Scandalous #5

Reverence

Rate this book
Diego Lobos is every mother’s dream. He’s handsome, smart, athletic, and well-mannered. Diego attended an Ivy League college and managed to keep a near perfect GPA. Mothers want Diego Lobos as their future son-in-law. Girls swoon at the mere mention of his name. Guys want Diego to be on their team. They want Diego by their side at the club.

Everyone wants to be friends with Diego Lobos.
He’s the guy everyone loves… And rightly so. But is he right for me? Can Diego fill the voids within me? Those vacant spaces that have been dark and empty for so long that I’d forgotten they existed until he stepped into my life… Diego is charismatic, charming, and genuine. He’s a sexy motherfucker without being the arrogant asshole. What more can a girl ask for? In my dark world I need more. I have a need most guys can’t fill. I demand certain expectations that have guys cupping their balls and running in the other direction.

Can Diego be a submissive? Sometimes I think so and other times he just confuses the shit out of me. This particular detail matters though. I can’t ever go back to that time. I can’t ever be under another man’s thumb. I refuse to bend. I refuse to part with the little bit that’s left of me.

Yes, I’m broken. But damn the world to hell if even this fractured part of me is more magnificent than half the bitches out there.

Love me or hate me. I don’t give a flying fuck. But everybody loves Diego… So why would he work so hard to be with someone like me?

This is book 3 in the Irresistible series. Desirae and Diego's story.

Expected publication summer 2014.

5 "I'm a Fucking Warrior, Bitches" Stars

"Most people's monsters aren't real. But mine are real and one drives a red BMW Roadster."

Reverence is the third full length novel in Ms. Pierre's steamy Irresistible series. All the players you loved so much are back but this time the focus is on Desirae Philippe and Diego Lobos.

Desirae Philippe is an audacious, tough, and dominant young woman. Desirae's lived and survived unthinkable horrors at the hands of the two people she should have been able to trust most in her life: her parents. Now, free from their hold on her, while attending college, she can finally begin to figure out who she is. Desirae has never known unconditional love but Carina's family have shown her what it can be. Diego Lobos, Carina's brother, has caught Desirae's attention but is Diego what Desirae needs? Hedonism, the sex club, has become Desirae's refuge and the dungeons are her own personal playground where she reins as Mistress D.

"It's the place of nightmares and wet dreams. This is the room that gets my blood pumping and my juices flowing. My fingers itch to play. While some consider this a true dungeon I consider it my playroom. It contains three beds all with rubber sheets, various accessories, and attachments. There are no satin sheets and feather touches here. Blood is meant to be spilled within these walls."

Diego Lobos is the guy all mothers want to see their daughters bring home. He is gorgeous with an athletic build, compassionate, loyal, and well-mannered. He has his sights set on Carina's, his sister, best friend, Desirae or as he likes to call her Tesoro; Desirae is a "treasure" that Diego plans to shower with unconditional love. Now peeps stop swooning over this hunk.......

Diego has his work cut out for him on his quest to prove to Desirae that a happily ever after is in the cards for them. Of course with any love story, the hero will have to fight demons and dragons before he gets to kiss the girl. As Diego gets closer to Desirae, he finds what he believes will set Desirae's heart free to love him back.

Will Diego be able to get Desirae to put down her guard around him in order to finally feel what it's liked to feel treasured and loved? Will Desirae's past monsters come back and ruin the happiness she's found with her friends?

I had the pleasure of reading this novel as it was being crafted by Ms. Pierre and the finished product tells such a beautiful story of a young women's journey from victim to warrior. Ms. Pierre knows how to write a complex story and craft some seriously sizzling sex scenes that really got my panties wet. This entire series should be given a D.R.I.P. warning!!

I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series which is going to focus on the dashing and dominant Nicholas and his submissive, Andrea!!

Hmmmm this book had promise, I was intrigued by the synopsis and wanting something a little different as in the ‘usual dominant alpha male’ meets submissive heroine… so that was it, I wanted in. I cannot fault the start of this book, oh crikey how Desirae was treated growing up was horrific! I wish this story had literally revolved around that more, but this was all laying the foundations as to why Des is like she is today. But the Desirae of ‘today’ I could not connect with so easy, which was a shame. I also cannot fault the whole premise of the book, I was weirdly hooked and enjoying it and also friggin frustrated too! If you also are thinking bah I can't cope with men being submissives then honestly and truly this book is not fully about that, it touches on it with some characters but Diego is more, and all I can say is he is a perfect dominant submissive - wink ☺

Now I don’t know about other reviewers but I wanted to shout at the author a lot to ‘calm her knickers down’. This story zooms at pace faster than a greyhound chasing the rabbit! Then whilst keeping up the manic writing pace it completely jumps from one to scene to others with zero connection and feels completely erratic. For example we have a scene with Diego sneaking in to see Des late one night and give her some lovin’ without waking her up. That scene ends and literally the next one is god knows when on a timeline, with one of the friends (that Diego was just saying goodnight too on the page before) now hurt and everybody wondering if she’ll make it or not and Des is sitting there having flashbacks about another friend….. So that was frustrating for me. We then seem to time jump again a bit further on one minute Des is on the way to see if Carina is still unresponsive after the attack and literally the next scene/Chapter is Carina up and well and getting over it all.

Now I am certainly not gonna argue that Senayda can pen an incredibly good sex scene but what good is a fiery sex scene if you haven’t got yourself invested in the characters? And therein is another frustration because those fiery sex scenes were good. Tad OTT in some part by nonetheless very well done. But again having said that about being frustrated, I never once felt that I wouldn't carry on reading. Because as much as I didn’t 100% connect with Des and Diego I did connect with ‘whole bigger picture’. And I really did enjoy the premise of it all, the nasties in Desirae's life were what kept me glued, I wanted to know the outcome. I also thought the epilogue was an excellent round off.

So to sum up, this steamy read gets a sound 3 stars from me and would have definitely been a 4 if the writing pace had been a little less choppy and more smooth. I would recommend anyone giving this a go though that enjoys no holes barred dirty action, an underlying very good premise and maybe like me you'll be able to get past a 'jumpy' story. (Yes Rob you missed a dirty one ;-) )

I received a copy of Reverence in return for an honest review. My reviews are my own and are 100% honest.

This is book 3 in the series but it does follow along the same timelines as book 1&2 just in the POV of Diego and Desirae

I loved the series so this was a no brainer for me to sign on for !! I was happy to get to almost re-read books 1&2 and enjoy them from a different POV. Getting to know Diego is rather easy , as it was in books 1&2 he is almost an open book. He doesn't hold back feelings , he loves and protects fiercely and never gives up on the things he believes in. This story is his journey to get Desirae to realize her worth and how much she means to him. Desirae is a hard shell to crack but Diego never gives up. Although they have many difficulties along the way their interactions are so full of promise , heat and love that when it finally happens , DAMN !!

Desirae was fun , funny and a piece of work all along. She has been harboring some very dark secrets and now we finally get the bits and pieces of them. It is horrible learning about the way she was treated as a young lady and into the present by her father , mother and his business associates. She very rarely lets anyone in but Nicholas and Valentino end up able to crack her shell because of a certain chain of events landing her in trouble. Once they come up with a plan to protect her and avoid her needing her father you would think she was in the clear....

Without giving much away I will say that I have enjoyed every minute of this story. Their journey is rough but full of promise and love. Diego is a genuine wonderful guy and I am a big fan of his !! Damn the rope....WOW !! Desirae was hard to connect with but as the story went on it was easier and easier , I found myself wishing I could comfort her and be her friend. This group has become one of my favorite book families !! MORE MORE MORE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE !!!!!!!

This story in the irresistible series is unlike any other so far, it explores the developing relationship of Carina’s brother, Deigo, and her best friend, Desirae as well as their pasts. Both characters were relatively unknown to the readers and their story is not as apparent in the other books. However the reader gets to see events and the previous plot lines from their perspectives, allowing the reader to understand certain emotions and reactions.

Reverence reveals the personality of one quite mysterious character whom I have to admit I didn’t like at first. Desirae just appeared to be brash, hypocritical and almost a bully to me. However the author explores the depths of her personality and I have to say she is one of my favourite characters now. The issues dealt with in the book are quite complex and deep but the author deals with this in a sensitive way that is commendable.

This book for me is one of the best in the series so far, although I did miss the other characters as the book is written in third person and the reader is not allowed the same insight and compared to the other books. However this will hopefully be explored later in the series. Readers are still able to view character interactions from Deigos and Desiraes perspectives which is interesting and don’t worry, for the more raunchy readers – there are still lots of sex scenes ;-)

Overall my only complaint is that the reader is still left in the dark as to how Desirae and Valentino become so close (but that might be me being picky as Valentino is also one of my favourite characters) but on the whole this book is worth 5* the plot line is easier to get your head round, especially compared to other books. I cannot wait for the next installment!!

5 SIZZLING STARS!

This was an amazing book. I really liked it. It was full of sex, sin, naughty pleasures, dominance, submission, and one bad ass domme named Mistress D. This book was beautifully written that I read this entire book in one sitting and was flipping pages as fast as I could.

This is Desirae and Diego's story. Desirae is Carina's best friend. Free of her horrid parents and past, Desirae is now trying to move on. As Desirae finds herself in the dungeons as Mistress D, she also catches the eye of Diego, her best friend Carina's brother. Diego is your perfect, sexy, take home to your momma type of guy who every girl dreams of. But demons are demons and can be difficult to overcome when they have scarred you for life. Can Diego be everything that Desirae needs? Can Diego show Desirae that she can be loved and cherished? Can Diego show Desirae that a happily ever does exist and they can find it together?

I loved Desirae and it is not often that I love the girl over the guy but yep that happened with this book. She was strong, smart, resilient, bad ass, tough as nails, sexy, and totally vulnerable at the same time. A product of her past, she is hesistant when it comes to love because she never knew it growing up in dysfunction. I also love Diego and his tenacity to prove to Desirae what she couldn't see. I also loved how perfect he seemed to be. Yes everyone has demons but if you put trust into someone else, it can change your entire world.

I recommend this book and entire series!

A gifted copy was provided by the author for an honest review.

This was an awesome book! It's paced really well, and the characters are some of my favorites I've read. If you haven't read the previous books, then this book will probably make no sense. At. All. Fair warning. This book focuses on two characters: a male and a female who totally belong together. While there's extreme focus on them, there's additional delving into the supporting characters.

Desirae comes from a family who sold her body for their personal gain. The trust was severed a long time ago. Now that Des is away from her family, she finally feels like she can breath. What she never expected was for gorgeous hotty, super intellectual, good guy Diego to fall after her. She knows she's tarnished, yet something about Diego allows Des to let go and maybe trust again.

Overall, I recommend this series to anyone looking for a deep read with an erotic tie in. Senayda Pierre does an awesome job of balancing these two elements. I never felt like this was a cheap read with a bit of sexuality thrown in. These characters are unique, they are loyal, and they have their own stories. I'm giving this book 4 STARS out of 5 STARS.

Desirae is running from a childhood no one should have to remember. She doesn't trust easily and almost anything can set her off. She copes with being in control of all situations and she finds the perfect group of friends she can be herself around. For the first time in her life she is happy but then Diego tries to break down some of her barriers. She wants him badly but she doesn't know how to let him in. The only thing she is certain of is that her past will always haunt her.

Diego has wanted Desirae since the first moment he met her. At first he refrains from going after her because she is his sisters best friend, but soon his need for her is consuming. He wants her but not just for one night, he wants every night. Convincing he is harder than he expected. But he's willing to fight to have every part of her,to protect her, to love her.

I really liked this book. It was fun to read and kept me guessing what was going to happen next. I really loved all the characters and their unique relationship. My favorite character by far was Valentino I really loved him and his relationship with Desirae, Nicholas came in close second. The only thing I didn't like about this book was that it was really long and seemed to have a few unnecessary scenes, but apart from that it was an exceptional read. I highly recommend this book to readers with a high tolerance and enjoyment for sexual content, because this book had it all.

I was given this for an honest review. This book is off the charts hot and sexy. Once you pick it up you can not put it down.
This is Desirae and Diego's story. Desirae has had a horrible childhood but remains a fun and sexy character. She is one of those fun characters that it takes a while to see what she is hiding. Diego was absolutely perfect for her.
This book is defiantly one I was happy to read and review. This whole series lit my kindle on fire..

This is one series you do not want to miss.

Loved book one and two but this one is certainly my favourite.

So happy to read about all the characters in previous books that I love. However this book is mainly the story of Diego and Desirae. Even though Desirae went through hell with her parents she's a strong character and hasn't let her past hold her back. Diego is just luscious. Mmmm.

This is an extremely hot and sexy book- the whole series is. Full of hot steamy scenes I totally loved this book.

I really liked Reverence it was a different kind of story then what I mostly read but over all it drew me into what was going on with the characters also when things are reveled . This is part of a series and it felt like some of the events that took place may have happens in previous books of the Scandalous series so I do plan on reading more by the author and the series . I did go through alot of emotions mostly frustration with how the couple would handle certain situations and their hot and cold act got a bit irritating . I did find the heroine super unique and her tough exterior but once she let some one in they were in . The sex scenes were super steamy minor spoiler there is some activates with other people I'm really not a fan of that but as the story went on I got past it . I'm really excited to read more by Senayda Pierre .

Emotional. Raw. Steamy.

This book really took me through a lot of working. The characters are put in uncomfortable, frustrating situations that will make your heart wrench for them. They are unsure about each other and it shows due to their constant hot/cold feelings towards each other. It is a story like no other. The heroine is your role model you want to be: tough to look at and deal with, but once you break the shell, you get this amazing woman everyone would love. You feel privileged to be able to see her true self in this book.

The sex scenes were out of this world and you’ll need to read this by yourself. They engage in some over the top sexual acts, but you can skip past those just to be able to read this storyline.

I am definitely going to read the books prior to this book to be able to help understand more that happened with these characters. I recommend this book. It will give you all the forbidden, good feelings I’m sure the author intended.

This is the fifth book in this intriguing series, and is Diego and Desirae’s story. Desirae is a survivor from what her horrific family did to her, and that has shaped her into the strong women she is today. Diego is her best friends’ brother, and the chemistry between these two is explosive. It was a bit frustrating at times with the hot / cold scenario they had going on. This is a well written story, which is dark, mysterious, and a humorous story. I look forward to reading more from this author, and recommend her work.

OH MY! This book is one of the hottest books I've ever read! I started this series not knowing this author she's brand new to me but this series has me hooked! I can't wait to get emails saying there is more! This one in particular has to be my favorite. I've never read a book like this one m, it's so raw and open. There is so much emotion in this I was so on edge the whole time. If you're looking for a new author, to step outside of your comfort zone then you need to definitely check out Ady Anes! I cannot wait to see what she has next!
