Female got on my nerves
I would have enjoyed this short read but Ivy got on my nerves. Spoiler Alert
Ivy pretends that she some honest woman, but she’s not. I found her to be very manipulative. She has a one night stand, which is okay. How he use a condom and she supposed to be on a pill, but yet she’ s pregnant. I know it can happen but not with both🙄 When she tells him, she act has if he has no right to call her out, she ran away and didn’t want to give last names, but four months later you show up saying you having his baby and he surpose to just believe you especially after you take the money. Then when he realized he’s a man and wants to know for sure, Ivy once again make it about her. He want to be a father but she’s worried about if he would love her or walk away from her. Not about you, it’s about the baby. I see this in real life, now I have to read about it. I maybe overreacting but it piss me off, when he was telling her he didn’t handle the news well and wants to be a father and she standing thinking about Herself and her wants. You slept with him one night and ran, you don’t need to work three jobs if he willing to share the load. Women like that are not independent, they are narcissist who’s always looking for sympathy and very selfish. Think I done with this author, all her female characters seem to be this way in her books

Fuming because this author doesn’t know how to finish her damn books. Her books literally end in the middle of a conversation where h has screwed up and is asking for forgiveness.
I was reading for the side plot with the teens Gracie and Luke and he turned out to be awful. 😔

Unsure.
I feel a little weird with the ending. Like there should be more. And I’m curious about Gracie. To we get more? What happened? Did it end this way so you’d have to continue the series? Because I def won’t be. I hate when an author tries to drag the rest of a main story into someone else’s book to make sure you keep reading. Where is the rest of the book?

I wanted to like this more
Yikes. Man, I wanted to like this more. CJ really grew on me. And boy did he try so hard, and Ivy just shot him down again and again. She was so extremely unlikable, but I really had a hard time following the story. I’m not sure how “being strong and independent” turned into being a callous witch, and treating everyone like garbage. She used her good looks as an excuse to treat people like crap and push everyone away. She commented how the mean girls in high school kept her outside their circle because they were jealous of her good looks, and that she had no friends, but frankly she acted like a mean girl acting she was better than everybody else because of her looks. She repeatedly treated CJ like garbage and pushed him away, and then had the nerve to actually say “he just proved me right “ when he didn’t fall at her feet and stick around to be treated that way. Yes, he responded poorly (although frankly not inappropriately due to his financial status) when she told him she was pregnant. They literally did not know each other, and he comes from an extremely wealthy family. Clearly the idea of someone pretending to be pregnant with his child especially when they used protection, would make him potentially suspicious. He quickly got past that, and spent the rest of the book groveling and trying to win her over. She just kept raking him over the coals over and over, and the ending was literally a sudden change and a kiss, and that’s it. No epilogue, no closure beyond her saying she was sorry and loved him. The baby, who is central to the whole story, wasn’t even born yet. The book dragged on and on, and the ending was just rushed over the final page.
I’m not sure why there was a whole random interludes with Gracie. She was just a side character, and randomly woven with her own POV story line throughout the book. Was she meant to be a page filler? I’m not even really sure, as her storyline had nothing to do with the main story and she didn’t even get a resolution either.
I jumped into this book without reading the others in the series. But I don’t think I’m going to bother with the others, as this one just fell so flat with me.

The ending was super abrupt and I'm sad we didn't get the rest of Gracies story but it was a fun little read

Great book. Where’s the ending?
Really liked this book. Well written, engaging and believable primary and secondary characters you get really invested in, and then BAM! The whole thing is wrapped up in like 2 pages with just a HFN instead of a HEA for CJ and Ivy. Not cool in a 300+ page book. Felt like author reached her desired page count to get paid and just quit. Would a 5-page HEA epilogue have been too much effort?
Not sure I’ll read more of the series if this is how they’ll all end.

The FMC’s whole personality is ‘poor me. I’m so attractive all the boys/men want me and all the girls/women are jealous of me. I’m such an independent, but lonely, outsider.’ She may be physically pretty but her character blows.

I’m not sure I can finish this. We switch from present to past tense and back again over and over. Change character point of views mid chapter and go off following random characters that do nothing to move the story along. The writer also doesn’t put words in sentences a lot. It’s like she enjoys dropping the first word in a sentence. Either that or she used the same word a lot and just edited them out without going back to see if it made sense. Getting dropped in the middle of a sentence repeatedly is not fun but the constant switch in tenses and character point of views is horrendous. It’s just really bad writing. I’m trying to get into the story but the writing is blocking it because it’s terrible.

This was my first in the series (free on Amazon) and this possibly explains the lower score. So I'm not as excited as the other readers: a dual storyline with Gracie without any purpose or added value, a constant and more and more irritating ‘no’ from h but then a quick HEA, and I didn't feel the connection between h and H. But that that varies from one reader to another is just fascinating and good.

I’m about to vent really hard.
This book is basically two couples one adult couple and one high school couple. I have no idea why they were both in this book when it was supposed to be about the adult couple Ivy and Clinton. Ivy and Clinton had a one night stand turned surprise pregnancy. Ivy is used to being on her own and being independent which I totally saw in the beginning of the story, but being totally honest, she became extremely unlikable around 60% of the book and onward. It is repeatedly said that she’s extremely good looking and uses that to her advantage especially with men but then at the same time she was working three jobs and barely making ends meet. It’s like she only used men for petty stuff and punished them because they thought she was beautiful and used as an excuse for her to be a bitch to them. Clinton kept trying to make the situation work and she kept being a bitch and then suddenly the last couple pages she apologized in the book abruptly ended. But they definitely show up in the next book (I will come back to this point and rant in a moment).
Now onto the the second couple. We’ve got hippie Gracie with neighbor Andrew who pretended to have feelings for Gracie so he could sleep with her and then dumped her. This was all a secret, nobody else knew about it. This also hurt Gracie because she felt that Andrew was embarrassed by her since she wasn’t popular. A year passes. Andrew’s best friend Luke starts to work at Gracie’s job and they slowly start to become friends. Luke finds out that his girlfriend of two years has been cheating on him for a while with… Andrew. So pretty much Andrew was a total douche bag.
Grace decides put all her cards on the table and admit that she does have feelings for Luke. Luke gets back with his cheating ex-girlfriend very briefly and then doesn’t seek out Gracie for another four months. As soon as Gracie starts seeing another guy, that’s when Luke decides he does want to in fact want Gracie. When he finds out that she slept with Andrew, he embarrasses her in front of everybody at the dance. But she forgives almost immediately…..then…..then….well that’s all I know.
You want to know why that’s all I know? I’ll tell you why- I had to read this book, the book after this one, and then the one after that to get this information. For some reason, Grace and Luke’s story spans three books as prominent side characters and has no actual ending. By the last book in the series I have no idea if they are together or not. Now I don’t know if they eventually get their own book, but this was the most ridiculous thing ever and I’m super pissed. We have no ending for Ivy or Clinton and have to read the next book to find out that I think she eventually moves to Houston so they can be together. Why wouldn’t that be in this book that was about them?
It seems like none of these books are stand alone and you have to read all of the books in order to have endings for couples because they keep popping up in other books.

This book was hard to find! I saw a post on TikTok and there was no author information attached! There were several other books with this name and I stupidly assumed it would be the first in the series but it ended up being book six! As author myself I got verbally attacked in the comments after asking a question which made me hesitant to even read the book, however I am a fan of other small authors regardless of the genre.
I’m a big fan of cowboys and true farm/ranch lifestyle books because it’s always interesting to see how they live life. Of course being a millionaire, wealthy MMC book is always a plus.
Clinton aka C.J. is your MMC and Ivy is the FMC. After a one night thing that turns into a weekend only relationship, a hard choice has to be made. Keep the baby, keep the relationship, keep your independence… ? So many things to choose from.
Ivy makes the mistake of letting him go and living her life and trying to provide for the child she will have in her own.
This is devastating to C.J because he truly loved Ivy. The mother of his unborn child. When tragic circumstances hit his family he is losing his mind with all the responsibilities and Ivy makes the decision to return to him.
A sweet scene later we get a HEA!
A couple of notes about the book without being spoilers. It is a shorter story, I might be a fast reader but it only took an hour to get through. The romance is there but it lacks spice, so the scenes are SFW. Still very romantic! At the end the story does feel unfinished because the child hasn’t been born yet, and other tragedies still need to be addressed but because it is apart of a series you don’t have to wait long to move on to the next book!
Beth is an amazing author who did great in this book but I was expecting to have some more detail in the romance department.

Entertaining story about a one night stand that results in an unexpected and unplanned pregnancy. He is an uber rich playboy CEO of his family's business who took over after his father's debilitating stroke and she is a beautiful waitress who works three jobs to pay off the debt from her estranged mother's funeral.
Because Ivy never knew her father after finding out she is pregnant Ivy chooses to tell CJ and flies from Pittsburgh to Texas to find out if he is interested in taking part in his child’s life. Needless to say he doesn't take the news of his pending fatherhood well. Upon reflection he decides to go back to Pittsburgh and get to know Ivy.
The writer has told the often told story about the accidental pregnancy and budding relationship with a lot of humor and witty conversations. The relationships between CJ and his mom, (younger than him) stepmother, brother, half-brothers, paralyzed father, and Ivy is interesting because of all the different dynamics. Ivy is friends with her teenaged co-worker and her boss. Together they look out for each other and Gracie (the 17 year old) is probably my favorite character. I wish the author had spent more time bringing her story to more of a completion.

Wow. What a good book
I'm glad I found this book advertised on FB. It is so good. It was reading two stories at once. One about a young girl,Gracie coming to terms growing up and learning about boys, feelings and sex. The second, about a beautiful grown woman, Ivy who knows nothing about love, only taking care of herself. I'm not going into Gracie's story even though you'll see her growing up to understand more about life. She's a smart young girl. Ivy didn't have a very good upbringing. Her mother was always trying to use her looks to hook a rich man ignoring Ivy. Unfortunately, she died in a car accident leaving Ivy completely alone. Ivy met CJ (Clinton) at his brothers engagement party. An event she was working. CJ was rich and Ivy worked three jobs to survive and save to attend culinary arts school. She was impressed with CJ and went to his room for just one night. A little over three months later, she goes to CJ to tell him he's going to be a Daddy. You can imagine how well things go from there. CJ is a really nice guy but Ivy doesn't trust anyone. Read how things go for all of them. I really enjoyed this book a lot and hope you will too. Definitely reading his brothers stories too. Written by Cindy :)

first book in the series that I have read because this is the one I saw a TikTok video that talked me into it
Ivy and CJ have a chance meeting and have a one night stand. It was memorable for both of them but Ivy slinks away in the middle of the night and CJ is left to think about her for the next couple of more than until she shows up one day to tell them they didn’t make a clear break from each other cause now she is pregnant.
I liked the push and pull from Ivy and CJ. What I didn’t like was how Ivy kept referring to how pretty she was. It wasn’t in a snobbish way but it definitely got old fast. CJ tried hard to be hard but really he was a big softy who just wanted someone to want him for him and not his money.
I wasn’t a fan of the secondary storyline of Gracie and Luke. The story itself was flew at but I don’t like the writing choice of having two storylines that don’t really correlate with the story as a whole. I gotta give it to Ivy, i do love me some good strong female character. But most importantly, I love a female character who recognizes when she made a mistake and acted unfairly towards someone, and Ivy did that beautifully.
Ivy meets multibijillionaire Clinton Jr. on an engagement party for his brother, and the two have that instant connection that leads directly to the bed, and then, Ivy is pregnant.
It’s a classic trope, but one that I eat it up any day of the week. The story was written REALLY well and it’s a lovely little story with just the right amount of drama to be an easy read.
One thing I would complain about though, is the fact that the book is written as a standalone, and really, it’s not. All conflicts besides Ivy and Clinton being together are not solved in this book, including the side story about Gracie, so you do need to read other books if you want answers. Of course, I want to read the next, but the trope isn’t really my thing: age gap relationship.

C.J tried so dang hard, I really freaking loved him. Sure, he was an ass in the beginning but you can’t really blame the man. He’s probably dealt with a lot of crap with people trying to get his money.
But the he got his ish together and really tried but dang, did Ivy make it so ridiculously hard. Even I was through with her at the end. She was just beyond just “stubborn”.

Didn’t even get to read about the birth, see how C.J is as a dad, how Ivy is as a mom - something that was obviously pretty darn important to both of them, and it wasn’t even included?
And then Gracie and Luke - while this is my first book to read in this series, this side plot was just kinda random? And then not to even get a decent ending for them? For Gracie? My poor girl deserved better.
It’s a solid 3, because I really liked the story and interactions.
But the he got his ish together and really tried but dang, did Ivy make it so ridiculously hard. Even I was through with her at the end. She was just beyond just “stubborn”.

Where's the ending ????
Saw this book as an add-on social media and thought the premise sounded fun to read. As I started the book the relationship between Ivy and C.J. was fun to read. When the Gracie story line came in I initially found it to be distracting but got use to the back and forth between story lines. I found myself invested in both Ivy and Gracie and was at a 3.5 - 4 star read. Then I got the non ending end which left me with a WHAT !!!!!! feeling. I thought this couldn't possibly be ending because the stories hadn't finished. Unfortunately I will probably not continue with the series because I feel all the books will have these non endings. Also looking Back Gracie should have had her own book or novella to tell her story as opposed to being a prominent secondary story in Ivy's book.

2 stars for CJ, and the writing is decent. Other than that, Ivy made me absolutely miserable. How CJ put up with her manipulative games is beyond me. And that's what Ivy is, manipulative as shit. At first, I liked her no-nonsense way of thinking and that she was honest. As the story went on, she became extremely manipulative. Oh, I want to do things on my own. No, you gave me what I wanted. Now I want this. Oh, you hurt me, so now I get to throw it in your face, CJ. Just no. That's disgusting behavior. I admired CJ for stepping up and owning his mistakes and wanting to be there for Ivy and the baby. Her attitude? It was shit. Also, the storyline with Gracie felt odd. It took away a lot of time from CJ and Ivy. About half the book was Gracie and Luke. Maybe if that storyline wasn't in the book, there would have been room for Ivy to grow more.

About That Night by Beth Andrews was the first romance novel I have read by this author. I really wanted to love this story but I just felt lukewarm about it. Loved the H, Clinton and all the supporting characters in the story. My problem was with Ivy, the heroine. Just did not like her. Here is a 27 year old woman, who thinks she is all that, has a one night stand with this rich and powerful guy she meets , and is surprised when she is pregnant that he wants a paternity suit. Yeh, rich and powerful people are not used to fraudulent claims to extort money from them. Then through 95% of the book this woman treats the hero and his emotions like a yo yo. Just did not like Ivy at all. I also found the heat level of this romance just so so. I found this read disappointing.

I actually liked Ivy a lot. I like a character that's hard to pin down and I liked how easily she read Clinton. The side plot with Gracie was great, but just ended really abruptly and weirdly. The end just sort of fizzled out. I dunno, the drama between Ivy and Clinton got annoying at the end and then it was all suddenly sort of solved. The writing was good, most of the banter was funny (but I guess I don't get the constant defending of his dad from Clinton when he sounds like he was a jerk to most of his wives. Who cares if the stepmom wants to cheat on him back?) Would have been better if it wasn't for the sudden ending.

DNF at 20%
I gave up at 20%, but I did try to fight through. This story had so much potential but it was slow AF, and I was exasperated by Ivy and her attitude toward everything. She was a self admitted cynic but very immature for 26 and also manipulative and selfish. She has herself and her beauty on a pedestal and judges everyone so harshly. I knew pretty quick I wasn’t going to be able to root for her and once I saw the steam level in this book was PG I was out. Three stars because storyline was there, but it just wasn’t for me, and maybe others can find it enjoyable. Probably too generous a rating but for 2.5 I round up.

I wanted to like this more. Gracie’s story made no sense as she was a side character and it felt weird having a teenagers POV thrown into an adults story when they’re not really interconnected at all.
Just when the characters became bearable the story ended. I’m sorry but if you’re writing an accidental pregnancy book I at least expect the birth by the end. The story felt extremely unfinished and there is not epilogue or book two.
There is a major event that happens at the end of the story with unanswered endings as well. Which I’m assuming this character get his own book but as I said the Main story doesn’t feel finished.

To start, I really liked the beginning, the chemistry the flirting etc, and C.J. and his family were so funny, but it went downhill from there. How many times can the FMC let him in and then push him away over and over again? Too many damn times that it became boring. The ending was also ridiculous just ending the book in the middle of a sentence, with nothing actually being resolved. I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn't. Also, I couldn't understand why Grace's POV or story was even included when it had nothing to do with the main couple and was left completely unresolved. She just seemed like a random insert character and I was struggling to not just skip her chapters.

I really did like this story but THE ENDINGS ?!?!?!? It was so bs. Like Ivy and CJ were just magically fixed and happily ever after in one conversation. What abt the baby ? Where are they gonna live ? Will they go kind of back and forth ? What’s the baby’s name gonna be ? Will CJ and Kane fix their broken bond ?

I really really liked Gracie but she deserved soooo sooo much more. Good book
I found this book on an ad in FB and it sounded like I would enjoy it so I gave it a go. I really liked the characters in this book and it has a sort of mini spin-offs of some of the supporting characters. I did love Ivy’s strength and stubbornness as well as Clinton’s mistrust in people. I really did enjoy this book and I want to read another one of Ivy and Clinton because I just can’t get enough of them.

Two stories at the same time
As much as i wanted to love it, the book didn't click for me. There is the principle couple story line and the side characters storyline and three perspectives are given. In the first chapter it was confusing to know when it changed between Ivy and Gracie but the shift became clearer. Although I would have preferred if the focus was on one of the couples.

3 stars feels generous, but I can’t go to a 2. 2.5 would probably be an accurate representation of my thoughts and feelings.
I know some authors don’t believe in epilogues, and I can respect that. It is your god given right to end your book however you would like. However, I would not recommend cutting off your story with almost no closure for the characters.
I did move onto the next book in the series, but to be honest it was for the side characters.

FMC is an annoying underdeveloped pick me. The MMC was decent, there was some character development which was nice to follow. Can’t say the same for Ivy. I don’t understand why we had a whole side story with Gracie only for Luke to end up being exactly like Andrew. First and last book I read in this series lol. Very unfortunate that this book was the one that got some attention, unless they are all bad…
