Meet Sugar, a mysterious and vengeful woman originally from a small town in Georgia, as she returns to the Carolinas to deal with her shameful and disturbing history with a group of three very flawed friends. Malcolm, married to a sexy and adventurous vixen, Sampson, a crooked police officer on the prowl and Deke, a petty downtrodden criminal with a crush on Rochelle, who happens to be Malcolm's wife, all have a past of individual transgressions with Sugar, who now seeks redemption from each one of them. Unable to forget how the unscrupulous people of her past defiled her, Sugar falls into a lapse of insanity and returns with a steamy, conning and morale-less alter ego, who brings all hell with her--and she wears a mask!
Okay...Sugarland is truly what you may envision of an erotic thriller when you hear that title. Enthralling pager turner that leaves you wanting more even after the last page.
This was my first read by this author and I didn't know what to expect from it but it was really good and unpredictable. The plot twists and turns kept me on edge the entire journey and though I would've appreciated a little more character development on the men
What is sweeter than Sugar? What is one way to overcome spice? What or who hides behind masks?
Sugar is a woman on a mission. She is determined to right injustices that were done to her. She is biding her time and making moves in silence and secrecy. She is determined to make all those responsible for her downward spiral responsible with their lives. She has her list ready and one by one she will mark off her list.
Malcolm and Rochelle are married but Malcolm has a roving penis. He can't seem to keep it in his pants but that does not mean that he does not love his wife. Malcolm, in fact, loves his wife but he does like a bit of variety. Rochelle is the uber bitch of a wife Malcolm is married to and she revels in her title. She is determined to have things her way at all costs, even the cost of her marriage. She wants what she wants.
Deke and Sampson are Malcolm's best friends. They all go way back and have a longstanding history. The trio is back together after Malcolm and Rochelle move back home to NC. They are brothers from other mothers and their bond is unshakeable. Sugar becomes a common factor between the gentleman. They don't know who she is as she is just as mysterious as the masks she wears. Her plan is coming together with the move of Malcolm and Rochelle back to NC. Sugar continues her silent moves, entrancing her targets.
For Sugar, the thrill is in the kill. It's obvious she may be a bit psychotic but as always looks are deceiving and by the time you figure it out, it's too late. Sugar is bound and determined to get her list completed. Sugar reveals some of her past with each meeting of her targets and it is chilling the things she brings forth out of her mouth. You don't know what will happen.
I am rating four stars. Sanders brought us an erotic thriller that is sensual and dark. The depths of pain, lust and more he brings forth in the characters can almost be felt tangibly.
Sugarland can be considered an erotic and mystery book. Who is Suagr? If you think you figured out who she is you might be wrong. The mystery of the character has you guessing and changing your mind often. The sex scenes in the book are very graphic.
You have three friends Malcolm, Sampson, and Deke. They have been friends since they were younger. Events bring Malcolm back to his hometown of Durham, NC. At first Malcolm is not happy about returning but his wife Rochelle is happy and ready to go back. Rochelle, is a character to be reckon with.
Sampson, is a police officer who is not on the straight and narrow. Things that Sampson has done in the past has now come back to haunt him.
Deke, is trying to come up. He wants to be successful. He thought opening up a club was the way to go. Opening up Sugarland may cause a lot of problems for them all.
Go on the journey and see if you can figure out who Sugar is. There is a web of deception and secrets coming out. Some things you want see coming. Good book! I will check out future books by Jodee.
Sugarland was a great book. I've never read this kind of book before. It kept my attention from beginning to end. The characters and their antics kept me on edge. Trying to figure out who Sugar was, was the icing on the cake. Sugar was like no other. She kept her identify a secret even from her employer, that's how good she was. Sugar is one chick you don't want to cross. The lies, deception, betrayal, and death scenes had me holding my breath. The sex scenes were very enticing. I would've liked to have stepped one foot into Sugarland, just once. A definite page turner. Would recommend this book to anyone that would like to read a different type of book. Can't wait to read part two. First I'll have to re-read this book so I won't miss any details.
This was a great page turner. The author did a great job with drawing you in from the beginning and kept you wanting more. This book had a lot of twists, turns and betrayal among friends. When you are reading this book and think you have it figured out there is another twist. Great job Jo Dee Sanders looking to read more from you.
Sugar was a scorned woman and wanted revenge. Sugar was a stripper at the popular strip club. Men and woman were moved by her body and her moves. She had men and women drooling. Malcolm, Deke, and Sampson was known as the Triplets and owned Sugarland, the newest strip club in town. Sugar was employed as the star of the club. Sugar was not able to forget her past. Erotic thriller.
I am so ready for part 2! Everytime I thought I figured out who Sugar was, the author/storyline would take a different turn. Sugar and all the women in this book are cunning and evil , but you can still feel their pain. Very captivating story.
This waa my first time reading a Erotica Thriller. It was off the chain. This book draws you in from the first page to the end. Sugar was no joke whatever she started she finished. Loved this book first time reading from this author. Jo Dee you did your thang. Can't wait for part 2.
