Rainbow Magic features differing groups of fairies as main characters, including the Jewel fairies, Weather fairies, Pet fairies, Petal fairies, and Sporty fairies.
Narinder Dhami was born in Wolverhampton, England on November 15, 1958. She received a degree in English from Birmingham University in 1980. After having taught in primary and secondary schools for several years she began to write full-time. Dhami has published many retellings of popular Disney stories and wrote the Animal Stars and Babes series, the latter about young British girls of Asian origin. She lives in Cambridge, England with her husband and cats.
Sue Bentley was born in Northampton, England. She worked in a library after completing her education and began writing for children once her own began school. Bentley is the author of the Magic Kitten, Magic Puppy, and S Club series and lives in Northamptonshire.
Linda Chapman has written over 50 children's fiction books, including the following series: My Secret Unicorn, Stardust, Not Quite a Mermaid, and Unicorn School. She lives in Leicestershire with her husband and daughters.
Sue Mongredien was born in 1970 and grew up in Nottingham, England. She has published over 100 children's books, including the following series: The Adventures of Captain Pugwash, The Magic Key, Frightful Families, and Oliver Moon. She has also contributed many titles to the Sleepover Club series and written picture books. Mongredien created the Royal Ballet School Diaries under the pen name Alexandra Moss. She lives with her family in Bath, England.

A lovely book for young readers at Christmas. If you are a fan of Rainbow Magic Fairy books this is a must.

I loved this as a child. Yes I know I am a boy and this should appeal to girls only, but fairies (kind and beautiful on the outside, dark on the inside) always fascinated me. I was a strange kid.

When they found out that Jack Frost had taken Santa's sleigh and 3 special presents (because he had been so naughty that Santa wasn't giving him any presents this year), I was curious to see if the girls and Holly were going to get them back. When they found the first present and Rachel's dog led them to the goblins who had it, they tricked them into thinking that there were cookies by sprinkling fairy dust on the top layer of the barn. Then they got the present and Holly sent it back to the king and queen of fairyland. When the second present was found, Jack Frost was pretending to be Santa in the sleigh. A little girl came out crying and said, "The reindeer were all furry and nice, but Santa wasn't very nice! He won't give me a present, even though he had so many and he was all cold and spiky." The girls and Holly heard this and they knew it wasn't the real Santa. (So would have I!) Jack Frost and his sleigh got away, but they got another present back. The next day the girls and Holly went to Jack Frost's ice castle and one of the girls got wrapping paper and ribbon on a crown that would send Jack Frost back to fairyland in front of the King and Queen and said, "won't you take pity on us? We only came here to get this one special present for the fairy king." Jack Frost put the crown on his head once he opened it and dropped the other present that they needed. Then she grabbed the present and they were out of there. They got the sleigh back to santa and went home. The fairy queen told them that the three special presents were so special because they were for them. Joy got a new wand and the 2 girls got a fairy for the top of their Christmas trees. Every year the fairy would give them an extra present from the fairies. It was a magical and wonderful book!

I always display a small Christmas tree. And I always spend the day with my friends.
Tow goblins scrambled for a present. They both didn't hand over that. Have you ever experienced such a situation?

I read this one to my daughter and particularly liked it since they dealt with Jack Frost directly rather than just goblins. Also I started reading it three days before Christmas, exactly the same time as the book so I only read the part for that day and read the next two sections over the following two days.

Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic.
Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.
On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon!
If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!

Another fun collection of adventures. This time, Rachel and Kirsty are joined by a different fairy while they try to track down Santa's sleigh and three special presents. While the books are a bit formulaic, it's done well, and it works for the target audience. I think the thing that felt like it was missing a bit was the significance of the three presents. Rachel and Kirsty aren't told at the beginning why these are more important than the others. It comes together, but it felt like it took away a bit of the urgency seen in the other books.
Once again, Jack Frost is an enjoyable character--he's so mildly villainous that it's somewhat brilliant. With the right voice actor, he would be great in an animated series. Like the other books, things are wrapped up with no loose ends, so it's satisfying for kids while also being fun for parents.

This is my first dive into the Fairy series. I found this box set of Christmas themed reads at a used book store and picked it up/ This story revolves around two friend's who have various adventures with the Fairies. This time around it's with Holly the Christmas fairy who is trying to track down Jack Frost who has stolen Santa Clauses sleigh. The story was really sweet and I loved the friendship between the two young girls.

This was a cute book about Holly, the christmas fairy, and 2 girls (Kirsten and Rachel) that have to save Christmas because Jack Frost has stolen Santa's sleigh and 3 critical presents. My 4 year old was scared reading this book because Jack Frost and his goblins were scary, but its a quick moving, entertaining read.

I just finished reading this sweet special edition of Rainbow Magic , Holly the Christmas Fairy, to my four-year-old granddaughter via facetime. Such special memories we are creating together, she's such a joy to read to and these books are so magical! #ChapterbookswiththeGrand #LongDistanceReading

this was my favorite book as a little girl, not only because the fairy’s name was Holly but i LOVE christmas as well, so i was so excited to read about a fairy with my name who was a christmas fairy of all things. this book will never get old and i cannot wait to read it to my kids one day.

From a promising start this went quickly downhill. The premise of Jack Frost stealing Santa’s sleigh was actually interesting, unfortunately the actual plot fails to use the idea to any real effect.
My six year old likes the predictability of these Rainbow Fairy books, so she wasn’t disappointed.

Read this to a 4-year old and she loved it. I quite enjoyed it too, and will definitely be looking for other books in this series to read to her.
