Sing Sweet Nightingale

Rate this book
Lottie Pickle is known to the world as Alexandria, the famous glittering pop star. But the limelight is starting to burn and the things that once appealed to her as a young aspiring singer no longer shine with the brilliance of newly formed diamonds. Not to mention her overbearing momager who works her to the bone to make hit after hit. In the only way she knows how to escape life in her gilded prison she dawns a disguise and runs away. All the way to the small, quiet, unknown town of Snowberry, Montana.
Here she hopes to blend in and enjoy her small piece of sanctuary in her quaint log cabin. Sanctuary that’s interrupted by the town’s mayor and—unbeknownst to her—owner of the cabin she’s renting. But there’s more to the tall dark and handsome Hunter Evans than just being town mayor, he’s also a wolf shifter. And that’s not all, she’s supposedly his mate.
What more could a girl have to deal with while hiding from the paparazzi, a controlling mother, and millions of fans? Nothing much, just a blackmailing mob boss elf who wants the town of Snowberry for himself.
Caught between the unspoken rules of the non-human world and his need to protect his newly found mate, Hunter must decide; break the rules and keep the girl, or follow the rules and possibly lose his mate and the well-hidden haven they’ve built for non-humans?

Oh my sweetness, my heart so full and my face hurts from smiling over how much I enjoyed this fantasy romance by Rebecca. Cancel plans and work and order take out, because once you dive in you’ll be like me and not want to leave Snowberry. This talented author won my heart with this enchanting story for sure.

Lottie is a young(ish) pop star who is done having her life dictated by her mother and with the help of her faithful bodyguard, Luna, escapes to the small town called Snowberry. What she didn’t expect was to fall in love with someone that is more than human. I instantly fell in love with this heroine, she is just as sweet as she is feisty. I adore how she stands her ground while finding her own way and isn’t really fearful of showing vulnerability.

Hunter is a wolf shifter and the mayor of Snowberry. His stoic mannerisms are put to the test when Lottie shows up. I adore watching his walls come down around her, but still keeps his head in place while protecting his town.

I cannot speak highly enough about how this talented queen wrote a fantasy romance that has full grown adults where their maturity matches their ages, without getting super heavy. It’s so refreshing to get lost in the little town of Snowberry with all the characters I couldn’t stop myself from loving. I loved everything about it, from the captivating characters to the town I wish existed and the way problems were worked out by talking it out. I can’t wait to read what Rebecca comes up with next for this sleepy little town.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Sing Sweet Nightingale. Rebecca really knows how to write a sweet romance with just enough spice, but now she out did herself adding that fantasy touch. I loved the idea of a small hidden town of fantasy and a sort of meet-cute with Lottie, a big-time pop star looking to leave the world of fame behind and Hunter the alpha loner. Everything just came together perfectly for them in a way that just made my heart sing. The detail that Rebecca gives every character is beautiful, leaving this hopeful reader ready for a spin-off and the urge to open my own Ugly Mug.

ARC REVIEW
Rating 5*
Spice 🌶 🌶 🌶

Yes Yes Yes!!

This was my first ARC I read and I am extremely grateful to Rebecca for allowing me to dive into her new world of Snowberry! Having read her Gummy Bear Orgy Series and devouring them, I had to dive in straight away.

I love how Lottie's character progressed through the story. A girl who just wants to be herself and live her own dream without the restraints of those around her. She really came into her own and this was largely brought on by her new found family in Snowberry.

Hunter...well this blue eyed creature was just divine. The way he was able to portray his two sides to Lottie had me all giddy. Who doesn't want a wolf/man whose sole purpose is to protect and love you.

All other characters within Snowberry are well thought out and each play their own part in developing the story and connection between the two main characters. From a sneaky elf, Vincent, Ginger, Ryder, and Luna just made the story that much better.

Highly recommend!

I need and want more!!
Looking forward to more in this series and just Rebecca Rennick in general.

This was such a cute fun read! Perfect for fall and spooky season!

Lottie is fed up with the current life she’s living as a pop star under the controlling thumb of her tyrannical mother. After expressing this to her bodyguard Luna who has been a faithful confidant to Lottie, Luna tells her about a small quite small town called Snowberry. Lottie and Luna devise a plan for Lottie’s escape for a temporary reprieve.

Hunter is the town mayor of Snowberry, who also happens to be an alpha shifter. He lives a meticulous lifestyle in his town of both non-humans and humans. He loves his quiet little town and the off the grid aspect makes the perfect cover for their kind. Until a drug lord elf tries to ruin it all for him.

When Lottie gets to town little does she and Hunter know how drastically both of their lives will change. His sweet singing Nightingale turns out to be so much more!

I absolutely adored the magical elements and non-human creatures (as they call themselves) that were in this book. I think we call all truly resonate with Lottie and how she’s feeling at some point in our lives. The found family, the spice was just enough with an amazing plot, there is also knotting, who knew shifters could change size if you know what I mean. The town residents were so fun, I truly loved every character in this book! There is a family dinner scene that will leave you absolutely bursting with laughter! This is a hea that will leave your heart full and have you wishing for more!

Thank you so much to Rebecca Rennick for allowing me to read this pre-release in exchange for my honest review.

this was such a cute story, the angst that Lottie
feels being trapped in her life and then to find peace
and a mate as well! That’s just insane. Hunter is
the perfect mate and honestly has me wishing that
my husband were a shifter as well. Knotting gets me
every single time. I just love good spicy books and
Rebecca has a way with words when it comes to
spicy scenes! I loved it! Can’t wait for book 2.

I don’t even know where to begin… I picked this up wanting a palette cleaner and I was so sorely disappointed. The structure was good but the execution was not.

There were three major conflicts in this book: revealing Lottie’s secret identity, Hunter being a shifter, and the fight with the elf gang. All of these climax points were just…fine!!??? There is NO DRAMA! Lottie is just okay that Hunter is a shifter??? Hunter doesn’t care about Lottie’s secret identity??? Lottie uses her magic siren powers to settle the fight?? I am convinced that there was no climax in this entire book.

There were no real stakes in this book. Someone needed to die, Lottie needed to get kidnapped. Literally anything- I am begging.

It was also so hyped up that Hunter is Alpha, but what was he Alpha of? You meet like four other Shifters in the whole story!

The only reason I rated this two stars was because the town was cute, Sinatra scenes, and Lottie’s relationship with the Evan’s family.

That’s all. I needed to get this off my chest.

I haven’t read many shifter romances but I’m so glad that I received an arc of this one!🐺
This paranormal rom-com was the perfect palette cleanser after finishing an intense fantasy book, and I really enjoyed every second of it.💗

I absolutely adore the town of Snowberry and all the people who live in it. The shops are so cosy and unique, and now I wish I could travel there just for the coffee and food.☕️

Lottie is an amazing FMC who grows so much throughout this book. I would definitely be best friends with her and Ginger if they existed.💗
Hunter is 🔥! This man is just everything and I love how protective and understanding he is with Lottie.🥹
Even though his brother, Ryder, doesn’t have a book yet, he already has my heart and I can’t WAIT for his story!🤭

Lottie and Hunter’s story was so perfect and the ending was so sweet! I definitely recommend this book if you enjoy shifter romances, a sunshine FMC, and her protective MMC mate.🐺
Releasing on the 10th of September, so be sure to keep an eye out for it.💗

I think Lotties acceptance of the paranormal or "non-human" world was too quick. She wasn't shocked or seemed at all surprised. Maybe if that was in the storyline or maybe if she heard "stories" about them from her grandmother and brush it off as a fairytale, it would have been received better by the reader.

Also, the conflict with her mother seemed to be a big part of the story and there was quite a bit of build up, but there was no confrontation with her on page. With Lottie's character development and finding her "voice", I think it would have been a great way to show her standing up to her bully at the end. We are sort of left hanging on that plot line and Lottie just explains what happens with her mother but we don't get to actually "see" it.

I loved this book. I would have devoured it in one sitting if I wasn’t a mom of 7 and a 9-5 girly !

Such a sweet and fun love story.
It’s a story we haven’t seen played out over and over!
The banter between them was cute & I want to visit Snowberry some day.
The imagery this book created for me was beautiful & it was hard not to fall in love with Hunter, Lottie, & Ginger of course. 10/10 I do recommend

Cozy love story vibes with some spice 🌶️

Yea. I couldn't put this book down. A very rare all in one sitting read. From Lotties initial predicament and solution to meeting the town, I wanted to know where this would all end up and I was immensely rewarded.

So glad to see there's already a book 2 listed because idc who it's about, I'll want to read it.

Thanks again for sending me this eARC (my first!) because it further pulled me out of a reading slump!

After finishing this book, I thought "Wow, this has been one of my favorite reads of 2024".

To say I was blown away by this story and the writing of Rebecca Rennick would be an understatement. The character development, setting, and overall story exceeded all expectations. This was the first book by Rebecca Rennick that I had the pleasure of reading, and I promise you it will not be the last.

I was committed to this story from the beginning to the end. I could not put it down and I looked forward to reading it every day. This book combined a few things that I love: Paranormal Fantasy, Romantic Comedy, and Small-Town Romance.

I adored the uniquely quirky characters and the small picturesque town of Snowberry. Rebecca spared no expense in thoroughly painting a picture. Discovering and exploring Snowberry through Lottie's eyes was a visceral experience. I can't wait for the next Snowberry Story, but in the meantime, I highly recommend this book to you!

Five stars and a standing ovation for Sing Sweet Nightingale.

Thank you Rebecca for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book.

Sing Sweet Nightingale is a delightful fantasy romance that offers a refreshing take on the genre. The characters, Hunter and Lottie, are incredibly well-developed and their chemistry is undeniable. Hunter's strength and determination complement Lottie's kindness and resilience, creating a dynamic and engaging relationship.

The world-building in this novel is exceptional. Rennick has crafted a unique and captivating setting filled with mythical creatures that are both fascinating and believable. The author's vivid descriptions bring the world to life, immersing readers in its magic and wonder. Everyone writes about the same fantasy creatures these days, this story threw in some old classics with interesting magic involved.

The plot is well-paced and full of twists and turns that keep the reader engaged. The romance between Hunter and Lottie is a highlight of the story, blossoming naturally and organically. Their journey together is filled with both challenges and triumphs, making their love story all the more satisfying.

I enjoyed the smut, I almost wish there was more. I wish there was more to the story in general! I appreciated the epilogue, but I wish I could read about Lottie and Hunter forever!

Overall, Sing Sweet Nightingale is a fantastic read that I highly recommend. It's a perfect blend of adventure, romance, and fantasy, offering a truly unforgettable experience. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Hunter and Lottie in the next installment of this series. I’m eager to know who the next book will be about!

I’m low key obsessed with Song Sweet Nightingale!!! We follow Lottie and Hunter. Lottie is a pop star who has no control in her life thanks to her manager who is also her mother. So when her contract ends she dawns a disguise and runs away to the small town of Snowberry, Montana, where Hunter is the mayor and the owner of the cabin she’s renting. Turns out he’s a wolf shifter and supposedly her mate. And there’s a mob boss elf who wants the town for himself.
I loved this book so much! Firstly this Snowberry town is amazing. There’s faeries, shifters, and other paranormal creatures plus all that gossip and meddling you love in a small town. Secondly the characters, I love all of them but especially Lottie and Hunter!
The chemistry between Hunter and Lottie is undeniable! I love how they feel a pull towards each other and neither of them try to deny it. Lottie has finally found her freedom so she’s fierce in her wanting a say in her life and I adore Hunter for loving that about her. Hunter is the mayor and alpha so he’s super protective. He’s also sweet and I totally love how he hung out with Lottie as a wolf and posed for pictures for her. I also love how Lottie just goes with befriending a wolf and when she learns about non-human she’s more curious than anything.
I had so much fun reading this book and definitely recommend it!! This is an amazing small town paranormal romance and I can’t wait for the next book!!

📚The Blurb:

Sing Sweet Nightingale (Snowberry Novels Book 1) https://amzn.eu/d/4mXSXxo

✨The Review:

Sing Sweet Nightingale is the first book in Rebecca Rennick's new Snowberry Novels series. This meet cute with a supernatural twist just hits that cozy romance spot.

Sweet yet protective MMC? Check✔️ Innocent yet fiery FMC? Check✔️ Cute small town vibes where everyone is friendly as heck? Check✔️ Honestly this checks off so many things that you would want in a cozy small town romance. The storyline was intriguing and kept me hooked from page one.

The characters were just *chefs kiss* 😘 I loved Lottie and Hunter both as individuals and together! Lottie was so bright and sunny with such a love for the simple things. And Hunter the grumpy protective guy who has such a sweet side. Another book boyfriend to add to the list!! Also loved the side characters and really cannot wait for more stories from this town! Also that ending was just perfect 😍

I was so lucky to receive the ARC for this as Rebecca is one of my favourite authors and I will literally read anything she writes! So if you haven't already go pre-order this and go read her other stuff, I recommend the Gummy Bear Orgy series 😏

Thank you so much to Rebecca Rennick for an eARC copy of Swing Sweet Nightingale! Here is my honest review!

I reallllly liked this one! This is book one in Rebecca’s newest series, which is a definite departure from her previous series!

I enjoyed the different non-human species and the town of Snowberry. I love fated mates so that was 🤌🏼 for me. I absolutely loved Hunter’s family. They’re so supportive and you can tell they really love each other. The dinner & photo scene had be giggling out loud.

Lottie was a good character and I love that she found her happiness. She deserved it all and I’m thankful that her overall character wasn’t influenced by her mother.

Some things I didn’t like.
I don’t necessarily love the famous pop star trope but it did well here. But that’s just a personal opinion thing for me.
There were multiple points where I felt like the book was coming to a close and it was going to end on a cliff hanger, but I’m glad it didn’t haha!
I couple parts were pretty predictable but I didn’t find that it took much away from the overall story.

Overall thoughts:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
🌶️🌶️🌶️

‘Before I see her, I hear her. The gentle strumming of a guitar and her sweet, melodic voice carry through the forest. Her voice is perfection. It floats through the air and slivers into my bloodstream.’

‘Show me your beast, Hunter.’

Tropes: Shifter, Knotting, Werewolves, Daul POV, Small Town Romance, He Falls First, Scenting, Protective MMC, Mates, Nickname, Found Family

Lottie wants to escape her world famous pop-star life. So where else better than a quiet town that doesn’t appear on any maps..
Paranormals glamoured to look human, threats to her life & a beautiful black furred wolf who Lottie becomes very familiar with..

Ok, this book was super cute! Had me giggling & kicking my feet throughout! With an ‘easy to read’ writing style, this book was a delight. I also loved the banter in this one & how to characters interacted. I want more from Snowberry!!!

The initial meet cute was 🤭🤭

I really liked the paranormal/ shifter lore that was used here. I think it was explored well, not leaving any plot holes or things that were left unaddressed.

I can’t wait to check out more of Rebecca’s work, because I really enjoyed her writing here.

“You want my heart? You can keep it; it already belongs to you,” - Hunter

Firstly I have to say thank you Rebecca for the opportunity to read this ARC.🫂💗

This was such a fun read with a cute slow burn. I was able to feel the angst, the blush, the giddiness while reading. I feel like he definitely fell first and it was so cute to see it happen with the dual POVs. The FMC & MMC are perfectly matched. The side characters are just as lovable and cheering on our mains. Let’s not forget the spice had me blushing red!!! This is Rebecca’s first paranormal rom-com and I think she smashed it. Excited for everyone to enjoy the small town of Snowberry!!

ohhhhhh, this book is sooo gooddd! 🫶🏻

runaway pop star anddd stoic wolf shifter mayor? Ummm yes, please. lottie’s sweet yet fiery personality is the perfect match for hunter’s protective, broody vibes. 🐺✨ their chemistry had me swooning.

add in a quirky small town, a bodyguard bestie, and a mob boss elf (yes, you read that right), and you’ve got a fantasy romance that’s equal parts heartwarming and hilarious.

snowberry is the kind of place you never want to leave, and lottie’s journey of reclaiming her life is just chef’s kiss. i need more of this cozy, magical world asap. 🏡💖

I absolutely adore anything I have read by Rebecca Rennick. This paranormal romance has everything you would need to have a good time.

Lottie and Hunter are easily likable. I love the growth that Lottie has and her inner monologue to stand up for herself. It is easier to just go with the flow and not cause a commotion. She was a great FMC.

I absolutely adored Ginger (I want to know why she doesn’t like a certain mechanic…next book maybe??) also, grumpy Ryder is mysterious enough for a book of his own (please).

I like the town of Snowberry and would love to know more about each non-human residents.

I am so thankful to have been chosen as an ARC reader.

I loved this book so much 🥹

I am a sucker for a found family and a fated mate. This was everything I expect from a Rebecca Rennick book. Spicy, sweet, no third act breakups, lots of good feelings. It made me laugh and it made me smile. I enjoyed Snowberry and I want to go back there for Ryders story and PLEASE, Ginger’s story.

Lottie grew up in the Spotlight as a young singer/musician with her mother controlling her label, her contract…and basically her life. With no choices of her own, as soon as her contract expires and her tour ends, she flees and goes into hiding…to a small town called Snowberry. A town that is also in hiding…because they are not humans.
🐺
This was a fun, smutty, paranormal/shifter, small town romance.

I loved the little town and its non-human residents. And, of course, it’s hot mayor.
🐺
I don’t know if that’s the inspiration or the story, but it sort of gives me a Britney Spears vibe with the parent controlling her every move and contract.
🐺
Anyway, it was a lot of fun. Also there is 🪢.
