The Nurses
A third-year nursing student, Emma Wilson was excellent in her field. Working rotations in the Chicago Southside hospital, she became fascinated with eight student nurses of the past whose black and white photos were on display in the hospital’s cafeteria. She cared too much for her patients, however, and passion overtook her when she lost one of them. As tears and distress overwhelmed her emotions, she gazed at the photos on the wall and lost consciousness. When she came to, she was looking up at the faces of two of the nurses from the wall. She had somehow entered the body of a beautiful nursing student named Joanne Walsh back in 1966. Now as Joanne, she had to learn how to deal with life and the lack of medical advances in the past, as well as coming face to face with a mysterious madman.

I usually don't read time travel stories, but this story interested me because the plot involved a medical plot, and nurses, and the story traveled back to the 60's, along with the present time. This story was based on a true story, I can't give any more information, or I'll give it away-it does have a dark side to it.
Anyway, I was in high school in 1966 and 1967, during the time,when this story takes place. I didn't live in a big city like Chicago, where this story takes place, but I remember many events and happenings during that time all over the country. One thing, I do remember is that in my high school, and growing up during the 60's, we didn't speak or dress like hippies, we didn't do the peace sign everytime we met with someone, or did the drugs,etc., like it was done in the story, lol-"Far out", "groovy", "I dig it", "peace man".

Groovy
Being born in the 60's I experienced some of the world and my parents, well they experienced it too. Dad got drafted. But the day he was to arrive at the recruiting office his recruiter got a call that I would be born and to hurry. I don't know what that has to do with this story but I was compelled to tell it. A novel of such rich emotions and one of the most heinous of crimes really hits you in the heart and gut. Written as perfectly as could be. The time travel explained through Joanne/Emma is superb. Editing is none better. Medical research for this book must have been a time travel in itself. I read this book in one night ending at a time I am usually asleep or on another plain of consciousness. Time Travel is my favorite literary genre. The author delivered. It's so cool man.
