Darcy Sweet Mysteries #6

Hiding From Death

Rate this book
When Darcy Sweet returned home from a short vacation with her boyfriend she found, much to her dismay, that her deceased neighbor's house had been sold.

The new owner, a mysterious dark haired woman, set tongues wagging around Misty Hollow for being very aloof and unlikeable. The only thing the woman had going in her favor was her young son whom she was very protective of.

Darcy became intrigued with her new neighbor and even though the woman demanded that Darcy leave them alone, she couldn't. Darcy felt that there was more to it, that the woman had a secret. Especially after having a vision that reveals the danger that the woman is in.

Will Darcy be able to help the woman before her past catches up with her and someone gets hurt or worse...?

Liked this the best among the first six books in the series. The plots of the previous books were good in themselves, but it took time for me to warm up to the storytelling style. This series is a light, easy read which I wouldn't mind reading more of when I need a break from more serious fiction.

This was another fun little book, we get to meet more characters and are introduced to a few more characters who move into Anne's house next door to Darcy and Jon. I enjoyed that there was a mystery in this book that didn't entail any deaths this book yet again. I am enjoying this aspect of this series. Though in the previous books there were murders, even though they were many years ago, this time there was none of that.

I enjoyed the introduction of the new character throughout the book. We also get to see how much closer Jon and Darcy are getting while working together. The visions have helped through the course of the investigation, however, it wasn't the complete focal point during this book.

I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to continue reading this series.

This one had a pretty good mystery to it. It's definitely one I enjoyed more than others.

However - Darcy was really pushy towards that neighbor! Girl some people don't want to be social.

But the author made it like she was "helping" so it was all okay. Whatever.

This is the last book in my set and I'm glad it's over. The relationship was too rushed between Darcy and JT. I still hate his last name. And Darcy has been annoying, immature and accusatory too many times.

It's just not a series I find believable much at all, nor does it really connect with me.

The author is great at mysteries but awful at characters.

WOW !!!! I just finished reading Hiding From Death #6 in the Darcy Sweet Mystery, and what a doozy it was. From a new neighbor that bought Darcy's friends Anna's house which she still misses very much to being happy/sad because her Assistance is leaving for college and the mystery of WHO IS THE NEW NEIGHBOR??? Darcy has to figure out this new mystery because of the vision she was swept into when she was touched on the hand by the new neighbor; before time runs out for the new neighbor and her family.

Great Series by K.J. Emrick!!

I highly recommend this series by K.J. Emrick! There is so much going on in this book and the other books in this series! There has been a murder in Misty Hollow! Will Darcy and her boyfriend Jon who is a cop, find the murderer before he kills again? I just love Cozy Mystery books. Try any of these books and you won't be disappointed! So far there is 32 books in this series! I have read them all! I'm not very good at writing reviews. I just know I Love reading these books! Treat yourself and give one a try!

I only read this because it was part of the six-books set I got on SYKD and my OCD didn't allow me to leave it unread. I'm coming to the realisation that I'm probably reading this series too late (it was first released over a decade ago! But The Cuckoo's Calling was released that same year, so no excuse!) or that this is meant for a young audience (hmmm.. but it does have some cringe-y adult content) but these books are too lame! They are over-explanatory and unnecessarily cringy.

Hiding From Death, Book 6 in first Darcy Sweet Cozy Mystery Box Set (1-3) by K.J. Emrick was short and predictable. That said, it was better than her The Ghost of Christmas cozy mystery.

All told, all 6 of this original box were nice, quick cozy mysteries, some shorter than others. However, for me, there were no real mystery to any of the books. Even though are several more box sets, my reading about Darcy Sweet ends here.

Book Six, "Hiding From Death," is light, undemanding entertainment with a hint of the paranormal. This mystery is a bit different and includes a question within a question, but, as usual, Darcy pushes her agenda, Jon folds and bows to her superiority in the end...THE END

Darcey is now having visions of the new neighbor who is living in Anna's old houze. Can she and Jon find out the mystery before it gets to be to much for them to handle alone?

Definitely a paranormal, cozy mystery. It's interesting but not very complex. Very entertaining and fun to read. Clearly enjoyable enough to have read all of these!

This is part of a series of short mysteries with a paranormal twist. Cute series.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

A new character comes to town!

Izzy with her daughter Lilly become the two new town members. Also, with Sue leaving Darcy gets a new assist.

Great storyline, with a perfect way to add to the citizens of Misty Hallow and build on the Darcy Sweet Cozy Mystery series.

Thank you K.J. Emrick, I love the great strives you taken in this series. I planned to read all future additions.

Another enchanting mystery from the Darcy Sweet Misty Hollows series. This episode reveals new characters & the exit of one of Darcy's closest friends. Along with the mystery of a hidden identity, Darcy (& Sue) showcase a new venture designed to save her book store.
I can't wait to read the next installment in the series!

Classic on the run mystery.
Like the previous book, this book had light paranormal.

Darcy's passed friend Anna house hase been sold.
And her new neighbor is less friendly then Anna was.
Darcy tries to win her over, when she realizes her new neighbor is troubled.

With the help of her detective Boyfriend, Jon, Darcy helps with her troubles.

Grace and Jon are probably my favorites.
They are funniest part of the books.
