Fabulous series.
This is a fabulous series, the only issue I had at all was Mia she really got on my nerves and it shows just how good the first book 'Close Liasons' was that I continued on because she really did annoy me in the first book.
The second book 'Close Obsession' proved to be addictive reading the concept was excellent, the descriptions of the K centres wonderful. Mia still annoyed me in the beginning but this wore off as the book progressed, Korum again was, well what can I say I loved him. The new characters were great I'm hoping there's more of them in future books particularly Adam and Saret.
The third and final book 'Close Remembrance' was also addictive, I won't give any details because I don't want to spoil anything for you but I loved this series.

This was one of the first "alien-type" stories I've ever read and Anna has spoiled me for other paranormal books of this type. Like... No alien so far has ever been able to compare to Korum. Lol.
I mean, the only books I've read that were genre-similar to this that were able to maybe stand beside this series was Evangeline Anderson's Brides of the Kindred book series.

I don't understand why this author is not more known... I read "Twist me" first and it was amazing! Happy me, she wrote a trilogy about aliens! Yay!
Soooo, you've got:
1) HOT, HOT aliens. Caveman style with a strong instinct to mate when they find their "other half";
2) Nanotechnology who'll help humans to live eternally (shoot me, just heard about it on the news. When science fiction meets reality);
3) A strong willed human female battling with the imposing and gorgeous alien;
4) Hot, hot sex scenes (I've read Anna's hubs helps her with the writing process. If he helped with the steamy scenes let me tell you she is such a very, very lucky girl!);
5) Action and intrigues with nefarious plans designed by a mysterious guy;
6) We also see how the weaker human tamed the alien beast (Girl Power!);
7) An alien universe with inventive technology and original fauna and flora.
Cherry on top, it's well written.
So cheers for Mia and Korum !

Audiobook: Narrator – Robert Scarlato
Mr. Scarlato does an excellent performance of not only the main characters, but the secondary as well. Mia and Korum have very distinctive voices and I never struggled understanding him or enjoying his narration. I sometimes struggle with a male narrator doing a female voice, but not so in this case. I would gladly listen to anything he narrated.
I’ve had this series on my TBR forever! Now that I’ve read/listened to it, I’m totally kicking myself for waiting so long to dig in.
Korum is the type of alpha hero that walks you just this side of dark and dangerous. You’re never really sure what his motives are. However, there is never an question about his desire for Mia and the chemistry between these two absolutely sizzles across the pages of these books.
Mia begins as a bit insecure and frightened, rightfully so, but throughout the story she evolves into a heroine that can hold her own against a Krinar such as Korum. There are a few times I worried she was going to cross the line over into stupidity, but while she hovered on its edges, she never made that final step. I actually appreciated her courage although it ends up causing issues between her and the hero.
The ending takes us to a whole other world and everything from the beginning to the end will keep you on your toes. This has been an amazing series to read/listen to and I’m so glad I decided to dive into it. I hope to eventually go back and read the novellas.

holy christ OK WE GET IT
korum very much gave off the vibe of 'i'm sexy so i can do whatever i want' and it really got old after a while. being that he's from an alien race i was expecting cultural differences, sure. one of my favorite parts about this genre of romance is that the author really has free reign in designing an entirely new world and set of cultural norms. it's always interesting to me to see where they take it. in this case, i was so disappointed because i hated korum so much. he was rude and pretentious and i get that it's supposed to be in a sexy way because he gets all possessive and growly over mia, but it really just made him feel like an asshole, and not in the attractive 'oh damn' way.
mia was whiny and boring. she was the bella swan look-alike for this story. there was nothing about her that made her feel like an actual person, and that's always crucial to me. if you're throwing aliens at me, i need something grounding. the human mc has to feel like a real human being to me otherwise it doesn't feel realistic enough and i disengage too quickly. that's exactly what happened here. mia was generic and i didn't care about her or what she thought. her entire personality was 'but, i had plans' and hating korum while also constantly giving in to him because he's just that sexy.
and don't get me started on the sex - in one scene korum placed the flat of his tongue on her clit and she fucking came. are you kidding me? does he have some magic tongue or some shit? that's not sexy. i don't want to read about spontaneous orgasms, i want to read about a man putting in the work because he thinks his partner is sexy and wants to watch them come apart piece by piece. you don't get that with instantaneous orgasms.
so suffice to say, this was a bit disappointing. i started skimming more and more closer to the end of the books because it was getting to be too ridiculous. the beginning was interesting. story had potential. i enjoyed the author's writing style, but this story just was not for me.

The good.
Anna Zaires has created a very alluring & exotic world with the Krinar.
The romance between Mia & Korum is often thought-provoking, sometimes humorous and erotic. The Krinar technology astonishing.
For the most part the story flows easily and is well written.
The bad.
To much reiterating.
Once you describe an item or scene, there is no reason to repeat yourself continuously in a book. Basically that is the only problem with these 3 books.
Everything else was well done and I enjoyed the stories. In fact, I will continue to follow this series & read more from her in the future.

4 "I Wanna Be A Krinar" Stars
Audiobook Version with 3 Different Narrators
(I felt like Goldilocks with the trilogy having 3 separate narrators: #1 was too strong, #3 was too soft, and #2 was JUST right. I was sorry to see she had been replaced.)
Overall, I'm rating this with 4 Stars because I was completely caught up in the story. Indeed, I devoted most of three days to listening intently whenever I could.
That said, I had so many issues with Mia, who was not only so tiny she was the size of a house mouse and so unattractive to me she was ab-so-lutely TSTL. She asked so many questions, if I were Korum I would have told her to shut-the-fuck-up and shuttled her back to you NYC. Questions like "Why me?" "What could you want with little ole me?" And yet, the really important ones she only fretted over endlessly in her head: "The resistance says blah-blah, is it true?" "If we're together, what will happen when I age?" "Can we have children?" "Whoa, your technology rocks! How can I get me some some?" These are just some silly samples. Especially towards the end when Korum tells her his true plans and she yells a bit and then shrugs: why not suggest an Earth/Krinar compromise, why not suggest they push forward as a K/Earther team working towards what's best for both beings? She's so damn dumb.
As for Korum, he was a perfect Krinar solving all his "Mia" problems with sex. Yet, giving in, opening up, letting love in a bit at a time. He also grows up: faces enemies, learns about betrayal and he learns to 'let go'. Mostly though, he growls at Mia a lot. He cracked me up.
Speaking of sex with Korum--we were, weren't we? Damn, but it was boring in its repetitiveness: stick big 'D' in teeny tiny slot 'A' (hold for a stretch and repeat). Or slot 'B'. Butt we'll get into that later, which they don't, not really. Over and over again. Just show us the above damn diagram and ask us to chant "vanilla, vanilla, vanilla" and we'll get the idea. It just didn't matter after awhile and I covered my ears (and non-tingling parts).
I had so many problems with the logistics of this, I wanted to sit down and write a long letter to Anna Z. In the end, though, I just let it go. She wasn't going to fix it for me, so I just did it in my head (there's me all up in my sex, I mean 'head', again...lol).
Definitely worth a listen if you like threatening, grumpy rich Alien Alpha males who look/act exactly like threatening, grumpy rich Human Alpha males who fall for pretty, average Jane with big round insert blue, green brown eyes, but with some end of the world suspense thrown in. It sounds like I didn't, but I really did love it. Especially listening to it long into the deep dark, endlessly starry night.

This is the definition of “if he wanted to he would.” Period!
Is he really obsessed with you if he doesn’t put a nano tracker he created himself on you to know where you are at all times. Simultaneously, add a nano recording device that has live and recorded content that goes straight to his archives.
He creates a special communication device that looks like a bracelet that works as a smart iPad, iPhone, computer, VR and has all the features a stalker would die for.
When you read this story and learn and Korum you will understand the meaning of a truly obsessed man that will do anything and everything for his one and only love of his life woman!!! I can not stress ss enough the amount of happiness this novel/ Boxset has
Given me. This Krinar world that Mrs Zaire’s has created alongside her husband is truly amazing and a masterful work of creativity, ingenuity and complexity. It has everything a reader want smut with a plot with more smut that really adds to the story and can be set on its own if there wasn’t any romance. But the erotic romance makes it ten time better. Having the explosive passion that grows into and all encompassing love that transcends space and time literally.
I could go on and on about how Amazon this story is but we would be here all night.
I hope you guys give this sci fi, fanatasy romance a chance. As someone who abhorres science fiction take it for me it will not let you down. If all the above mentioned does not trigger you.

p. 15 Just got to the part explaining that people are only allowed vegetarianism now.... Still not sure why the Ks get to make all the decisions for the world, but maybe it's cause they are hot (and hot controlling guys are totes worth it? -_-;;) Anyway, less clobbering over the head with environmentalism, pls...

⚡ SPOILERS AHEAD!! ⚡
I hate doing this but I just really can't get into the story. I'm also not a fan of Korum whom I feel is very cold towards Mia. Some things that he said to her were kind of mean. He called her a slut because she got all horned up from a kiss and refused to go further. It was not said in the ''dirty talking'' way. He was literally mocking her, and it felt really spiteful. From the get go, he just tells her he wants to fuck her, even if she isn't his type. She doesn't seem to be special to him at all, just a fun toy. I'm sure that it will change over time but I just don't like him, and I can't be bothered finding out.
Also, something else that bothered me was their first time. Mia is a virgin, and she is literally panicking, crying, her body refusing the penetration and he just says ''sorry'' and goes for it. She went to him to have sex in the first place but I just...I didn't find the act appealing at all. She was just doing it to get it over with. Of course, albeit the immense pain she was in, she ends up having an orgasm and that's where I stopped. It's just so unrealistic, especially if the penetration was forced while her muscles were clenched. It would be painful and probably hurt for days. And by that point, they don't know each other, have no chemistry and there is no romance.
I didn't feel like the Aliens (the Krinars, who are a race very close to humans, but with a thing for blood, like vampires) made a big difference in the story, up to that point. I don't think I can finish this book at all, not right now atleast. I think it has potential but I couldn't get into it. And the idea that it's 3 books in 1, and has 800 pages is absolutely dreadful to me since I can't get into it. So it's best for me to stop.

I hate doing this but I just really can't get into the story. I'm also not a fan of Korum whom I feel is very cold towards Mia. Some things that he said to her were kind of mean. He called her a slut because she got all horned up from a kiss and refused to go further. It was not said in the ''dirty talking'' way. He was literally mocking her, and it felt really spiteful. From the get go, he just tells her he wants to fuck her, even if she isn't his type. She doesn't seem to be special to him at all, just a fun toy. I'm sure that it will change over time but I just don't like him, and I can't be bothered finding out.
Also, something else that bothered me was their first time. Mia is a virgin, and she is literally panicking, crying, her body refusing the penetration and he just says ''sorry'' and goes for it. She went to him to have sex in the first place but I just...I didn't find the act appealing at all. She was just doing it to get it over with. Of course, albeit the immense pain she was in, she ends up having an orgasm and that's where I stopped. It's just so unrealistic, especially if the penetration was forced while her muscles were clenched. It would be painful and probably hurt for days. And by that point, they don't know each other, have no chemistry and there is no romance.
I didn't feel like the Aliens (the Krinars, who are a race very close to humans, but with a thing for blood, like vampires) made a big difference in the story, up to that point. 4 5* I really love Anna Zaires' H's they are alpha, possessive, protective, loving, and sexy. They learn through the story arc to soften for a better relationship with the h. This is my second trilogy by Ms. Zaires and I loved her story arc, development and relationship building. Interesting take on alien invasion of earth.

Couldn't even finish it. Bunch of scenes strung together. Too preachy for me about the virtues of a vegan lifestyle. And to me, this was not an alien romance....it was a vampire romance, which I don't enjoy.

Mia and Korum’s story was brilliant. This was the first alien romance book I’ve read (trilogy). It went above and beyond my expectations. I always loved Anna Zaire’s writing, but this was the first I read from Dima Zales. Let me just say they make me want to read more from them. I will definitely read more from them!! This series has hella plot (good plot that makes sense and isn’t boring), I’ve grown invested in the characters to the point where I’m like ‘where the heck is book four in this series? I wanna know more!’, and I just love the undeniable chemistry between Mia and Korum. Even though it’s another one of those annoying types of romances where the girl is an unsure of herself, unsexy virgin and the guy is a well experienced arrogant macho man/alien.... I still looked passed all of that. I’m so happy right now, so I’d HIGHLY recommend this series to everyone if you love a fantasy/alien love story!

I can't even.. brain bleach please! I made it to chapter 5 I'm not going any further... I have no idea why this book has any five-star rating from any female. I was going to give it a chance because I kind of liked the premise of the Krinar but come on overbearing guy picks young college chick up from the rain you're thinking what he wants to be hopeful. They're going to have some sort of I get to know you thing going on. Yeah, he's a little bit overbearing about putting her in the car but you thinking it's just because he knows she's afraid because he's an extraterrestrial but I'm sorry.... I have to come up for air. When things like "because I want to Fuck you." come out of the male leads mouth as an explanation as to why he's stalking her on Internet. Now, as a fan of JR word and Laurel K. Hamilton, I do not have any problem with crewd dirty talk. On more than one occasion the brothers to other prospective mates exactly what they're going to do with them and how much they want them. however they do not do it in a derogatory manner. This guy proceeds to tell her I can smell you. I know you are virgin but you need to hurry up and get over that. basically there's nothing sexy or remotely erotic about that in my opinion about the way the so-called hunk of an alien talks to this chick. It's a complete and utter come up for air moment for me automatically made my brain go what the Fuck, especially when he follows his little announcement with things like your ugly clothes, so he's not saying he can smell her luscious aroma that turned him on blah blah blah like some of the shifter vampire romance is due where you can be like oh that's sexy. He's insulting her and being very derogatory. I don't know maybe some females get off on being talked down to. me personally not so much, dominant individual alien or not somebody say some shit like that to me I would slap the shit out of him. I cloud say that honestly because there'd be no thought I would just do it. So, if that's how this is starting out five chapters in. I can already tell this is not a book for me. Not at all. In fact, I find it quite annoying. Like I said if you were one of these people be likes to be talked down to unsalted if that flip your noodle. You want some big strong man to treat you like shit then this is probably a book for you. If they were role-playing the scene or something like that. It might be okay but that's not what's going on and I don't find this a good start for material that I would enjoy reading. Obviously, however, there must be some people out there that like for to hear things like that because this because multiple five-star ratings. I don't understand and that's not to even get started on the fact that I'm only on chapter 5 and I've already been preached to about the evils of meat. I really don't care for sci-fi fantasy romance novel fiction. Whatever the jumps on a soapbox about things like whether or not a person should eat meat or water the grass. These are supposed to be fictional things to let you escape from problems not been preached to about the I've said this on several different reviews that I found this type of not-so-subtle statements. I am a bacon lover. I will continue to be a bacon lover to each their own I say I don't need to read about how evil I am just because I like bacon. Maybe this will appeal to somebody obviously it does. I just personally do not understand it, you can be a strong alpha without being derogatory. I'm going to assume that at some point or at least I hope at some point the chick the story teaches the so-called k that you don't talk to women that way. However, I personally cannot stomach enough of it to find out it's a little over-the-top for me and if she doesn't put im in this place. I definitely don't want to know that and fail to see how this could be marketed as part of the romantic escape package. Obviously, that is my opinion. I just hope for all the females that mark this with five star reviews. This is just some sort of fantasy that you have in your not allowing somebody to treat you like this for real. That's a disturbing thought to me.

I bought it and was expecting to love and finish it, because I had read similar books in the past and wanted more of this particular trope. I only had the guts to finish the first book, because the further I read the more the relationship appeared to be downright abusive. I whole heartedly-agree with the female mc being whiny, but the mc was even worse. At times he really was her kidnapper and explained his behavior with: You don't know how rare it is to find someone you have chemistry with, because you are human and are not as developed as my species is and don't live that long.
And it was just unrealistic how the whole life of the female mc outside of the love-bubble with the male mc didn't exist and she didn't have the need to contact friends or family or panic about studying because she was without her stuff when she was with him.
The sex was also unrealistic and not-romantic. The sex scenes were not hot, but the aspect of him being dominant and strong were at times so weirdly brought up. It is definitely not hot when he walks away after as if nothing happened, but at other times yells at her "stupidity" because she is unsure if what they are doing or rather he is forcing is what she wants (again the thing about how rare it is to find someone).
What I really liked were some of the ideas for the future, e. g. the veganism and Korums tech.

I liked this series. Hot, sexy, kinky alpha aliens have been my secret fantasy since I was twelve. The stories were erotic. They flowed well. The scenes were very descriptive. Not everyone will enjoy this series if they can't suspend their disbelief or are prudes or have issues regarding abuse.

The United States is invaded by aliens. Mia has always kept her distance from them or any kind of trouble until she meets Korum, who is one of those aliens. Korum founds out everything about Mia and can't keep his distance from her. Mia finds out information about the Krinar and joins the resistance who are trying to get rid of the Krinar. While Mia is trying to find out more information about the Krinar by developing a relationship with Korum, she starts to fall for him and from there the story begins.
Mia is a 21 year old junior at NYU. She lives with a roommate, Jesse.
Korum is an alien, Krinar.
I liked the first half, but then by the second half I got bored. Very little angst in my opinion. No OW drama. I have to admit, I do like OW drama when I know the hero loves the heroine.
However, all was forgiven within 2 hours so that was really nothing. I expected more. I was hoping for more. After awhile it felt as if there was a scene and then sex. Scene, then sex. I got bored.
Mia was a door mate even though I feel the author did not want her to appear that way. I love a good j/p hero, but after awhile I felt Korum thought he was always right and knew was was best and Mia just went along with it. This is my opinion.
The characters did not grab me. Just when I thought the story would get good, it fell flat for me.
The narration was okay. B-/C+. The voice felt too old, a 45 year old man for the character(s).

I think I was really hooked on the first part of the series, but once I got into the 2nd it felt a little lagging. Then the 3rd act finally recaptured me Especially since what I was thinking in the very beginning about the invasion came back up.
I was very much surprised at what the last 2 pages of this story showed me, like crazy...but is it really. Now I wondering what is really going on and why do all this? Like what is the end game? But enough about the end.
Korum is very possessive and you see that throughout the trilogy, which can lead to a lot of arguments but also helpfully when a enemy is trying to end him. Mia can be a little annoying at times, but I had to remember that she is technically not getting a choice in a lot of things pertaining to her life.
Overall a good story and I had a good time reading it. Especially with how much spice Korum has with her, haha! I kept wondering if at any point would she become pregos, because I guess alien races never have to use protection during spicy time. Hahaha!

First off, can we talk about the food porn in this book? Everything the author described when it came to eating was just mean, you can't describe other worldly dishes with such great detail and not wish it was in front of you. She should lose a star for that alone. ;)
Admittedly I've never read alien romance prior to picking up this series, but if I had to recommend a series to start with it would be this one. The characters are well developed and her alien world is believable. Well as believable as an alien world can get, but a lot of thought and effort went into this series and it shows.

I loved this series written by Anna Zaires and you will too. The characters are fully fleshed out and the story line will capture your imagination so much so that you will also want to continue your exploration into all things Krinar by reading the additional books written by other authors that go deeper into the lives of other Krinar. This is the complete trilogy of Mia & Korum, Close Liasions, Close Obsession and Close Remembrance. These are the books that started the other Krinar and Krinar World spin-offs and they are great. I will say that if Alpha male's and hot sex are not something you normally read about and have no curiosity about then none of the books written about the Krinar or the Krinar World will be for you.
I read a few other books written along the Krinar lines before I read this trilogy. After reading those, I absolutely had to go back and read the trilogy that started it all. Anna Zaires has opened my eyes to another world with her Krinar books, so very glad that I found these. And with them, I found Anna Zaires as well. Haven't read all her books, but I'm working on it.
Mia & Korum's story will take you on a journey. A journey of fear, anger, hope, lust, betrayal, forgiveness and love. But it is a journey that will be worth it to the majority of readers. Each book flows effortlessly into the other and keeps your attention through the entire trilogy.

Wow it’s BAD! I tried. I was gonna power thru but it’s unbearably bad. And this was surprising because this author wrote one of my favorites “Twist Me” which I still go back and reread.

I can’t explain EXACTLY where I DNF’d because I stopped, but then came back and literally listened to like one chapter halfway thru the first book …. MIA was still stupid, so then I skipped to the last two chapters of the first book just see where the story was headed. I listened to, one chapter of the next book and decided that NOPE, can’t do it.
Aliens have invaded earth. They’re humanoid. Tall, strong, hawt, long lived, and apparently they don’t want to obliterate us. They mostly want to co exist and make us healthy. Like legit won’t let us eat crap anymore. Also apparently they basically bio engineered us. And they drink blood for pleasure. We of course like it too.
Okay so Korum is some big shot within their ranks. And Mia is apparently his soul mate. Korum is 2000 years old. He’s strong, smart, wealthy, and commanding. All things we like right….. Im still rocking with the story.
Mia is a virginal college senior. I can’t remember her exact age but I feel like she referred to her self as a teenager. She’s a waif that gets to eat with gusto and still be a waif ( described as barely 100lbs), and she is dumb as a box of rocks. Mia is honestly too stupid to live and she ruined the story for me.
Korum begins by openly stalking her. I mean he literally tells her yea I’m interested in you so I stalked you/ found out all I could about you. Now if you decided this was creepy as Mia does….. that would make sense. What does NOT make sense is to decide it’s creepy, he just wants to get in your pants…. So YOU’LL SHOW HIM….. by sleeping with him. Literally she has sex with him….. to spite him? The strangest plot point in the history of plot points. Then her roommate find out and decides that Mia needs an intervention.
So she calls her sketchy ass cousin and Mia spends the rest of the book working with the “resistance” against Korum while continuing to see him. She questions NOTHING that these strangers tell her. And decides immediately Korum is the asshole even though he was honest from jump. She’s mad that losing her virginity hurt even though SHE initiated sex with him. And he asked her if she wanted to stop and she said no……
Korum cooks for her, buys her a new wardrobe from Sak’s 5th Ave, rubs her feet, and holds her whenever she gives into random fits of emotion. He tells her very straightforwardly that he’s interested, and that he wants to have sex with her. But HE can’t be trusted and he’s probably trying to secretly turn her into a sex slave 🤨
Nothing about Mia’s thought processes made sense. None of her actions made sense. And general apprehension about an alien race wanting to sleep with you …. Sure. But the fact that she believed nothing he said…. But believed the word of strangers but also wanted to keep sleeping with him and was supposedly falling for him while also truly believing that he was capable of turning her into a sex slave up until the last chapter of book 1…. Makes ZERO sense. Not in fiction, not in real life… not anywhere.

Is there such thing as too much sex? This trilogy had me questioning it. I read the "Twist Me" series by Anna Zaires and it was amazing. I read all three in three days. When I saw this trilogy it was a no-brainer to pick it up. Even though the two trilogies are completely different, of course, this one was just blah. Dystopian is my favorite genre, but this one just felt lacking to me.
Mia is a college student living in NYC. She moved to NYC because it was supposed to be one of the few place on the planet to have the fewest amount of Krinar, an alien species almost identical to humans who came to Earth 10 years ago and all but took over. The Krinar are beautiful and flawless, and they are scary because of their superhuman strength and their ability to live forever. Mia has never met one, she's only seen them on TV, but one fateful day in Central Park changes all of that. As Mia is sitting on a bench enjoying the weather, she sees a Krinar man across the way and she has his attention. He comes to talk to her and seems nice, which she isn't expecting because of all of the things she's heard about him. The next day she runs into him again in the rain when she gets knocked down and scraped up, and he offers her a ride to his place to fix her up and dry her clothes. She's not only thrown off because of his beauty, but also his normalcy and kindness. She is really thrown when he introduces her to some of their alien technology that heals her scraps in a matter of seconds. After telling her best friend and roommate about him, she is introduced to a rebel team that is out to make the Krinar fall so that human can take back their planet, and they ask Mia to spy on Korum, the Krinar man who is interested in her. She tells them no, but when she realizes that no matter what, Korum will force her to be with him she decides to do it. Things spice up between Mia and Korum, and there are twists and turns neither of them are expecting.
I have a couple of negatives from this series that were a little hard to get over:
1. The H and h, Mia and Korum, have sex constantly. Each time they have sex it's 2+ pages of detail. Over the course of almost 1500 pages, it gets redundant and I got to where I was skipping over it. It happened way too often. Trust me, I'm as surprised as you are to even be thinking that.
2. The plot stalled a lot, there were boring moments that I thought just wouldn't end, the same details kept popping up in great length and there was no reason for it. Yes, we know what the chairs look like, yes we know about their food, yes we know about their species, yes we know they're all beautiful, we don't need multiple paragraphs every time you walk into a house and see the same things we saw in the last house. The entire series seemed anticlimactic.
There were redeeming qualities. I think the idea is pretty original, I think the ideas were interesting and I enjoyed immersing myself in a different world while also having one foot still planted on the familiarity of Earth. There were a few twists that were thrown in that make it interesting. I wouldn't say don't read it, I would just say if you've read the "Twist Me" series and are hoping for the same kind of writing it's not.

The Krinar are beautiful and flawless, and they are scary because of their superhuman strength and their ability to live forever. Mia has never met one, she's only seen them on TV, but one fateful day in Central Park changes all of that. As Mia is sitting on a bench enjoying the weather, she sees a Krinar man across the way and she has his attention. He comes to talk to her and seems nice, which she isn't expecting because of all of the things she's heard about him. The next day she runs into him again in the rain when she gets knocked down and scraped up, and he offers her a ride to his place to fix her up and dry her clothes. She's not only thrown off because of his beauty, but also his normalcy and kindness. She is really thrown when he introduces her to some of their alien technology that heals her scraps in a matter of seconds. After telling her best friend and roommate about him, she is introduced to a rebel team that is out to make the Krinar fall so that human can take back their planet, and they ask Mia to spy on Korum, the Krinar man who is interested in her. She tells them no, but when she realizes that no matter what, Korum will force her to be with him she decides to do it. Things spice up between Mia and Korum, and there are twists and turns neither of them are expecting.
I have a couple of negatives from this series that were a little hard to get over:
1. The H and h, Mia and Korum, have sex constantly. Each time they have sex it's 2+ pages of detail. Over the course of almost 1500 pages, it gets redundant and I got to where I was skipping over it. It happened way too often. Trust me, I'm as surprised as you are to even be thinking that.
2. The plot stalled a lot, there were boring moments that I thought just wouldn't end, the same details kept popping up in great length and there was no reason for it. Yes, we know what the chairs look like, yes we know about their food, yes we know about their species, yes we know they're all beautiful, we don't need multiple paragraphs every time you walk into a house and see the same things we saw in the last house. The entire series seemed anticlimactic.
There were redeeming qualities. I think the idea is pretty original, I think the ideas were interesting and I enjoyed immersing myself in a different world while also having one foot still planted on the familiarity of Earth. There were a few twists that were thrown in that make it interesting. I wouldn't say don't read it, I would just say if you've read the "Twist Me" series and are hoping for the same kind of writing it's not.

I really enjoyed the book with a few exceptions. I can't believe I am going to say it but too much sex (I know, maddness!) and too much emphasis on eating. I was wondering if the author was on a diet and turned those food cravings into Sex cravings. It just sort of lenghthened the novels.
What I loved about the book is that it was a great story line with good world building. The K have essentially taken over earth and live peacefully. Mia meets Korum (an alien), and begins a relationship with him. He basically takes over her life against her wishes. She starts spying on him for the resistance (involving humans and some K's) while falling in love with him. I totally get that, loyalty to your Country. This keeps her torn between her lover and her loyalty. If Korum had been more forthcoming with details, this breech of trust maynot have occurred.
In book 2, Mia and Korum head to the K headquarters in Costa Rica where she gets to meet other human companions (called Charl) and see how they live. Their trust and love grows. Mia begins working in a lab with a friend of Korums and begins to feel valuable and appreciated. Mean while another K plots to destroy Korum and his plan for earth and take Mia for himself.
In book 3 we see Mia and Korum learning to trust each other and the K society beging to accept humans as equals. A visit to the K home world completes the journey. The details make the book entertaining and enjoyable. I thought it was very imaginative. Nicely done!

DNF at 8 %.
It's more vampire than alien - and I don't like the vampire stuff. But what really made me anrgy was that navie - or better plain stupid - Mia. She acts like a 13 year old teenager.
Another reason for DNF was, that everything was told form Mia's point of view. Korums intentions and feelings remained a total mystery, but even Mias feelings and thoughts were not really described. I could not connect with any of the characters in this book.
Despite these points the writing was very good, fluent in style and easy to read. Sadly the plot and the characters made this book a DNF for me.

This book was a very pleasant surprise for me. It's the story of a very handsome alien called Korum who falls in love with a human girl called Mia. Aliens have taken over earth because their own planet is nearing it's sell buy date! But this book is essentially a beautiful love story between our two main characters. You will be introduced to another way of life where everything is so advanced that nothing will be the same again for Mia and her family.
This author did a wonderful job of describing all the new technical advances and after a few initial irritations with Mia I grew to really like her, and Korum was just so scrummy. Likes sex a lot that man, believe me!
