Once destined for Broadway stardom, Francesca “Frankie” Lombardi left New York—and dancing—behind after a devastating betrayal stole her spark. Reinvented as the glamorous wife of NASA astronaut Ed Maxwell, Frankie plays the role of confident hostess and loyal friend in Stardust Beach. But behind her flawless façade is a woman still aching from loss… and terrified to hope for more.
Her marriage is quietly unraveling under the weight of unspoken grief, and the life she’s built feels as fragile as glass. Frankie can’t bring herself to talk about the heartbreak that keeps her from starting a family—or from dancing again.
But friendship has a way of cracking even the strongest walls. And as the women of Stardust Beach begin to see the cracks in Frankie’s carefully constructed world, she’ll have to decide if she’s brave enough to step back into the light… and finally take center stage in her own story.
Poignant, empowering, and full of heart, Stardust Book Two explores the cost of silence, the power of chosen family, and the healing that happens when women hold each other up. For fans of Pam Jenoff, Elin Hilderbrand, and The Astronaut Wives Club.
I loved this second book In the series. The characters are all developing and I feel like they are becoming my friends. Can’t wait to see the next installment, Thankyou Stephanie for another great series!
LOVED it!!! This setting is really grabbing my attention. The time period is intriguing. I never knew I’d love reading about the 60s like this. Im definitely not a space fan and fortunately, these books are more about the goings on in the NASA employees’ private lives as well as the women who support them. Not cheeky, not trashy. Intelligently written and wonderful imagery.
Book 2 is primarily Frankie’s story. She was once a Rockette, but she’s lost her love for dancing and has serious trust issues with her astronaut husband. Will she be able to find true happiness with the help of her friend Jo and her parents? Stephanie has captured the 1960’s brilliantly, and the characters are intriguing. You don’t want to miss this one!
This is such a great series. I like how they are doing a deep dive into each of the characters so that we feel as if we really know them. I especially like the way the female characters are evolving from chapter to chapter. The author paints such a vivid picture of the era that we feel as if we are there in person. Since that was my era too I know that the depictions from foods to cars to clothing are spot on. I think that this series would make a perfect TV series. My new favorite author!
A light women’s fiction/historical romance that was easy to read. If you enjoy stories of reinvention, friendship, healing, and quiet resilience, it’s a solid pick. Taylor’s no-nonsense style allowed me to jump right in. Excited to read book three and learn more about this group of friends as they walk through life as women, mothers, friends, wives and what that looked like during the race-for-space era of Florida.
3/5 stars - I thought I’d like this one more because I liked Frankie so much in book 1 but this one didn’t really grab me until the last little bit. Has some dark past moments but the way Frankie decides to tell her story is beautiful. I also didn’t love that Ed was painted as Mr Perfect here when he seemed kind of sleazy in book 1.
The glimpses of Frankie from book 1 made me sooooo excited for her book...and it did not disappoint. She is dynamic and interesting and captivates you. This was an easy story to get lost in.
