I normally don’t start a 5th book in a series, but I found this at a second hand book store and decided to give it a shot. I’m glad I did because I enjoyed the hell out of it. In fact I tracked down the rest of the books and got them for a good price online.

I was also happy to learn that I could follow the books storyline without having read the other books. The book has a prologue that gets the reader up to speed on the backstory so that was helpful.

The Six-Gun Samurai helps out some miners that are being attacked by former Union soldiers that he’s been hunting. (They raped his mom and sister and then killed them and his father. Then looted their plantation of its valuables)

The book is action packed and introduces an over the top despicable villain who’s a bounty hunter after the Six Gun Samurai. The ending fight scene between the two is an absolute gore fest.

Highly recommended. I hope the other books in the series are just as good.
