This is the story of Hannah Finley. All she has ever wanted is to feel like she belongs. A girl who is trying to learn to love herself after finally leaving an abusive household. Leaving for the first time, to go to away to college, she runs into the boy that broke her heart...only he never knew he owned it. She has to deal with the issues and fears that come with having a mother, who suffers from mental illness and was abusive towards her, all on top of having a new body since losing one-hundred pounds. This is a story of a girl learning to love herself...and maybe the cute boy.
There were many errors and typos and on top of that there was a lot of foul language, which I just don't like personally, which made this book a chore to read. I didn't like any of the characters. Hannah was self-centered. I felt badly for her childhood, but she just wasn't a likable or relateable character and that makes it hard to enjoy. Also, why were the characters screaming and yelling at one another so much - even when not angry or somewhere with loud noise that would warrant it? This book just wasn't my cup of tea.
So at first I didn't think I was going to love this book but after the third page I was automatically hooked in it. I was such a beautiful story that it made me cry a few times. I absolutely recommend this book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did
Hannah is a first year collage student who is roommates with her cousin Rayanne. Shortly after moving in she finds out that the boy she's been obsessing over all throughout high school is living on the same campus. Only one thing has changed, Hannah has lost 100 pounds. "I heard my door open and my mom came in with rage in her eyes, cigarette hanging from her mouth and a glass in her hand." (Wenzel, 36) Hannah's mom had a mental illness that caused her to always be mad. She was verbally and mentally abusive towards Hannah, which is a big part of the reason she decided to loose weight. “I turn around, and try to calm my nerves before I make any kind of eye contact with him. After a few seconds, I feel like I have it together. I stop staring at the floor, look up, and he is right in front of me. I instantly have a smile on my face, because I see him, and he looks so happy to see me." (Wenzel,212) Hannah has been in love with Zane forever, and now that she gets to finally see him after a couple years of being apart, Hannah can't be any happier. "She was the coolest chick I knew, and absolutely didn't care what anyone thought about her." (Wenzel,9) Hannah looked up to her cousin Rayanne as she was growing up. She was one of Hannah's few friends. Rayannes family knew all about how Hannah was treated at home, and yet decided to not do anything about it. “I decide right then and there that I have spent most of my life being afraid of my mother and the world. Actually, not most of my life, but my entire life, I have lived in fear of her and being hurt. I am taking that back.” (Wenzel,126) Going to collage and finally being away from her mother, Hannah finally starts living for herself and no longer for her mom. Hannah was always a brave and caring girl, it just took some help from her cousin Rayanne to let that part of her show. I recommend this book to any high school girl that likes love stories. I am not one for sappy stories, but this book definitely had me wanting to read more. This book has a text to text relationship with the story If I Stay. In both stories there is a guy in a band who falls in love with a girl. Also the main characters in both stories go through a large amount of family issues.End Game is a fictional story that is wrote in a way that it could actually happen. Girls mainly in high school would like this book. End Game is a really good book that kept me interested all throughout the story. I recommended you to read it.
"End Game" by Tabatha Wenzel is a very inspiring book that I recommend for teenage girls. This book involves drama, romance, and suspense. The main characters, Rayanne and Hannah are cousins. Hannah grew up being tortured, physically and mentally by her mother. She has now graduated from high school and it is her time to leave her mother. Growing up she was very overweight and wasn't happy with herself. She moved out from her mothers house and moved in with Rayanne and lost over 100 pounds. She was beginning to be confident with herself. One night Rayanne takes her to her first party as this "new Hannah". As she arrives she looks up to see her old high school heartbreak Zane. What was she supposed to do? He had never seen her like this! Would she be able to speak to him again? I recommend this book because it is really inspiring to see all that Hannah goes through. You get to watch her journey through her new life. And you get to see what all happens with her high school heartbreak Zane. You can get this book on iBooks for free!
I had read so many wonderful reviews for this book, and I was sadly disappointed. It was very poorly written and there were so many grammatical errors I found it very hard to get into. The story behind the book had a bunch of potential it just needed a lot of proof reading and correction to make it a book worthy of the reviews I had read.
The book End Game Tabatha Wenzel covers touchy concepts like bullying, child abuse, sexual harassment, insecurity, and overcoming your fears, which are very much real in our society today. This book is in a way the coming-of-age story of Hannah, a young girl who has been through so much, and yet, she still manages to stay strong. Hannah's abusive and unloving mother has affected Hannah so much that she has come to signify all of Hannah's insecurities. Throughout this book, we see Hannah growing and changing both inside and outside. The moment Hannah decides to go to college and move far away from her mom is a life changing moment for her. That moment changes so much in her and her attitude that it's almost overwhelming. This book contains my favorite things in a book - a meaningful plot, a love the characters actually work for, a happy ending. Although the ending was pretty predictable, it really doesn't affect the quality of the book that much because it's the journey that matters, not the outcome. There were moments when I couldn't help myself but cry, and moments when I was so happy, I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Hannah has plowed through so many struggles that she really deserved the happy ending she got. I would definitely recommend this book to teens and adults because they would be the ones who can understand the meaning and message of this book. If you love a page-turner that might possibly break your heart at times, but also make you really happy for no apparent reason, then this book is for you.
I haven't read to many stories regarding women of size, but I was happy to read that portion of it.
I am too a woman of size, and by size, I mean larger, so I really connected with all of her fears she had regarding her weight.
I also appreciated how gritty and real the jealous between the two cousins were, I don't feel like I come across stories like that often, but I can see how it may occur in real life, and it was nice to see on paper.
The love story aspect was kind of flimsy though...
spoilers ahead....
I just do not understand how Zane could walk away from Hannah, and never go back for her :/ It just doesn't seem very epic, on the love scale.
but thats just me...
still a decent read, and it was (thank god) in first person point of view

I liked this book for several reasons. The heroine, Hannah, overcomes a lot in her short life such as an abusive mother and obesity, to name a few. The ones who claim to love her, seem to fall short when she needs them.
I can understand the insecurities which would come with a practically new life in a new skin, but Hannah comes off as so needy and constantly needing reassurance for every little thing it's maddening.
Then there is Zane. The reason why he supposedly left Hannah doesn't even make sense, especially since he knew about Hannah's situation better than anyone.
I liked the whole love story concept. I will give the book that. But Hannah just got on my nerves so much. I know that sounds bad considering all she went through, but everyone has a past and problems. She was too whiney for me, and she seemed to have always been confused. In every chapter, you can find a part where she says," I'm confused..." Also, there was too much cussing and f-bombs being dropped. But maybe, that was just me.
I did not like anything about this book. First, it needs an editor. Badly. There were so many typos or missing commas that it became frustrating to read. Second, the phrasing of some of the characters spoken word seemed very stiff and therefore, did not flow well. There was too much yelling and screaming too. It was not for me, personally.
This book has a fairly sweet story but the writing is very amateur. It seems like the writer writes as she speaks and paragraghs are regurgitated to bulk out the book. I really hope I didn't pay anything for this book!
This was a good book. I like the message it told, but SO many grammar mistakes! Also, it was a bit repetitive. If it is edited a little more, and the characters didn't swear so much, I would have enjoyed it more.
Plot is all there, but I thought it was poorly written which made it harder for me to keep on reading, but I liked the story so I kept on. About halfway through I got bored with the story. Some bits were just… bland.
A very easy read! Story is about a young girl who lost her best friend years ago and then meets him years later.... after she loses a bunch of weight. She had a horrible childhood and has to learn to trust and deal with that. It's a cute story. I really liked Zane.
Good story. Enjoyed Hannah's healing process from years of sad stuff. Really liked all the characters. Couldn't give 5 stars due to lots of spelling errors
