A step back from the previous volume for the simple reason of the totally cliche old close friend rival love triangle. I like the friend Yuu and that she’s a darker skinned girl, but there’s nothing new added, just the usual jealousy. The fact that the girls become closer towards the end doesn’t make up for how much this volume was taken up by the clichéd rivalry. Hopefully things change up in the next volume.

Very fun volume that really flows well. Now that the chapter headings with original and tankoban chapters makes this story feel like normal pacing narratives. The gaming club is heating up and we see some more character development for all 3 characters but mainly more insight on Rion and Yuu. As before but seems like even more SFW-NSFW scenes/drawings scattered throughout; we even almost saw a nipple at the end in the last new bonus chapter.

Now that 3 volumes in, this is a recommended series but with the caveat that it is vastly different in the flow/writing-style which is nice for a change of pace. A gaming themed rom-com series with fanservice; what more could you want lol maybe just some actual nudity but in this case it does not ruin the overall feel.

A nice read, but generally just more of the same lol (although by volume 3, you kinda know what you’re in for). Rion and Yuu are both pretty fun imo, and I quite like how they don’t just immediately become enemies because they both like the MC - which is the frustrating cliche of these types of series.

I did notice this time around that the texts between Rion and her friends read as very awkwardly out of touch, plus there’s a few weird poses in the art that don’t quite work anatomically (mainly the final full page art when she’s in the bath, her arm doesn’t look right😭). Still, I’m enjoying this series so far. Gal SOL fluff is the best fluff.
