Prophecy #1

Bound by Sin

Rate this book
Synopsis:

Looking in the mirror, I see every physical feature that would make you believe I was a man, but it’s the attributes that you can’t see that make me what I really am. The things I’ve knowledge of, the sins against man that I’ve committed can be described as nothing other than selfish and cruel. I know the answers to things mankind has only fleeting guesses of. I live in the reality that this world has a part of it that is so dark it could only be believed to belong within the realms of a myth, a legend, or a fairytale.

Cast out of grace, made to become demons, and bound by an agreement the story of the Fallen is one that has been kept hidden for centuries. Although I could tell you every detail of how this world was created and recall each detail of history since time began, I cannot tell you if, and how, it all will end. Prophecies warned that a human emotion as capricious as love would rip all control from a Fallen and that ultimately this love would bring an end to all living things, but frankly, for all my existence I’d believed love was too weak an idea to ever bring something as powerful as myself to their knees.

This is the tale of all darkness within this world; this is the story of my legend. Here is where it begins, and although I never believed it would have an end, it ended the same way it began – with a woman, but that’s another story in and of itself.

Not what it seems to be.

No real action in this book. Yes you can see that she is trying to get the book interesting by talking about the sins. But there's really no good plot to the book. I will read the second book and let you know if it was a good book.

OMG!!!! I love it! The start of it all! This Novella was awesome telling the story of HOT SEXY Gavin, showing why and what really happened to him in the begining! How one women can make him fall from grace! A lesson learned the hard way. I couldn't put it down! A must read!

"Within all myths, all the legends lies a glimmer of truth. There are so many questions no mortal truly knows the answer to. They've guessed, they've devised tales of how it all began, of what their purpose was....."

When a novella starts with something like that you KNOW its gonna be good!

I have been dying to read this novella Since reading book one in this Prophecy series. When I found out it was about how Gavin and the other Angels became 'The fallen' I was over the moon! I know we get that he got the boot and told not to let the door hit his ass on the way outta town in the first book. BUT this shows it in more detail, AND what happened over the years to make them and him the people they are today. We know it's because he started the ball rolling all the Angels having there way with mortal girls. This shows who the girl was..... And seriously, can he really be blamed for thinking with what's in his pants(Oh wait did angels wear pants? Hmmm...)then whats in his head. He is a bloke after all! Angel's or not, there not the brightest crayons in the box LOL.

How Angel Semyeza became Gavin.....

This novella will show you it all, right up to the start of book one.... The first encounter......

I liked this book and am very intrigued to read the next book and see what this story is really about. At times I felt like this book was a bit of information overload, there was a lot of information crammed into less than 60 pages! I wasn’t aware before I started this that even though this is a prequel to Bound to the Fallen, it actually came out after that book. Judging by some of the comments in the other reviews I think that had I read Bound to the Fallen first and then went back to read this to get the background it might have not been so overwhelming. But more or less I was able to follow what happened and it was interesting to see yet another take on the origin of vampirism and other supernatural beings. It’s always fun to see a new spin on this mythology. Even though this book was so short and really provided only a taste of this author’s style I did think it was well written and I am looking forward to diving into the first full length book to really get the full experience!

I received this book for an honest opinion.

OMG! JACKPOT!! PARANORMAL AWESOMENESS!! ANNND this is just the begining of the story. OK OK SO this novella was released AFTER the actual novel was but I read it first....Now I have seen a few of my friends loved it and understood that it takes place right when the novel begins so I have to say,....I am excited to start reading the ACTUAL Book.

I was pretty excited since I am a paranormal reader and this amazingly new concept of where vampries evolved from. It really peaked my interst...so if you are a vampire lover like me...you will abso love this story. I mean 48 pages of this pre-story has me hooooooked!!!

*Arc received in return for an honest review.

A brilliant quick read.

Bound By Sin is the first book I've read by Stevie J. Cole, which I read in preparation for the blog tour of the third installment, Bound By Prophecy and I LOVED it!

Although Bound By Sin is the prequel to Bound To The Fallen it was written after it and gives you the back story of how Gavin and the other Fallen Angels are tempted. I loved this unique take on the Seven Deadly Sins and the introduction of the Serpent and Temptation into The Garden of Eden.

If you haven't either of these books then I urge you to read them!

I like the idea of this set of books; Fallen Angels that represent each of the Seven Deadly Sins. This is a good, short prequel, but parts of it I had to go back and read because it was a bit confusing. One minute our "hero" angel is with a woman, then he is chatting with another angel, then he is with the woman again? I got a bit lost during this scene.

I would have given it more stars if not for this bit of confusion; however, it is still pretty damn interesting and I am moving forward. I love alternate points of view and this one is really promising.

Ever wonder how exactally he got to where he is? What were the events that brought Gavin to the place he is? This is his story. How he was tempted how he delt and how he overcame.

I loved seeing the specifics of who Gavin really is and the events that defined him. This is a short novelette that shows how he was tempted and how he delt with the life thrust upon him. Great companion read to Bound to the Fallen.

Ever wonder how Semyeza aka Gavin got to where he is today? What were the events that brought him to the place he is? This is his story.

How he was tempted by a forbidden entity...woman.

How he dealt with his consequences and how he overcame the treachery.

Bound By Sin takes you back to the beginning, before Bound To The Fallen .

You find out how Gavin became.... The Fallen

This took a little too get in to, I didn't want to give up on it, and one it for past the whole explanation of the story and out of the past into a more real time, it got better, enough to make me want to move on to book two.

If you are going to read Bound, I suggest to don't give up on it easily and give it a chance, it is a little confusing but the hot parts of the story didn't come in to play till near the end, so I hope book two doesn't do the same.

This was a great short read! It is a pre quel to Bound To The Fallen. It shows the beginning of how the Fallen Angels came about, how their children were created and the things that happened in the very beginning.

It shows Gavin going through his life as a Fallen Angel and also his first glimpse of Brooke!

Can't wait for the second book!

So I did not realize that this was a short prequel to show how a character from Bound to the Fallen got to be the way he was. So yes this was pretty good got me intrigued to read book number 1 but will I ? Not sure yet.
