Seth and Chance are twins, now grown up and leading very different lives. Seth is incarcerated and Chance had a part in this incarceration. But Seth is hell bent on revenge for not only the incarceration but a lot of things that occurred in Seth's past.

Chance meets Cassandra in a chat room, and is captivated right from the get go, but Cassandra is not so smitten.

This book started out so well for me with a fast action opening but then the build up of the characters and their back story just lingered a little bit too long for me. From about 70% of the book onwards this story became a page turner for me again with the story moving on at a rapid rate. I am not sure if it was the characters themselves that made me lose interest or the pace of the storylines.

The author outlines at the end that this book was rewritten and I think to captivate a contemporary audition I would update the chat rooms concept.

I did enjoy the storylines overall but I like a book that peaks my interest throughout the book. After all there is nothing better when you cant wait to see what happens next. This did happen for me at the rear of the story so I gave it 3 stars out of 5 because of this.

I was gifted a copy of this book through the voracious readers only site and appreciate the opportunity to read this book from Jerry Leake.

Omg! What a great book! I found myself actually talking to the characters! Jerry Leake has a way of bringing the characters to life, making them seem real and quite believable. The story moved a long at a good pace, the characters developed and grew individually and in their relationships one with the other. The contrast and emotion between the two main characters can be felt when they interact.

This book could have been a total train wreck, you can tell that a great deal of thought and planning went into this story. I’m guessing that Mr Leake had a very complex outline or diagram to keep this all straight and on point. Very well done!

Of course there are plenty of twists and turns and wow moments and surprises. Several things med I found myself thinking WTF?!?! The ending just wow.

Add this to my list of recommendations!

I was given this book by Voracious Readers Only in exchange for my honest review.

I felt the story started a bit slow and thought post-Gen X’s may not understand the infancy of the internet “chat room”. As it progressed, I found myself engrossed and the characters and was hooked. Really enjoyed and look forward to reading more from this author.

Received a free arc. All opinions are my own and given freely.

Starts off pretty slow but eventually builds up. I didn’t hate it but wasn’t really a fan either. I liked that it brought back the group chat from my child hood and made it scary. Glad I didn’t read this book as a kid because I’d never have went on the internet again! Solid creep factor so I’m rating it a 3 just for that.
