After receiving a call for gig work in Scotland, twenty five year old LA-based professional stuntwoman Gennie readily accepts: she needs the money and it will take her far from her toxic but all too tempting ex. After losing GPS signal on the way to her accommodations in the Highlands, she stops at a petrol station and runs into extremely hot - and extremely skeptical Nathan.

Having barely survived a scandal as a teen Britpop singer and quitting show business, thirty seven year old divorced single dad Nathan is content with raising his young daughter Abby away from the spotlight, working at his gin distillery and keeping people at arm’s length to avoid being burned again. Finances cause him to reluctantly lease the camping pods on the outskirts of his large, chronically in need of repair estate to a film crew with the proviso that the main home is off limits. When he collides with American Gennie, he’s nonplussed by the attraction he feels for her.

A structure fire and no alternative accommodation has Nathan taking Gennie into his home temporarily. As she proves to be a balm for his starved for companionship daughter, he realizes he’s in over his head. When Gennie is injured and out of work after rescuing Abby from mortal harm, his decency requires him to continue housing her during her convalescence.

As Nathan and Gennie are thrown into close proximity, their mutual attraction and genuine regard for each other can’t be denied. Neither can the positive affect Gennie’s presence in Abby’s life be ignored. Temptation leads to passion, but an outside threat brings a thunderous and abrupt halt to their nascent relationship.

Will Nathan’s inability to let his guard down and trust Gennie drive her away forever? Or will the feisty, deeply kind woman stand her ground and fight for Nathan and Abby?

Beatrice Bradshaw has written a wonderful love story that examines the lengths to which a father will go to protect his daughter and his heart. It also beautifully portrays a woman who’s been marginalized by the person who raised her and while it’s definitely informed who she is and made her independent, it has also caused her accept crumbs from those who profess to care about her, while still remaining incredibly decent, loving, and kind, especially to those who least deserve it. I truly enjoyed reading this story and was rooting for the MCs and Abby all the way.

I was fortunate to have received an advance reader copy from the author and booksirens, and I’m very pleased to leave my honest impressions.

Set in a dreamy Scotland location Love In The Scottish Fall Forest features two admirable characters Nathan and Gennie. Nathan a grumpy single dad, a dad to the delightful Abby and Gennie the stunt woman from LA. The whole story had me captivated from the start with its heartfelt story, instant attraction and the journey the two face to overcome some major obstacles. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and would highly recommend it! I received a complementary copy from the author.

3.5/4 stars for me !
3 spicy pepper rating

Thank you to the publisher and author for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

✨What I enjoyed:

- I was interested in seeing how the love affair was going to come together.

- The spice was decent, and I wanted just one more scene, I wish the bonus scene was in the book!

- The side characters were enjoyable!

✨What I wanted different:

- I wanted to connect more with the characters, there was just something about both of them I couldn't latch on.

- I was looking for more Scottish landscape/ fall vibes, I feel like it only had a pinch, and I wanted at least a tablespoon!

Overall, it was a cute quick and little fall read with some decent spice! I would still recommend it !

Grumpy single dad Nathan is hiding in the Scottish highlands from his past when feisty stuntwoman Gennie comes into his life.

Needing to get out of LA Gennie takes an amazing job offer in Scotland. Nathan is having money troubles and rents out his lodges to the Gennie and the crew. Gennie lodge gets damaged she ends up staying on the main estate with Nathan and his daughter.

Nathan isn’t used to be around strangers. He lives in his own bubble. And Gennie pops that bubble 🫧 🤍

The build up and the tension is high which I loved. They have a will they, won’t they moment.
But finally they both can’t hold back anymore. The love in this story was amazing to read

‘You’ve made a home in my heart, Gentlestorm Rivers.”

This is the perfect book for a cosy day. ☕️🕯️📖

Октомври продължи с романтична книга - Love in the Scottish Autumn Forest.

* " Across the water, trees stood against a sky that held back the sun. Leaves blazed red and orange and brown – nature’s curtain call before winter’s grand entrance. The time for rest and peace. "

* " Who knew I’m a fall girl in more ways than one? "

It was my second book of Escape to Scotland series and it was definitely worth of reading. Gennie came into Nathan’s life like hurricane and turned everything upside down.
Gennie lives for heart-stopping thrill, while Nathan is hiding from his scandalous past, with his daughter Abby.
She is stuntwoman from L.A., filming stunts in Scotland, on Nathan’s property. Their first encounter sparkles, attraction is undeniable, while their age gap seems a problem.
Loved both characters, their ups and downs. Intense love story, play of strong characters who need to learn to trust as their pasts had a strong impact on their decisions.
Loved the Abby and other encouraging from community and friends.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Was so EXCITED to read this one! The previous book was so good, so I had my hopes up for this one! And it didn’t disappoint me at all. Nathan is a grumpy single-dad whose kid means the world to him. Our heroine is the stuntwoman Gennie Rivers.

Beautifully written, good spice and just a wonderful read. I really enjoyed this one! Perfect amount of spice and plot here. Enjoy!

These four books have been amazing. I have loved all of them and both the male and female characters have earnt a spot in my heart...and then comes Nathan!! The grumpy Scot is the best character...well, maybe second to Abby!! There is laughter and heartbreak in this story but highly recommended reading.

I had never read the others in the series so can read as a stand alone.

This book was beautiful and a perfect autumn read. It was the type of book that was so damn good I didn't want it to end. I messaged the author when I had 30 pages left and was refusing to finish it 🤣 There was so much heart and life in this book. I doubt I'll fully be able to describe how great it is but I'll sure try.

It's set in Perthshire which is where I live which is super exciting. As it's a small place there's not many books I've came across that feature it (apart from a few local authors I've had the pleasure of reading this year)

Gennie is a stunt double who takes a job in Scotland to get away from her ex and help her career. She meets grumpy, single dad Nathan who is running away from his past and has no intention to make connections with anyone. Especially not someone 12 years his junior. But fate doesn't seem to be on the same page and keeps pushing them together.

Abby, Nathan's wee girl, is just adorable. I loved Gennie and Nathan. There were many cute scenes and also 🥵 scenes. The whole book was like a massive cosy hug and very enchanting. Excited it's part of an interconnected stand alone series as I want to read them all.

Having never read any of the other three books in the series, I was a little sceptical of picking up this book. However, it truly stands alone and it’s an absolutely gorgeous read.

Beatrice has a way of drawing you into the story’s world, fully immersing you in autumn leaves and crisp evenings.

I adored the little trio of Gennie, Nathan and Abby. Although I’m not all that keen on insta-attraction, there was still enough slow burn to keep me interested and to make the pay off so so good when it finally happened. In fact, I read this on a plane sat next to my mother and had to ask her for more water, I was getting so steamed up.

I love how the pair worked through the scars from their past, both by themselves and together. The miscommunication trope, while not my favourite, was handled really well and actually made sense given their previous relationships, and the reunion was adorable.

There were some spots where the pacing felt off, but it didn’t stop this from becoming a really enjoyable read. I can’t wait to go back and cover the rest of the series.

My Initial Thoughts

Single dad, well that trope drew me in straight away. I loved the banter between them both. The cover is stunning and makes it an absolutely perfect autumn read. When the dedication reads "To all the strong, independent badasses who'd like someone to lean on. Occasionally." I was also drawn in about the fact "Gennie with a G" is a stunt women! I've been looking for this trope for a while so I hit gold with this!

Plot

The plot is romantic and tense, full of sunshine via Abby. I like how the dynamics for this are turned around and not the average plot line. The emotions were there and you can feel them intensely. Mostly you can feel the tension between Nathan and Gennie but it really was the little things that made this book so amazing. "He's a grumpy single dad hiding from his past. Until a fearless daredevil topples his world."

Characters

The characters are so loveable, and Abby is just adorable. The push and pull and slow burn between Gennie and Nathan certainly has its sizzling moments.

Recommend

i recommend this to anyone that is looking for a autumn romance read with the perfect hit of spice.

Favourite Quotes

" Perhaps one day he'd be ready to let someone into their little bubble. But for now, he had Abby, and she had him, and that was enough. It had to be."

"His presence was huge, filling the forest. This man was a whole vibe."

"The strong, silent ones who wore their grumpiness like armour were as soft as jelly on the inside."

"If i wanted haggis, I'd ask for haggis. But right now, I want a juicy, artery clogging, all-American cheeseburger. Served with a side of Scottish broodiness."

"You're telling me that throwing yourself out of a helicopter onto a moving train is nothing, but a few cloud farts freak you out?"

Favourite Chapter/s

Chapter 11 & 16.
Summed up in one sentence

A perfect seasonal romance,

Overall Wrap up

This is written in third person over a single timeline. 'a stunt women, he's the grumpy older single father. The spice in this for me was absolutely the right amount, the plot was there throughout, always something happening. At one point I shed a tear, and gasped hoping things wouldn't go wrong. When the slow burn starts burning, it's everything and so worth the wait. Third act breakup crops for a while, but its all worth it in the end. I really enjoyed this from beginning to the end. And the epilogue was just everything you could wish for. I also enjoyed the authors acknowledgements and how she come up with the broody single dad, and daredevil stunt women.

Forced into close proximity at his rural estate, the grumpy Scot and the free spirit from LA can’t resist their magnetic attraction – despite their 12-year age gap and vastly different lives.

But Nathan must protect his privacy, or he risks his child’s safety and well-being. And Gennie brings exactly the attention he’s desperately trying to avoid. With the ghosts of past hurt and betrayal lingering, they must decide if they’ll take the greatest leap of all – trusting each other.

“Love in the Scottish Fall Forest” is the fourth instalment in the “Escape to Scotland Series.” This is a cosy and steamy small town romance contains quite a bit of profanity and a few spicy scenes. The relationship between Nathan and Gennie is sexually intense and highly provocative. Gennie is a professional stuntwoman from LA working on the movie on the estate owned by Nathan. He is is the reclusive single dad to the precocious Abbey.

“This guy was something else. Tall and broad-shouldered, with a shock of tawny hair that fell across his forehead in a sweep. Even from a distance, she sensed the coiled strength in his solid frame. This dude oozed enough wild, dark magnetism to short-circuit the grid. His eyes were striking, stormy blue. The kind of eyes that could pin a girl down on her back with one look.”

As the story continues, so does their relationship. Both Nathan and Gennie have emotional issues to deal with. Will they be able to make it work? Will they overcome their issues and have a future together? One is fleeing from the future, the other is running from the past. Will they be able to meet in the middle? Will Nathan open up his heart and trust again?

“He’d never seen eyes like hers before. Swirling hazel and amber. Dark as old wood at the edges and golden flecks at the centre with long, black lashes. The kind of eyes that pierced the surface of things and brought a man to heel. Completely mesmerising. For a second, he’d been as stunned as a posh git caught in a pub brawl.”

This is a beautiful romance set in the beautiful Scottish countryside of Perthshire🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 A thoroughly enjoyable read from one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. You will fall in love with Nathan and Gennie, hoping that everything with work out for them and they have a future together. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

Love in the Scottish Fall Forest is the 4th stand-alone book in the Escape to Scotland series by Beatrice Bradshaw. It is a cute but spicy contemporary romance set in Scotland featuring an age gap, a single dad, grumpy-sunshine, forced proximity and found family.

Gennie Rivers is a fearless stuntwoman who thrives on the adrenaline of high-risk jobs. When she gets the chance to take on a stunt for a new movie being filmed in Scotland, she jumps at the opportunity—hoping to escape her toxic ex-boyfriend and give her career a boost. Nathan MacMillan is a single dad hiding from his past as a former teenage pop star. Wanting to shield his daughter, Abby, from the media frenzy, they live a quiet life in the Scottish countryside. But when financial hardships force Nathan to rent out his property, their peace is disrupted. After Gennie saves Abby’s life and ends up injured in the process, Nathan can’t turn her away. As they’re forced into close proximity, the undeniable chemistry between them grows stronger, and Gennie soon becomes an integral part of his home and family. But with the shadows of the past betrayal looming, they must decide if they can trust each other enough to build something real.

This is a cozy small-town romance that makes you want to curl up with a blanket and a pumpkin spice latte. The warm, intimate setting and the sweet, slow-burn chemistry between the characters create the ideal atmosphere for an autumn escape. The writing style of the author is enjoyable and you get quickly pulled into the story. It is a quick and easy read. The characters are well-written and charming. Both Nathan and Gennie come with their own emotional baggage—one is running from the future, while the other is escaping the past. The plot is carefully crafted and never dull, making for an engaging read. I especially loved how the story gave us a strong, multi-dimensional female lead—tough yet tender. Nathan's intriguing past also added depth to the overall story. Their first encounter crackles with chemistry, and while their age gap presents an obstacle, the attraction between them is undeniable. I really enjoyed their dynamic, with all the ups and downs that made their connection feel real and earned. The love story is intense, shaped by two strong characters who must learn to trust each other, especially as their pasts significantly influence their decisions. Nathan’s daughter, Abby, is such a sweetheart, and their relationship (also her relationship with Gennie) is absolutely heartwarming. It adds a beautiful layer to the story, showing Nathan’s protective side and his deep love for her. I also really appreciated how the author captured the essence of small-town life—the vivid scenery and the close-knit community. It really brought the setting to life, making you feel like you were right there with the characters, experiencing the charm and warmth of the town. It all ties together perfectly, creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere that enhances the story’s emotional depth.

All in all, it is a nice and cozy story that really makes you want to go and experience it yourself. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book.

Another season in Scotland and this one is filled with whimsy, pining, a firecracker of a stunt woman giving Lara Croft vibes and a reclusive former 90's pop star single dad. So many heartfelt thanks to Beatrice for allowing me an early copy - all thoughts are my own and freely given.

You can definitely enjoy this as a standalone but I strongly encourage readers to visit all the stories set in the series as each highlights a different location, a different couple, and unique combination of character dynamics and growth arcs.

While I have loved every book in this series, this one hit the closest to home for me personally - not only did this story capture a lovely romance between an unlikely pair, but with beauty and vulnerability it discusses a character in adulthood who's childhood was filled with instability. Gennie is a stuntwoman priding herself on her independence and fearlessness, but she also comes to discover that while she's made peace with her past, it has had profound effects on her perspectives on people and relationships.. and herself.

I LOVED the character history of Nathan - while he is most definitely a grump who lives a reclusive existence with his daughter in the forest, he is also a former pop star who rubbed elbows with infamous boybands from the 90s (so many thanks for all the excellent pop song references throughout the story!). I was not prepared for the amount of agony I felt on his behalf as we uncover the secrets of his past and how paralyzing fear of repeating mistakes can be when you're trying so hard to be a good single parent.

Without giving anything away, I can tell you that there is certainly some things that happen which call both Gennie and Nathan to task in how they will need to choose life going forward (HUGE side eye to one of you, you'll know what I mean when you get there). And holy cannoli, their chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS. Hands down the steamiest book of the series and I am not complaining lol.

If you like:
- 90s pop throw back references and age gaps where the number gap may be over 10 but the life experience and ability to engage with the world is closer to 0
- cute 7 year olds who are precocious and kind hearted and written exactly as how I imagine my own 7-year old would behave
- character growth that includes the ability to identify and refuse narcissistic behavior, even in the face of desperate need and validation for self love purposes..
.. you will enjoy this fall read.

This was definitely my favorite of the series. You can tell how Bradshaw has been honing her craft through the series and this is the beautiful result. It was a well-balanced story with enchanting characters. I quite enjoyed my time with it.

The one part of the book that wasn't my favorite is that there were almost too many beautiful descriptions. At times it felt a bit over-narrated. I'd love to see more moments of dialogue that are just purely the dialogue.

I really appreciated how self-aware Gennie was throughout, especially at the beginning. It was refreshing to see a character who knows she needs character growth and knows how she feels in a clear way. Nathan is also pretty self-aware but not as strongly as she is. Also just having a strong FMC in general is something I will always appreciate.

I want to applaud Bradshaw once again for including queer side characters in her stories. It is nice to see and is done in an artfully subtle way. As she mentioned to me, she doesn't want to appropriate stories but knows the importance of queer representation.

Oh my gosh, the tension in this one was unmatched by the rest of the series. It had me absolutely eating it up! It was the perfect balance of will they won't they combined with moments of non-romantic bonding.

There is spice in this story so if that is not your thing, this is not the series for you. That said, the spice is much more artfully done than a lot of spice in romance books.

Entertaining, romantic and a sprinkle of spice

This romance novel contains all necessary ingredients needed for a great and entertaining read: a strong heroine who loves her job as a stunt woman in Hollywood, a sensitive single dad with some traumatic past experiences, unexpected new friendships, a charming little girl, a beautiful location in Scotland where a movie shot and the main story itself take place, some obstacles and an amazing plot with a piece of drama, a bit of spice, a few sprinkles of fame, past betrayal and intrigue.

The story is told from two points of view, and the reader is always able to know the thoughts and some background stories of one of the main characters before the other one learns about those. Nathan for example is not so good at sharing his thoughts and former experiences with Gennie and that leads to some unnecessary drama and misunderstandings.

The plot is well thought out, never boring. And this is obviously also the reason for keeping a light suspense going on: There is an accident in the forest, a fire at place where the film crew is staying, a misbehaving actress, some brazen paparazzi and there are hidden secrets and fears, that will turn out to be obstacles for the main characters Gennie and Nathan, and of course there are also some evil minded or jealous people, who try to make an impact.

I won’ t share any more details here, because this book is so enjoyable and I highly recommend it as a very entertaining read with all the feels and a HEA.

🍁Delightful journey into autumn with a recluse single dad🍂

4.5🌟 stars
Author Beatrice Bradshaw gave me some of my favorite things in this delightful romance. Autumn is my favorite season and her descriptions easily conjure the landscape and feel of fall in the forested Scottish countryside. And one of my top tropes is a single dad with an adorable child or two finding new romance.

Plus, I loved the unique quality of Gennie, the Hollywood stuntwoman female lead. She's modern, strong, confident and knows what and who she wants, but she's also got a soft and vulnerable core thanks to the unstable life she led as a kid with a free-spirited, wandering mom and no father figure. And seven year old Abby is adorably fun and enthusiastic while heaping love on her reclusive dad Nathan, who's afraid of attracting the unwanted attention and notoriety he dealt with as a young pop star. He's so protective of his daughter and their privacy that he's just coping and existing for his daughter's sake, not really living.

Great set-up for a no-holds-barred romance that has to overcome some major obstacles, both those expected thanks to his reclusiveness and some spontaneous problems thrown their way by paparazzi and hazards in the forest. I totally enjoyed the whole experience: plot, characters, spicy intimacy and especially the cozy moments spent huddled together under the covers.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Scotland in the fall, two wonderful main characters you can’t help but root for, and an adorable little girl – what is there not to love about Love in the Scottish Fall Forest?? I was captivated by this book from early on and faced quite a dilemma – on one hand I wanted to keep reading page after page quickly to see what happens next but on the other hand I wanted to savor this story for as long as possible and stay in the forests of Perthshire with Gennie and Nathan forever.

Nathan runs a small gin distillery and lives in a big old house in the middle of the forest with his seven-year-old, Abby. Nathan is still scarred by the way his early career as a teenaged pop star ended some twenty years ago and wants to shelter his daughter from every storm. Enter Gennie with a G, a force of a woman, who comes to Scotland as a part of the stunt crew working on a film. Gennie is funny, strong and independent, but underneath it all she has her own insecurities and hardships to deal with. Nathan, Abby and Gennie keep running into each other and pretty soon being together starts to feel more natural than being apart…

This book is written so very beautifully, and the setting is gorgeous of course – I love fall most of all after all – but even more gorgeous is the way both Nathan’s and Gennie’s story evolves as we get more glimpses from their pasts and see them open up, bit by bit. A perfect fall read!

“With Gennie here, the house wasn’t bricks and mortar. It was alive.
And, hell, so was he.
A ray of sunshine on a dreich day had nothing on Gennie with a G.”

Nathan , daddy to young Abby is a pop star with a scandalous past, that he needs to surpass. Determined to protect his young daughter from what she didn’t ought to know. You know? A responsible fellow . But he’s forced into leasing his land when financial troubles force his hand. Genie Rivers is a larger than life stuntwoman on and off set. She’s set to have her best one yet. It’s on a Scottish film set. Get away from her toxic ex and at the same time leave the Hollywood set in her wake. When she saves a young life , that one act forces an opposite attraction . This book was such a great read and left me wanting to pack my bags and head to Scottland. A grumpy x sunshine, single dad romance with spice and such a great easy read.

FMC Gennie is a stunt woman from the US who finds herself in Scottland to film a new movie. On her first night of her arrival she runs into a sexy yet grumpy guy at a gas station, the MMC Nathan.

Nathan is a single dad and gin distiller who lives in the home on the property the movie is being filmed on and has a secret from his past that leaves him wanting to be very secluded and secretive.

After Nathan's first encounter with Gennie with a G, he finds himself thinking about her constantly until a late night accident on his property leads him right to her. They are quickly thrown under one roof together with Nathan's daughter Abby where they are forced to navigate new territories and trying to avoid the inevitable romance they are both wanting.

There were so many cute moments I found myself just smiling and laughing and others I felt so bad for the feelings from Nathan's daughter Abby. A great choice for a cozy, fun, relaxed, heart warming read.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Beatrice Bradshaw just keeps getting better and better.

Beautiful Perthshire isn't a part of Scotland often represented in Scottish romance novels. Neither are rugged single dads who live in atmospheric forests in the region. So hats off to BB for combining these two elements in this story. But she didn't stop there. In she dropped feisty American stuntwoman, Gennie Rivers and made that forest light up in flames. Not literally, just from the heat between Gennie and the rugged single dad, Nathan.

The will they/won't they between Nathan and Gennie will pull you along and keep you turning the pages until you get to the very satisfying pay off, but you'll be invested for more than just the between the sheets action. Both main characters are deftly drawn with intriguing back stories and present day stakes, including Nathan's adorable daughter, Abby.

Overall, this is a sublime autumn/fall read, but it's actually a perfect story any time of the year. And the great thing about this series is there is a book for each season, so no matter the month, there is always a Beatrice Bradshaw novel to enjoy.

And if you like your spice spicy then grab the bonus scene at the end of the novel. It's amazing.

Gennie is a stuntwoman from LA who accepts a job in Scotland in a new fantasy movie. Her first night in Scotland, she meets Nathan, a single father recluse who she later discovers owns the property where the shoot is taking place. The pair are instantly attracted to each other, although neither is willing to act on it due to their age gap and Nathan’s desire to keep his daughter safe after spending his teenage years in the spotlight. A series of circumstances puts Gennie in Nathan’s house for a few weeks, and the pair begin to act on their attraction.

It was great reading a story with a strong female character who is tough and soft at the same time. She had never truly had a family or a family experience before, so it was sweet seeing how she quickly fit in with Nathan and his daughter. Nathan’s protectiveness over his daughter was fierce, and at times was a bit too much even given his past. But it was lovely to see him slowly let go and welcome people into their lives.

While I enjoyed the story, I didn’t connect with the characters as much as I have with the characters in the other Escape to Scotland books. There was more physicality than character development at times and I found myself wishing they’d get together already so we could move past their physical attraction to each other. I would have loved to read more about Gennie’s job and didn’t feel like there was a ton of fall vibes until the end at the Halloween party.

Overall I enjoyed the story but it didn’t pull me in the way others in this series have.

Nathan. Oh. My. God. I don’t know what it is about this character, but reading this made my knees weak. I give Gennie so much credit for not jumping his bones sooner. 🥵

I think every woman needs a Nathan. This cozy, yet spicy, romance, takes place in the Scottish countryside. Cue the hot Scot, the syrupy accent, the sensitive side that’s good with kids, and the brooding businessman all wrapped into one. *swoon*

I loved that there was also story amidst the cozy spice. The grumpy-sunshine trope fit really nicely, and it felt like there were some elements of Beauty and the Beast stirred in to the bad-boy past and lost-girl backdrops.

I flipped through this book so fast, I devoured it in one sitting, far surpassing the reading speed my kindle gave me on this one.

If you’re looking for a fall romance, with an age gap romance (it’s only 12 years) that makes your heart flutter, your stomach clench, and maybe set a simmer to your lady bits, go out and snag a copy ASAP.

It’s cuffing season (is that still a thing?), and if you’re like me and prefer the literary men these days, Nathan is a prime candidate.

Scotland in the fall? Fantastic. Scotland in the fall with a hot single dad with an adorable little girl? Perfection. Gennie and Nathan story evolves so nice. I feel like there was definitely some insta-lust which I normally don’t like, but they both had some internal (and external) battles that made it seem very natural.

I feel like each character’s backstory was essential in their character development. I also really love how the tropes were familiar in a sense that it felt “homey” while also uniquely introduced that allowed the story to feel like it’s own. I am not normally a miscommunication trope gal, but it was not annoying in this book. Also, the side characters (I’m including Sir Hubert as a side character- he’s important!!) were phenomenal and added so much depth to the story!

Tropes:

* single dad
* Grumpy/sunshine
* Age gap
* Forced proximity
* Miscommunication/assumptions

I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This book was a joy to read, I love reading the books for the Escape to Scotland series. The story follows young adult actress Gennie who gets a gig to be a stunt double in Scotland for a movie production that is being produced on Nathan Macmillan's land. Nathan is described as being a private individual who is a single dad to his young daughter Abby. Gennie meets Nathan at a local gas station and sparks start flying immediately. From uncertain events that happen in the book, Gennie starts becoming closer to Nathan and Abby and she soon realizes why Nathan is very private about his life. I honestly, really enjoyed reading this book. It was cozy, spicy, and romantic for a fall-themed book. I always enjoy reading Beatrice's books because they are easy to read and she does an excellent job of capturing the reader's attention. Beautiful read 5/5 stars :)

“Love in the Scottish Fall Forest” is the story of Ginnie (a stunt double) that goes to film in Scotland and meets grump single dad Nathan.
They have instant attraction and have a hard time staying far from each other even if he thinks their age gap is too high (12 years).

After a fire at the pod where Ginnie was staying, she has to stay in Nathan’s guest house.

I liked the way Ginnie got along with Abby, Nathan’s daughter.

The cover has really cozy autumn vibes, but this book is also spicy. Nathan has a dirty mouth.

What I did not like so much is the POV change during the chapter and the way he reacted after pictures of them got in the news.
I think that she also forgave him too fast. He should have groveled more.

This is the first book I read from this author, but I want to read the other ones from the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Scotland is one of my favourite places on earth, especially up in the highlands so I love books set in this beautiful country. The detailed descriptions in the book really bring Scotland to life. I had a real affinity for the main characters in the story Gennie and Nathan. I really liked that Gennie was a different kind of a character as a stunt woman. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with that character in it before. Then there’s Nathan, the former pop star, hiding away from the rest of the world, trying to be a good single father to his adorable 7 year old daughter. These two characters make an incredible pair. Both of them had issues from the past that they needed to deal with in order to become a couple, but they helped each other through the them, proving that true love can overcome anything. This is the first book by this author that I’ve read and I completely intend to read the rest of the series.

*** I received an ARC copy, and this is my voluntary review.

Fall in Scotland brought me towards this book and I wasn't sure what to expect exactly as I've never read this author before. I really loved this story. Both main characters are likeable and interesting in their own rights. The story was much more than your usual chick lit and I found myself wanting to know what happened without being bogged down by overzealous and unrealistic sex scenes. To be fair, there is one big sex scene but the story stands on its own without it.

My only complaint is the age gap between the main characters being brought up so often. In this day and age, 12 years amongst people in their 20s and 30s is not that bad.

Overall I would recommend reading this as it was funny, charming, and leaves you wanting more from the characters. Great for Katherine Center fans.
