That ending!! One of the best thing about this author is that she doesn’t make her readers wait long for the next book. Thankfully, because I need to know what happens next!

One thing that Pauls does well is the push and pull between affection and manipulation. That is what makes this dark romance one that you cannot stop reading.
This book had me all tied up! On one hand, Anya is trying to pull away, recognizing that Sav is over the top – using and manipulating her for his own purposes. On the other hand, his dictates and “touch her and die” actions are opening him up to “family” issues.
Pauls goes all in with the heat and edgy behaviors. Sexually, they are hot and perfectly in sync. Actions, however, speak loudly and leave the reader anxious and ramped up! This story is fire and begs you to keep reading it in one setting!
Don’t think you are getting off easily when finishing this book. An off-the-charts cliffhanger will have you gasping! I think this is one of her best trilogy’s to date and Coerced Wife is a huge part of the reason! Book three is yet to come, thankfully soon.

Nooo!!! What a cruel, cruel way to end! Ms. Pauls could not have picked a better way to torment me!
I am completely taken by Sav and Anya’s story. The evolution of their relationship has been absolutely stunning. Not only have they grown closer emotionally but their unspoken feelings of the heart makes my own ache. And of course there is their physical attraction that is the very definition of INTENSE.
Everything about, not only this book but the previous one, is why I read and adore anti-heroes. Especially those created by this author.

Saverio and Anya's second book will leave you utterly breathless and on the edge of your seat begging for more.
Sav really left me speechless with the lengths he will go to in order to keep Anya forever. Anya is slowly sinking under the weight of it all.
The angst, steam, and connection is very real between this couple. The way Coerced Wife had concluded left me with the worst sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach, and I have some time to wait to find out what happens next. Charmaine knows how to weave a magnificent story together to capture hearts and minds.
I can't wait for Coerced Queen that cliffhanger was epic.

A sequel to a great and now favourite mafia series! After I finished Coerced Kiss, Coerced Wife became one of my anticipated reads of November. With the twists and turns, the overall flow of the storyline, and of course, the characters, I'm fully captivated with this series. And the last chapter and cliffhanger ending?! The action reached its peak!

Protective, obsessed and possessive, I seriously cannot get enough of Saverio's devotion, tenderness and considerate nature towards Anya! Yes, in her current predicament, Anya doesn't have many choices, but (when necessary) Saverio does give a bit of control back.

Anya and Saverio's all-consuming attraction to one another takes the center stage in Coerced Wife, the sequel to Coerced Kiss. Their captivating but also dangerous relationship develops at a rapid pace as Anya uncovers more revelations and secrets about Saverio. I liked that this book primarily focuses on their relationship and had many sexual moments between the two. Anya is falling in love with Saverio but there are many roadblocks in their relationship. What I love most about Charmaine Pauls' writing is that she captivates her readers by dialing up the tension and angst between her main characters. Anya and Saverio's relationship may be based on a "lie," but the feelings they are developing for each other are real and devastating. Although Anya doesn't believe that Saverio is capable of loving her, he believes that his insane obsession for her is beyond love—she is his treasure to keep forever and he will never let her go.
In the end, this was a fantastic and necessary continuation to Anya and Saverio's love story. I find it fascinating that the more she distances herself from him, the more insane and reactionary he becomes with his feelings for her. Saverio continues to be a contradictory character because his motives and reasoning behind everything confuses both Anya and readers. Does he love her or not? The most frustrating part about all this is their lack of communication. Instead of answering Anya's questions, Saverio often gives vague answers that allude to something more but it ends up hurting her instead. This book does end with a shocking cliffhanger where both Saverio and Anya are in danger. I fear this might push him to distance himself from Anya to keep her safe. Fans of the touch her and die trope will absolutely love this trilogy.

Book 1 it all started as fake dating and now things are more tense. She in the Saverio's world more offically now & she still has a target on her back and her unborn baby. Saverio swears he will protect her and the baby. I feel sorry for his enemies because no one messes dangerous father especially one very talented with a knife. My heart melt every time he thought of the baby as his own and he doesn't allow swearing a front of the baby. Even thou the baby is still in Anya belly at 5 months. He is a big softie to his Anya but DEADLY to the family...no spolier. I love the banter as always and Dante stills teases Savi about his love for Anya 🤣 The banter just show how comfortable they are around each other and shows Anya getting more confident with her surrounding

It has been well worth the wait BUT...the cliffhanger is killing me. After everything Anya & Saverio been through from painfully slowly accepting there is more there. Both have been burnet by love in the past & we learn about Sav's...no spoilers. This moment in the book I think will push their love more to the surface because we all need a that "event" or "situation" to put life in perceptive...no spoilers
P.s REALLY don't like Luigi he is the devil you need to keep a eye on. I love Giogio & Dante they are true friends to the couple and they love that Anya is a math genius which could help her

It is rare for me to like a second book more than a first, but I think that might be the case this time around. Saverio is such a dream of a man (yes, yes, he is blackmailing her and is a criminal but.... lol) - he treats Anya like a queen in every single way and even though my head knows better my heart wanted to give her a stern talking-to at being so resistant when she should clearly be able to see how much better her life is with him in it and how few men would be as considerate and protective (and possessive and HOT!) To be fair, they both are holding back on their true feelings and if they would just share their truths the constant fighting against their perfection together would give way to the ultimate happiness! Yes, we have some obstacles still to overcome, not least of which that whopper of a cliffhanger... and I can't wait to see how they do it.

Re-read before release of book 3:
I'm removing the 3.75 and making it a solid 4 stars. I liked it more with this second read. The audio was great, and I am excited to see what happens next after that explosive cliffhanger!

Picking up where we left off in the previous book, Coerced Wife takes us on many ups and downs, with lots of push and pull. I wasn't really a fan of how much back and forth there was, but the connection that I feel between these two, I don't even care about it. I love them and their story, and can't wait to find out how it all come together in the last book.

Anya and Sav have become my new favourite dark romance couple. Book 2 launches into the fray right where Book 1 left off. There is undeniable chemistry between Saverio De Luca, de facto mafia underboss, and Anya Brennan, his pregnant captive. Theirs is a fake relationship that began when she witnessed a murder and she became Sav’s alibi. “Boyfriend” becomes fiancé, and when he takes her to attend a mafia wedding, she faces first hand all the danger and prejudice that his world brings to hers.
Despite all the reasons why a good girl like Anya should definitely not fall for a very, very bad boy like Saverio, Anya can’t help herself. Imagine, if your body is already mostly over the edge of the tallest water slide. Girl, those arm floaties aren’t going to save you now! Anya fights falling in love with Sav, but has already slid down the chute and is gaining speed!
For his part, Sav’s actions speak louder than words. It’s not what he says to you, it’s how he treats you, right? Well, Sav treats Anya like a queen, while telling her that everything is all for show. That scorching kiss? A good show. The un-secret orgasms? For show. Over the top protectiveness? Gotta show everyone who you belong to. Looking after your health? For the baby, you know, for show. Every time Anya feels that something is real, Sav keeps reminding her it’s fake.
Oh, Charmaine! You have done it again. You twist my insides around a cork circling the whirlpool. I can hardly breath at times with the intensity of the heartache. The only thing that keeps me clinging on like a castaway on the last life raft is the fact that you have never let me down with an HEA before. Well, almost. We won’t talk about that one time …
I have crowned Charmaine Pauls my Queen of Tortured Romance years ago; my first tortured heroine being Valentina Haynes and the last being Sabella Edwards. Anya and Sav’s story lives up to this. The words on these pages once again demonstrate a top-tier mastery of emotional language and imagery. Reading this story intensifies my appreciation for life because it amplifies feelings and conscience and empathy. Oh my god! Charmaine Pauls is to reading what MSG is to food!!! Words that add flavour to life.

The words on these pages once again demonstrate a top-tier mastery of emotional language and imagery. Reading this story intensifies my appreciation for life because it amplifies feelings and conscience and empathy. Oh my god! Charmaine Pauls is to reading what MSG is to food!!! Words that add flavour to life.

This read will leave you feeling as uncertain as Anaya felt. Sav is offering her protection but he is beyond controlling and showing her that he can never love her! This makes Anaya question their relationship and everything moving forward with Sav.
They are my top three favorite couples in a series. Sav has many insecurities and this was so refreshing to read. Often times we read and learn about the heroine in a series, but this book delves further into Sav’s mind and his background. This really gives you a glimpse into his thoughts and experiences,
His emotions and vulnerabilities.
This second book in the series is unlike anything I’ve read before! I devoured the book in one night and had to go back and read it again…..that’s how amazing of a read it is!

About this story … I’ve already told you guys in my review of Coerced Kiss that the beauty of a Charmaine story lies in the details so I’m not giving you any (probably). I don’t think I ever have with one of her stories and I’m not starting now. Also, try not to read reviews that have details, ktks :)
It has been a long while since I’ve been this captivated and committed to a Charmaine story. Like this is probably in her top 3 best of best. Don’t get me wrong, all past stories have been outrageously good but this trilogy is more. It has that edgy factor that keeps the reader in a state of anxiety for what’s to come but also not really starring at a blank canvas not knowing what’s to come. Feel me? Details people! It’s the details! What did I say! It's her prose. It’s the style in which she puts together her prose and pulls the reader into the story but also pushes. GAH, sometimes I just can’t explain Charmaine adequately!
Charmaine loves to put together light and dark characters and she does it really well. Sav, being the dark one, and Anya, being the light, have tremendous chemistry even when they don’t! Together as characters they are fire and ice and so is their story. It has honestly been spectacular to read. This story is also very immersive. I found myself feeling all the circumstances that were happening even when I knew something was about to twist, I still felt the shock! MAN, I love Charmaine so much you guys! She is truly talented!

Coerced Wife is the emotional rollercoaster i expected to be,and more….so much more!
After that cliffhanger of Coerced Kiss,i needed Coerced Wife badly,but after reading it,i’m not sure my heart is ready for Coerced Queen…..
As always,i’m very grateful that Charmaine was so very generous to give me the ARC,because it meant the wait was shorter,but i really,really need her to hurry with Coerced Queen,or i won’t survive the heartache!
Anya and Saverio may be together,but at the same time,they’re not.
He says he’s keeping her to protect her and her unborn baby,and because she’s his alibi.
At the same time,he’s so very passionate in bed,and caring during the day.
His actions say one thing,his words another.
Anya may have fallen for her captor,but she realizes the way he loved his ex-wife may prevent him from ever loving her.
While he makes sure the baby’s father will never be able to get custody of her baby,he also shows her he intends to be in it’s life,permanently.
After hearing the reason why from his vindictive,spiteful ex,she has an extra reason to worry about everything that’s happening.
When Sav finds out how good Anya is with numbers,he hires her as his accountant,drawing her deeper into his world.
Plus,to make sure she,and the baby,are safe from opposing forces,he announces they’re to be married.
And there’s nothing Anya can do about it….
But what happens at the wedding had me throwing my iPad,screaming in despair…..
Charmaine,you tore out my heart with that cliffhanger,and stomped on it for good measure!

Second book of the series and it does not disappoint. Anya is drawn more and more into Saverio's world. While still trying to come to terms with her fate and now engagement to Saverio, she is unable to deny her growing feelings and the comfort she finds in his arms. Secrets from Saverio's past come to light and rock their fragile foundation. This book is a slow burn leading to a wedding day cliffhanger I did not see coming. Looking forward to Book #3!

What an ending! I’m excited for the next book.
This is the Second book in Charmaine Pauls's New York Underworld Series, and it takes readers on one heck of a rollercoaster ride. Saverio and Anya's story must be read in the order it has been released so you can understand what is going on and become fully invested in this couple, as I have.
I don't even know what to say. So much is going on, and that incredible cliffhanger only intensifies my feelings for this story. Sav is doing everything in his power to keep Anya and her unborn baby safe from Crime Boss Luigi, who wants her out of the picture regardless of the fact she is Sav's alibi for a murder she witnessed. His feelings for her and the baby are evident in everything he does for her, even if his words say otherwise. Anya has strong feelings for Saverio as well, although she is given additional information to question his actions.

In this second part of Anya and Saverio’s story, the threat to Anya’s life is still very real, but more than that, there is now another possible person who might threaten her baby.
I enjoyed this book, but I felt it had a mediocre storyline until the end when it was like a huge scary fireworks display. I’m wondering if the author intentionally set up many things in this story for an incredible final book to come next.
The possibility of one of the main characters being seriously hurt is incredibly shocking. I certainly hope there is some miracle about to happen in the third book. 🤣 It does say a lot when you, as a reader, feel this strongly about the characters.
While I still like Anya, at times, I wanted to shake her. Yes, she is right in the middle of a world she never wanted to be a part of, but I felt she was a lot more negative in this book.
Saverio also needed a light slap to the head occasionally. He made some poor choices, which I felt had a snowball effect. However, his heart is in the right place, and I can’t stay mad at him for long.
I am very much looking forward to reading this trilogy's third and final book.

I devoured this racing through it in one sitting. As a couple, I adore these two Sav especially. How protective and in tune with Anya Sav is well it just warmed my cold heart. Sometimes actions speak so much louder than words and it's obvious Anya has become his whole world. Then we have Sav's deep longing to be a father and all of his actions surrounding Anya's baby he was adorable and I was swooning. It's also so completely contradictory to how he is with everybody else. Sav may be a made man and a stone-cold killer but with Anya, he also shows his hidden vulnerable side and there's nothing he won't do to keep her and the baby she carries safe. He's determined to claim them both for his own he's decided he's keeping them despite any protests she may have.
So despite Sav steamrolling Anya and her life, you can't help but warm to him. It's obvious to anyone with half a brain he's head over heels for this ready-made family. I don't think he's even admitted fully to himself the depth of his emotions just that they are his.
This progressed the story and there were some beautiful moments and sentiments included. Anya and Sav's chemistry was red hot and in that department, there was absolutely no miscommunication they click together. We do have some outside influences raining on their parade though and plenty of doubt from Anya but ultimately it was easy to read between the lines regarding how both these two are currently feeling.
Then there was that dramatic finale and OMG! I was distraught and on edge what a place to leave me hanging. I'm going to be on pins now well at least until I get my hands on the last book. Thank god it isn't long to wait. This series has been fabulous and one of my favourites from this author. It has a lot of my top tropes and Sav is definitely a touch-her-and-die dominant kind of hero. Do yourself a favour if you like mafia romance then pick this one up I promise you won't regret it. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Coerced Wife.

Coerced Wife , the second book in the New York Underworld series will make an emotional wreck of you and leave you at the edge of your seat in desperation. Because you'll want the next book as you need breathing. And do not throw your Kindle, you'll need it to read Coerced Queen when it comes out. Sav and Anya's story is emotionally nerve racking and the suspense is just adding up . They both try to navigate their life and relationship while taking blows from all sides. No wonder Anya is doubting and questioning everything around her. On top of everything she's falling for Saverio even though she knows he'll never fall for her. I think that he's already head over heals for her and is in denial. Those gestures he keeps doing for her are heartwarming and sweet. But the secrets he's keeping are tearing them apart. The angst and the suspense are piling up and make the connection between them even more emotional and steamy. Separately they both prepare for the worst. And their worst nightmares just became a reality. Because after that ending nothing good could come . And I'm curious how all of this will play out. Well done, Ms Pauls , so well done. Now you have as in a twist till the next book comes out.
I can't wait for Coerced Queen after that choking cliffhanger. And if you're into mafia romance you don't want to miss this incredible series.

Oh wow!!! I absolutely loved the first book in this series but oof Coerced Wife was just as good if not better than Coreced Kiss 💋
We pick up right where book one left off and now Sav wants Anya as his wife. Sav goes to extreme lengths in order to keep Anya forever in his life, but Anya is slowly sinking she really doesn't see an end at all. Anya believes that Sav is incapable of loving someone else after what his first wife did to him..but oh she doesn't realise that Sav has fallen and he's fallen hard for his little treasure ( oh that pet name had me 😭🥵 ) the obsession is real with this one lol. Oh the back and forth between these two will have you cursing lol. The angst, drama, urgh the spice is just 🤌🏻 tension is just on edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. Charmaine knows how to suck you in 100% her writing is just chefs kiss it draws you in with a choke hold and it doesn't let you go for anything.

The second book in this addictive trilogy starts where the first book ended. I love Saverio and Anya, and I so want their relationship to work out, but there are so many people and obstacles in the way to their happy ever after. More importantly, they both seem destined to destroy their chances at happiness, irrespective of the other hazards they encounter.
Secrets, lies, murder and broken promises abound between Saverio and Anya, and slowly but surely they are being revealed. It is so obvious they are perfect for each other, yet they continually fight each other and their feelings, and there were moments when I just wanted to knock some sense into their heads.
I am completely addicted to these two main characters and the army of their supporting cast. The ending was as unexpected as it was shocking, and I can’t wait to discover what happens when the denouement arrives in book 3. This was a captivating 5 star read…I received an early copy of this book from the author.

I was on the edge of my seat the entire time ! Ends in a cliffhanger . Book 2 of 3
The deception , the lies and ill intentions threaten to destroy everything in their relationship ! Anya wants to be loved , she wants the relationship to be built on something other than lust . It’s not enough for her .
Sav wants to make her his wife , adopt his child , but why ? Does he have good reasons or ill intentions?
Such a good rollercoaster of emotions . Can’t wait for the conclusion ❤️

What kind of ending was that ugh why?????omg can't wait to read book 3 to see how this ends. Sav was so yummy and just love his possessiveness and him caring for Anya and the pregnancy oh my heart but Anya just kept him at arms length broke my heart. I think Rachele doctored Sav's test results just so she could get away with what she did but maybe I'm wrong maybe we'll find out in book 3. I absolutely love this series so far, it was written beautifully and the story really pulls you in. I highly recommend this book and series and I received this ARC for my honest review

We are back with Anya and Sav and it picks up where the first book left off and I am so happy we are back in their world. The danger is ever present for Anya and Sav is the only one who can protect her and the baby. Their arrangement is going as planned for a now and the closer they get the more complicated the feelings. A few truth bombs were dropped and that ending Charmaine. Really?! I loved this book and I’m anxiously awaiting book 3.
