby, Gunn realises that the town of Inveraray is steeped in secrets. The victim was known for his controversial research and had many enemies. Gunn has a long list of potential suspects. And then another body turns up, brutally murdered in the same way. As she starts to link the two deaths, she puts herself in the killer’s sights.

BOOK 5: WRONG TURNINGS
In the pretty village of Carrick, film producer Chet Brunner is found dead in suspicious circumstances. Then another battered body is discovered by local lettings manager Anna Chisholm. She asks Detective Gunn to help uncover the truth behind the gruesome killings. But each clue reveals dark secrets about the villagers that Anna think she knows. It’s clear someone among them is a killer. But who? And can they stop them before more are murdered.

MEET THE DETECTIVE
Detective Inspector Lesley Gunn is an attractive and bright sleuth who is known to her colleagues as the Fine Arts Commissioner. She is trained on the authority of the art world and the first in line for a robbery or fraud case. But that doesn’t stop her from solving a murder when it finds her. And they often tend to.
