From New York Times Bestselling author, Sadie Kincaid comes a contemporary friends to lovers romance.
Maddox James is the entire package. Soulful, deep, hotter than the fiery pits of hell. He’s also my best friend, and did I mention, he’s celibate?
Two years ago, we were strangers sharing sunsets, secrets, and a connection neither of us could ignore. For one perfect night, I thought something extraordinary was beginning—until he rejected me without explanation, leaving me feeling humiliated.
Now, fate has thrown us together again in the worst possible way: he’s my boss’s younger brother. Still maddeningly handsome, endlessly compassionate, and impossible to ignore. The worst part? He’s impossible to dislike too. Beneath the sexy confident smiles and effortless charm is someone quieter than I remember, someone carrying shadows I don’t understand. And when he finally tells me the truth, that rejecting me had nothing to do with him not wanting me—it changes everything.
Somewhere between late-night conversations, daily laughter and sharing our dreams, he becomes my best friend. Which would be fine if I wasn’t falling for him all over again.
Because friendship starts to feel dangerously small when every touch lingers too long, every look feels like a confession, and the man who once swore off intimacy begins breaking every rule he made for himself.
But love doesn’t erase the past. And when the darkest parts of our lives come back to claim us, we’ll have to decide if what we have is strong enough to survive the things that almost destroyed us both.
MADE is a slow-burn, emotional romance about healing, forgiveness, and discovering that love is worth risking everything for. Contemporary romance Friends to Lovers Second Chance Curvy FMC Golden retriever energy, with a dark dirty side He falls first (and hard) Standalone with HEA
I'm a bestselling author of dark mafia, billionaire, and paranormal romance. I love to read and write about hot, filthy talking alphas that would burn the world down for the women they love.
I love chatting to readers about my books, or books in general, so please get in touch! You can follow me on Facebook and instagram as well as on here as Sadie Kincaid Author.
The constant self deprecation from the female lead was exhausting. Like more than halfway through the book. It got old really quickly. She is plus size but is constantly insecure and talking about her body. Don’t get me wrong.. most women at some point in life have moments of poor self esteem. But this was a lot. This book felt like one giant therapy session with small amounts of plot. I think it could have been edited down a lot. But that’s just my opinion. The positive was the main characters had good communication, and the subjects of addiction, and SA were handled well.
I love Maddox James!! I loved the little snippets we got of him in Played and was so excited he was getting his own book, because I love him even more!!
Made was an amazing read. Getting to know more about Maddox and everything he experienced and overcame. Seeing him be the obsessive, possessive, protective MMC.....oooo boy!!
Ellie was such a great character. I loved how strong and independent she was. Like Maddox she had experienced a lot of trauma and survived to be an even better version of herself.
Sadie does such a fantastic job writing her books. There's depth, emotion, and lots of spice. Made is definitely a must read.
Oh my god!! Maddox and Ellie’s story is hands down my favorite. They originally met in Morocco but after spending an evening talking and having the best time, Maddox turns Ellie down. She was devastated but never forgot him. They run into each other again while she was at work. They become close again. They both had their demons that they were dealing with but there was a lot of swoon, laughter, banter and love. We also got a bit of suspense and a TON of spice. I could not get enough of this book. I hate that the series is over but what a way to end the series. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was the best conclusion to the Manhattan series. Maddox and Ellie's story was perfect and everything their characters deserved.
I fell in love with Maddox earlier in the series but just fell so much more for him here in Made. That man is the greenest flag. The way he fights for himself and then the obsessive/possessive side of him with Ellie. I was overheating and swooning the whole damn book.
We also get some fantastic banter, some laugh out loud moments and spice that will take you out (in the best way).
If I could give this ♾️ stars I would. These James boys have been taking us THROUGH IT for a very long time and I’m so glad Maddox was the one to end the series.
What a man. I mean seriously. What a story! What a freaking FMC! I won’t say her name because it’ll spoil things and you’ll find out things you may not want to find out. She is my favorite woman of this series outside of Amber.
I loved their friendship. It was so pure ( and decidedly NOT pure 😏). I think we’ve all experienced a friendship we wish was more. The way they’ve worked on themselves and their demons but how they still bring healing and comfort to each other is just chefs kiss good. Maddox is able to anticipate her needs and voice them so well that WE ALL felt seen in that moment. He is absolutely the most communicative of the brothers. Golden retriever to his core.
We already know this family’s story. The loss of a wife. A mom. It shaped each of them I different and heartbreaking ways but Maddox’ story was especially deep and painful. HER story was especially deep and painful. They were perfect for each other in their struggles and demons.
This was a bit of a slow burn and you’ll be yearning right along with them but when they started the burn??? 🔥 🔥🔥🔥 3.5🌶️
Elijah and Maddox are definitely my favs of these brothers but they all hold a special place. This SERIES holds a special place in my heart.
🖤curvy FMC 🖤he breaks his celibacy for her 🖤friends to lovers 🖤touch her &💀 🖤found family 🖤praise
Maddox and Ellie’s story was absolutely everything! These two truly are meant for each other. Made is the 5th and final book in the Manhattan Ruthless Series. It can be read as a stand alone but be aware, there will be spoilers from the other books. Made had me hooked half way through the first chapter! It is just that fantastic.
I adored Ellie as our FMC. She was so fierce and strong despite going through literal hell in her early life. We’ve all been waiting for Maddox to share his story and I have to say I loved him so much! The way he was with Ellie was everything! Seeing these two work on overcoming their past traumas, both together and separate, was amazing. Again they are an absolutely perfect pair. Their broken pieces just fit together to make each other whole.
Seeing the James family again as well some other old favorites was awesome. I’m so sad for this series to end but I can’t wait for what Sadie has in store for us next.
Thank you to Sadie Kincaid for the ARC of this book.
Made by @sadie_kincaidxx This is Book 5 in The Manhattan Ruthless Series We have finally made it to the last of the James Brothers! Maddox’s definitely did not disappoint! This book is one you will not be able to put down! Both Maddox and Ellie have traumatic pasts that have shaped them into who they are. What started as one night of heartbreak turned into a second chance at something magical! This book has the best yearning, tension, and spice 🥵 (he breaks his celibacy for her). It is the perfect ending to the James brothers story! And we have to love all the cameos from the other series! I can’t recommend this book and series enough! Really any Sadie book is a must buy!
This books is set to release May 28th! 💛
The previous books in the series are: Broken, Promise Me Forever, Rebound, and Played. (They are just as amazing!)
I loved this series so much. Every James brother holds a special place in my heart, but Maddox is especially dear to me. I was really looking forward to his story, and it was absolutely perfect. Sadie did an outstanding job and delivered everything you could want in a book: love, spice, angst, tension, and so much emotion. Both Maddox’s and Ellie’s stories were heartbreaking. They are both so strong and have gone through so much, so I was incredibly happy they got their HEA!
I loved every second of this book, but I especially loved seeing all those beloved characters from the different series make an appearance. I think it’s so clever how she weaved everything together so seamlessly. She truly saved the best for last. I’m sad this series is over, but I’m so excited to see what’s next.
A chance meeting in Morocco brings two broken souls together. Sadly, for Maddox, it was the wrong time and place.
When they finally run into each other again a few years later, the world rights itself.
But with hidden secrets in their pasts, will they still accept each other despite their demons, or will they become stronger because of them?
I love the Manhattan Ruthless series so much, and this book definitely didn’t disappoint. Maddox is perfect. A little broken but fixable. He has a dark side, but so much love for the right person.
Ellie is strong, resilient, and has been through a lot. A total warrior. She’s a curvy, hot headed live wire, and they just fit together so perfectly. Their connection is beautiful to read.
I am a huge fan of Sadie’s and this series especially is outstanding. It’s emotional and thought provoking with depth and family at the heart.
I love Maddox, he is a real special character who works hard to be the best version of himself, I enjoyed Ellie’s development as a character in the middle I did find her slightly whiney but honestly she was a perfect fit for Mad and a great addition to the James clan!
I LOVED the character crossovers, it was extremely comforting to have them pop in and see where they are now - Lorenzo is my fave so that was perfection!
I may 80% I was like wow this book bravo. And then realised I had 20% left and panicked my little butt off - however it was gripping and fast paced. I just love when the MMC goes all alpha protector.
Omg! This book was absolutely perfect! What an ending to the James family saga!! I’ve been waiting for Maddox’s story and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Maddox and Ellie were absolutely everything! The trauma they suffered through, and the healing they both had was devastating and heart wrenching, but oh so perfect!! I always love seeing the crossover characters and this one definitely was amazing for that aspect of it! It’s amazing how a book can make you feel all the things!!! I’m so sad that it’s the end of the series, but hope to see more of the James clan in the future!! Thank you for yet another beautiful journey!!!
Oh Sadie! Mad dog and Ellie what a broken duo that fit so perfectly!!
They both have been through so much but are such amazing adults trying to give back and move forward. They meet again unexpectedly after a wonderful night together traveling that needed with both feeling so many things. They start a friendship that leads to so much more.
Made was everything I hoped it would be and more. Maddox and Ellie’s friendship was beautiful from the get go. They both have been through it and navigated their trauma from their pasts in a way that works best for each of them. When their friendship inevitably becomes more they face challenges that really test them and the love for one another.
Maddox is what every woman wants their significant other to be - possessive, protective and communicates impeccably. Take notes men of the world because this man is something else!
The cameos from the ruthless world were amazing, it was like a coming home I didn’t know I needed.
What an incredible why to finish off the James Brothers and I really do hope we get to see them in the next Ruthless world adventures 🖤
I have been looking forward to reading Maddoxs book for so long and I can’t help but feel like it was a bit rushed even thought I know it wasn’t? It just didn’t hit how the others in the series had but with saying that I still loved the book I just wanted more? Maybe I’m greedy? I love that Ellie is more of a curvy character and how Maddox loves her. I love that Keres was back for a portion of it and my baby lorenzo. I’d recommend it but it’s not my fave in the series that’s all.

⚡REVIEW⚡
I have read all of Manhattan Ruthless, and after the breadcrumbs dripped through the previous books, Maddox's story was the one I was most looking forward to. And I was not disappointed!
After a misunderstanding left both parties with the wrong idea about the other, Maddox and Ellie are thrown into each other's orbit again by chance, when he sees her working with his brothers Mason and Elijah. After a period of tension, the truth finally comes to light and a strong friendship is forged (even though neither of them have a remotely platonic thought about the other). When it finally turns romantic, it is hotter than hot.
Maddox James is a giant softie who is incredibly aware of both himself and others, and the impact of things he says and does. After a torrid time as a younger man, he has been celibate for years, as part of addiction management. He is quick to recognise if he inadvertently causes any hurt or distress, particularly when it comes to Ellie. In that aspect, he is the dream. But this is a Sadie book, and therefore he has his dark side and his demons. He is fiery when it comes to her, lashing out at his brothers over perceived slights (which had me swooning, because who doesn't want a huge, tattooed protector who also knows what to say if he thinks he's gotten it wrong? 😍), and he has a secret in his past that, as it inevitably does, comes back to bite. But what I really loved about him was his positivity when it came to her body. It can be easy to fall into the trap of using plus size as a gimmick without understanding the hangups that go with it, but I feel like Sadie nailed the appreciation and also the way he helped her through her insecurities. He made her feel beautiful, sexy and cherished.
Along those lines, I thought Sadie's interpretation of a plus size heroine was very thought out and considerate. Whilst Ellie was usually positive about her curves and her eating habits, she had her moments of insecurity and self loathing, which I can totally empathise with as a plus size woman. It is extremely hard when being next to the aspirational slim woman, not to feel some sense of insecurity, no matter how much your partner appears to adore you, and I felt like it came across very authentically in this book. I also loved Ellie's acceptance of Maddox's history, with the context of her own background and her adopted family meaning she only loved him more fiercely for it.
As always with a Sadie Ruthless book, there is a twist in the tale that brings the third act drama, and this one is a doozy. My heart was in my mouth as the action played out, wondering how Maddox would respond, and whether his demons would take over.
Ellie's adopted family meant some cameos of old friends from Sadie's other Ruthless series', which were a joy, particularly one character who has been my favourite of all time. The James brothers and their families are always a delight to see, their bonds so strong and their instant rallying cry in a time of need providing a sense of family over anything else.
Made is a story of demons, redemption, acceptance, insecurity and positive affirmation, wrapped up in a love story that is so beautiful it made my heart ache. As a plus sized character in my own story, I dream of a love and appreciation like Maddox gives Ellie.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to review this book!

I genuinely don’t think words are enough for how much I adored this finale to the Manhattan Ruthless series 😭🖤 After everything the James brothers have survived and endured throughout this journey, having Maddox close out the series felt absolutely perfect.
Maddox has always stood apart from his brothers. While the others carried chaos loudly, he carried his pain quietly. Calm, thoughtful, endlessly patient, and somehow the softest James brother despite everything life threw at him 🥹 Golden retriever energy in the most dangerous and devoted man possible. The deeper we got into his story, the more my heart completely belonged to him.
And Ellie??? Oh my god 😭❤️ She instantly became one of my favorite women in this entire series alongside Amber. Ellie is vulnerable, funny, loving, and painfully relatable at times, especially with her insecurities and struggles with self-worth. The emotional depth she brought to this story wrecked me.
What made this romance hit so hard was the foundation of Maddox and Ellie’s friendship. There’s something so emotional about two people wanting more for so long while trying to convince themselves friendship is enough 🫠 The connection between them felt natural, comforting, messy, and deeply healing. They understood each other in ways nobody else could because both of them carried years of grief, trauma, and emotional scars.
The way Maddox loved Ellie??? I’m unwell 🥵❤️ This man noticed every little thing she needed before she even had to say it out loud. He reassured her, uplifted her, worshipped every part of her, and constantly made her feel wanted and beautiful exactly as she was. Their emotional intimacy honestly melted me just as much as the physical chemistry did.
And listen… when the slow burn finally ignited between Maddox and Ellie??? 🔥🔥🔥 Absolutely worth the wait. The tension between them built so perfectly throughout the story that every romantic moment felt ten times more intense. Maddox may come across controlled and composed, but beneath that calm exterior is a possessive, devoted man completely gone for Ellie 😩
I also loved how deeply this story tied back into the family’s history. The loss that shaped the James brothers has always lingered over this series, but seeing how profoundly it impacted Maddox added so much emotional weight. Both Maddox and Ellie had darkness in their pasts, yet together they found safety, comfort, and healing in one another.
And the crossover moments with the Chicago series?? PERFECT 👏 Seeing beloved characters again made this feel like such a full-circle ending. It reminded me why I fell in love with Sadie’s worlds in the first place.
This book had everything I wanted — friendship-to-lovers, emotional healing, devotion, praise, protective energy, found comfort, incredible chemistry, family bonds, and the sweetest ending imaginable 💕 Maddox and Ellie will absolutely stay with me forever, and this entire series now owns a permanent place in my heart.
What a finale for the Manhattan Ruthless Series, I am so sad to be saying goodbye to the James brothers and I absolutely treasured every page of this book but Sadie definitely saved the best for last because I loved every second of Maddox and Ellie’s story🥹
If you have read any of the books in the series you will understand that the James brothers lost their mother and this was absolutely devastating to the entire family and this loss cause most of the brothers to harden their hearts. Maddox is no exception to this but he also suffered another devastating loss and blamed himself for this and as a result ended up losing himself. Maddox was so far down the rabbit hole that he knew he needed to pull himself out and this lead him to bettering himself by becoming sober and celibate.
Our Ellie she is strong and an absolute warrior who also comes with some dark history, she spent many years caring for her younger siblings and suffering at the hands of her father, and honestly my heart broke for her. But a dark Queen in the name of Keres (yes the Kere) definitely came to the rescue and she took Ellie and her siblings under her wing and made them family. When it came Moretti family they protect their own and now Ellie is an extension of this and I was absolutely living for these moments, especially with Maddox meeting Ace, Romeo and Keres 🤣
Now back to Maddox and Ellie and these two have a history in which they actually met a few years ago while they both were in Marrakesh. Of course sparks were flying between the pair and Ellie made a bold decision of inviting Maddox back in which he politely declined. The reason for this was this was during Maddox’s celibacy period and while he was attracted to Ellie he didn’t want to fall off the wagon and lose himself once again. But that certainly did not stop Ellie from consuming his mind and while Maddox did return to give Ellie his number in the hopes something could blossom Ellie was embarrassed and had a friend say that she was no longer there.
The pair meet again years later and let’s just say Maddox is absolutely shocked to see the woman who consumed his mind working at his brothers company. Of course there is a bit of miscommunication in regards to the Marrakesh incident but the pair do sort it out and become friends and this is where the romance starts to blossom🤭.
Maddox absolutely worshiped the ground that Ellie walked on. Ellie has some insecurities and you best believe that Maddox jumped through hoops to put her mind at ease. I just loved the relationship between these two, they were the definition of everything happens for a reason, while the timing may not have been right when they first met they found their way back to each other.
Thank you so much to the author who provided this e-arc for my honest thoughts 💭
Made, by Sadie Kincaid, is the fifth and final book in the Manhattan Ruthless series featuring the James brothers. Honestly? I think she saved the best for last. Although Elijah & Amber from Rebound still own my heart.
Maddox is the youngest James brother, and if you’ve read the first four books then you already know he’s always been the calm one and the voice of reason. Underneath all that “zen”, we learn that he is wrestling with some demons. After losing his mother and struggling heavily in his younger years, Maddox has rebuilt himself completely. He’s in recovery, emotionally grounded, and has even taken a vow of celibacy until a relationship actually means something to him.
Enter Ellie!
Ellie also comes into this story carrying a painful past. Difficult childhood, difficult teen years, lots of trauma she’s had to work through on her own. What I loved most about this book is that neither of them is “fixing” the other. They’ve already done the work on themselves. They meet as two people still healing, still human, but genuinely trying.
Ellie works for the James brothers, and one day Maddox walks in… and they recognize each other immediately. Two years earlier they met while traveling in Marrakesh and had an intense connection. But because Maddox had just started his vow of celibacy, their night became emotional intimacy instead of romantic. Ellie interpreted that as rejection, so when they reconnect years later, she’s guarded and reserved.
Meanwhile Maddox cannot stop thinking about her.
The slow burn in this book is SO good. They move from awkwardness to becoming absolute best friends before finally admitting their feelings. For the first two-thirds of the book, you think you’re just reading this beautiful, emotional love story…and then the chaos ensues.
Their pasts come crashing back in really dark ways, and suddenly the book twists into suspense, danger, family secrets, and survival. This is where the connections to the Chicago Ruthless series become important. Ellie’s family ties into that world, and several characters from that series play major roles here.
Both characters were so relatable. Ellie is confident, yet deeply insecure at times, constantly overthinking and spiraling in her own thoughts in a way that felt incredibly real. Maddox is gorgeous, composed, and self-assured outwardly, but internally he also still battles doubt and fear. Their inner monologues made them feel so human and easy to connect with.
This was such a beautiful way to wrap up the entire series. Emotional, vulnerable, romantic, suspenseful — just genuinely satisfying from beginning to end. I highly recommend checking out the whole series before reading this book.
Ending the series with a bang! I'm going to miss these James brothers 😢
The way that I've been dyingggggg to read Maddox's story - up until this moment we never really got to understand Maddox, he's always been different to the other James brothers which made him even more intriguing. But let me tell you, Maddox James is THE biggest golden retriever x mad man you will ever meet. Maddox went through a tough time with this ex girlfriend and he's been working on himself ever since - even though we don't get to experience much of Maddox's past, you can really feel how much it affected him during that time and how much he tries to do right by himself, for his family, and for Ellie; I respect that man so much.
Ellie is super sweet and courageous, one that lights up a room when she walks in, but also has a lot of insecurities, particularly her weight. At the beginning I loved how fearce she was about her appearance and standing up to her ex boyfriend, she was radiating confidence. Not long after, she was reintroduced to Maddox and suddenly she felt insecure due to their first encounter, which was very much understandable. Although throughout, there were a few instances where Ellie would question everything about herself and Maddox's intentions to the point it started to frustrate me because it was evident that Maddox worshiped the ground she walked on, loved every single ounce of her, and stood by her side through everything - he's literally every girls dream and I wanted to be that friend and be like "get out of your head girlllll!". Nevertheless, I loved Ellie's warmth and pure love for Maddox, she had soft spot for him every since they met and having gone through troubling times herself, she treasured his purity.
This wouldn't be a Sadie Kincaid book without the spice. As always, it was perfectionnnnn - tension, angst, neeeeeedddd - she just knows how to do it, and to see Maddox unravel after all that time, the man was saving himselffffff! 🔥
I also LOVE a series crossover. Seeing characters from the Chicago Ruthless series was such a joy and it reminded me why I loved their books so much - I feel like I need a short novella / story with the characters from Chicago Ruthless and Manhattan Ruthless series because that would SLAP!! 😮💨
I'm sad to see this series come to an end, but saving Maddox and Ellie for last was the perfect ending to a brilliant series 👏🏻
Thanks to Sadie for the e-ARC, always a pleasure being on your team ❤️

Made by Sadie Kincaid completely consumed me from beginning to end. This book delivers the perfect balance of emotional depth, aching slow burn tension, and an unforgettable friends to lovers' romance that felt raw and incredibly real. Maddox and Ellie’s connection was impossible not to fall in love with, especially because their relationship was built on genuine friendship, vulnerability, and years of unresolved feelings.
Maddox was everything I love in a romance hero. He had that golden retriever energy that made him charming, caring, and impossible not to adore, but underneath all of that sweetness was a darker, intensely possessive side that added so much chemistry to every scene. Watching him fall first and completely unravel for her was honestly one of the best parts of the story. Every glance, every lingering touch, and every late night conversation carried so much emotion that I could feel the tension building with every chapter.
What really stood out to me was how emotionally layered this story was. Both characters carried pain and trauma from their pasts, and the healing journey between them felt authentic and beautifully written. The second chance element added even more emotional weight because you could feel how deeply that rejection affected her, and how much regret Maddox had carried ever since. Once the truth finally came out, everything between them shifted in the most satisfying way.
The chemistry was incredible, but this book never relied only on romance. The emotional intimacy, trust, forgiveness, and friendship made their relationship feel strong and believable. I also loved the curvy FMC representation and how confident and relatable Ellie felt throughout the story.
This was emotional, romantic, addictive, and full of heart. If you love slow burn romance, friends to lovers tension, protective heroes, emotional healing, and a man who falls hard and never looks back, this book absolutely delivers.
Made by Sadie Kincaid is an absolute masterpiece of dark romance—intense, emotional, seductive, and completely unforgettable. From the very first page, this book pulls you into a dangerous world filled with power, obsession, loyalty, and a love so fierce it consumes everything in its path. I was hooked instantly and honestly never wanted it to end.
Sadie Kincaid has a way of creating characters that feel larger than life while still being deeply emotional and human. The chemistry between the main characters is electric—every glance, every touch, every confrontation drips with tension and passion. Their relationship is messy, raw, addictive, and beautifully written. You don’t just watch them fall for each other—you feel every moment of it right alongside them.
The emotional depth in this story is what truly makes it shine. Beneath the darkness and danger is a story about trust, vulnerability, and finding love in the most unexpected places. The characters are flawed in the best way possible, making their journey feel authentic and powerful. I laughed, I stressed, I swooned, and I was completely emotionally wrecked by the end.
The writing is phenomenal—smooth, immersive, and impossible to put down. Sadie Kincaid balances high-stakes suspense with breathtaking romance flawlessly. Every chapter leaves you desperate for the next, and the twists and emotional moments hit with full force. The tension throughout the story is absolutely addictive.
And let’s talk about the spice—because wow. The passion in this book is off-the-charts hot while still feeling emotional and meaningful. The romance is consuming, protective, and intensely captivating in a way that keeps your heart racing the entire time.
⭐ 5/5 stars — an absolute MUST READ. Made is dark romance perfection and one of those books that stays with you long after you finish the last page. If you love emotionally intense romances with unforgettable characters, explosive chemistry, and nonstop tension, this book deserves a top spot on your reading list. #spicy #spicyromance #sadiekincaid #romancebooks #mustreads #mustreads #kindleunlimitedrecs #kindleunlimitedromance #kindleunlimitedbooks
If you’re into slow burn romance that actually earns the payoff, Made really delivers.
Maddox James is one of those rare MMCs who feels fully layered, he’s not just “hot and broody” for the sake of it. Yes, he’s ridiculously attractive and has that golden retriever charm, but there’s a depth to him that unfolds gradually, and it’s that emotional complexity that makes him so compelling. His celibacy storyline could’ve felt gimmicky in another book, but here it’s handled with real care, and when the truth comes out, it genuinely hits.
The dynamic between him and the Ellie is where this book shines. Their history adds tension right from the start, and the way their relationship rebuilds, from awkward reconnection to genuine friendship and then into something more, feels natural and satisfying. The slow burn is slow, but in a way that keeps you hooked rather than frustrated, every lingering glance and almost touch actually means something, which makes the eventual shift into romance all the more intense.
I also really appreciated Ellie, she’s relatable, emotionally grounded, and her vulnerability never feels weak. The “curvy FMC” element isn’t just thrown in as a label either, it’s part of who she is without defining her entire character, which is refreshing.
Another highlight was the emotional weight running through the story. Both characters carry past wounds, and the book doesn’t shy away from exploring how those experiences shape them. The themes of healing and forgiveness are woven in without becoming heavy handed, and it gives the romance a bit more substance than your typical contemporary read.
And if you’ve read Sadie’s previous books, the cameos are such a nice touch. They add a sense of continuity without taking over the story, and it’s always fun seeing familiar faces pop up again.
Overall, Made is a heartfelt, character driven romance with a proper slow burn, strong emotional core, and a hero who will absolutely ruin your standards. If you like friends to lovers with tension, depth, and a payoff that feels deserved, this one’s definitely worth picking up.
"I know she sees everything. She sees the dark corners of my heart; knows every bad thing I've ever done or thought or wanted to do. She knows the way I'm made, and she still fucking loves me."
Sweet baby Maddox sure did wrap up the series in the sweetest bow ever. Maddox's story has been the one I have been waiting for since the beginning. Maddox has always been so mysterious with how he came to be who he is now. Made, I feel, is best read in series order, as close together as possible, to get the full backstory and understanding of who Maddox was and is. In addition to reading Keres before Made for Ellie's story. I was able to remember some things from Ellie's younger years but not all. I really do love how connected this book is to both Manhattan Ruthless and Chicago Ruthless. Sadie's Ruthless Cameos are always top tier, but I think Made is my favorite so far! Lorenzo, Keres, Ace, and Romeo being a part of this book made everything connect in such an amazing and loving way.
The hurt that both Ellie and Maddox have experienced in their lives, no one should ever have to endure. The fact that they were able to find each other again made me feel all sorts of ways; mainly warm and fuzzy. I also really related to Ellie on a personal front of overthinking everything and the self-deprecating behavior. Her thoughts throughout were exactly how I would have felt in the same positions.
Maddox and Ellie are exactly what the other person needs. Maddox doesn't get annoyed with Ellie when she overthinks a situation. He always helps her talk it through but also did not allow her to talk negatively about herself. Ellie also was there for Maddox when it came to talking about his past, the things that he has done, and never running away from him.
This is an amazing story of Karma working in some amazing ways. If you loved Keres and her Warrior spirit, you would love Ellie. And if you love the James brothers but want one who doesn't put his foot in his mouth at the WORST TIMES POSSIBLE, then Made is your next ticket to Manhattan!
In short, this was the love story I didn't know I needed. Two souls who met by fate one night in another country meet again at his brother's company, where she works. The building of their friendship has to be my favorite part of this whole book. Sadie took her time with their story, did not rush it, and it was everything I could have ever wanted. I cannot wait to see what Sadie brings next in Las Vegas!
"For anyone ever made to feel like they weren’t enough, Maddox James is here to love you exactly as you are."
This definitely was my most anticipated ARCs and reads of 2026. And Sadie did not disappoint.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Made was the perfect conclusion to the Manhattan Ruthless series. I got a little emotional reading the last page, because I can't believe it's the end. While I'm sure the James brothers will appear again, as so many of our favorite characters, every time an amazing series ends is hard.
This was a story of healing, conquering fears and coming the terms with the past. Ellie and Maddox were a match made (no pun intended) in second chance heaven. Ellie and Maddox made each other feel seen, and heard. Miscommunications were cleared up like adults. And the spice was spicing! I'll never look at coconut oil the same again 🤣
And Nathan James had his redemption arc, his protectiveness of his brothers was admirable.
“Thank you, Goddess, for big dicks, sinfully talented tongues, and Maddox James’s magical fingers.” I agree Ellie we definitely need this on tshirts.
The cameos and Easter eggs from the other series made me nostalgic. And the hopeless romantic therapist that I am found this book a great reminder that we can't run away from our pasts or fears, we must conquer them.
Now I'm off to binge reread Sadie Kincaid's entire backlog, while I "patiently" wait for the Vegas Ruthless series. Pray for me y'all, because Made put me in a reading slump... though I'm not complaining.
Favorite Quotes:
"Gray sweats on a hot man. The goddess’s gift to women, to make up for periods and the agony of childbirth."
“Anyway. It’s your fault. Can you really blame a girl? Look at you.” He shakes his head. “Can’t. Too busy looking at you.”
“Remember? I think you could teach a masterclass in cunnilingus.” That makes him laugh, a deep booming sound that echoes of the walls. I love his laugh. “Maybe if the restaurant doesn’t work out, huh?”
Made absolutely wrecked me in the best way possible. I already knew going in that Sadie Kincaid was going to give me obsession, tension, emotional damage, and filthy spice, but Maddox James somehow exceeded all of my expectations. This man had me down BAD.
Maddox is the perfect mix of emotionally tortured, protective, possessive, and secretly soft beneath all the control. The slow burn between him and Ellie was torture in the best possible way because every conversation, every lingering touch, and every moment of restraint felt loaded with tension. You could feel how badly he wanted her even while trying to hold himself back, and honestly? It made everything ten times hotter when those walls finally started breaking down.
What I loved most was that their relationship actually had depth. Ellie wasn’t just there to be desired—she felt real, vulnerable, funny, and easy to root for. Their friendship, history, emotional wounds, and chemistry made all the spicy scenes hit even harder. Sadie Kincaid always knows how to write chemistry that feels completely addictive, but this one also had so much heart underneath the angst and chaos. And Maddox being the youngest James brother? OBSESSED. Watching him slowly lose control over his feelings while trying to keep everyone at arm’s length was so addictive to read. The man spent half the book trying not to fall apart over Ellie and it was addictive to read.
The tension, the banter, the possessiveness, the found family vibes, the emotional vulnerability, the spice… all of it was perfection. I genuinely did not want this book to end. Sadie Kincaid has officially cemented herself as one of my auto-read authors because every single book leaves me completely addicted to these characters and their world. And now excuse me while I sit here emotionally unwell over Maddox James for the foreseeable future. 🖤
Thank you Sadie Kincaid for the e-arc. All opinions are my own.
Made is the fourth book in the series and follows Maddox and Ellie in a beautifully emotional second-chance romance that felt like the perfect way to close out this world.
Ellie is a curvy FMC who has endured more than her fair share of trauma and heartbreak. After finally ending things with her toxic boyfriend, Owen, she unexpectedly reconnects with Maddox—the man she once shared an unforgettable connection with. Maddox is a recovering addict who battles his demons every day, committed to his sobriety and a self-imposed celibacy pact. But seeing Ellie again challenges everything he thought he had under control.
What I loved most about this book was the depth of both characters. Sadie Kincaid did an incredible job portraying addiction and the daily struggles that come with recovery. Maddox’s journey felt authentic, raw, and inspiring. Equally impactful was Ellie’s battle with self-esteem and body image. Her insecurities surrounding her weight and self-worth were written in such a relatable way that I found myself connecting with her on so many levels.
Their relationship wasn’t built on instant passion but on friendship, trust, understanding, and healing. Watching them help each other confront old wounds and overcome past tragedies made their love story feel earned and meaningful. While I would have loved a little more spice earlier in the book, I completely understood why the romance unfolded as a slow burn. The pacing allowed their emotional connection to develop naturally, making their eventual relationship even more satisfying.
This was a heartfelt, emotional, and hopeful story about healing, recovery, self-acceptance, and finding love when you least expect it. It was a beautiful ending to a series I’ve thoroughly enjoyed, and honestly, I’m not ready to say goodbye to these characters. I wish this world could continue forever. ❤️📚
