Niya 2: Dreamer's Paradise

Rate this book
Love, true love, is the ruler of all things. Once you have acquired a taste for it… nothing else will ever satisfy your palate or taste the same.

Niya has already proven that she would kill for Jamilla, which should make their bond unbreakable. But when the dopamine fades and she is faced with her own demons, rescuing Jamilla from her problems just won’t be enough to fill the void she has always felt within. What will happen when family issues, fame and reality sets in? How will Niya deal with a Hip-Hop career as she tries to repair her broken family? Signing to Green Note Records just may bring fulfillment and love when the sexy R&B diva, Brazil Noelle, swoops in and aims for her heart.

Jamilla is filled with so many mixed emotions that at times, she feels as if she will lose her mind. Her love for Niya is real, and knowing that, gives her just as much comfort as the writing career she chases. Yet, Jamilla is still battling with the fact that Niya is a girl. Will her fling with a male “straighten” her out for good? Or will it help her to realize that love has no boundaries? Either way, a decision must be made.

Join the tormented twosome on an undeniable thrill ride through dreamer’s paradise, as they travel down the rocky road of self-discovery. Niya and Jamilla will combat their fears, distractions, love, denial, family, and sometimes each other, in the emotionally charged and action packed sequel to Niya 1: Rainbow Dreams.

With so many warriors fighting the battle of love…
Only one will win the war of hearts.

This by far is better than part 1!! I love how the characters make you interact with them on an emotional level.....I cried when they cried, I got angry when they were angry, I was sad when they were sad......Who knew that everything Niya and Jamilla had in store for them would be so over whelming to them and ME! I love how the story flows.....I love the poetry, the rap, but most of all the love story behind it all......Jamilla and Niya have love on a totally different playing field and even though your heart wants one thing their reality always brings you down to a completely different level....Love is powerful, Love is never ending, Love is a test of the wills involved......Fabiola I am giving you a standing ovation because you make me understand the love on both sides of the coin.......2 thumbs and 2 snaps up honey!!! I can't wait for Part 3!!!!

Fabiola Joseph this story is just PHENOMENAL. I have other books that I need to read but I can't seem to pick them up after reading Niya 2. While reading a book I want to be able to put myself in the characters shoes. With Niya & Jamilla I was able to do just that. I cried when they cried, I laughed when they laughed and my heart ached right along with theirs too. It doesn't matter if your Gay, straight,or bi-sexual you can relate to this beautiful story of friendship and acceptance. The relationship that these two ladies have just priceless, and the love is rare. As both ladies follow their dreams road blocks come along but the bond that they share and the love that they have for another outweights it all. New friendships will be formed and new challenges will appear. Will Niya & Jamilla finally make it to Paradise together? Will Jamilla accept who she is? Will Niya continue to fight for Jamilla? Read Niya 2 to find out why Ms. Joseph has the Soul of a Writer.

What can I say? When you find true love it's hard to let go! True friendships are hard to come by but when you have it you better hold on to it. Why because the snakes near your yard will slither up an try go take your bitch! Lol This is an emotionally charge book. It's filled with hard knocks, family betrayal, paybacks, disappointments, conflicted minds, and ultimate sacrifices. This is is all about young love and the challenges of deciding on sexuality and how it can consume the young mind against the "no no`s" of the world! In Dreamers Paradise Niya is faced with even more challenges. Fabiola dives deep in our hearts with part 2 of this Niya saga. She never disappoint me in any of her books and this is no different. (Unless it deals with the partners)! Love it and holding on to this special edition. Thanks Fab boo #teamJaNiya!!!!

Wow this book was so damn good.It was a hell of a page turner.I was trying to divide the book into three days but I couldn't because it was so good.I read 42 chapters in one day and the rest the next.I loved the way Niya and Jamella actually showed true feelings towards each other this book.I was a little upset about the way Niya and Jamella left things but I can't wait for book three that ending wasn't what I was expecting at all

ANYONE WHO HAS READ NIYA PART 1 OR GOT THE PLEASURE TO READ NIYA 2: DREAMER'S PARADISE KNOWS THAT THIS IS A UNIQUE, OUT OF THE BOX, EMOTIONAL, DEEP SERIES WRAPPED IN A CONNECTION BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE. TWO FEMALES WHO ARE TAKING LIFE BY THE HORNS WITH EACH OTHER BY THEIR SIDE. THEY DEAL WITH INNER DEMONS, INNER SECRETS, LIFE, LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP TOGETHER, BUT IN PART 2 WE GET TO SEE THE GROWTH BETWEEN NIYA AND JAMILLA COME FULL SPEED. NIYA BEING THE STRONG, DEPENDENT TAKE EVERYTHING ON HER SHOULDERS TYPE OF PERSON SHE IS SHE DID JUST THAT IN THIS BOOK. JAMILLA BEING THE BROKEN, NEEDY, SELFISH PERSON SHE IS BROUGHT SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT OUT OF NIYA. NIYA BECAME DARK AND WITHDRAWN, BUT FLOURISHED AS HER RAP CAREER GREW. THERE WERE THINGS THAT NIYA & JAMILLA HAD TO FACE IN THIS BOOK THAT I KNOW FOR SURE NO REGULAR PERSON COULD DEAL WITH, BUT THEY DID. PEOPLE COME IN THE PICTURE BOTH OLD AND NEW AND PUT A SPIN ON EVERYTHING. FABIOLA JOSEPH WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND ANYTHING I COULD'VE IMAGINED WITH PART 2 WHICH MAKES IT WAYY BETTER THAN PART 1 I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD'VE SAID THAT, BUT I'M SAYING IT. THIS BOOK GOES DEEPER, IT'S LONGER 300 PAGES (NO FILLER) JUST A PAGE TURNER WORTH READING. PAGE AFTER PAGE OF GOODNESS. TRUST ME I KNOW BECAUSE I DAMN NEAR BURNT FOOD TRYING TO READ THIS BOOK HANGING ON TO EACH PAGE. ALL I CAN SAY IS I'M READY FOR WHATEVER YOU'RE COMING WITH NEXT. I'LL BE WAITING.... ALSO THIS LIMITED EDITION COVER FITS THIS STORY SO WELL EVERY LITTLE DETAIL MATCHES.

Have you ever tried reaching for something that was just a little bit out of your grasp? Maybe just an inch or two. So first you try standing on your tippy toes, then you try putting your head down and stretching your arm out as far as you possibly can and you can feel the item with your fingertips but no matter how hard you try you can't get an actual hold on it, so finally you get tired and you stop trying. That's how I would describe Niya and Jamilla's relationship. Niya is doing everything in her power to try and get a hold of Jamilla's heart but her reach just isn't long enough. It's killing her because she can feel it with her fingertips but she can't grab it. Now Niya is tired of reaching and Jamilla not meeting her half way, so she thinks maybe it's not meant to be. I absolutely LOVED this story! The way Fabiola writes these characters, you feel like you know them personally. I found myself yelling and cussing out loud at some scenes in the book and other times I was laughing or crying my eyes out because of the things they had to endure. The emotions in this story are just crazy but that's what makes it so remarkable. I love Jamilla but she is being extremely selfish and I truly hope she wakes up and realizes what she has before it's too late.....because a love like this only comes once in a lifetime.....

This was such a realistic, beautiful continuation of a love destined to be. Sometimes the sequels are never as good as the original but wow! in this case, the author, Fabiola Joseph did not dissapoint! The author will keep you on your toes and have you laughing and crying all in the same breath! she will even have you fussing at her at times because the ending will leave you wanting more of Niya and Jamilla. If you haven't read Niya 1, please do so asap before reading this one! you will fall in love twice, I promise you!

I stumbled across Fabiola Joseph, from having a free credit on audible. So I listened to the reading of Niya: Rainbow Dreams, which also included this book Niya 2: Dreamers Paradise. And here I am waiting for the third installment. This author has become a fave.

I waited for this book, because the author has already established herself as a favorite of mine. I cleared my reading list for this book. When it arrived right around Christmas I knew it would be one of my favorite gifts.

The cover displays our main character in all her majestic swag. Simple graphics let me know she’s a a musician of some sort and a true creative because she gripped a notebook 📓. The rhyme book is a forgotten treasure in the age of technology. Then again...so is good literature. This novel offered both.

Niya and Jamilla’s love story is one the sweetest coming of age stories I’ve ever read. In true Fabie form, it’s decorated with some darkness, but what’s a love story without a little murder?

The soundtrack offered by our narrators is smooth r&b plus a little 90s style hip hop. Niya’s rhymes had me nodding my head like I could hear the beat. The love letters between her and Jamilla are just heart wrenching.

This book is an excellent read for anyone who loves love. I experienced the full spectrum of emotions. I cried with them. Got mad and tossed the book. Then I retrieved it apologetically, cradled it and renewed our connection. It was like going through my first teenage love affair all over again. The height of raw emotion and unfiltered tongues animated the imagery like a motion picture right between the lines.

It was very well written. Only a few small typos but nothing that threw me out of the plot. Niya is a bloody Valentine in the Brooklyn and a modern queer Romeo and Juliet.

Jamilla is still on the fence about her sexuality. She loves Niya, but continues to fight her attraction to her. Niya has proven to Jamilla time and time again that she could be everything she needs--friend, lover and protector. She has shown that her love is unconditional and unwavering, and isn't afraid to let it be known. When Niya's love still goes unanswered, she decides to back away from Jamilla and pursue other women.

As Niya’s rap career and Jamilla’s writing career start to take off, new prospects are introduced and their relationship is stretched to the limit. Niya is now surrounded by women who are willing to accept their sexuality, or at least their desire to be with another woman. Jamilla finally finds the straight relationship she was yearning for, when a mutual friend steps up and tries to stake a claim in her life.

Niya 2 Dreamer’s Paradise takes us deeper into Niya and Jamilla’s worlds and gives us a candid look at their insecurities and upbringing. Fabiola Joseph has an amazing knack for getting her readers emotionally involved with her characters, and creating an interesting storyline that’s easy to follow. As Niya 2 wraps up, Niya and Jamilla’s fate is left up in the air, and leaves us readers anticipating the final installment in the trilogy. Hopefully, Niya 3 Rainbow Hearts will tie up the loose ends and reveal if Niya and Jamilla’s were truly destined to be together.

Unrequited Love

In Dreamer's Paradise author Fabiola Joseph reacquaints readers with Niya and Jamilla from Rainbow Dreams. Book two provides a flawless transition into the story literally picking up exactly where book one ended. Teenagers Niya and Jamilla are still dealing with family issues as well as sexuality issues. Niya has never wavered with her love for Jamilla but Jamilla's love for Niya is still so uncertain. Torn between her strong desire for Niya and her conflicting opinions on actually being gay Jamilla is a ball of confusion. One that Niya is unable to separate herself from but when her musical career takes off Jamilla's uncertainty may just leave her out in the cold.

Filled with angst, longing and confusion Niya 2 Dreamer's Paradise is an emotional read. Author Joseph does an excellent job immersing readers into the story rooting for true love for both characters in which ever form it may take. By book's end that love hasn't been attained and the uncertainty is at an all time high setting the premise for a promising conclusion.

Sometimes you can show the one you love everything you have inside of you and it is still not good enough.

Niya 2 picks up right where part 1 left off. Jamilla is still unsure of her sexual preference and frankly, Niya is getting tired of it. After persistence from Niya’s grandmother, Niya and Jamilla packs up and start anew. Niya thinks with Jamilla away from everything common, she would finally open up and submit to her. How wrong was she? As the saying goes, what one won’t do, another will. When a new girl comes on the scene…things take a turn. Will Jamilla finally open up and allow Niya in? Will Niya move on? You have to one-click to see where this new adventure takes you.

The author has once again brought readers into an emotional tale of passion, love and heartache. Ms. Joseph has developed the characters even more so that any reader, regardless of their sexual preference, can relate to the heartache that is being suffered. At times, you will find yourself ready to smack Jamilla and other times, ready to smack Niya. The story ended in a way that you know there will be a part 3. I just hope Jamilla realizes what she has in Niya before she is gone.

So Fabiola, I said to myself, now how can the follow up be better than N1, it was one of the best I ever read! Then I sit and I read N2! I am totally blown away! Speechless! Amazed! Flabbergasted! This is one on the most beautiful books, series that I have ever read! You have truly surpassed my expectations! I didn't think it could get any better, however you cease to amaze me! Niya's limited less, unselfish, untamed love and Jamilla's undying selfish, closet love is one of the greatest love stories ever told! I'm now bowing and giving you the standing ovation you truly deserve for this masterpiece! Niya's lyrics and Jamilla's poems just sent it over the top! I can keep going on and on! So here's to you Hun, I salute you for a job masterfully done!

Omg I'm stunned I use to love Jamilla and Niya together but now Jamilla has to go she is getting on my nerves with her constant whining but when Niya ask her if she loves her she can't answer her Jamilla needs to #KILLHERSELF just like that. I'm not Team Brazil just yet but I do believe she is genuine when it comes to Niya. I do believe she is really feeling Niya and not just because her mother came up with that whack plan to use Niya. Fabie did her thing again and I so can not wait for Part 3 the finale it is going to be sad but bitter sweet because I really want Niya to be loved for her finally and not because somebdot want to you use her.

I've just rapped up Part 2 of Niya by Fabiola Joseph and I have to say that she is purely amazing. Fabiola picks up where she has left off with the story of friends Jamilla & Niya as they try to navigate the fine lines of friendship vs relationship. She sprinkles sights, sounds, & emotions all over the pages to construct a tale of love, lust, & fame. She's done it again! I can't wait to see what part 3 holds. I'll be adding that paperback to my collection as well. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world.
