This book had me hooked from the first chapter. Immediately we're given an air of mystery as you listen to our main character Harper Lane go over her years of dealing with an awful therapist. Soon after we're all given a sense of hope as Brody Shaw wants to help her figure out what's wrong with her and why she's 'losing time'.
That's when this book shifts from a possible simple romance into something that I can only describe as a really, really good episode of criminal minds or a movie with a similar feel to that. The twists and turns are never ending and keep you wanting more so you can figure out how everything is going to play out. At times you're left feeling exasperated and a bit hopeless; like things are never going to get better for Harper and antagonists will never get what's coming to them. In the end, it all comes together beautifully in a good, satisfying ending.
As soon as I finished reading and I finally had to set this book down, I wished that I could immediately forget everything I'd just read so I could start over from the beginning. I truly cannot recommend this book enough. It's addicting on a new level. But please do pay mind to the trigger warnings! Take them seriously! This book is dark and uncomfortable. That being said, I think the author handled it all amazingly. Not once was I left feeling that any of it was romanticized or taken lightly.
