With her sister accompanying them in the orchestra, it seems like a symphony of perfection.

Yet, amidst the anticipation, a dissonant note strikes. Violet’s dreaded ex-boyfriend resurfaces, casting a shadow over her newfound happiness. As tensions rise and ominous forces converge, Violet and Owen find themselves entangled in a web of threats and malevolence.

Be Cured or Be Locked Up

What a nice way to finish up the Allegretto Band series! A nice tale of a new job, new relationship, and a jilted lover hellbent on reacquiring love! Well written with music and mentions of characters from the series!

Violet Blooming is a contemporary romance novel and the second book in a spin-off series of the Allegretto Band series.

The novel follows Violet Newman, an opera singer who is preparing for her upcoming leading role in Verdi’s La Traviata in Los Angeles. Which is a super big deal. She is excited to return to LA but finds out that her ex-boyfriend, Mark McManus, has also moved to LA to be the deputy conductor for the opera company’s orchestra. Mark is a terrible human especially the way he treats Daisy, Violet's sister, a flute player.

Violet wants to Mark out of her life, but he spends his time harassing her at work. Then there's Owen Matthews, the principal conductor and random lady who is obsessed with him so much she begins stalking and harassing Violet when they are on a fake date. We love a good trope.

This novel really shows the world of classical music and opera to its advantage and the author's musical knowledge really shines. The story is both romantic and suspenseful. Violet is a strong and independent woman who has overcome a lot in her life, and Owen is a kind and compassionate man who is immediately drawn to her. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and their romance is both heartwarming and passionate.

The novel also explores important themes of social justice, such as ableism and sexism and Violet is a vocal advocate for equality and is not afraid to speak out against injustice. She is also a strong supporter of her autistic friend, Dawn Fitzpatrick, who is a singer and disability rights activist. The novel highlights the importance of standing up for what is right, even when it is difficult. Sometimes though well - written the themes can be a bit overwhelming

Overall, Violet Blooming is a well-written and engaging novel that will appeal to fans of contemporary romance and anyone who enjoys stories about music and social justice.

At last, Violet got her dream job- being the lead at La Traviata and working closely with her crush Owen, the principal conductor. But her happiness doesn't last long- her ex-boyfriend Mark is back in her professional life. Would he be able to weasel in his way into her personal life? How far is he willing to go? And what about Owen’s crazy fans?
Interesting story line but the dynamic and explosion between the main characters was missing.
