#1 New York Times bestselling author Sylvia Day returns to the decadence of the multimillion-selling Crossfire® Saga with Ireland, a searing new tale of temptation, deception, and ice-cold vengeance.
Ireland Vidal is the third generation to control Vidal Records, and she’s on track to lead the recording company to greater heights. She’s the youngest of an affluent, prominent family headed by her eldest brother, Gideon Cross — one of the richest men in the world. Despite her siblings’ outsized shadows, Ireland has carved her own identity. But the clever, stunning beauty with fierce tenacity and a heart of gold has yet to find a man with whom to share her life — someone who doesn’t need her connections to be successful.
Then a chance meeting with Ronan Boudreaux sparks an irresistible attraction. He has it all: wealth, charm, a wickedly irresistible talent for seduction, and he can hold his own against her powerful family. He offers Ireland everything she’s ever wanted, but at what price?
Waiting in the wings, someone from the distant past bides his time until he can unleash his vendetta against the Vidals. He’s got old scores to settle and when he sets his plans in motion, everything and everyone Ireland loves is in his crosshairs.
From the soaring penthouses of high-stakes Manhattan to the opulent mansions and mysterious bayous of Louisiana, Ireland draws readers back into the illustrious lives of the beloved Vidal / Cross family, where the only thing more dangerous than desire is falling in love.

Honestly this 2 star rating is me being generous and it’s literally only because of Gideon and Eva.
This book started off so promising and I genuinely had high hopes but what the hell was that….
I want to start by saying IDGAF about anything in a book except how I vibe with the characters. Ronan was a 50/50 for me. I liked him in the beginning but my God I could not stand him in the end.
Same with Ireland. Everytime they were hooking up I couldn’t even support the romance because the entire time I was thinking “this man literally wants to ruin your family wtf”
I loved Ireland in the beginning too but she started to piss me off
I also hate a lot of characters in this book. Ronans brothers and sister ….ugh….especially the brother such a fucking loser
I’m also not a fan of the revenge plot. It took away so much of the potential this book had.
The saving grace Gideon and Eva? Well she managed to ruin that too towards the ending. She gave them THE MOST UNNECESSARY DRAMA OH MY GOD. Like what do you mean they have a stalker….AGAIN. Like can they just be happy. I thought we’d get cute adorable scenes (which we did) but the pregancy drama became too fucking depressing. And the worst part is the book finished without Sylvia resolving that plot point so now we have to wait. Like why? Why did they need another stalker. 5 books of trauma wasn’t enough for them????
Ugh I am honestly just so disappointed.
And I absolutely hate the fact that of all the characters that get a happy ending it’s Gideons ASSHOLE of a mother!!!!! I just- I can’t even-
I’ll read the next one just for Gideon and Eva but omg she better keep it to a duology because I’m not going through this mess three times.
I loved this. I loved seeing Eva + Gideon again - we get a lot of those two in here! I loved Ireland and Ronan. I loved their insta connection. I loved the mystery about everything.
I did not like Ronan's hair! What is it with people liking long-haired guys? Ew. Gideon and Roarke are bad enough with their hair, but Ronan's is even longer. So not my thing.
I also didn't like the Cliffhanger(s). Why write a series/duet if you let your readers wait a year between books? Write only one book or finish writing both books and then release them within a few weeks/months. Ugh. I hate that.
But I loved this story and I can't wait to see how it will all end for all our darlings! Hurry April 2026!

Eh. It was nice to catch up with Gideon and Eva, and Ireland and Ronan were steamy, but nothing really happened. And when something interesting did happen, the book ended. I feel cheated, I basically finished it in 24 hrs.
I have so many emotions with this book. I love the woman Ireland has grown into. She's fierce and has an amazing love and loyalty for her family, but can also sacrifice a bit of herself for them. And Ronan... holy hotness batman! Ronan is 100 on the hot alpha scale. I was worried he was going to ruin things but he ended up making me love him completely. I'm not sure how I feel about Gideon and Ava having so much time in this book. I wish the author would have told their additional story in a novella and let Ireland have the full focus she deserved. Also, there were a few time I felt the author didn't have Ireland react the way her personality would have made us believe. She didn't demand answers when she should have. I didn't picture her being the 'bury your head in the sand' heroine. But despite all that, I love the intensity of Ireland and Ronan's attraction from the very start. I'm eager to see where this is going.
Book ok, good to catch up with the Crosses- but I'm fed up with having to wait for yet another book to see what happens! Why don't they advertise this before we order the book? Feel shortchanged!
Eh. I was so excited for this next instalment. Bared to you was one of the first adult romance books I read when I was younger, so to dive back into the crossfire world with a book centred on Ireland, I was more than ready. And of course, I was hoping we would see Gideon and Eva again and where they had gotten up to 10 years on.
I was fully expecting a similar vibe to bared to you. I hoped Ireland would meet her own 'Gideon 2.0' aka. alpha possessive male who actively and relentlessly pursues her, but the book fell completely short. The sexual chemistry between Eva and Gideon in Crossfire series couldn't be matched... Ronan and Ireland's relationship felt formal, hot, and then cold, I couldn't get behind it. It was supposed to be an enemies to lovers trope that wasn't delivered well.
I didn't feel the characters had any sexual chemistry and the lack of smut in this book...my word. I got almost 100 pages in without even a kiss. This is not the Sylvia Day book I signed up for! The sex scenes were infrequent and not hot. Where are the spicy scenes and dialogue we see in Bared to you or The Stranger I married? I think at one point Ireland said to Ronan and I quote, 'Let me see that big beautiful c***', and I about died from the cringe and embarrassment.
I didn't connect with Ireland or any of the characters. Ronan was annoying, randomly speaking in French and calling her 'cher' constantly (how annoying). I didn't like that he was 40, from the bayou and wore crocodile boots. The image formed in my head wasn't of a rich, good-looking, powerful mogul like I saw Gideon but more an elderly version of crocodile Dundee... not so sexy.
The only takeaway from the book was that it was great to see the original characters again but even this was ruined. After 5 books, give Gideon and Eva and HEA. To hear 10 years on they are still dealing with yet another stalker and threats is crazy. You could almost skip this book as their story hasn't changed much since we saw them last. To have waited so long for a spin-off series to read this was so disappointing.
And don't even get me started on the cliff hanger...this book does not need a sequel.
sad to say i’m dnfing . I love Gideon and Eva but this book is causing a major headache . i’m already over it . and don’t get me started on it being 3rd person
Wanted to love this, but alas it wasn’t quite there for me. Nonetheless a likable and enjoyable read.
I adore Day’s writing and world-building style, but it was unnecessarily wordy at times where I just wanted more of the story than detailed descriptions.
Must have dropped the ball not realizing it would be a multi book series. Not sure how many installments, but SD should state a target date as to when the next will be published, especially after the Crossfire debacle.
All in all, a good read and happy to see a lot of Gideon and Ava.
look I love Gideon and Eva so much 🥰😍 and I'm glad for more on them but at the same time why does it feel like Ireland is having to share her story with them....🫠 also I guessed what was gonna happen right away 😩 also The MMC is gives off such feral hott vibes.💦 ...i did like the whole Enemies to lovers vibes.. I felt like the plot got better the second half of the book. that ending is so good cliff hanger.. can't wait for book 2.
"God, he was stunning. And so totally male. He exuded sex and sin."
I was thrilled when I learned we were getting Ireland's story. The Crossfire series is one that I have reread numerous times, even doing a reread again prior to diving in here. And I'm so glad I did. Because Ireland has really grown into a badass woman. But it hasn't always been easy. People using her for her family's name. Her family protective of her, never trusting her to handle issues that arise.
When she meets Ronan, the attraction is instant. I mean he oozes sex appeal!!! And the way he champions her!! SWOON. But what's that saying, sometimes things aren't always as good as they seem... That is what you'll find here. There's spice and secrets. Plans of revenge. And also more Eva & Gideon!!!! Their story continues here too. Which I am so glad for. It's tying up the loose ends I felt the Crossfire series left us with. It all just kept me captivated throughout.
A few things that kept me from 5 Star loving this, is firstly, some of the spicy word descriptors. Also, how the POV bounced back and forth so much- I often wasn't sure who's POV it was at times. And lastly, as hot as their first time was, it felt like the wrong timing. Regardless, I really enjoyed this one and am looking forward to much more in this series. Especially after that cliffhanger of an ending!
IRELAND BY SYLVIA DAY Many years ago I read and reread and reread the CrossFire saga series and it holds a very special place in my heart. I will always go back and reread these series forever. Gideon cross was and is one of my very first book boyfriends that I fell in love with his and Eva's story. So when I come across IRELAND I was ecstatic as it is book 1 of 2 of a brand new spin off series following Ireland, Gideon cross's sister.
What a disappointment. Ireland’s whole story line just sucked. While I only enjoyed the Eva and Gideon chapters- they made zero sense to be added to the book. I won’t be reading any more of this spinoff.
Ireland is the first book in the Crossroads series written by Sylvia Day.
What to expect: *Age gap *Billionaire romance *Cliffhanger ending
This review will include spoilers, so don’t read if you aren’t ready to hear what happens throughout the book.
This book picks up a decade after the Crossfire series ended. Eva and Gideon are featured in this title, but not the main couple. The other family members are also circling around in the book.
Ireland and Ronan first meet in a club, she does not know who he is and hides her identity from him. Ronan knows all about Ireland, her family, and Vidal Records. In fact, his family is in town to demolish their recording business and destroy their family due to something happening in the past that involves the fathers of Ronan and Ireland. It isn’t explained in the book what happened in the past, more to come in the future books I guess?
The main characters are very instalust, both feeling it until the harsh truths start coming out. This book is full of secrets and lies, not only between the main couple, but also Gideon and Eva. Can we not let that couple have a few years of peace and quiet?!?!
MMC does flirt with OW at a club and take her back to his room after Ireland tries to end the relationship with Ronan. The OW tries to kiss him and he kicks her out of his room. This is all off page but he tells the FMC about it later that same night.
MMC also has a fiancé back in New Orleans?!?! He says that they aren’t engaged but everyone back home says that they are and the fiancé was naked and waiting on him when he went back for a visit with his grandmother and father. He ignores her being naked but does kind of flirt with her when he tells her about Ireland, the fiancé doesn’t seem to mind that Ronan is seeing Ireland and flirts back with him. Since the book ends on a cliffhanger I guess we will find out more about that relationship in the next book.
The book ends with Gideon on his way to confront Ronan about his plans, in the meantime Ireland finds herself in a compromising position while trying to leave a party.
The next book in the series isn’t a scheduled for release until April 2026, not sure if I will continue the series or not. It was written well, I just hate cliffhanger endings and waiting that long in between releases.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sylvia Day LLC for the opportunity to read and review this title.
I HATE giving one star reviews…but this book couldn’t escape this sad rating.
I struggled hard with this book. While I enjoyed the series this spinoff originated from, I found this one boring. I tried to fall into the stories and characters, but my mains would wander or I would put the book down to do something else.
I didn’t believe the chemistry between Ireland and Ronan. At first it just felt like instant lust for me, but it was sort of the same thing for Eva and Gideon and I didn’t mind. I guess the love just fell flat.
The little clips of Eva and Gideon? We had a love/hate relationship. Yes, it was nice to see them again. However, I felt it took away from the story of Ireland.
I wish I had liked this book. Maybe the next one will be better.
*An ARC was received in exchange for an honest review.
I always loved Ireland in Crossfire series. She always had a fierce personality and now it shows throughout her book. As always it’s awesome to see my favorite couple who started my reading journey Gideon & Eva were my first book loves.
Ronan was a surprised, it added the right spice with his New Orleans gentlemen aristocrat southern behavior. He’s smart, rich and has planed revenge for years for his family. I can’t wait for the reveal of Christopher Sr secrets, especially since he divorced his wife because of her secrets.
Of course there is another threat for Gideon & Eva and love how protective Gideon is and to see Eva’s father working for Gideon and how their security staff has increased. Gideon at his best when protecting his wife. N yes 🙌 always reread crossfire series once every couple of years.
Let me start off by saying I absolutely loved the Crossfire series. In fact, I’ve read the entire series a few times. I could not get into Ireland’s story. From the little we know about her from when Gideon was at his family’s house - I was expecting Ireland to be different and maybe that’s why I had a hard time connecting to these characters. I’m really not sure. I did skip around until I finished this story, but I just didn’t care how the book ended unfortunately.
Love the glimpses into Gideon and Eva life, but found it difficult to get absorbed into Ireland's story. She comes across as flighty and one dimensional. Just meh for me sadly...
Both MCs extremely unlikeable, smut is so cringe I skipped it. Stupid plot, the entire thing so unfathomably idiotic I hated Eva and Gideon so much (side couple) I went back and read Bared to you and it’s so obvious to me now, it was trash too. Clearly the better written of the two popular twilight fanfics but ridiculous and stupid nevertheless. Booktok will love it.
Ms Sylvia Day did not disappoint with Ireland's story! She knows how to captivate her audience because she just KNOWS her audience. Ireland is all grown up and she is fierce! A strong female main character is always appreciated here because her mmc's are always very alpha male. And Ronan was no different. Ooooh, the swagger of Ronan Boudreaux... The complete male-ness of him completely had me hooked. He was filthy but sweet, rough but gentle and enamored with Ireland. His and Ireland's chemistry was off the charts, as I expected it to be. This was a momentous set up for this new series and I can't wait to continue!
I wasn’t sure if the intense and spicy romance of the Crossfire series would translate to a story about Ireland. Man, was I wrong! Ireland is all grown up and this book has all the steamy romance of the previous novels. The H is brooding, intense, yet charming. There is a lot of Gideon and Eva in this book, too. I can’t wait for second installment!
