Deep Sea Aquarium Magmell is as said in the name, a story about the first ever Deep Sea Aquarium called Magmell, located 200m under the sea. We start the story with Koutarou, a part time janitor in Magmell who found his dream job while also in search of finding his father. As a child, his father references the deep sea as “The sea farther than space”. This one-of-a-kind aquarium is owned by Director Minato. He is a deep sea specialist or “keeper” of the inhabitants of this aquarium.
We begin to see in the first few chapters that this may hint at an informative series about the many sea creatures that lie beneath the water, as well as the shared experiences and memories that the visitors have of this aquarium’s creatures. This story is reminiscent of Death Parade, in how it takes place in one central location, and to be able to see the conflicts characters might have and the stories that are intertwined with the different scenarios .
The art style matches the aquatic theme of the story and the attention to detail of the entire picture that is being shown makes the panels seem like they are moving off the page. This would be something I would recommend for readers who like to learn new information about random things, or are interested in subjects relating to the ocean. However, this is a good read to relax and take your mind off things.
