Lies can be very dangerous and deadly little things.

Almost four years after Laney Matthews survived a brush with death at the hands of Robbie Jameson, she has finally picked up the pieces of her life and started over. She’s made new friends, began dating again, attended countless therapy sessions, and is about to graduate in the spring from Blackburn University. Ever since that fateful night, Laney has tried to surround herself with positivity, and so far it’s been successful … but that’s all about to come crashing down.

When Laney receives news of Robbie’s release from prison, her bubble of security bursts and she begins to withdraw from everyday life. Her friends come to the rescue with a fun winter break getaway in order to clear their heads and shake off the end of semester finals. It’s here that Laney comes face to face again with Brent Lyles, the one true love that got away, and she begins to realize maybe he’s the exact thing that’s been missing in her crazy life.

Something’s amiss at the sprawling rental property though, and when things take a deadly turn, Laney and her friends are forced to fight for their lives. Has Robbie returned to finish what he started years ago? And is Laney prepared to stand up to her past demons once and for all?

The key to her survival this time though will be trust—a feeling she hasn’t embraced in quite some time.

T.A. Kunz is the pen name for Adam Kunz, who lives in Orlando, Florida. And unfortunately a lot of the rumors you’ve heard about his state are true. When he’s not writing, Adam spends his time reading, playing video games, watching anime and Korean dramas, and spending time with his partner while cuddling with their two dogs, Nicky and Rusty. Since childhood, he’s had a great fondness for reading and writing. His fiction genres of choice are eclectic, but mainly are in the YA, MG, and NA categories. So, it was no surprise when he decided to write his own books that he’d be a grab bag kind of author in terms of story ideas. And he just loves mashing up genres. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Adam advocates strongly for diverse representation in all media. He may or may not have a coffee addiction, the jury’s still out on that one. And his hands-down favorite holiday is Halloween, which holds a very special place in Adam’s heart.

Bloody Hell – this was an amazingly terrifying book! Poor Laney, it’s amazing that she hasn't locked herself in bubble after what she went through with psycho-Robbie in the past. She may have been innocent and helpless but she kept her wits about her and had just enough luck to pull through the horrid attack. But she’s definitely damaged. You can feel her fear and paranoia on almost every page. She has some amazing friends and a couple of hotties that try to take her mind off the past but something always seem to spark a memory that shuts her down again. Then as soon as she starts to heal a little bit, she ends up having to fight for her life again, along with her friends this time! Seriously, I don’t know if I was more scared to keep reading or stop reading! I buzzed through this because I couldn't bear to not know what horrible thing was going to happen next. So to say it is addicting is a huge understatement. Unless you have a heart condition, I DEFINITELY recommend this book – just maybe don’t read it at night when you’re home alone.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
Splendid book, with a sense of foreboding that had me squirming in my seat. Anxiety meds anyone? I love a book that you can't quite put a finger on until the end. Without spoilers though this book was written very well. The characters could have had a bit more depth but all around the book was really good. Chilling but exciting. This was my first by this author, and the story stuck well with the genre. I would have liked to learn more about the psychologist with the scar. The cover and title didn't do much for me but the synopsis did. So why did this book get less than a stellar rating? The ending got a little confusing for me, I read at a fast pace and some of it caught me by surprise. Also I didn't really understand the getting out on good behavior......um he had an axe for crying out loud. Overall entertainment value....four stars.

Author Adam Kunz has surprised the crap out of me. When I read his first solo book, One Tiny Secret, I fell in love. I thought it was great. It had everything it needed to be a really good book that could be enjoyed to the fullest. I thought One Tiny Secret was exactly what I was looking for in an NA Thriller book. Boy, was I WRONG. Two Little Lies blew me (and One Tiny Secret) right out of the water. It actually scared the hell out of me! Do you have ANY idea how long it’s been since I’ve been able to say that??

While the writing itself was good in One Tiny Secret, I thought it was great in Two Little Lies. Adam’s growth as an author is obvious and he is definitely an author to keep an eye on. It’s not that the writing in OTS was bad by any means, or even mediocre; I just thought the writing was more mature and descriptive in Two Little Lies. Is it perfect? Probably not, but as you can probably tell by my reviews, I’m no grammar expert. But was it written better than One Tiny Secret? Absolutely. You know how many readers will say reading is like watching a movie in their head (I know I do!)? This was somehow MORE than that. I could seriously see every. Single. Scene. I could see every piece of every picture Adam painted with his words. While I do normally see books in my head as movies, I don’t normally see them this vividly. Two Little Lies would make an amazing movie. If Hollywood didn't muck it up that is lol. I would absolutely go see it, and I DESPISE going to the movies!

Two Little Lies has twists and turns, action and humor, love and lust, conflict, and the kind of intensity that really makes for a great thriller. I know I damn sure didn’t see the ending coming. I was just a little bit in shock when I finished reading. Which, by the way did not take nearly long enough because once I started, I absolutely couldn’t put it down! Even though I was upset that it was over, it really was the perfect length in my opinion. It was long enough to give a good back story on the main characters and set the scene, but short enough where I didn’t get bored or find myself skimming paragraphs full of unnecessary content that was there for the sole purpose of increasing the word count. Everything Adam wrote was relevant to the story in some way or another.

In my opinion, it’s really hard to come up with a unique storyline for anything anymore. Most books and movies seem to follow a pattern of sorts, and in some ways, Two Little Lies follows this pattern as well. There is NOTHING wrong with that. What makes it ok for me is that despite the fact that Adam is following a basic pattern, it still comes out as fresh and unique. It didn’t feel stale or recycled. Though I do have to say that the opening chapter very much reminded me of the opening scene in the movie, Scream, where Drew Barrymore is babysitting and that guy shows up with the mask and knife and does his thing. I was a little bit worried after reading this scene that the rest of the book would be just like that, but luckily, I was wrong.

Two Little Lies would be a perfect read for anyone who loves a classic style slasher type of thriller. Adam has created some really psychotic characters who have a perfect home on the pages of this book. I would recommend it to pretty much anyone who likes Thrillers that don’t mind the characters being college aged. Even though they are college aged, they are fairly mature for their age group and weren’t annoying. I would let my 13 year old read it except there is some mild sexy type talk, and I don’t want her to be afraid to stay home alone and babysit anymore!

Adam’s ability to build a great story with great characters is going to continue growing as he continues to write each book even better than the last. I fully believe Adam has a bright future as an author ahead of him and I couldn’t be happier for him. If you don’t read Two Little Lies, you are only cheating yourself out of a great example of what a great Thriller should be!

I received a review copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This winter break weekend away is exactly what Laney Matthews needs. Even if it does fall on the anniversary of her horrific attack. Even if her almost killer is now out of prison thanks to the stupidity of our justice system. Even if her hallucinations have her seeing Robbie’s face at every turn. Yep, this weekend is about letting go and letting loose of the past. As if things are ever that easy.

From the get go this book had me on the edge of my seat and ready to burst. It was so freakin’ intense the whole way through. How does an author do that? How can they give this sense of impending doom the whole time without letting up? I don' know either, but Kunz does it and does it well. Not for one second did I feel there was a lull in his book. It was that good. And fans of Kunz’s first book,ONE TINY SECRET, will catch a glimpse of Dani in this one.

And Kunz is not one for keeping characters around either. Dude is seriously all about plucking them out when needed. Oh yeah, no one is safe with him. No one. Well besides the MC of the story. But even that was questionable at times.

I might be telling my age here, but if you are a fan of the SCREAM movies, then this is the book for you. I try to make note of every single occurrence so that I can try and figure out who is the killer. Did I guess right with this one? Hell no. Kunz being the masterful story teller he is totally pulled one over on me. Well done, Kunz. Well done.

Absolutely suspenseful, thrilling, and demanding of your attention, this book had me from the gory start and never released its hold until the very end. This book will pull you in and leave you checking your windows and locks the minute you are through. 5 Fantastic, yet Creepy Stars.

Two Little Lies is a heartpounding psychological thriller by the ever talented T.A. Kunz; one you seriously don’t want to miss. This novel pulled me in from the very first page and left me breathless at the end. Juxtaposing lighthearted banter with deadly intent, this mystery novel will leave you on the edge of your seat, waiting for the shoe to drop as Laney and her friends seclude themselves on a rental property in the dead of winter. Not all are going to survive the weekend...

I really enjoyed this novel! Kunz’s characterization was spot on, and I found myself seeing a bit of myself in Laney. Although I’ve never experienced anything to the extent that she has, the connection was there as I read of her insecurities and fear that the past might come back to haunt her. A survivor by nature, Laney is a strong-willed character that is forced to face her demons head on in a game of cat and mouse as the weekend unfolds, and as she learns through the many harrowing trials and tribulations, not everyone is who they profess to be.

I loved the characters, and the climax of the story really did have me on the edge of my seat, fretting about the characters and what would happen next. Kunz has created an extremely realistic and, therefore, scary world where evil pursues good, and I loved not knowing who to trust and waiting on pins and needles for the climax and the revelation that I never saw coming. This is a must read for sure.

I generally stay away from this genre because I worry that it will get to graphically violent or freak me out for days on end, but I know this author and their awesomeness, so I figured I would give it a try. I am so beyond glad I did, even if it did freak me out for days ;). It was fabtabulous! I seriously could not close my kindle. I like the characters, even those I apparently should not have. I absolutely loved the premise. Yes, we see Laney at a weak point in her life, but watching the book open the way it did, we see her strength and that drew me to her even more. To say it was suspenseful would be an understatement. I felt like I never knew when the next shoe was going to fall. Plus the author is a bit like Joss Whedon in the fact that you never know who will make it to the end adding to the suspense and anticipation. Oh and he added heat. Seriously, how can he weave such a suspenseful serial killer tale and still manage to include heat?
I can not remember the last time I said this, but I really think this needs to be a movie. Usually, I am all about books keeping their sacred little place in my heart with the characters looking just like what I had pictured, but this one screams to be a movie. I can hear the suspenseful music now. Speaking of hearing, I read this while I was out of town so all the noises were new to me. Not the best choice for reading this kind of suspense. I spooked myself more than once.
This NA Thriller wowed me!!!!

I really enjoyed this story of suspense and intrigue. Adam, the author, has done it again with a story about a young woman who turns out to be a great tough ass chick that won't go down without a fight. The story really gets going when some college kids decide on taking a little vacation and run into a little trouble while they are gone. Laney, the main character, is recovering from a very tragic incident a few years earlier in her life. She is heading in the right direction of overcoming some of her fears - when she gets some news that shakes her up. She is hoping the time away with her friends will help her relax and get a better hold on things again in her life.
Adam has written this story in a way that makes me feel like I am at the movies and sitting on the edge of my seat hoping they get away or they find that special hiding place where they are safe. It is a VERY exciting and not everything works out like we think. There is love, betrayal, secrets and lies throughout the story. I like that Adam was able to keep me in the dark until the end.

*I was given a copy of this story to read and review for Wicked Reads*

This was an interesting story, that was highly addictive and adrenaline pumping! We start the story learning about Laney's past and the horror that she lived through. She's a young woman trying to get on with her life. BUT her tortured past has other ideas.
This story is full of suspense, a touch of Horror, and a bit of romance. It has all the makings of a different kind of romantic story. I found my heart racing, I was cheering for the group, I was gasping at the horror and I was DEFINITELY glued to my kindle right to the end!
I loved this story and how different it was from my norm, I highly recommend this story!!

Oh Adam kunz, the only complaint I have is that this book is not long enough! It was so good I wanted more! Yet somehow it's the perfect length. Well Mr.kunz has without a doubt done it again. Two Little Lies is full of suspense and mystery, just like like one tiny secrete I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book, every time you think you have it figured out another mind blowing twist comes.

This was a thrilling and intense read. Filled with suspense and great characters. It had me hooked the entire time. All I kept thinking is there has to be way more book left because it's way too good to end.

Again I find myself amazed at how well Kunz captures an authentic female voice, every time I would stop and think whoa a guy wrote thus! I'm even more impressed.

Kunz is a master of great mysteries, and again I find myself thoroughly impressed with how quickly he can twist the plot into a gripping thriller.

A must read!

Have you ever had A book creep you out?

That is exactly what happened to me when I tried to start reading this before bed, lol.. Love the fact that it did too...

Adam had me spooked in the first chapter.. The way he started it off made me feel like I was going to turn the page and have someone pop out at me.. The fact that my husband was out for work probably didn't help.. Needless to say I had to stop where I was and wait until the morning to continue.. That being said I finished it one day because I could NOT put it down. There was plenty of twists and turns and just when you think you know what is going on- he throws you through a loop, and leaves you still guessing. The story was well written. The character's were relate-able. And he showed what real emotion could be like after dealing with trauma. If you like books that keep you on the edge of your seat then this is one for you. I was definitely not disappointed.

I don't know how he does it. I was on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE book. Thinking, "oh, yeah, he's totally the killer". Then "nope, he was definitely not the killer". Then "oh, I'll bet she's got something to do with this". Then "nope, she didn't have any sinister motives". I LOVE it!! So reminiscent of the Christopher Pike and RL Stine books I read in high school. I love me a good murder mystery and even better when some good looking guys are involved!

I really liked Laney. A lot of times the female main character in these books can be insufferable. I didn't find myself hoping that the murderer would just kill her, so that's always a good thing. Her love interests were HOT. I loved her friends and found myself actually CRYING because of one of the deaths toward the end.

I would definitely recommend this book. It was a fast paced, fun, creeptastic read!!!

Two Little Lies is suspenseful from the first chapter to the last. There is no beating around the bush for this story, as it barrels straight into the story.

Laney is distraught about the release of Robbie Jameson, her attacker. Her college friends decide a get away for Spring break is what she needs, and rents a house on the lake. All goes well until the chaos erupts and puts Laney and all her friends in danger.

This story has danger, friendship, loyalty, mystery, twists..all the tasteful ingredients for a suspenseful mystery. Just when you think you have it figures out, don't bet on it. The whole story is creative and brilliantly written.

Its a MUST read..one that you won't be able to put down until the last page is turned or swiped!

This is the first book in awhile that I stayed up all night reading.

The first chapter worried me, then attracted me, and then enthralled me into the story line. There is a little bit of Sexy talk but otherwise it is along the lines of your typical thriller, psychopathic, serial killer book. In theme, not in story line, in fact of all the books I read I have never seen the twists and turns that this one takes, nor have I seen it written so well.

Would I read more of Adam Kunz's books? In a heart beat, I just hope that next time I don't start them at night and not sleep from both wanting to finish it and from the shear terror that was installed in me.

Check it out, it is worth it.

Wow, that was scarier than I was expecting! Very well written, intense story that gripped me from the very beginning. I will not be able to sleep for a while after that - although I am a wuz when it comes to baddies hiding in the dark!

Excellent story, with some clever twists that were unexpected and most definitely worth reading. Thank you Mr Kunz

Adam Koonz has a way of drawing you in and spooking you out in a way that makes you wanna leave the lights on. That said I am very easily spooked, that is why I normally do not read this genre, but he did such a great job with the first book (One Tiny Little Secret) that I wanted to read more of his work. He didn't disappoint. Adam is a wonderful writer who writes the story in first person present tense which actually makes you FEEL like you ARE Laney.
Great job.
Highly recommend.

Adam Kunz first book was great. I really enjoyed this book as well. This book was nothing but a thrill. The writing style has become better in this book. I did however have a few problems at the end. How did Laney not realize that wasn't Trevor dead in the room? I mean, she's not going to forget Robbie's face. That whole thing was weird with Trevor training him and whatever...but then it got even weirder with Colton being involved and also loving Laney. Geez girl, 3 guys after you! That part was just too weird. Then you have Jared who really had no point in this story. He's basically forgotten at the end of the book and just goes off to model at the end. Robbie also wouldn't have been able to get out so early on good behavior. It would be pretty easy for them to convict him. So, the story wasn't too realistic but, I will say, I will definitely be keeping my eye on Adam Kunz' books though. I think he's got a lot of talent and his stories I can never put down until I'm finished!

My review:

I really enjoy reading a book which brings out thrills on my spine! Two Little Lies was like that. When I was reading it during one evening being alone at home, I really thought I started hearing how the floor was squeaking and doors were moving... It was horrific and terrifying, in a very good way!

Plot:

Laney has survived a killer once and has since that day lost quite a lot. When the killer gets released from prison, Laney's nerves are starting to play tricks on her. Or are they tricks or is somebody really after hurting her again?

When Laney is taking a trip together with her friends to a quite deserted place, renting a holiday house, things start to happen. She meets a friend from her past and the body count starts to increase. Will Laney and her friends survive and can Laney run away from the killer and her past?

What I liked about the book:

I had to get out of bed, switch on few more lamps because Two Little Lies creeped me out. It gave a feeling, that you know something isn't right, that there is somebody right behind you and you have to peak to see, who it is. You know, this little paranoid feeling of being watched... Just like the main character Laney felt. That feeling was described in a way it caught you. T.A. Kunz is incredibly good at writing the suspense, increasing the tension until you almost can't take it anymore. It was well-written!

There are also many well-written likable characters. Even though you get some ideas who might be the bad guy, I was still surprised by the author. You know that somebody will die, but it seemed that the author (and I as a reader as well) genuinely enjoyed killing the characters off!

I also liked that the romance was in the background and that it didn't overwhelm the suspense and the thrill, but it was nicely combined with the horrors of the story.

Generally:

Very good and well-written thriller filled with well-developed characters. I definitely recommend Two Little Lies!

I started this at 7:30pm and was finished by 11pm. I thought I hit a reading wall and then I pick this on a .99 cent whim (thank you Jennifer L Armentrout) and could not stop reading.

As I was reading it felt like I was watching a horror/thriller movie. I could clearly see all the actors in my head and I just could not put this down.

I love it when I think that I have it all figured out and then I am pleasantly surprised when the plot took a shocking twist that you don't see coming at all.

A great quick and engaging read for when the dreaded reading slump gets you down. I could not fall asleep while reading and maybe I shouldn't have read this so close to bedtime.

Well written and not a bad read but it felt like every other slasher horror movie. No real depth. Maybe better as a B grade movie
Some people will like it but just not me.
Still I am a sucker for slasher/horror movies and if this had been a movie I would have watched it.

What a book. I agree with another post that this could make a great movie. I didn't see the big twist coming. I read this book in about 1.5 hrs - it's just go go go from the beginning and I couldn't stop. There's even some steamy moments through all the thrilling plot. I enjoyed this book.
