King's Inn #1

Escape With Me

Rate this book
She’s fallen for her enemy’s best friend…

Bailey should’ve known he was too good to be true the moment Drew stepped foot on the inn’s property. After losing all her workers to the rival resort on the neighboring land, what were the odds that the world’s best—and yes, most handsome—handyman would just magically appear in their tiny Montana town?

Handyman. Ha! More like a successful Wall Street tycoon masquerading as a jack-of-all trades. The lying hottie with the easy grin is old friends with her cutthroat rival next door, who’s intent on destroying her family and all they’ve built.

But Drew has reasons for keeping his secrets, and he hasn’t told anyone why he fled NYC. He thought it was a cruel twist of fate that had him hiding out at his friend’s resort, but now that he’s met Bailey, he’s starting to think it’s not cruel fate but destiny that brought him here…to her. But can he prove that to Bailey?

Meanwhile, family secrets have come to light that could change everything. With the inn’s restoration in full swing, new mysteries are uncovered that could either save the family or ruin them for good…

Bailey and two of her siblings run the King's Inn, it's Bailey's passion to make it a success. There is still so much to do and her neighbours keep taking her employees.
This is a family feud that outdoes the Montagues And Capulets. The latest generation are determined to get to the bottom of this feud and win...therein lies the problem, who will win this feud.
Younger sister Willow who is all rainbows and fairies finds a treasure chest and part of the mystery. I have a feeling this mystery will continue unless the end of the series.
Their latest handyman has a secret, a big one. Losing his job in NYC he is finding his way in life and didn't expect to fall in love in a small town. Living a lie is not a great start to a relationship and you know it's going to blow up before long.
There is only a small teaser from the O'Sullivan sisters previously series, this one will stand alone.
I can't wait to read more, find secrets and watch the characters find their own fate.

Just loved Bailey and Drew's story with the whole family rivalry going on between the Kings and Spencers. The story has set us up for more adventures as mysteries unfold and characters discover what really makes them happy and shed the heavy expectations of family. This was my first time reading something by Sophia Quinn - definitely will not be my last.

I received a copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

I really enjoyed the Sullivan Sisters series and I was so excited for this new series. It's set in the same world and there are some small cameo appearances of some of the Sullivan Sisters. I was so looking forward to get to know the King family. I picked this up in a weird reading mood when nothing was really gripping me, but this book grabbed my attention form the first page and kept it.

I really enjoyed this book Escape With Me is a lovely romantic read following Bailey and Drew who fall in love when she hires him to help work at her inn. Besides that there are also the points of views of both Willow, Bailey's younger sister, and Eric, who owns the rival resort in time. I really liked this. It kept the focus on Bailey and Drew's romance, but seeing Willow and Eric's story play out slower on the sidelines was really fun as well. I like how Willow and Eric meet and while they don't like each other at first, the spark is there and I like how they get involved in this mystery together about what caused the family feud.

Bailey and Drew were wonderful to read about. I really liked both of them, they both feel real with their own hopes and dreams, as well as fears and struggles. I loved Bailey's passion for the inn and all her plans for the future, how excited she got and started telling about all these plans and how Drew got swept up in her excitement and fell in love with her, her plans and the inn. I really liked reading about the inn and the small town as well as all the nature surrounding it. Drew's struggles with getting fired as well as how he was afraid for disappointing his family felt very real. He thought he had his life together, but then realizes that life never made him happy and seeing him find happiness with bailey in this small Montana town was awesome.

I really liked these two together. Their connection was clear from the start and I loved seeing it bloom into something deeper the more time they spend together. I just liked seeing these together and the way they interacted together was awesome to see. There is a bit of foreshadowing early on about what will be the conflict/ drama point later on and while it was clear what would happen it was still painful to see it got down. I am not a fan of these type of scenes, but I liked how it made sense why the characters acted that way and I like how it got resolved and the way it didn't drag on long. The way they got back together was great and the epilogue and ending was just so wonderful and sweet.

I liked how this book sets up the series, we get introduced to most of the King siblings and get a feel for the family dynamics as well as the family feud with the Spencer family. I liked the side plot line following Willow and Spencer and how it seems they will get their own romance and figure out more about this family feud. There is some mystery and links to the past and it was all very interesting. I look forward to seeing that play out throughout the series.

To summarize: This was such an awesome start to this new series. I really enjoyed this book, it grabbed my attention from the start and kept it till the end. I really enjoyed reading about Bailey and Drew, they both felt so real with their own hopes, dreams, fears and struggles. I really liked the two of them together and how they grew closer. I loved Bailey's passion for the inn and all her plans to make it even better and the way Drew was there to help her and how he fell in love with her and the inn. I liked how their romance played out and the ending was super sweet. I like how this book set the stage for the rest of the series with introducing most of King siblings. And there are the point of views of both Willow and Spencer as well, who get involved in figuring out what caused the family feud between the two families. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

When it comes to small town, family driven sweet country romance, this dynamic author duo always delivers in spades. I was so invested in the O'Sullivan's sisters and was equally as excited to learn there would be a new set of small town siblings that needed to find their significant other.

This story focuses on Bailey King who has been left in charge of getting her family Inn profitable. Her life becomes much more interesting when handsome Drew who is passing through town on vacation, accepts a job as her helpful contractor. Things get interesting from here as Drew must navigate his new found friendships with the King siblings as well as his lifelong friendship with their  biggest rival Eric Spencer who is their nearest neighbour and runs the exclusive Blue Sky Lodge and his family has been the Kings biggest rival for nearly the last century.

There are shared secrets throughout and I loved the dual POV as well as some from the secondary characters that will undoubtedly lead to future interesting stories to come. I adored Drew, this was the perfect start to this new amazing series.

Great read

Wonderful start to the King's Inn series, and it's nice to catch up with some of the O'Sullivan crowd. I would recommend this story to any reader that enjoys small town, feel good romances.

I really enjoyed this one! I loved getting to head to Paradise Springs from Aspire and start with this new series and the King siblings. I became engaged pretty quickly with these characters and the story. I love the banter and interactions of the 3 King siblings that are working together at the Inn, Bailey, Brandon and Willow. They are a solid team and have the sibling teasing with also best interests at heart. Bailey is the one "in charge" and feels a lot of responsibility to make the Inn a success and prove to her dad and twin (not at the Inn) that she knows what she's doing and this will be successful but she is constantly having issues with personnel being lured away by feuding family rival, the Spencers. Drew is the area to visit his best friend from college, Eric Spencer, after he lost his job in New York but he hasn't told anybody that he lost it yet and is avoiding that conversation. Drew and Bailey met in town at the hardware store and both are drawn to each other from the first moment and Drew ends up with an offer to work as handyman. I enjoyed watching Drew and Bailey getting to know each other and building a relationship. Drew is omitting information and the deeper they go and the more he learns about the feud, he realizes that he needs to start opening up and then things are out of his control. This story was great and I loved getting to know the rest of the characters better as well. I loved getting to see the interactions and storyline with Willow and Eric and the treasure they find and their delving into the history of their two family's and No Man's Land. I am super excited to see what comes next and can't wait for more to develop with Willow and Eric. I love Willow's personality and her ability to still see with that childlike fanciful/fantasy outlook, still seeing the magic in things. I really enjoyed the way that this one was laid out with Bailey and Drew being the main couple but getting the other perspectives and start of storylines as well was great. I can't wait to see more of Bailey and Drew in the rest of the series as well as getting the other ones. Great start to a new series!

Escape With Me

This is a great start to a new series by Sophia Quinn. It is the sweet story of Bailey King and Drew Olsen. Bailey King is fighting hard to keep her Inn running and growing in order to keep it in the family. She is battling her nemesis, Eric Spencer. Drew is Eric’s best friend who comes to visit his ex college roommate and knows nothing about the feud when he meets Bailey and agrees to help her with a project in order to keep himself busy. They quickly fall for each other. What happens when Bailey discovers who his best friend is and Eric discovers how Drew has been helping Bailey?

Quite a cute story build upon two workaholics that can’t help but find themselves drawn to each other. This story is builds upon lies that Drew laid out in order to not let anyone know he actually lost his job and the growing amounts of concerns with the King’s Inn and their family feud.

I’m excited for more adventures with these characters and seeing how they develop if there will be more books in this series!

Heartwarming.

I really enjoyed this sweet, heartwarming romance. The story has a nice plot and well developed characters.

The King and Spencer families have been in a family feud for decades. When Bailey falls for the Spencer’s son’s best friend she has to decide if she is going to let the feud get in the way of her happiness. I really liked the underlying plot of and mystery of no man’s land. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

This book was so cute! The writing style was easy to read and the story kept me wanting to turn the page from beginning to end!

I feel like the first half of the book moved a little slow and the second half had a lot of moving parts trying to mesh together to tie up loose ends.

The two main characters were easy to fall in love with! I loved their energy and chemistry and was rooting for them the whole time!

This book was a page turner that’s definitely worth the read! I’m super excited for Willow & Eric’s story and see what happened to Brandon when the next book releases later this year!

Bailey is on a mission. Her father gave her a 2-year deadline to make her dream come true. Her dream is to turn the family inn into a success, and she has so many plans for the future with her younger brother and sister alongside her. It's all going ahead of schedule with the only hitch being the next-door neighbors. But they aren't normal neighbors and it's a major hitch. The Spencers own the resort on the other side of the mountain and won't stop until they run the King's Inn into the ground. The feud between the families is nothing less than the Hatfields and McCoys. When Eric Spencer lures Bailey's last construction worker away from her, she is desperate, so when a stranger offers help in the hardware store, she jumps at a chance to get her projects back on schedule for the summer season. It doesn't hurt that the builder is ridiculously handsome and the most interesting man she's encountered. Drew is equally enamored with the beautiful innkeeper. But he has secrets that could destroy everything they are building.

I wasn't sure about this series when it was introduced. I loved the O'Sullivan sisters but wasn't sure the the Kings. Their small role in the last book didn't convince me there was an entertaining story there. I was wrong. I loved all three siblings and it soon became clear, that they each have a story to share. Small towns and big families are what this author does best. Bailey and Drew were ideal for one another. It was natural, easy, and wholesome. There was a very human conflict, layers of family drama, and fear of disappointing the loved ones closest to us. Very relatable. Plus, there's a bit of a mystery that spans years; maybe as long as the feud. I love that the drama is everyday drama we can all understand, not over-the-top ridiculousness. I love that it can be resolved with openness and honesty. These characters are realistic and as each series continues, the reader becomes part of the family. I already feel like a King.

Unexpectedly finding love and a home

I loved this small town sweet, heart warming, and joyful story about finding your truth and your path. It had the perfect balance of humor, heartwarming love, real life issues, mystery, secrets, family drama, and grace. It is a beautiful emotional journey of all the words and all the feels - laughing, crying, swooning, sighing, and teeth grinding. Drew is a financial manager in NYC until he made an investment error and was fired. While he figures out a plan, he decides to go on a 6 week “vacation” to Montana to visit his good friend/college roommate Eric Spencer at his family’s luxury resort. On the neighboring property, Bailey and her siblings are working to make the King’s Inn profitable but she’s running into problems with the Spencer property poaching her employees. Bailey meets Drew in the local hardware store and offers him a handyman job at the inn without realizing his connection to the Spencers. Drew accepts the job to avoid boredom but soon finds himself enamored with the Inn, the work, and Bailey. To add more depth to the story, there are some chapters from Willow, Bailey’s sister’s, and Eric, Drew’s friend’s, points of view. To get to their HEA, Bailey and Drew will need to do some baggage unpacking, truth telling, forgiving, trusting, and life course correction. The story was well written and included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline. I am looking forward to reading more in this new series.

The first book in a new series promises to be exciting as two families at loggerheads with one another battle it out, and I am looking forward to finding out how the Kings and the Spencers resolve their differences. A feud that originated over one hundred years previously, for a reason that no one can remember, continues to the present day with all the anger, revenge, and one-upmanship of previous generations. The impact on Bailey and her siblings is compounded when their handymen are enticed away by their neighbor, putting Bailey in a difficult situation as time is running out. Meeting the charming Drew in the hardware store seems like a gift from heaven, and the feelings that grow between them have Bailey relaxing. Unfortunately that all blows to pieces when Eric Spencer drops his bombshell. Although this book is part of an ongoing series and ends on a cliffhanger, Drew and Bailey's story is complete bringing about a heartwarming conclusion. I received a copy of this romance as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

We had already been introduced to the King family in the O'Sullivan sisters' series, but getting to know them a little more was wonderful.
Bailey King has a two-year deadline to make her dream come true, turning the King's Inn into a success, but when her latest construction worker goes to work for the rival family's resort, the Spencers, her hopes begin to fade.
But when she meets Drew by chance and offers him the job, things finally seem to work out for her and her dreams. What she didn't expect was that Drew was Eric Spencer's best friend and was staying at his resort, which he did after losing his job in NY and having to rethink his life.
What began as a working relationship soon became something more, but when secrets are revealed, will they be able to overcome everything and move on?
I loved the story and the characters. I'm really looking forward to reading more about Willow King and Eric Spencer.
I highly recommend reading it.

Spin off series. Delightful romance in a beautiful small town setting. Bailey is trying to make a go of the King's Inn run by her family. Drew, however, has lost his job in the big city and just happens to be staying at the inn's rival resort owned by his old college buddy's family. A chance meeting and Drew becomes Bailey's handy man and more!!
But the long time feud between the families threatens to drive them apart. So many secrets and mysteries from the past add intigue to the story especially when Willow, Bailey's sister finds a mysterious treasure chest. What will it reveal?
Looking forward to more romance and revelations in the next chapter.

Drew keeps secrets from Bailey, part owner of a smaller family-owned motel competing with a larger one attempting to destroy them. After losing his corporate job, Drew visits his friend Eric, owner of the wealthy motel in Paradise Springs with a vendetta against Bailey's place. With nothing to do, Drew bumps into Bailey and offers to help her around her place after her handyman absconds, not knowing the history between two places. However, despite an increasing infatuation Drew finds himself caught between a rock and a hard place once his secrets derail. A different plot in this contemporary clean story that will maintain your interest throughout. Some closure between Bailey and Eric but open-ended for the other characters to be addressed in the sequel.

I absolutely adore Sophia Quinn, and her O'Sullivan series is one of my all time, top favorite small town romances series. Sophia's writing is always phenomenal, and I've truly loved everything she's ever written, but this genre, these small town, big family based romances, are totally her bread and butter. This is what she does best. She's at the top of her game when she's creating these big families in these wonderful small towns, where characters you can't help but care about chase their romantic and sexy happily ever afters.

Love, Secrets, and a Family Feud

Bailey's archrival is stealing her employees, so when a handyman appears out of nowhere, she thinks he is heaven-sent. She cannot help but fall in love. She has no idea that he is her rival’s best friend. What happens when she discovers the truth? Will she let a family feud ruin a good thing? In the meantime, Bailey's youngest sister stumbles on a treasure trove of old family secrets. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to those who like heartwarming, small-town romance. I look forward to what comes next in this series.

Escape With Me by Sophia Quinn delivers enemies-to-lovers tension, hidden identities, and sizzling slow-burn chemistry that’ll have you hooked. Bailey is trying to save her family’s inn, Drew is the “handyman” who’s actually a Wall Street tycoon, and when secrets come out? Sparks. Fly.

With forced proximity, family drama, and banter that turns into full-blown passion, this book is the perfect escape. You need this if you love grumpy-sunshine vibes, small-town romance, and heroes with secrets.

Three siblings fighting to make a profit of their family's Inn. A feud with the neighbors land so ancient nobody knows how it started. The King and The Spencer had been at war for a long time. Bailey needs help with the Inn. Drew is running away from his problems in New York. But secrets and lies threaten to break what they are building. Sweet and lovely.

Love this new spin off series from the O'Sullivan series! Struggling to keep her dream of running her family's inn, Bailey hires Drew, practically on the spot, as the inn's new handyman. Little does she know that he's keeping some big secrets from her...secrets that will not only destroy her trust in him, but all break her heart! Great series starter!

I am so looking forwards to the next book! I was absolutely stuck in this book and could not put it down at all. The varying perspectives had me thrown for a loop, especially when both couples didn't get an HEA but I understood the building tension for a new story. I loved all the different subplots melding together and it was just really fun to read.

I think this book had potential to be really good, but the ending left me with a want for the rest of the story. It ended pretty abruptly, and the writing felt more like a YA book. All the over-emphasis on God at the very end was out of place when there wasn’t any mention for 3/4 of the storyline.

The “sweet small town romance” should have given me a clue. Not really in my preferred style. VERY juvenile acting adults with too many religious references in the end for my comfort. The treasure storyline is intriguing but the next book isn’t going to be with who I thought it would be. Disappointing. Overall a decent book, just wasn’t my cup of tea.
