I literally ate this book up! If you like cartel/ mafia romance then you need this book in your life! The MMC Enzo is sooo hoooottt! The MFC Catalina is so sassy I loved it! The chemistry and spice of Enzo and Catalina was amazing! I cannot wait for the next book in the Cartel of sinners series! This was my first book I read of Layla Contreras and I'm not stopping! Love love this book!

Dangerous, tempting, steamy and angsty!
A dash of a stalker romance mixed with intricate cartel business and adding a delicious and instant love/lust/obsession.

This was a fast-paced and dark romance following a cartel princess living in a gilded cage and her obsessed bodyguard. I was intrigued from the beginning, and the pacing and storyline kept me on the edge all the way through - I just had to know what would happen next.
Even though I was very invested and it was a quick read, I also think it was just a bit too fast-paced, and could've delved a bit deeper at times.
Enzo was the epitome of obsessed. From the first time he saw Catalina, he knew she was meant for him. His dirty talk, filthy mind, über protective mode and stalker tendencies were all delicious. The way he would literally do anything for his woman is the dream *swoon*!
Catalina was very sheltered and on the outside came off as weak and a bit naive, but she was neither of those. Her past trauma, and her father's treatment of her just absolutely broke my heart, and I loved seeing her true personality come out, especially the way she broke free of the cage along with Enzo's increasing attention and obsession. He gave her the space and opportunity to be her true self.
Together Catalina and Enzo was fire, their chemistry was almost blistering and it was an instant connection. The banter was also great, and I really liked Catalina trying to resist, although I also felt like there could've been a bit more tension between them. However, I loved them together.
The way they were both a little (lot) obsessed, and went against the odds to have a relationship at all was *chef's kiss*.
And the SPICE! Seriously, it was spicing HARD and had me both blushing, heating up and screaming. The dash of BDSM felt both OTT and naughty, and I really liked the execution of it and how it brought them closer together.
My main 'issue' is with some questionable choices Catalina made in her fight for freedom and the consequences of those were devastating and almost too much for me. I liked how Enzo was there for her through everything, but it also felt too quick and a bit much with everything Catalina was up against - however, I also understand it was her way of getting what she wanted and be her true self.
The side characters had me very intrigued and I really want more of them - especially Sierra and Julian.

This book had so much and I was not upset about it. It had Mafia/Cartel romance, stalker, spicy spice, bodyguard, arranged marriage, princess/good girl, overprotective family, and so much more. All of the characters are well written and three dimensional. They have stories in their past that shape them and impact the way they act in the book. The MCs are obsessive when it comes to each other and the supporting characters add so much to the story. I honestly am looking forward to future books with these characters.
I love a dark romance. I love a morally grey man, although I do not swoon over them. So I can look at Enzo and see him for the person he is. He is not a hero. He is a product of his past and understands the violence that lives within him. He knows that there is one person for him and he will do whatever it takes to get her.
Lina is sheltered and oppressed by her overprotective family even though her father acts like she is currency. Her moves are watched and she has to resort to sneaking out to have a life outside of her family home. She’s a princess in a tower in a world of drugs and guns. The connection that Enzo and Lina have is hot and powerful. The spicy scenes in this book are definitely spicy. I found myself not wanting to put the book down when I would get to an interaction between the two. I loved reading their story and getting lost in this world.
I really enjoyed the Cartel aspect of the story. It was very similar to the typical mafia storyline but with a twist. I liked seeing the family interactions with Lina (except for her dad) and how it all played out in the end. This was a great start to a series.

Y’all this was dark, juicy, and a smidge morally compromising!
As you can tell from the tropes, the storyline was well written, entertaining and fueled with steam and angst. The story is told in dual pov and follows the FMC, Catalina and the MMC, Enzo. Their chemistry sinches the pages, so watch your fingers. Catalina was my kinda girl, a bratty princess for sure, but also fiesty, fierce, and stubborn. Enzo gave hella protective, touch her and 🔪 energy, despite the nature of their relationship. I also can’t resist a man with a naughty mouth. The thighs will be clenching. Just take me to confession now.🙏🏾

If you love dark mafia romance this book is for you! Layla present us the story of Catalina and Enzo, and right from the start I love that MAN. From the moment he sees her, he becomes obsessed, we have a little bit of stalker romance mixed with insta lust.
At first the FMC seems a little shy and trapped in the complicated life that her family impose on her, until she meets the MMC and her real personality starts to show through and I just loved that.
The level of spice is strong and well done, that man is HOT and will do everything for her. The spice is balanced well with the pace of the story, there's a lot of action going on so you will never get bored with this story.
I'm so intrigued with the stories of the other characters, so I know this series is going to be a great one. Can't wait for the story of Sierra and Julian!

What can I say about Temptation but what a ride that was. The story of Enzo (hired bodyguard) and Catalina (only daughter of a Mafia Boss) is pure magic and wow so spicy. The obsession Enzo has for Catalina is actually enduring and gives the relationship its roots. Catalina is the definition of sass and there is plenty of it. Between her and her best friend Sierra (oh Sierra my love) they give the boys a run for their money. Catalina doesn't have it easy as the only girl in a mafia family, you can only imagine how protective her brothers can be. After being promised to wed the son of the individual who was responsible for her mother's death you can bet Catalina rebels. Does this get Catalina in trouble with her dad, yes! Does it get her in trouble with Enzo, oh you bet she gets some punishments from this stud. I would 100% recommend you read this book...it is a story of love, revenge, and just a little bit of redemption.

Temptation by Layla Contreras is a mafia romance novel. This book was full of so many tropes but I loved it for that. Let’s see we had the mafia, forced/arranged marriage, alpha bodyguard, instalove, morally grey man with mafia princess woman, and more. This book was well written and the plot well developed. The author took the time to let us get to know the characters and understand why they behave the way they do.
Lina is a mafia princess who is being forced into an arranged marriage. So she does not run away she gets a bodyguard, Enzo. As I am sure you can imagine these two start to take things to a whole different level and the chemistry is definitely hot. Which does not make daddy to happy.
This was an excellent mafia book. I look forward to more books from this author!

This book! Where do I even begin. If you love Dark Romance, Mafia Romance with some stalker vibes and he falls first trope then this is the book for you!
I could not stop reading once I picked this book up. Enzo falls hard fast an in a hurry and ends up becoming obsessed with Catalina. He is the definition or morally grey MMC us Dark Romance girlies and guys love! The spice is freaking spicing as well like 🥵.
So if you love mafia/cartel romances with a cartel princess/bodyguard as well as a morally grey MMC, stalker vibe, he falls first and hard with a freaking twist this is the book for you! I can not wait for book two! Absolutely phenomenal job!

Then Enzo is the man for you. He may have a slight obsession with Catalina. He only watches her every night after laying eyes on her.
Former special ops badass starts his own security company which just happens to get him in the position to watch over her full time. We all know what that means.
Catalina was a phenomenal MFC who doesn’t back down from a fight and has the best kind of brat energy.
Absolutely loved the twist at the end and may have had my heart gutted briefly but I got my HEA and all is well.

I was swooning over Enzo from that first stalkery moment 🫠. Hooked. Done for. And then I got to know him and 💦. Seriously folks, the things I'd let this man do, lol. And Catalina does 😂.
I love a dark romance. Honestly, I was not prepared for some of the dark moments in this book, but oh my heart are they necessary both in this book and the next 👀. I have read an abundance of Mafia books in my time, but not a ton of Cartel romance.
So, this was an interesting change. I really enjoyed the story and the little bits dropped in that nicely set up the next story. And to say I'm excited for what Julian brings.. well, that would be an understatement.

Who doesn't love a good Mafia/Cartel romance? Money, danger, touch her and 💀, spicy men with no concern for their own safety. The Princess trapped away in her gilded cage, waiting for her Prince. Catalina's world was opened by Enzo. He was obsessed at first sight. He would burn the world for her. They had great chemistry, and their spicy interactions were hot. It's always good to a leash on hand. Catalina wanted to take charge and show her worth. Protecting her brothers gave her a sense of purpose and belonging and filled the void of love from her father. But she found safety and freedom in Enzo. The fire that ignited when he first saw her kept burning till the very end.

I've read plenty of mafia romances but this is a first for a cartel romance and it was done so nicely! Especially for a dark romance.
Who doesn't love a man who would burn the world for her and she will gladly be there by his side when he does it all.

I've read plenty of mafia romances but this is a first for a cartel romance and it was done so nicely! Especially for a dark romance.
Who doesn't love a man who would burn the world for her and she will gladly be there by his side when he does it all.

If you’re looking for a fast paced mafia book with a bratty princess and obsessive bodyguard, this is the book for you! I enjoy the dynamic between Enzo and Catalina, I think they are a great couple and their chemistry was great. I would have loved to get more backstory of how Catalina’s mom died and the relationships between her brothers but hopefully the following books in this series will get into that more. Loved this book and I can’t wait for the next installment

Rating: 4.5 ⭐️. Ooooooo this book was definitely a good one to get into and an easy read. I loved the twists of the plot to form the book together. My first cartel book was great to read. Enzo was a different kind of spicy man 😅. Catalina was definitely a FMC that grew into herself based off her surroundings. I didn’t expect the ending was a surprise but I can’t wait to find out more. Definitely trigger warnings prior to diving in.

This book was a quick read but I was glued! The story is about 10% cartel and more focused on the forbidden relationship between the cartel princess and her bodyguard who happens to be her brother's childhood best friend. Enzo obsession started the moment he laid eyes on Catalina and was determined to make her his which became a possibility once he became her bodyguard. She's promised to the families enemy but her brother's will not let it happen. They gain the alliances with another mafia where Enzo gets hit with a surprising truth that will let him make Catalina forever his. While the cartel aspect isn't the focal point, this was a good read!

If you're big into mafia/cartel romances this is for you. Enzo falls first and hard. So hard he stalks Catalina, and she doesn't even know he exists. I devoured this book, Layla gave me a lot of my favorite troupes all in one book, such as BDSM, Mafia, Forced Proximity, Praise. And this book was hot let me tell you. Definitely recommend.

Temptation is a dark mafia romance. This book is perfection!!! Such a great job with how the story is written! Great introduction to secondary characters with enough back story to understand them!! I did not want to put this book down!!! Enzo and Catalina have some amazing chemistry and would do anything for the other. Enzo starts out obsessed and Catalina soon falls obsessed not long after! There were some twist and turns where you just had to keep reading to find out what happened!!!! So now the only question is Italians or Columbians? Read to find out which one is the better one!! Releases August 20th!!

If you love a good stalking, dark, mafia romance with an obsessed MMC who has a dirty mouth then here’s your next read. Enzo is completely and totally obsessed with Catalina and when the perfect opportunity presents itself to be in her space all the time and be paid to watch her he simply can not resist taking it. This book has spice, suspense, violence, twists and turns. It is a great mafia dark romance with all the best tropes

the characters are super well-developed and have rich backstories that influence their actions
the main characters, enzo and lina, have a steamy and intense relationship. enzo is a complicated guy with a violent past, while lina is a sheltered young woman controlled by her family. i’m looking forward to more stories with these characters <3

The spice had me! The twist of Enzo was just what we needed too! Catalina’s father needed to swift kick and too bad her brothers couldn’t manage it.
