I recieved a gift card for Petco for Christmas so I got a betta and all that goes with it. I named him Barry for the alliteration and for President Obama’s nickname. He’s a cute little guy, a half moon tail and he’s (fittingly) red, white, and blue.
I set him up with pretty sweet accommodations, which this book helped me figure out. It’s a quick and informative read if you are interested in rescuing a betta from a pet store.
Barry is a very happy little fish, even with the occasional cat staring him down.
This was a great book for beginners! Although I already knew most of the information in the book it had great information on diseases and health issues. Also about Breeding Bettas (which I don't plan to do, but found interesting.) It also actually gives you the correct information to care for your betta, which is something rarely found. However, it said you could put two males together, if docile enough. I disagree with that, I don't think anyone should ever attempt it. Even the male with female is iffy, and they forgot to mention that. Also they neglected to go into detail about sororities, which they mentioned only as "females can be put together". But that was it. No information on how to introduce them or anything. But you can find most missing information on the internet if you type it into google.
