A gritty Western action series where frontier justice is paid for in blood.
He stands between two worlds—and both want him dead.
Nash is a hardened gunfighter with Apache blood in his veins, riding a lawless frontier where neutrality is a luxury few survive. He knows the land, the people, and the cost of choosing sides—but some trails lead only to violence.
Hired to escort a desperate miner through hostile territory, Nash understands the risks before the first mile is ridden. Tensions run high. Old wounds refuse to stay buried. And when they discover a wagon slaughtered and left to rot in the dust, it becomes clear this crossing will demand blood.
With enemies closing fast, a loyal dog at his side, and a mysterious woman who may prove ally—or threat—Nash must rely on instinct, skill, and hard-earned experience to keep them alive.

The storyline is fantastic. The action, the adventure, and the results are very entertaining, and that’s what the four stars are for. The lack of a fifth star is due to the incredible grammatical and spelling errors. I understand the occasional miss of proper grammar. But every paragraph seem to have something improperly written. Again the storyline is great. those mistakes. You just have to be able to read past those mistakes.
I am amazed that this writer had the nerve to ask readers to leave reviews since the book was full of not just typos, but incomplete words, sentences & paragraphs. Near the end, he suddenly began using a different name for the main character, but it wasn’t until later that the writer explained the reason.
I would have rated this book as no stars, had the system allowed.
This book was enjoyable to read and finished with a satisfying conclusion! There is plenty of satisfying Western action and the books hero, Nash, is a man to be reckoned with. Indians, Bandits, a pretty lady and a dog like no other fit together well and keep’s the ready wondering what’s going to happen next.
I read a book a week and this book’s editing is nonexistent. Starting with the Prologue and ending with the last page. How could the Author and the Editor allow this? I will not read another book by Mr. Steele again nor will I recommend his books. I gave it two Stars because of the story, though it should be noted it is very graphic in parts.
Love it when an author talks about places I’ve traveled. Oatman is near and dear to my heart, thanks for reminder. Can’t say I really liked any of the characters, but Nash proved honest and resourceful.
Loved the characters, the descriptions of the beauty of the environment. Loved the vicious protective primal dog. Knowing this is from a diary is excellent.
A bit predictable, and definitely needs some editing. It sounds like what it's presented as, a novel from great grandpa's stories, magnified by time. Good read.
Was a little too much gun fighting!! I did like how respectful to Lucy and thought writer could have told ending in more detail. I will try one more of his Western s.
