Her heart stutters as she draws closer. A woman’s fingertips curl over the boat’s edge. Dark crimson blood clashes with the faded blue peeling paint beneath. They’re too late, the beautiful woman within has been dead for some time…
Detective Josie Quinn lifts the baby from the pram, holding her close and gently soothing her. Josie scours the scene for the sweet little girl’s mother, but the park is deserted. Glancing down, something catches her eye. Nestled amongst the child’s soft pink blankets is a polaroid photo, the corner smudged with blood.
The search for Cleo Tate has Josie and her team in a chokehold; the abandoned newborn needs her mother, and every second counts now lab results show the blood belongs to her. The blurred photo of a body of water is Josie’s only lead. But what does it mean? And where was it taken? The answer is just within reach, but with Cleo’s husband lying about his movements that day, Josie can’t see it. Then it finally Cold Heart Creek, a crime scene from Josie’s past that she will never forget. Josie is terrified by what she finds Cleo’s body, cold as ice, with a second photo of a new location.
A twisted killer is playing a devilish game. And when Josie finds a second innocent victim at the site of a different case she solved, she begins to suspect that she herself is at the very heart of it. But why? As more bodies and more photos follow, Josie must dig deep into the secrets and mistakes of her past to get one step ahead.
The link between these women is key to cracking the case. Someone wants revenge, and won’t stop until their story is told, and no one involved is left breathing. Can Josie stop them before any more precious lives are taken? And just what will it cost her?
Buckle-up for a totally twisted serial-killer thriller that will keep you flipping pages until dawn. This unputdownable crime thriller from an Amazon, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author is perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Rachel Caine.

*CRACK* That is the sound of Lisa Regan hitting it out of the ball park yet again! Be sure to Remember Her Name, it's Lisa Regan and she writes riveting, intense, addictive, pulse pounding, page turners!!!!!!! I loved being back with Josie and the gang in Denton, PA! It is always a pleasure to read another thrilling book in the Josie Quinn series. This book was an awesome addition to one of my favorite book series.
A baby has been found in a stroller in a park, while her mother is nowhere to be found. What is found is a polaroid picture of a body of water which was left in the infant's stroller. Josie is determined to figure out what and where the body of water is in the polaroid. Then she remembers, the water in the polaroid is Cold Heart Creek, the scene of one of Josie's first crime scenes. When another polaroid and victim is found, it is a race against time to bring a killer to justice! They say pictures tell a story, what story is the killer trying to tell??????? Josie and team will do whatever it takes to figure that out.
Woohoo!!!! This book was fabulous. I love the gripping mystery in this book. I also enjoyed the cleverly crafted and well thought out plot. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and turning the pages, while enjoying the brilliant mix of Josie's private life and her detective work. It is always great to see Josie's family and they play a nice part in this book. I also had my fingers crossed for Noah and Josie as they continue to make plans for their future.
But wait, then there is Turner! He used to drive me (Josie & Gretchen) crazy with this "sweethearts" and annoying statements and comments. But, dare I say it, I am warming up to him and enjoyed seeing Josie begin to see him in a new light. But I have to say, there was a part in this book where he said "sweetheart" and I laughed with glee.
As with the other books in this series, Remember Her Name has a nice amount of twists, turns, dread, danger, tension, and pulse pounding moments! I devoured this book and loved every second of it. I am so happy that Lisa Regan is a fast writer as I can't wait to read what happens next!
Wonderfully written, addictive, thrilling, and hard to put down!!
*A witches words buddy read with DeAnn and Carolyn. Please read their reviews as well to get their thoughts on the Remember Her Name!
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
This 21st instalment in Lisa Regan’s Josie Quinn series is one fans won’t want to miss. It’s gritty, dark and very intense.
It all starts with a baby abandoned in a park, her mother abducted with a blurry polaroid photo left in the stroller eventually leading Josie to her body and another polaroid related to a past crime scene. Further bodies and polaroid photos linking to old crime scenes will take Josie back to a heinous crime committed during her early days as a rookie.
This is an excellent addition to the series. It’s quite a complex and fast paced mystery with a lot going on as Josie and her team race from one crime scene to the next, all the time puzzling about how the victims and the location of their bodies are being chosen.
As always, there is also some time for character development, with Josie and Noah now preparing a video for the adoption agency, a sweet engagement and some fun at the expense of their newest recruit, Kyle Turner who has been put on notice to be on his best behaviour by Noah. Hopefully we’ll find out his back story in the next episode (as well as why he is forever scrolling on his phone). Altogether it makes for a gripping read with plenty of tension, some great twists and not one but two suspenseful climactic scenes.
Thanks to Witches Words DeAnn and Debra for the buddy read!
Thanks to Bookouture via Netgalley for a copy to read
Detective Josie Quinn had always remembered the big case when she was a rooky, fifteen years prior. But the horrific details had faded, until she had cause to remember them again.
The baby was crying in the pram, her mother nowhere to be seen. But the blurry polaroid photo beneath the baby, tinged in blood, gave Josie and her team cause to believe it would lead to the baby's mother. And so it did. With another polaroid with that victim, Josie, Noah, Gretchen and Turner knew without doubt they had a serial killer on their hands. As the team desperately followed the photos, taking too long to discover each location, they worked hard to find what it all related to. It seemed the killer was playing a game with Josie, and she felt she was always one step behind. Would she discover the killer and the motive before more people died? And was she on the deadly list only a madman could follow?
Remember Her Name is #21 in the Detective Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan and it's an outstanding ride, filled with tension, chilling details and heartfelt moments. I loved this episode, and feel it's one of Lisa Regan's very best. Bring on #22! Highly recommended.
With thanks to NetGalley & Bookouture for my digital ARC to read and review.
A baby sleeping in a stroller is found in the city park. Her young mother, Cleo Tate, is nowhere to be found. Detective Josie Quinn and her team find a polaroid picture under the baby's blanket. It shows a body of water. Josie doesn't know why the kidnapper left a clue, but she does know time is not on their side. When Josie realizes the photo is a picture of Cold Heart Creek, they race there only to find Cleo's body. Underneath her is another polaroid. Where will this picture lead them?
This story started off strong. What happened to Cleo Tate? Who took her? Cleo's husband seems to be hiding something. Did he have her killed? Bodies start piling up and Josie realizes that the clues on the polaroids all lead back to her old cases.
I enjoyed the story, but I thought it got bogged down near the middle of the story. My favorite part of the story was the team's interactions with their newest member, Kyle Turner. I didn't like him in the last book, but he is starting to grow on me now. My rating: 4 Stars.
This was phenomenal! A rare kind of read where I really didn't want to keep reading but because I never wanted it to end but also couldn't put it down.
See the book description for more details - in a nutshell, a woman is abducted and her baby left alone in a park. The race is on to find the mum but clues prop up to suggest it may be a serial perp.
Really original. I like how Regan ties in past books or cases where possible. She is also further introducing us to the new member of the team and I kind of like him tbh, probably sooner than expected 😂.
I'm sure you're already well aware if you've been here a while that I highly recommend the Josie Quinn series to all PP lovers and esp this one.
A baby is found abandoned in a park. Left behind are blood stains from her mother and a polaroid picture. The baby’s father’s alibi doesn’t hold up. Following a clue from the polaroid, Josie discovers another body, also with a picture left behind. As more bodies and photos are found, she realizes that the locations are related to cases from her past. Can she put the pieces together in time to stop more deaths?
This is the 21st installment in one of my favorite series. Although it can be read as a standalone, fans of Detective Josie Quinn will enjoy the references to some of her earlier cases. Do yourself a favor and read some of the prior titles.
This is yet another exciting, page turning read. Regan always grabs my attention and won’t let go. Gripping is a word often overused to describe stories; this one truly was.
I enjoy Josie. Despite all the travails she has met with in her life, she remains a strong, intelligent, though vulnerable, character. I also like almost all of the repeating characters who surround her both in her personal and professional life. Those of you who are familiar with this series know that a new character was introduced two books back to replace a beloved member of Josie’s team who died in the line of duty. Nicknamed Douchbag by her, I was glad to see that he is finally starting to show some sparks of humanity.
If you like well written police procedurals/thrillers, and are not familiar with Lisa Regan, I recommend her. I can’t wait for the next one!
5 stars. Remember Her Name opens with Detective Josie Quinn’s very first gruesome murder scene and THAT sets the groundwork for what to expect in this 21st book in the series. As bodies begin to pile up and the detectives struggle to get ahead of the serial killer.. the serialist leaves photos behind prompting them to the next body. A game of cat and mouse ensues as Josie tries to figure out what the small, blurry Polaroid pictures mean.. all clues related to the locations of Josie’s past cases. Exciting. Gripping. Intriguing. Page turning! I’ve never not enjoyed one book in this series! Read this if you like well written police procedurals/thrillers. Can be read as a standalone. Pub. 9/12/24
Remember Her Name is the twenty-first book in the Detective Josie Quinn series by best-selling American author, Lisa Regan. It starts with four-month-old Gracie Tate, found unattended in her baby carriage in a Denton park. A polaroid photo in the pram immediately sparks fears for her mom, Cleo’s safety, but where is she? Somewhere near a river, if the photo is a clue.
When Josie finally dredges up the distant memory of a case, she and her ever-obnoxious colleague, Kyle Turner find the multiply-stabbed body of the young mother in a half-sunken boat, at the site of that past case. And under the body, another polaroid: another cryptic clue? And when they work out the where, what, or whom, will they find?
It takes the team many long hours, and at least one other victim, before they make the necessary associations to understand for whom they are searching and, perhaps, why.
As the killer’s game includes sending Josie to the sites of her previous cases, readers should be aware that there are many spoilers for earlier books. There are twists, turns and red herrings before the final nail-biting climax. Another riveting Lisa Regan crime read. This unbiased review is from an uncorrected proof copy provided by NetGalley and Bookouture
Josie and gang are back in book 21, which is insane. This time in Denton, when a woman is found stabbed to death, a Polaroid is found with the body. Within hours another woman is found stabbed and another Polaroid is found. Josie soon realizes that these pictures tell a story, but what is that exactly? It’s always a race against time to figure out why these particular people are killed and what the motive behind them are for. I liked that in this particular book we get to see more of the new detective, Kyle Turner. He’s still an enigma & the team still don’t like him. Maybe they tolerate him a little bit better in this book though. I definitely liked seeing more of him & hoping to getting to know him better in the next story. Another fast paced story that gets you hooked from page one. The ending was a little surprising, which is always a good thing.
Honestly, I had some trouble keeping all the characters straight, but the nonstop action had me hooked from the first page to the last (which I stayed up late to finish, I hasten to add). After reading many of the books in this series - this is the 21st - I'm at least very familiar with rural Denton, Pennsylvania Detective Josie Quinn (and more recently, her husband and co-worker, Lt. Noah Fraley, her twin sister Trinity Payne and co-worker pal Detective Gretchen Palmer).
Just off a disturbing case, Josie is reluctant to throw herself back into the investigative fray. But there's no choice; she's called to a puzzling scene with an infant girl wailing in a stroller and no parent or caretaker in sight. There is, notably, a Polaroid shot of an unknown body of water - a photo with blood on the corner. Shortly, the baby's father comes to collect her - with no clear alibi, he becomes a suspect.
The case remains puzzling, but that provides time for readers to get to know the newest team member - a rather reprehensible dude named Kyle Turner, who's replacing an officer killed in that disturbing case mentioned earlier. No one seems to like him much (count me among those astute characters). But then, something about the photo triggers Josie's memory, and she heads to a place familiar to her from another investigation with fingers crossed every mile of the way. Alas, she's too late; she finds the baby's mother dead, another Polaroid of an unidentified scene and confirmation that a serial killer is running rampant.
But why? And who? And most important, can Josie and her team find all that out before the killer strikes again? Sorry, but I won't tell; you'll just have to read the book for yourself. It's a good one - and I'm ready for the next. Many thanks to the publisher, via NetGalley, for once again allowing me to read and review a pre-release copy.
There is a killer at large and a game is afoot. Small clues are left at one crime scene after another. Why is the killer leaving clues, with a very distinct signature, and will Josie and her team be able to stop him without even more bodies being found?
While being heartbroken at the loss of each victim, Josie struggles to get along with her new partner. He is called Turner and is unrepentantly irreverent. Then, Josie and her husband Noah, the lieutenant on her team, have been approved for adoption and are eager to be contacted so that they can begin to grow their family. Definitely a lot going on for Josie.
Meanwhile, the deeper the team gets into the investigation, Josie cannot help of thinking where she got her start with the police, a job she almost gave up on. One of her first crime scenes keeps coming to mind. It was an utterly gruesome site, something Josie will never forget. However, she made a promise to herself and refused to give up, no matter how difficult things would be, case by case. It is fifteen years later, and Josie has excelled at her job.
As incredibly intense as this 21st book is - yes, 21st book! - in the ever successful Josie Quinn series, there are moments of levity, such as the swear jars that the team use to keep the language in the squad room clean. This helped me as I was reading this book, because more than once I had a huge lump in my throat while reading. The tension, accompanied by heart-stopping scenes, never once lets up.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
Another great instalment, delving deep into Josie's past cases and showing much character development. Especially Turner gets better and Mettner is mentioned only in passing.
If you like the Josie Quinn series, you won't be disappointed.
Lisa Regan’s “Remember Her Name” brings back the gritty, compelling feel of the earlier Josie Quinn novels, and as book 21 in the series, it does not disappoint.
Detective Josie Quinn is thrust into a chilling case when a baby is found abandoned in a park, a blood-smeared polaroid photo tucked among her blankets. The child’s mother, Cleo Tate, is missing, and the only clue leads Josie back to Cold Heart Creek—a crime scene she thought was long behind her. When Cleo’s body is discovered there, the case takes a dark turn, with more victims and photos linked to Josie’s past cases emerging. As Josie races against time to stop a twisted killer seeking revenge, she must confront the buried secrets of her past before more lives are lost.
Fans of Josie will appreciate the callbacks to her earlier cases, as well as the glimpses of a rookie Josie, and the book has that old-school Josie Quinn vibe that hooked us all from the beginning.
Right from the start, the stakes are high, and I was genuinely saddened when the first body was discovered. Out of all the victims, this one hit me the hardest, leaving a lingering sense of loss throughout the investigation.
Turner, who has often been a source of frustration with his lazy and incompetent ways, surprised me this time around. Although he still annoys the heck out of me, his interactions with Josie and Gretchen provided some much-needed comic relief. It was refreshing to see him finally stepping up and doing-ish his job. The reveal about his past connection with another character was a fascinating twist—I’m eager to see how that story unfolds in future books.
One of the highlights of this instalment was reconnecting with Josie’s family, and the abundance of happy news added a heartwarming layer to the story. The cat-and-mouse game between the Josie and the killer kept me on the edge of my seat, with twists and turns that left me guessing until the very end. The Maureen Easter egg was a delightful touch, adding another layer of fun for Lounge readers.
The call back to Josie and Noah’s wedding vows was a beautiful moment, grounding the intense action in the deep emotional ties that have been built over the series. This book is an adrenaline-pumping, edge-of-your-seat read that will leave you breathless.
However, whilst the mystery in “Remember Her Name” is self-contained, the character development and evolving relationships are anything but. New readers should definitely not start with book 21; this series is best enjoyed from the beginning to fully appreciate the growth and depth of its characters.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Remember Her Name is a fast paced gritty and compelling read that will have you holding your breath, can't put the book down and heaven help anyone, dog included, if they interrupt .
Lisa Regan has outdone herself in Book 21.
Expect the unexpected from Lisa.
Josie , Noah and the crew are back racing against the clock to solve the murder of a young woman found stabbed with a polaroid photo under the body.
She is the first of many.
Something about the photos is so familiar to Josie .
Kyle Turner the newest member of the team ( I kind of like him) is trying hard to fit in: or is he.
Josie once again did not listen as I yelled don't do that, don't go in there and the tension mounts with every page.
Lisa Regan is a master of leading the reader down the path with the clues she cleverly puts out along with a few red herrings to an ending that always surprises me.
I thought I had cleverly followed the clues this time but I was so very wrong.
Josie Quinn and Lisa Regan are in my top 3 favourites and Remember Her Name is my favourite book in the series so far. ( Until Book 22).
Don't miss this one. Clear your schedule and hope not to be interrupted.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the privilege of reading and reviewing Remember Her Name.
Remember Her Name is book 21 in the Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan. This book is incredible! I could not put it down and finished it in one day. Detective Josie Quinn is called to the park where an infant has been left alone in her stroller. The mother has vanished and no one can imagine why she would leave her daughter alone unless someone forced her to. As Josie is looking at the baby, there is blood on the stroller and on the back of the baby's onesie. The blood is from someone else as the baby is perfectly fine. When they lift the baby out of the stroller to comfort her they notice a polaroid photo has been left there. The photo is of a body of water with something blue in it, maybe a building of some sort. Josie has the feeling that it's a clue to the mother's whereabouts.
Cleo Tate is the missing mother and her husband is lying to them about where he was at the time of her abduction. Did he have something to do with it? He seems to love his daughter so why would he put her in danger? Nothing is adding up. Then Josie realizes where the photo was taken. It's from an old crime scene Josie investigated in the past at Cold Heart Creek. The blue in the photo is a boat that is grounded and stuck in the mud. As Josie and her team race to the area, they are too late for Cleo. Cleo has been dead for awhile from several stab wounds and a new polaroid photo has been left. Whoever is doing this has taken someone else and they must be at the location in the photo. The problem is the photo is blurry and you can't tell where it is. How much time do Josie and her team have before another person is found dead?
As more bodies are found and more photos are left as clues, will Josie and her team be able to find the killer before he hits too close to home? Josie has a connection to all of the places the bodies are being left. Is this killer out to torture her? Someone wants revenge, but who and for what? This book will keep your heart racing and the pages flipping as you race to the end. The suspense continues to build throughout until you can hardly stand it! Lisa Regan has done it again and Remember Her Name is one of the very best in the series! The book is available now and should be devoured and enjoyed! I rate Remember Her Name 5 stars with my highest recommendation. I'd like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy of Remember Her Name in exchange for a fair review. #RememberHerName
I know that I say this every time BUT this was old school Detective Josie Quinn. In my opinion I got that vibe and man I was all in. This was dark, creepy and truly unputdownable. It blows my mind that this far into the series I’m still so invested.
The character progression is hands down the best out there. When you are in Denton you are literally Josie’s ride or die. And Tucker…come on, I love to hate him. And he even had some moments. His story when it is revealed is gonna be so good. I cannot wait until I visit Denton again. Lisa Regan has created a brilliant crime thriller series that I can’t get enough of.
Remember Her Name (Detective Josie Quinn Book 21) by Lisa Regan takes us back to Denton, Pennsylvania, to witness another intriguing case unfold. Josie and the other members of the investigative team race against the clock to solve a missing person turned murder case featuring a serial killer who leaves a clue to the location of the next victim at every scene. Yet the killer still slips through their fingers and seems out of reach. The story is told predominantly from Josie Quinn's point of view and alternates between the different points of view of some supporting characters.
I love many things about this book: ● The story has a strong opening. The prologue grabbed my attention. I found myself smack dab in the middle of Josie's visceral reaction to a case when she was a rookie (15 years ago). I liked that I got to see Josie when she was not at her best. That highlighted her growth and evolution into the detective she is today.
● This book did not fail to do what other books in this series have done. It (the story) proved that Josie would eat, breathe, and sleep a case and showed her relentless drive to protect the innocent and arrest the cruel, evil, and ruthless.
● The characters in this story draw readers in and give them someone to love (Josie/Noah/Drake), hate (Turner?), or identify with (Amber). There is a healthy balance between sharing the personal/daily lives of the characters and focusing on the case.
● The final positive aspect of this story that I want to mention is the satisfying, unpredictable ending. I thought I solved the case; I couldn't have been more wrong. The twist at the end surprised me. But it was plausible, in retrospect.
I have been reading this series since its inception. This case was intriguing and interesting in its own right. However, it was not the most gripping compared to previous cases that fueled my expectations. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
I recommend this book to lovers of police procedurals, crime novels/ thrillers. This book, albeit part of a series, is a standalone. But I invite you to read the previous books that showcased (in real-time) Josie's journey of love, struggle, heartache, loss, resilience and hope.
4.25 stars Remember Her Name, the 21st book of the series, starts with a look at Josie when she was a rookie and that prologue scene eventually connects with the current case that Josie and her team are working on. A baby found alone in a park in her stroller is just the beginning of a troubling case in which the killer is leaving clues, taunting them for not being able to stop the next death. It looks like Josie may be the only one who can figure out the puzzle and catch the killer.
What I love about this series is how well Josie, Noah, (her husband and her colleague), and Gretchen work together as a team. In this book, it has now been one year since Detective Kyle Turner has joined the team. He is still frustrating at times, but I'm beginning to see another side of him and look forward to seeing how more of his story unfolds in future books.
This case is both intriguing and chilling since the killer is relentless and for a long time is one step ahead of the detectives. The eventual showdown with the killer is scary and dramatic with an unexpected twist. This is another exciting book in the excellent Josie Quinn series!
I received an advance copy of this ebook at no cost from NetGalley and Bookouture, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.
would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this awesome book
where to start with this one..... its so good
starting at the beginning josie is a rookie and this has her running out of a crime scene to vomit....thats how green she is...
its the old boys club she is battling against where she sees her fellow officers abuse their power but even though she complains about them they are protected......
now back in present day times josie is still working with douchebag.... and hating it but hes her partner so she has to make it professional even if she wants to strangle him at times
josie gets called to a scene where a baby has been left with no signs of its mother.... but once at the scene things dont add up and once they find a polaroid with hints to a crime scene things start to move forward....
its a puzzle that hints to things that are slowly unravelling in josie mind ... can she unravel the clues before a dead body shows up....
its a tense thriller that keeps you glued right to the very end... but what a ride... there are some tender moments that bring tears to your eyes but on the whole you are on the edge of your seat with this one
Remember Her Name is a compelling crime thriller. That sees Detective Josie Quinn and the team including her husband Noah and new detective Kyle Turner hunt for a serial killer. Who is playing a deadly and dangerous game with Josie Quinn as the ultimate prize!
As new mother Cleo Tate has gone missing her baby abandoned in the park. The only clue a Polaroid picture that is hard to make out and a husband who is shady to say the least.
But when Josie works out where the Polaroid was taken and Cleo is found dead. With another Polaroid close by the team know they are in a race against time. Especially when they learn who Cleo's dad is.
And as the bodies begin to mount up the stakes continue to rise. As more and more links to old cases and law enforcement are made and as the team searches through old cases Josie spots something that rocks her to her core and has her realising the killers ultimate goal is her.
But before the team can act another girl is abducted and Josie and Noah have to go out on a limb to save her.
And with so many twists and turns and an ending I did not see coming, this was a cracking addition to the series and I was hooked. So much so I spent every spare minute I had today reading it.
I would thoroughly recommend Remember Her Name to all.
My thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for my cooy of Remember Her Name. All thoughts expressed are my own. ☺️
Well... Once again I am pleased to report that I have never been disappointed by a Josie Quinn novel. Remember Her Name is #21 in the series and another race against the clock to solve a seemingly unsolvable crime for Josie and her team. Here is what I loved: 1. We dove deeper into the new character Turner but we are still left wanting to know more. 2. We see Josie as a rookie in flashbacks. 3. We revisited some cases from previous books in this scavenger hunt format that was very fast paced. 4. We got more family stuff- involving Trinity and Drake (I won't elaborate because-spoilers!). 5. Lisa Regan's usual ability to write stories that make reading them effortless and spellbinding. How can you not keep binging on this series?? Thank you to Netgalley, Bookouture, and Lisa Regan for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Holy smokes! Be warned, this series is highly addictive. After 20 books you might expect a series to be a bit repetitive, but that is not the case with the Josie Quinn series. This installment was fast paced and filled with multiple gritty scenes. With only a few cryptic clues, Josie and the Denton PD race to solve the mystery before the next body is added to the equation. The team is slowly getting used to their newest member, Detective Turner, but they are still experiencing some growing pains and personality conflicts which leads to an intriguing dynamic. The ending made me hold my breath! There was more than one jaw dropping twist as the suspense built up! Such a fantastic read. Thank you to Bookouture for the opportunity to read an early copy. All thoughts are my own.
Never disappointed with Josie Quinn and her team. This was a fast paced police procedural that revisited some of the notable crimes solved in previous books. It was a scavenger hunt of clues and full of twists. I love this series and book 21 will leave you excited for more!! Thank you to author, Lisa Regan, bookouture, and NetGalley for an advanced read copy.
Remember Her Name by Lisa Regan is the twenty-first in this series and in that time we have ushered Detective Josie Quinn through all kinds of police-related trauma. And plenty of personal trauma. The trauma has been lessened by the steadfast love of her husband, Lieutenant Noah Fraley, also a member of the Denton Police Department. It has been some time since their friend, Finn Mettner, had been killed but the wound was deep and his replacement didn’t begin to fill the hole left. To put it mildly, Kyle Turner was a jerk and he seemed to enjoy it. But this was no time to let him mess with her. A woman had just been abducted from a park, leaving a baby in a stroller at the scene. This called for all-men-on-deck. Josie seemed to be the only officer who could quiet the baby. Shortly her father arrived. Then, there were more murders and at each one a polaroid was left with an obscure clue. Josie, who had a weird mind anyway, recognized them, although not immediately, and they always found a body. It was after the third that they got a break. The woman had called, under coercion Josie was sure, her teenage son to the scene. He wasn’t dead, yet. When it all came together Josie was in shock. It stuck back to her earliest days on the force.
Josie Quinn is an excellent investigator and it’s a good thing because their small force was put to the test regularly. The story is interspersed with personal moments, like Drake’s proposal to her sister, Tiffany, and her parents coming for dinner. And she and Noah were still in the process of trying to adopt a baby. Amber, Mett’s girlfriend, was slowly recovering although she worked from home most days. Josie and Noah are a good team and time after time they manage to solve the crimes they are chasing. The chases are heart-wrenching, especially because Josie is so realistic and refuses to hold out hope when she sees none. The characters are good and they are dynamic, changing as the series progresses. If one loves police procedurals, this is a good one to follow. Regan has her fingers on the pulse and always come through.
I was invited to read Remember Her Name by Bookoutre. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #Netgalley #Bookoutre #LisaRegan #RememberHerName
This was great. As the series progresses the characters gets better the cases get better and I’m loving it. Noah is such a wonderful man and husband,he is so sexy and he has come along way from book 1 They are trying to adopt SAFE!
This is book #21 in the Josie Quinn series. Whilst it can be read as a standalone book, I would recommend reading the books in series order for better understanding of the characters stories. Quinn is back on the case of an abandoned baby in the park and a missing mum. I love Josie's character and whilst she's had her fair share of bad things happening in her life, she's still a strong character who works really well with her team. This investigation takes us back to Josie's early days as a police officer and we get to meet some of her past colleagues as the storyline moves on.
This story is fast paced and it jumps straight into the action when the baby is found in the park. It soon becomes clear there is another serial killer in Denton County and we follow Josie and the team as they try and put all the pieces together. I loved to see Turner still in the team and whilst he hasn't particularly won the "most valued member of the team" award, I definitely warmed to him more in this book and loved the banter between him and the rest of the team!
This was another gripping, high action story that was full of tension and suspense! We are kept wondering who was involved and giving lots of suspects to ponder over. Once I started I couldn't stop and found the book to be a real page-turner! Another great addition to the series! Would recommend!
Detective Josie Quinn and her cast of characters are doing what they do best which is solve murders. It seems the team is working more cohesively after the death of their colleague. Josie is back to more herself in this book. Everyone families seem to be extending and I am excited to see how that shakes out in future books. Also, the work relationship with Turner and Quinn appears to be going in a positive direction.
