Rate this book
When a daring travel vlogger impersonates her lookalike to complete a bucket list task at an exclusive resort, she never expects to fall in love with the billionaire owner while hiding behind a web of lies in this twisty romance from USA Today’s bestselling author Cassie Verano.

Anyssa Kelley, a YouTube travel vlogger, is ticking off 30 items to complete before her 30th birthday in 90 days. The most elusive item on her thirty-before-thirty list is to fall in love. Yet, on her quest, she accumulates a string of meaningless affairs and an indiscriminate reputation.

Over dinner with a group of travelers at a resort, she meets vineyard owner Camila Martinez, who resembles her strikingly. The two become fast friends when Anyssa learns about Camila’s tour the exclusive invitation-only resort Belle Baie in Mauritius for work research or return home for her father’s emergency surgery. Piqued by the intrigue of the resort, Anyssa suggests she should go to Mauritius as Camila, promising to complete Camila’s assignment. Armed with a fake ID, Anyssa heads to Belle Baie, ready to research and tick off the last item on her list...finding a forever love.

When she arrives, she meets and clicks with Belle Baie’s owner, wealthy Colombian real estate mogul, Nazário “Nazar” Rivas. As their attraction grows, Nazar is afraid to lose his heart to Anyssa because he trusts no woman after suffering a devastating loss years earlier. But Nazar can’t deny he’s falling for her. Only to him, she is Camila.

While Anyssa is fearful of revealing the truth, Nazar’s past comes back to haunt him and threatens to take him away from her forever. Can Anyssa and Nazar survive the damaging impact of their realities, and will their deceptive ways destroy their love connection?

I received this book from NetGalley to read and review. I really enjoyed this book. The BDSM aspects were a surprising touch. Anyssa was a free spirit that did whatever and whoever she wanted. Even though she wanted to fall in love, she didn't really act like it. Sis was just out here giving herself away for the thrill of it until she met Nazar. The attraction between these two is instant, but Nazar fights it. Nazar is still struggling with the loss of his wife and doesn't want to let anyone else in. He also doesn't think anyone can handle his form of BDSM. This was one spicy read from beginning to end. I enjoyed the growth of both main characters throughout the book. There was a surprise in the book that I didn't see coming, but it was needed. I wouldn't mind seeing more on this couple.

When I read the synopsis to this book it sounded interesting; however, the delivery didn't quite do it for me. To me, it seemed like there was a lot going on in the book. I liked the idea of the bucket list but the way it was written in the story it kind of messed up the flow a little to me. Also, if the thing Anyssa wanted the most on her list was to find love before 30, some of the choices that she was making on her travels prior to Belle Baire didn't necessarily seem to go with wanting to check that off the list.

Once Anyssa met Nazir they did seem to have a connection although it appeared sexual at first but then the times they were together away from the sex you could see the connection a little bit more which I appreciated. However, when the revelation was made I felt like Nazir gave up too easily for what he was feeling for Anyssa and I felt like more of a conversation could have been had. Outside of what was going on with Anyssa and Nazir we also saw some of a relationship between Anyssa and Camila and Anyssa's mother that seemed to come out of nowhere and felt like it took away a little from the romance aspect of the book.

Overall the book was okay to me but I think if there had been different choices made in how it was written I may have enjoyed it more than I did. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher Black Odyssey Media for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

90 Days to Love (Kindle)

I'm a mood reader, and I knew this book was going to be good, so I kept pushing it back. But now that I have read it, I'm happy I bumped it up on my list. This was a good book that touched on some heavy topics, like grief, losing someone, and also found family. The bucket list was nice to see as well.

Chapter 23 was my favorite, simply because they had a heart-to-heart, and Nazmair was telling his truth about his ex-wife, Bella, and the baby.

90 Days to Love

This book did not live up to its beautiful cover, unfortunately. I didn’t connect with the characters, the twists, or the way the conflicts were resolved. The spicy scenes couldn’t salvage the story for me.

I was perusing the books at my local library when I saw this book was one of the staff picks. I randomly pick up library books while browsing maybe once or twice a year; I usually prefer to request a book that I've had on my TBR rather than be spontaneous in my reading choices. However, I saw that the FMC on the cover was dark-skinned and the author was a black women. As someone who fits both of the criteria, I wanted to give it a try and support other black women writing about black women because it isn't the most common.

"90 Days to Love" has a dual POV with the FMC, Anyssa, and the MMC, Nazar, which I enjoy in romance novels. I love seeing what the other half of the couple is thinking. While I enjoyed Anyssa, despite her character coming off a little surface level, Nazar took some getting use to. I haven't read many BDSM novels so reading about dominant men isn't my expertise. However, the MMC who I do know about who enjoy BDSM are not as disrespectful and unpleasant to their friends, family, and colleagues/employees. They may be a little rough around the edges but they are generally likeable. Nazar is not that. He starts off unlikeable, gets a little better (and sexier thanks to the author), and by the end his new change of heart honestly makes him seem fake and ingenuine.

The writing of the book itself was lacking and that was evident from the first few chapters. I hated how Anyssa would have a conversation with someone new and after their conversation she would explain who they are, their personality, and what they mean to her. It just took me out of the story a little. It felt like I was listening to someone read me their journal, which was interesting because she did include her journal prompts and video journal descriptions as a part of the story. However, as the plot thickened in the last 50 pages of the book, the writing improved slightly. I enjoyed the plot twist, but I feel like it was introduced too abruptly. Furthermore, the relationship between a lot of the characters (Anyssa/Nazar, Anyssa/Camilla, Anyssa/Mother, etc.) could have been explored more and the book could have been better.

Overall, it was a good spontaneous read. I'm glad I tried something outside of my TBR. Also, I noticed very few people have read this books so I wanted to give a more in-depth review in case someone else spots a copy in the wild and thinks about giving it a try!

This was such a fun read!
Travel YouTube blogger Anyssa Kelly is getting ready to turn the big 3-0.
she has complied a bucket list of things she would like to accomplish/experience before turning 30.
Single (newly divorced) and traveling the world, she is in search of adventure and maybe even real love. On a business event, she meets Camila Martinez; owner of a large vineyard business. They become good friends after discovering that not only do they look very much alike but share a strong entrepreneurial vision. Camilia and Anyssa sign a contract (Alyssa signs a DNA) Having to care for her dying father, Camilia gets Anyssa to go in her place to an exclusive invite only resort and meet with the property owner in hopes to win a new contract for her Vineyard business. Anyssa must pretend to be Camilia.
Upon arrival at Bell Baie Resort on Maritius, Anyssa is shocked to discover the resort caters to a BDSM lifestyle clientele. Determined to help Camilia win the new contract, she decides to stay and signs an NDA with the resorts wealth and very handsome owner Nazir Rivas.
This is such a meet cute story! Nazir and Anyssa bond. The chemistry and tension between these two are hot. Nazir introduces her to BDSM play. Lots of foreplay, toys, bondage, really spicy moments shared. The dynamic escalates, and Anyssa learns all about Nazirs personal life and past trauma. She is haunted by her secret identity, and just as she realizes things are evolving into more than just play, her past comes back to throw everything upside down.

This is a light romance plot. It's great for anyone wanting to dip their toes in BDSM and a bit more dark play than your usual Rom-com. If you enjoyed Fifty shades but wanted a hell lot more BDSm play/detail, you will enjoy this. Light but hot. Would highly recommend.

Thank You NetGalley for my advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

First things first - check your trigger warnings people! Not only is this BDSM, there’s weapon play and at least one scene that might feel like dubcon.

Not with that out the way, I enjoyed this book despite some of the other reviews. It kind of felt like it started slow and I wasn’t sure I’d like Anyssa but if you give it time and allow the layers to peel back you may be pleasantly surprised. The backstories of both Anyssa and Nazar were more than I expected and for this to be BDSM and erotica, they connected well, seemed to accidentally build a friendship which was cool to me.

My only complaint is when Anyssa went home and had her situations, it would’ve been nice to have at least one Nazar chapter in between to see how he was handling things. I enjoyed Anyssa’s story and everything with Camila but it did feel like we briefly forgot about Nazar. That’s possibly me being nit picky because it’s literally chapter arrangement, not at all a content issue. All of the pieces of the story were good to me.

I’m someone who likes dark romance so I enjoyed the spice, felt the beach vibes, the secrecy added to the vibe. It was an enjoyable read for me. It was my first Cassie book and I’d read more!

90 Days to Love is a fun, steamy, and heartfelt romance which perfectly aligns with the summer heat. Be WARNED, you will NEED a fan! 😜

The Book follows the MCs, Anyssa & Nazar. Anyssa is on a quest to complete her bucket list before her 30th birthday. The premise of the story was entertaining and fun. Anyssa and Nazar sparked from the getgo and they had several steamy encounters together. Nazar had his own demons to fight, but ultimately he failed to resist the pull of their chemistry. I enjoyed the friendships, connection, incorporation of BDSM, and the bucket list endeavors. I also appreciated several of the heavier themes featured around love, loss, and second chances. This added depth to the storyline and created an interesting narrative.

This was a new to me author and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to read her work. I hope to read more in the future. If you are looking for your next beach read, make sure to grab a copy of 90 Days to fun.

***ARC review from NetGalley***

90 Days to Love is easily one of the best books I’ve read all year. Not only does it examine the complexities of growing [romantic] love between two people, it also looks at self-love, familial, and platonic love.
Anyssa Kelley’s turning 30 in 90 days, and she’s got a list of things she wants to do, beforehand, including finding love. Along her journey, she meets Camila Martinez who could pass for her look alike, and the two decide to pull a switcheroo which launches Anyssa on quite the adventure. She finds herself at an exclusive resort/vineyard owned by the handsome and mysterious Nazário Rivas, and upon meeting him, their attraction is explosive. (The book is QUITE spicy 🤭😆🔥)
I was completely immersed in the pages as Anyssa navigates through self-discovery, evaluates her self-worth, and what it truly means to love. The author’s ability to make a fictional story so visceral, realistic, and relatable was truly remarkable. She left not one loose end as the subplots help tie it all up in one beautiful bow. Bravo, Mrs. Verano, bravo!

This story immediately pulls you in with the daring escapade of travel vlogger Anyssa, who steps into her lookalike's shoes at an exclusive Mauritian resort. The vibrant setting of Belle Baie comes alive, providing the perfect backdrop for a blossoming, yet complicated, love story.

Anyssa's initial goal of ticking "fall in love" off her bucket list takes an unexpected turn when she meets the enigmatic owner, Nazar. The connection is undeniable, and Verano expertly builds the tension as their feelings deepen amidst Anyssa's deception. Nazar's own emotional baggage adds another layer of complexity, making their journey all the more compelling.

The stakes are high, and the looming threat of secrets being revealed keeps you turning the pages. Weaving together the thrill of the impersonation with the tender development of Anyssa and Nazar's relationship. If you're looking for a romance with a dash of intrigue, revelations, and a stunning location, and characters you'll root for, give this a go.

I wasn’t exactly sure what I was expecting but you should suspend your expectations when reading this book. WE open with Anyssa who is a travel blogger and very much in touch with her sexuality. She receives an opportunity to attend an exclusive resort, there is just one catch, she has to go under the identity of someone else. While there she meets the elusive Nazar who is the owner of the exclusive resort. They are instantly drawn to each other but Nazar has particular tastes and needs.

I liked a lot about this book. There are secrets, intrigue, tense family relationships and a lot of steam. Nazar has a past that haunts him and Anyssa makes him let down his walls. This book is way more complex than the book description makes it seem. I enjoyed this book, it’s high spice with BDSM themes so if that kinda thing isn’t for you, consider this your warning. Interesting character ARCs and just enough mystery to keep you turning the pages.

This book was one that I was excited to start and had a hard time putting down. I was drawn to this book from seeing the cover and reading the description. The story sounded so interesting and unique. I think Cassie Verano did a great job at capturing the reader's attention. I also loved that Anyssa was an independent and liberated woman. Although I liked the book, the plot fell a little short for me. Anyssa has a "30 before 30" checklist, and one of the biggest things on the list is to fall in love. It seemed to me that her and Nazár fell more in lust rather than love until the very end of the book. There was not enough of an emotional and romantic connection for me to believe they were in love. I would definitely recommend this book to someone who is looking for a steamy book that will keep them engaged. Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC!

I was so excited to read this as the cover grabbed my attention from the start.

I wish I could say that I loved it but unfortunately I didn’t. I understood that it was an erotica going into it (I love a a good spicy book as much as the next person) but I wasn’t expecting the bdsm. Such a far cry from the gorgeous cover. To be honest I almost dnf’d at the knife play scene as I find that kink to be quite triggering & it makes me so uncomfortable. Some of the other sex scenes felt less hot and more like a joke. I’m sorry but calling your vagina a va jay jay (FMC said in head but still weird) during sex isn’t sexy.

Other than that the writing style just wasn’t for me.

Wasn’t a huge fan of the portrayal of the mmc, he was lowkey misogynistic asf (saying things like women have a place in a man’s life to stay home and build a family, women want to “be men” nowadays for wanting lives outside the home) and didn’t undergo much character growth in my opinion. Also, I’m not sure why it isn’t mentioned anywhere in the synopsis that this book has a strong BDSM focus. It’s not a bad thing, but I think it’s fair to give readers any type of heads up about that being a huge part of the spice in the book. I wouldn’t consider it a spoiler because she finds out the resort is essentially BDSM island not that far into the book.

I also felt iffy about some of the messaging around “needing” to forgive people who have been abusive.

I struggled with this novel mightily, but part of that can be attributed to my relative apathy towards the main characters for most of the read. I didn’t buy their love story or find it particularly compelling, and the steamy sex scenes weren’t enough to motivate me to suspend disbelief. Some of the dialogue also felt stiff and stilted, which made me feel distant from the characters at moments I believe the intent was to draw us closer. The travel aspect and the familial dynamics had promise, but they didn’t take up enough real estate (in my opinion). Despite my reservations, I still appreciate the ARC!

Anyssa was sowing her sexual wild oats even though she was looking for love. Then she met Nazar. Nazar and Anyssa felt a connection from the beginning. Nazar was fighting his feelings due to his past. I was glad when he finally decided to come around and accept the love that Anyssa was offering him. Nazar showing Anyssa his BDSM side made the book a sizzling read which I enjoyed. I loved the friendship that formed between Anyssa and Camilla. Their decision to do the swap added another dimension to the book. The twist was a total surprise, but it added to the overall flow of the story. Another great book by Ms. Verano that I highly recommend!!

90 Days to Love had plenty of drama and some really spicy moments. The story follows Anyssa and Nazar, whose relationship starts off on shaky ground with a lot of secrets and misunderstandings. The spicy parts definitely made it more interesting than a typical rom-com. But sometimes, I didn’t totally believe they were in love. At times, it felt more like attraction rather than real chemistry. But overall, it was an easy and fun read with spice!

My review:
I love how free and transparent Anyssa is with her sexuality. She is living her best life! She is looking for true love. This book starts off very spicy 🌶️.
This was a really fun read. She has this bucket list of things and experiences that she will like to complete before her 30th birthday.
She is navigating between self reflection, looking for real love and self love.

I definitely recommend this one.

Anyssa, is a YouTube travel vlogger. In 90 days Anyssa will turn 30 and she has 30 items listed on her bucket list to complete before she turns 30. Anyssa was not particularly looking for love, but she meets Nazar and things change. Anyssa has a secret that she is keeping from Nazar and Nazar is not willing nor ready to love again after the loss of his wife. This is an entertaining read, great characters and a great plot that held me captive from beginning to end.

The cover of this book is incongruous from the expected content inside. I expected a cute little rom-com. What I got was the Disneyland version of 50 Shades of Grey. I mean, as far as spice and kink goes... It was fine, but I'd be hard-pressed to say that I bought that either of these characters were in love. 2.5 stars.

Outstanding Storytelling

This book is a pleasant surprise. I was looking to read a nice, comfortable romance novel, but what I read was somewhat the opposite in a good way.

The main characters were memorable and believable. I enjoyed the storyline as well. I will say that some of the secondary characters irritated me at no end, but I am sure this was the author's intent, to show character flaw.

I recommend this book. You should add this to your TBR list. The book is SOLID!

This was a fun twist on a rom com! Loved the plot and concept while enjoying some of the twist! Some of them, I didn't see comingl. The two main characters even meshed well. I would have loved to see a little more depth to make them being in love a bit more believable and to make their BDSM partnership more plausible.

Thank you #netgalley and Black Odyssey for the ARC!

no thanks

Personally I didn’t like it at all! Definitely DNF. From the title you would expect the MFC to be more focused on LOVE, but from the few chapters I read that wasn’t the case nor was it going to be the case. She was too loose, and sex focused, so I just couldn’t continue.

I really loved how open and free Anyssa was, Nazar was holding on to grief and still trying to be strong. I really loved how the story kept my attention from start to finish, I am glad that they found each other and was able to open up to each other and build something solid I would love to see an update with them.
