I picked this up on Kindle and I have to say, I didn't care for it. The writing was decent but not great, and the story was a bit odd. It's sort of LitRPG, except that the video game seems to be infiltrating the real world, as opposed to someone being in a video game.
Derek inherits a farm from his uncle, who oddly chose to skip leaving it to his sons, Derek's cousins. Before the will is settled, Derek decides to leave the military academy he's studying in, go out to the farm, and pick the very odd lock down in the basement. What he finds is three sexy goblin girls who know he is and want to breed with him. That kind of sets the tone for the rest of the book.
Later, while exploring, he finds a different kind of "monster girl" who also, of course, wants to have sex with him, and they go on a sort of basic dungeon crawl adventure. One of Derek's cousins shows up, and he's a pretty despicable piece of work on every front, and gets worse as the story goes on.
There's no part of this I can point to and say, "Hey, this was particularly bad," but none of it was really great, either. I have the impression there will be more in the series, but I think I'm going to pass.
