Rate this book
Senior year should be easy. Unfortunately, it's going to be anything but that for Julianna Sparks.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Julianna moves in with two of her friends, who also happen to be best friends with the guy she hates. But that's not the only issue… she’s three weeks into school, and struggling to understand calculus II. Her need to make her parents proud has her willing to do anything, even if it means putting her pride aside to seek tutoring from Landon.

Landon Taylor’s goal of cruising to the end of his senior year falls apart when his best friends take in the girl he hates. Now he's doing everything in his power to avoid her, and immediately turns her down when she asks him to tutor her. His plan would've worked out until an unfortunate circumstance forces him to agree.

Now they're spending more time together than either one of them would've liked. But as time goes on, they realize that maybe being in each other's company isn't so bad after all. And that there might be more.

But will they acknowledge what it is before the semester is over, or will they let their mutual hatred stand in their way?

I don’t know what E. Salvador puts in her books, but they’re laced with something because every time I start one I cannot put it down until I finish it (I’m not exaggerating) 🤣

I’ve now read all 3 books by this author, every single one almost 600 pages, and I finished them all in less than 24 hours.

I truly don’t know what it is or why I just never feel like there are any lulls in her stories that make me want to put them down, but I just can never stop reading 😂

Again, I loved the storyline, the main characters, the side characters.. I just eat up her writing like it’s my job!!!

Yes, I did cringe a few times in the beginning of this one and it was definitely far from perfect, but I still really liked it. Just like I’ve really enjoyed every one of her other books.

Of course I have to mention it, but yall…. The spice in this…. 😮‍💨😮‍💨 There is no one that can write spice like E. Salvador. Girl has me literally sweatinngggggggg🫦😫😩 I was giggling to myself at 4 am last night hahahahahahahahha. You can tell she got more comfortable with writing it from her first novel, All I Need, because Only With You and Please Don’t Go….. 🤭

E. Salvador has officially become an auto-buy author for me now. If she writes it, I’m reading it. Perioddddd.

OH and the Saint & Daisy crumbs in this book and book 1 have me in agony. I NEEEEEEED THEIR BOOK 😭😭😭😭 I cannot believe they aren’t next. UGH. I’m going to suffer until I get it

I dont even love enemies (dislike) to lovers but this was everything and more 🥹🥹

🩵 Julianna flicked on a light, and suddenly my life doesn’t seem dark anymore. She illuminated the darkest part of my soul, and the strange thing is that with her, it doesn’t feel like it was ever off. 🩵

🩵 ”The space between us feels oddly magnetic, like there’s an invisible string pulling us toward each other.” 🩵

THEYRE LITERALLY SO SO CUTE <3 landon taylor actually deserves the world, and he’s now become one of my fave mmcs ever 🤭🤍 e. salvador is actually eating up this series and I can’t wait to see what she does next. consider me a huge fan !! 💌💐

A 2024 top read for me!

One fender bender was all it took for Landon and Julianna to hate each other for most of the time they've known each other in college. Things begin to shift when Julianna has to room with Landon's best friends and also needs a tutor for a calculus class that Landon excelled at. Despite the animosity between these two, we all know that the one thing love and hate have in common is the intensity of the passion that exists. And BOY do Landon and Julianna have it in SPADES.

I wanted to wrap Landon and Julianna up in a hug and never let them go. They've both had a rough go of it in their pasts, which led to why they both are the way they are. The thing about characters like these two is that they end up having so much in common that once those "enemy" walls start crumbling, they don't go back up. Julianna is the only person Landon's ever been vulnerable with, and it even made me tear up a bit at how much he'd been holding in. Likewise, Julianna has not been able to approach her anxiety from a healthy place until she had Landon (and her friends) help her see that it was ok to seek help. They were each other's safe space, and that's one of my favorite things to see in a couple.

The intimacy was 10/10. With the amount of hate they had for each other, it was no surprise that their chemistry and bedroom activities were explosive. I ate it UP.

Romance aside, Landon himself was such a unique hero/character (no spoilers, you'll see what I mean) and I like that his "unique-ness" was something I'd never read before. And don't get me started on the found family! The author has created the best group of friends who are supportive of each other and seen each other through some dark times.

Definitely check out Landon and Julianna's emotional, but very rewarding, journey to their HEA!

TROPES: enemies to lovers, college basketball, forced proximity, slow burn, no 3rd act break up, mental health rep; degradation kink; each other's safe place, found family

TRIGGER WARNINGS (listed at beginning of book): mentions of suicide attempt (flashback narration), PTSD resulting from sexual assault, anxiety, depression, mentions of alcohol abuse, parental death (happened prior to start of book), parental abandonment/neglect

Only With You was one of those books I really enjoyed, but dang it was long. I don’t mind longer books, as long as they’re fast paced and don’t feel long. Unfortunately the first half of this was so slow for me. I enjoyed the last half much more. Landon and Juliana were fantastic together and as a whole this was a good one.

I wanted to love this book so bad…I really did considering how much I LOVED the original version on Wattpad but I was honestly so disappointed after finishing this version of the book. Someone who’s only read this new version will probably have a different perspective because they have nothing to compare it too, but the original Wattpad version was a MASTERPIECE!!! I can’t tell you how excited I used to be when a new chapter was posted because the connection you had to Julianna and Landon in that version felt so much more special, real and raw compared to this new version. This version felt like the characters had gone through a food processor that took out all of the best parts and came out as something that kind of resembled the original but not at all the same. This Juliana and Landon seemed not as connected and they lacked the chemistry and spark they had in the original. That Landon and Juls were honestly my favourite couple of ALL TIME! It was a true enemies to lovers and grumpy/sunshine book that made you fall in love with the characters and their journey together. And the spice was SPICYYY 🔥 (chef’s kiss)! The original version made you feel what they were feeling, but I honestly didn’t feel much of anything after reading this version other than underwhelmed.

This is just my opinion and I know this book’s author is allowed to do whatever she wants with it since it’s hers but I’ve always believed that “if its not broken, don’t fix it” and the Wattpad version was so loved with millions of reads, so guess I didn’t think there would be so many changes and it took me by surprise because if that made this version of the book unrecognizable…and I’m typically very open to change, especially if it means something is better or improved from before but I don’t think that was the case with this new version and I guess I was just really disappointed.

I’ve read MANY books on Wattpad that were published and became successful, but I’ve never seen a Wattpad book that was published with so many significant changes that if it wasn’t for the name of the author, I would think this is a completely different story that was written by someone else… and I can’t see myself reading this version again. This is obviously wishful thinking…but I hope she decides to one day publish the original story of Landon and Julianna someday, Just With You, because out of all the of books I’ve ever read, that was easily one of my top 5 that I re-read more than almost any book and I absolutely fell in love with the characters and I know if I still read the original version now, I would still feel the same…it was perfection 💔

4.25⭐️ The second book in the Knights Series was much deeper and had more depth to it than the first one did!

Landon, our mmc, had a pretty rough childhood that left him with many emotional scars and Julliana had to deal with some past traumas as well.

I loved how they went from bitter enemies to reluctant friends to lovers, it was so beautiful to witness!

The reason why this wasn’t a perfect 5 star for me, despite absolutely loving their romantic connection, is because of the spice. I am not a fan of the degradation kink or anal sex in general, especially in a setting where it doesn’t make sense, for example a college setting.

* Enemies to friends to lovers
* Amazing banter
* A good amount of angst
* Great found family
* Super cute Epilogue

Note to self for when the next books in the series come out: Remember, you are most interested in Daisy & Saint’s story, because you NEED to know what happened to them. ❤️‍🔥

Only With You by E. Salvador is everything I love in an enemies to lovers romance, but with even more depth than I expected. If you want two characters who have been through so much individually and somehow still find their way to each other, this book delivers in every possible way.

Landon’s story completely pulled at my heart. He carries so much from his past, especially the pain tied to his parents, and he has built walls so high that almost no one gets in. Julianna is dealing with her own battles, pressure at school, impossible expectations from her family, and the weight of never feeling like she is enough. These two do not just clash at the beginning, they collide. But watching them go from hating each other to becoming exactly who the other needs was so satisfying.

Their connection is beautiful, their emotional growth is incredible, and the way they finally open up to each other when they will not let anyone else in absolutely got me. And the chemistry is smoking. If you enjoy kink woven into romance, E. Salvador writes it flawlessly.

I also adored the found family in this world. Their circle feels real, supportive, and full of characters I am already attached to. Honestly, I would read a book about every single one of them.

Yes, it is a chunky book, but it needs to be. Salvador’s stories are big, but every page earns its place. I never once felt like it dragged.

I loved this book from start to finish, and I am already crossing my fingers that we get stories for the entire group because that would be a dream come true.

i finished this book close to 2am, knowing i had to wake up in less than five hours, but i just couldn’t bring myself to finish landon and julianna’s story. i’d been waiting to read it since 2022, and now it’s over? this is the cruel part of investing yourself in a story you’ve been so excited for, only for the book to meet your expectations—and then some. you realise you’ll never be able to read it for the first time again 🥲

julianna and landon are archnemeses who go to the same college. due to unexpected events, julianna ends up moving in with two friends, who just so happen to be best friends with the guy she can’t stand. as if that wasn’t enough, she’s three weeks into the school year and already struggling to get the grades she needs in calculus. swallowing her pride, she reaches out to landon for tutoring, but he’s determined to avoid her and shuts her down when she asks for help… until he changes his mind and agrees, though for his own reasons.

these two absolutely DESPISE each other!! i can’t emphasise this enough 💀 they find one another completely unlikeable and can’t stand being in the same room for more than a few minutes before getting into a spat. it was hilarious watching them in the same friendship group, with their friends trying to stop them from tearing each other’s throats out, but being unable to do anything about it. but despite their hatred, they kept orbiting around each other, like they couldn’t help but be drawn in. and let me tell you, this is slow burn. at one point, i was seriously questioning, “how will they ever become lovers when they can’t see eye to eye?” but this hatred built into some serious, explosive tension between them, and it was SO good to read. i mean the angst and tension (and the spice 🥵) was HOT.

my favourite thing about slow burn is seeing the progression of how a couple is at the beginning compared to the end. i loved watching the small shifts in how they saw each other, how they began to realise that there was more connecting them beneath the surface than they’d initially thought, and that something was tying them to each other. it’s so precious to read about, and that slow progression just made me even more attached to them. we get to see their individual struggles, what they’re going through, and with each new interaction, they unknowingly become each other’s safe haven. they understood each other in a way no one else could. i mean, the fact that landon (who is a MASSIVE grump) didn’t like smiling (he notoriously never, ever smiles) but at one point realises that julianna makes him smile, and he actually likes it… let me just cry.

not to mention the found family scenes in this book. it literally had me choked up at times. these characters care about each other so much and it’s so evident in everything they do for each other. every scene they were together, they were so funny and chaotic and yet, so heartwarming. i’m so excited to read more of these characters in future books and see how they grow together🥹

thank you so much to E for providing me with this ARC 🩵

: ̗̀➛ I am absolutely obsessed with Landon and Julianna! They are the epitome of the enemies-to-lovers trope, and their journey from pure animosity to deep connection was everything I wanted and more. When I read the previous book and saw them at each other’s throats, I couldn’t help but wonder—what happened between them to make them hate each other this much? This book finally gave me the answers, and I’m beyond thankful for that. The slowburn romance played a crucial role in building their chemistry. It wasn’t rushed which made their transition from dislike to love feel incredibly authentic and rewarding. Seeing them slowly open up to each other, breaking down walls, and letting their guards down was heartwarming.

Landon’s story broke me. It destroyed me. It left a hole in my chest. His past was heartbreaking, and watching him grow as a character, especially after letting Julianna into his life, was one of the most satisfying character developments I’ve ever read. He finally allowed himself to be vulnerable, and that transformation was beautiful. On the other hand, Julianna appeared to be the perfect girl—or at least, that’s what her family expected her to be. But beneath the surface, she was deeply lonely, stuck in a toxic family dynamic where she was constantly undermined. I felt for her so much.

“Talking to her made me feel my best.”
“Does this her have a name?”
“Julianna Sparks.”

And can we talk about the tension between them? Absolutely sizzling!! The push-and-pull dynamic, the moments of undeniable attraction, and the buildup made it impossible to put this book down. And the spice? Let’s just say it was perfection. I’m deeply in love with this book, and I know I’ll be rereading it over and over again.

arc review 🎶

how do i move on from this? like someone will literally have to rip this story from my memory cause i am definitely not forgetting this. i can’t emphasize how precious this book is. it makes you scream into your pillow because of how freaking cute it is. not only that but this has to be one of the best enemies to lovers i have read.

julianna is the girl who looks like she is living the perfect life but behind it all really is hurting on the inside. she has gone through some horrible experiences and on top of that having sh!tty parents making her feel ungrateful for wanting her own life when all she wants is their approval. once she realizes that no matter what she does, it will never be enough for her parents it’s like letting her finally breathe. i was rooting for her the entire time 🤭

landon the grump with walls around him that everyone knows not to mess with. this man is closed off and i mean very closed off. but when these walls start opening, you see that he has gone through very tough times and how it still follows him. you get to truly understand who landon is. him slowly getting the courage to actually being able to open up was very brave of him to do!

they both helped each other grow and during that process these two found a home in each other. in a place they never would’ve thought of 💙

i have to mention the banter is this book!! it’s literally why i would say this is one of the best enemies to lovers. you really do feel the hatred they had for each other like it was lowkey kinda mean but funny 😭 BUT THIS IS HOW IT IS DONE!!! then the found family o m g my absolute fav 😌

So I read the Wattpad version but put off reading the published version because of the negative comments I saw from people who also read the original but finally decided to read it and all I can say is WTF! I LOVED THE OLD VERSION! I even waited to buy book 1 and 2 at the same time because I didn’t want to wait to read Just With You (now Only With You, even the original title was better IMO) 📖

I’m definitely deleting both book 1 and 2 from my library and I’m going to try my hardest to forget I read them, and pretend the original Jules and Landon are living happily based on the Wattpad version’s ending in the book verse in my mind where all my favourite characters live (b/c I refuse to believe a character’s story ends when the book ends LOL) 🫣

I don’t know if it was someone else or the author that decided to take this complete new direction but the vibe I’m getting here seems like it was either heavily edited by someone or the author was overthinking everything because all the best parts are gone and and I can only describe this version as boring & bland. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL!!! 🙏

I don’t know who made the author think she had to mess with perfection but if she wanted to write a whole new book, why bother using the same character names and a similar book title…she should have wrote a different book because this wasn’t Julianna and Landon 😢

I think authors deserve to get paid for their work but if this version was a result of overthinking then the author’s writing style was better off writing on Wattpad because it was more authentic and interesting to read her books, instead of this lame and boring version. I honestly can’t believe the same author wrote this version and the AMAZING Wattpad version. Maybe she could have done a creators program or put it behind a paid subscription because this published version was not it! 🙅🏻‍♀️

Reading this version felt like when a company decides to change the formula of your favourite product for no reason and the new version sucks and everyone wants the original version back. I guess I’ll never find out what happened to the other characters which is sad because even though it wasn’t completed, I was so invested in book 3 on Wattpad before it was taken down 😔

I’m choosing not to rate this because I don’t think it would be fair to the author and future readers 🤕

I read the original version of this on wattpad some time ago and loved it. That was a 5 star story. And because of that, it heavily influenced my reading of this. I ended up counting mine 60 major changes between the two including a lot of what I thought were pivotal moments in the plot. I was so heartbroken to see some of my favorite things were removed or changed.

Things like juls and her lollipops, the car racing, the thigh sharpie mark, some of the color talk, the museum night, and more. I ended up making a collection of highlights w the comparisons after noticing so much changed.

I feel like if you go into this story not having read the previous version you might love it, which is why I’d still somewhat encourage someone to read this. However if you read he previous version, maybe consider keep those memories and skipping this 🥲

The initial feeling when I finished was oh this was a 1 star. But I don’t think that’s fair since my rating and feelings are based so much on the comparison. I tried to go in with an open mind but I think I just failed haha.

I’m afraid nothing will ever compare to this one 😭
I’m speechless.
This deserves a fucking altar and I really need to reconnect with nature after these two.
Scratch that. I need to go to another continent, stay in a forest little town, without cars or streets, sit down in the cliff of a very high mountain, throw myself a picnic, sing along birds and touch some grass.
Never thought Julianna and Landon would be so interesting but they were incredibly deep and warm, brutally honest and sad. Def the sweetest but also the filthiest couple I’ve read. Those two were pure fire.
I doubt this author would top this book. It’s so well written, every scene, every plot line, every character is so well done.
I have a profound respect and love for E. Salvador after finishing this one.
This book made me unexpectedly feel everything I was missing out and even more.
I absolutely adored Landon and Julianna’s story and how they built their relationship with so much love and concern for each other 😭 I’m quite sad that I probably won’t find anything like this for me because this was the most pure and deeply love story I’ve ever seen.

Arc Review for Only With You by E. Salvador

💙🎶 Available 22 October 2024 🎶💙

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Only with You is book 2 in the Knights Series. This was a highly anticipated read for me for this year. Ever since I read All I Need I was so excited to read Landon and Julianna’s story. It blows my mind the this is only E’s second book the writing is so captivating and beautiful seriously some of my favourite I have read this year. I can’t wait to see where the rest of the series is going to go.

The banter between Landon and Julianna was incredible it had me giggling kicking my feet omg it was perfection haha everything you want with an enemies to lovers trope. The slow burn was beautiful I loved watching their relationship develop and to see both of them come to terms with their feelings for one another.
At times some of the topics were super heavy with some incredibly deep and raw trauma from both MC’s but I think it was handled with so much care and was written so beautifully.

Landon Taylor just wow! He is one of the most unique characters I have ever had the pleasure of reading. He was so intriguing and complex but also so incredibly beautiful, caring and extremely protective/possessive. I don’t think I will ever get over him! All of E’s characters are amazing but Landon is definitely my favourite now.

I highly recommend this series to anyone especially if you love enemies to lovers, slow burn, spice, basketball romance, found family, he falls first, forced proximity and no third break-up this is the book for you!!

Thanks so much to E for the Arc I feel so appreciative for this and I am so inlove 😍💙

bumped this up to 5 stars cause i just couldn't stop thinking about them.

landonjulianna are so so so special to me. i relate to landon so much with how he was always scared of saying the wrong thing, wanting to do the right thing but getting terrified he'd mess it all up, i related to his character so much and he's def one of the top mmcs i've read this year. he's literally a sweetheart cutiepie with the exterior packaging of an asshole lmao. and omg julianna is my girl, she went through so much all alone and i'm so proud of how she stood up for herself at the end with the help of landon. also that scene where landon thought she was gonna breakup with him??? oh my god. devastating. i was crying my eyes out. he's so scared of losing her, she's his whole life and i was so happy to see how two broken people who'd gotten hurt so much by the world found love & comfort in each other ☹️☹️. i honestly didn't expect to love landon so much cause he was really annoying at the start ngl but he's literally everything to me my angel.

“so this is nothing. if you want to cry or yell at me, then by all means please do it, please fucking fight with me. please do what you want. and while you’re at it, take my heart with you, because it doesn’t feel like mine anymore.”

“i love you and i love all of your parts. the messy, the broken, the unfiltered, i love them all. nothing about you is going to stop or deter that intense and immense feeling from going away. and i really do hate to break it to you, but you’re stuck with me for life."

julianna flicked on a light, and suddenly my life doesn’t seem dark anymore. she illuminated the darkest part of my soul, and the strange thing is that with her, it doesn’t feel like it was ever off.
___________

This is peak romance !!
6 stars !!!
This is one of the most fun reading experiences I’ve had in such a long time.

Romance authors need to take notes on how to write enemies to lovers in a contemporary setting. This was true enemies to lovers. They genuinely hated each other and the hate wasn’t covering up some secret crush they had for each other. And the reason for hating each other wasn’t for some stupid miscommunication.
These two characters had healthy communication. When there was issues they talked about it like adults and moved on.

I had zero issues with the book. It was perfect and everything I wanted plus more.
Enemies to lovers, frenemies with benefits, he tutors her, banter, so many cute moments, there’s degradation, there’s no 3rd act break up. What more could you want.
