This is an important subject, and I had very high hopes for this book, but it failed to deliver.

It came off like a 'Spray and Pray' approach of throwing a bunch of low quality multi-step techniques out and hoping something sticks with the reader.

It honestly felt like a BuzzFeed listicle, and we all know how those turned out. Empty calories. In today's cluttered world where everyone is clamouring for our attention, it's more important than ever to focus our time on high quality information. this did not meet that.

Additionally, I noticed the reuse of things shared from other influencers. One of which was Andrew Huberman, and we all know how the exodus of followers from his content due to hus promotion of recommendations that are under‑supported by rigorous evidence. Not a wise approach.

I can say as an overthinker, Ive actually implement most of these recommendations already and they do not work (in fact often amplify my overthinking). this leads me to believe this content is similar to Huberman's, lacking rigorous evidence.

Scaling back and focus on fewer, more original and proven ideas would have benefited the author.

This is a quick guide for men who struggle with overthinking and it's packed with tools to recognize, understand, and change a spiraling mind and calm stress and anxiety. I thought it was a helpful resource and passed it on to my partner to read. *Free copy provided by the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

A book that is highlighting practical techniques to stop overthinking should stop overthinking. It DOES redirect overthinking. I leave it to other readers to decide if the techniques described in the book work for them. Some may find it helpful. For me, overthinking is my advantage, and not something to be discounted.
