Katelyn was always the perfect straight A student, never in trouble, the envy of every parent. With all her plans for the future already in place, she was completely unprepared to watch her perfect world go up in smoke. Her boyfriend cheated on her, so what if she doesn’t know how she set him on fire or if she even did for that matter. Then another fire happens. After that her parents think she is acting out.
Ms. Stone, a counselor, arrives at her home and convinces Katelyn’s parents to send her to a school for troubled teens. Horrified and feeling abandoned, Katelyn quickly learns Stonehaven Academy is not what it seems, nor is Ms. Stone. Certain she is losing her mind, she learns people there are not quite human, and neither is she. With that knowledge also comes a price.
Someone is out to eliminate people of her kind. While trying to learn of the new gifts she has and the person it seems she is meant to be, she also must decide who to trust. Is it the person who keeps sending her the eerie dreams, the group of peers from school or her new friends guardian? Or are they the ones out to hurt her?
By the end of her senior year Katelyn will have to decide if this new life is worth what she has received in return or walk away from it all.
Karrons love for reading began at an early age. Her love was so extreme that when given a book report assignment teachers no longer wanted to know what book her reports would be on until the day she was to give them.
Karron is from the south and loves her southern Georgia accent, although often she is asked to repeat her self. She is a former co-teacher for children with Severe and Emotional Behavior Disorders as well as being a former hotel manager. These two positions boosted her love for helping and pleasing people as well as her love for learning things.
She enjoys reading most historical romances and paranormal romances with dragon and wolf shifter's. but has recently gotten into anything to do with Steampunk, including attending Aethertopia, the greatest Steampunk event in history. When not reading or writing you can find her promoting some of her favorite authors, musicians, directors, creators and all around indie community.
