Rate this book
When my car breaks down miles from my cabin, I’m rescued by none other than Rhys Kinkade, the man who broke my heart years ago, and his two adorable little girls.

Fifteen years ago, I was eighteen and Nashville bound. Rhys ditched our plans to leave Bourbon Canyon together. I thought he’d follow; he knew he wouldn’t. Now, I’m one album shy of headlining my own world tour and the words have dried up. Too much betrayal. Not enough fresh mountain air. So I came home.

After Rhys plucks me off the side of the road in the middle of a thunderstorm, he takes me to his house. The now divorced single dad isn’t the boy I once loved. He’s grumpy, for one. He stress-bakes the best muffins. And he shuttles me to the cabin as soon as the weather clears.

Rhys finally relents about letting me teach his kids how to play guitar, and I end up spending more time at his house. Which leads to a kiss in his shop. Which fires up my muse and the words pour out. One more kiss and I’m four songs deep into my new album.

With Rhys as inspiration, I can live my dream. But when it’s time to go, that’ll be the end of us. He’s not leaving his home, and he’s convinced I’m better off without him. If I can’t figure why he’s set on being alone, I’m going to return to the stage by myself. The biggest love of my life will be nothing but a bourbon harmony.

Fans of Devney Perry, Elsie Silver, Melanie Harlow, and Laura Pavlov will love Bourbon Promises.

Oh man, this was such a sweet read. June and Rhys’ story was full of emotion and you couldn’t help but root for them.

I loved that June called Rhys out on his crap and pushed him to talk about the root of his problems rather than leaving things surface level.

It was sweet that Rhys rooted for June so much when they weren’t together over the years, even when June didn’t know it.

I loved that everyone cared about his children and how their actions would affect them.

All in all, a fun cowboy romance and highly recommend!

What to expect:
🍪 Cowboy x Singer
🥃 Second chance romance
🍪 He stress bakes
🥃 Grumpy x Sunshine
🍪 Dual POV
🥃 MCs over 30
🍪 Single dad

I honestly don't know how to rate this. I was expecting June story, but I was a little bit disappointed by Rhys. I struggled during this reading. From the beginning I really didn't like Rhys at all! Rhys saying in the beginning "the sweetheart who's left me behind for fame and fortune" WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU SAYING, COWARD?? YOU left her with a fucking message!!! So don't even think about it! He left her and during all the book he played victim because she is successful and archived her dreams and by the way, that why you left her in the first place, because she could archive her dreams so I don't understand why he so angry with her. It was his decision to leave her so he doesn't have any right to be angry with her and it makes me fucking furious towards him. I wanted June to be furious with him for what he did, for the choices he made and were not just his to make, but she took him back like nothing happened, like he didn't leave her, married someone else and forgot about her for 15 years. ( He didn't actually forget about her BUT he did NOTHING to take her back). At a certain point during the reading I had a feeling that Rhys only cared about himself and the wellbeing of his daughter( I mean I can understand that he wants to protect his children but June was not a threat to him or his children, in fact she was very attentive and low key during her stay in her town), he is a little selfish, and projected his fears toward her with no reasons and then he goes to her tell her he don't want to be dragged into her mess and famous life, but he kisses her again then gaslights her again and again about leaving in a few weeks. It's nonsense. And don't get me started on all the drama with the ex wife. Calling the relationship and agreement about when the wife was in town incomprehensible is an understatement. I mean she goes around the world and doing her own things while his ex husband has to look after their daughters make me laugh.. who does that? Is he a martyr? It's really bullshit. Rhys needed therapy for what he went through during his period with his mum, and I think the author wanted to write a broken hero, but in my opinion didn't quite succeed in doing it. June was too soft, she kept going back to him, even if he let her go three times without fighting for their love. For all this reason I don't know how to rightfully rate thi, so I just let this review here.

🌶️🌶️🌶️

Bourbon Harmony was my first book by Walker Rose, and I enjoyed the small town, second chance vibes. It is the 4th book in the Bourbon Canyon series, and it can be read as a standalone, although I feel like this book brought up the previous couples a lot so I think it will be better if you have read those first.

Rhys and June were high school sweethearts, and they planned to travel to Nashville so June could pursue her dream of being a country singer. Unfortunately, Rhys was unable to go because his father was sick, and he needed to stay to help out on the family farm. He breaks June’s heart by pushing her away and ending things with her.

15 years has passed, and June is now a successful country singer working toward her first big stadium tour. She has had some betrayal and fallout with her manager and returns to Bourbon Canyon to work on writing her new album. She didn’t expect to have Rhys come to her rescue when her car broke down during a storm. She completely hits it off with his daughters, and she starts teaching them how to play guitar. Rhys and June have a deep connection, and they never stopped loving each other, but June is leaving in a couple of months and Rhys will never leave Bourbon Canyon, so they try to just have a short-term fling.

I was honestly frustrated with Rhys’ actions through most of this book. I understand his reasons for pushing her away, but they wasted so much time. I did love his daughters and how accepting they were to June.

I would recommend this if you love single dad, small town romances.

Thank you so much to the author for sending me this ARC! I absolutely loved this book. It tells the story of a single dad, divorced with two amazing kids, who finds stress relief in baking in a small town. And guess what? He gets a second chance romance with his childhood sweetheart, who is now a famous country music singer-songwriter. But that’s not all; it’s also a found family, complete with cowboys and cute nicknames! It has everything you could ever want in one book! You should definitely add it to your TBR now.
Oh, and the characters were just so lovable. Rhys was perfect, super protective of his little daughters, and loved June so much that he wanted to do the right thing by letting her go. And June was a strong woman following her dreams, who never stopped loving him.
June belongs to a large adoptive family, and I am eager to learn more about her siblings, their spouses, and the history and secrets they hold. I can’t wait to read their books!

I think I have found my favorite kind of series. It’s a series with connections throughout the books, but that can also be standalones, specifically set in a small town.

This was my first book by this author and once again I started in the middle of the series, but now I must go back and start at book one.

I loved the characters so much in this book. June is a blossoming singer who has so many small insecurities because of her disappointing relationships that she’s been in. Rhys is a rancher who has two adorable daughters, but has always been putting others before himself.

June and Rhys had a relationship in high school that was everything that people hope there’s will be. He has to make a choice when she leaves for Nashville that essentially breaks them apart.

The story is all about her, coming back to their small town to get away from the limelight and find herself again she finds herself right back in Rhys‘s arms.

I have to admit that my favorite characters in the book are Bailey and Hannah because they are just the sweetest kids. They are always asking the questions that you have as a reader but aren’t able to.

It’s a story of love, compromise, and growth. If you love smalltown second chance romances, this book is perfect for you.

Bourbon Harmony is book 4 in the Bourbon Canyon series. Each book can be read as a standalone, however for a better reading experience I recommend reading in order as minor characters do carry over. Bourbon Harmony is Rhys and Junes story.

This story really began 15 years ago, June and Rhys were high school sweethearts with plans and dreams.. plans for Junes career and to leave Bourbon Canyon..but June left, alone and heartbroken and although Rhys made promises, those promises were never kept…

fast forward 15 years later

Our Fmc, June is a successful country singer and is returning home for a short while. She’s been lacking inspiration to write, and now with the new album deadline coming due, she needed a fresh perspective. June has been through a bit in relationships and friendships over the years, but one thing is always certain her love for Rhys and her family has always been there.

Rhys, he’s a bit complicated. He married someone else, had 2 sweet daughters, but realized it wasn’t fair to his wife because he’d never love her like he loved Junie. I will say Kristen and Rhys seemed to have a great relationship and co parenting done well.

June gets her muse back when Rhys kisses her and admits he never stopped wanting her. Rhys and Junie just seemed to have this connection between them, the it’s always been you and no one else can fill that void type of connection. But June is only home temporarily… will she leave again? Will she have to say goodbye to Rhys and the girls ? Will Rhys decide to take the leap at a second chance at love?

Another great hit from Walker, if you like the small town books definitely check this series out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Heart melting, feet wiggling, pure goodness.

Honestly, Junie is the last of the Kerrigan sister’s books and it did not disappoint.
The whole time you know you wanted to give Rhys a right kick and shout what are you playing at and you know exactly how you want him to act. (Ok admit he annoyed me some of the time but we can bypass that cause hello hot mountain daddy)

But everyone in this book I adored so so much and the girls were just so super cute.

This series so far I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and I would definitely urge you to read it!

We are back in Bourbon Canyon for my favorite book to date! Second Chances for the win! June and Rhys are everything I thought, plus so much more! You are missing something special if you have not started this series yet.

This story is a journey and will hit hard in the feels. There is angst, but time has passed, and dreams change. Will the love still be waiting?

I wanted to love this book but I just don’t think it was for me. I’ve realized the country singer/celebrity trope isn’t one I really enjoy BUT if this is a trope you like, this might be for you. This is a second chance single dad x country singer romance and it’s a fairly quick read.

I love a single dad and second chance trope and they’re one of my fav tropes to read. With that said, I had a hard time relating to these characters and honestly felt like Rhys was a bit annoying the entire story. Rhys pushed Junie away the entire book and although I understand his reasoning, I did feel like it wasted so much time. If they would have just communicated their feelings with one another, it would have saved each other a lot of heartache.

Bourbon Harmony - Walker Rose

𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒎𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒏𝒅.

I was looking forward one SO much, but unfortunately it fell flat for me. I think it had a lot of potential, but needed a little tweaking and moving around. For a second chance romance, especially of a young love, it's hard to believe, 15 years later after only a few years together that this love ran SO deep, yet the MMC hid his secrets from her until the last 20% of the book. I think we should have known about his past earlier on and then they work through it together.

For these two to love so much and then just accept only a physical relationship was unbelievable to me and the martyr act Rhys had the WHOLE book was honestly very annoying. I think we needed him to work through his fears WITH June while trying to figure out their relationship. Also, we needed a moment between Rhys and his children at the end when he was explaining about June and their mother etc.

Walker has so much potential as an author and I would love to continue reading her stories, but for me this one needed more heart.

The writing. The emotions. The angst. Everything about this book is flawless. I would be lying if i said I didn’t feel deeply for these characters. I cried throughout the whole book, it hurt so much yet it is the best thing I’ve ever read this year.

Junie and Rhys. Rhys and Junie. Everyone at Bourbon Valley knew about them, about how there was once a future for them , until there weren’t.
Now, after a decade, Junie was a pop star, and Rhys was a single dad living in a ranch. Time might past, but the lingering feelings that were never gone but hidden came back stronger than ever once their eyes locked. Could this finally lead to a happily ever after, or would it ended up being a distant illusion that was never going to be theirs?

Walker has outdone herself with this book. Junie and Rhys, they’re so loveable yet so heart wrenching. The pain I felt for them, the joy I got seeing them together, the tears I shed for them, pretty much sum up why this book is a must read of 2024. Throughout the book, you’ll experience the feeling of old flames of love ignited, the undeniable connection between the two characters, and an unforgettable adventure of love and music.

I knew this was going to be a good book, but I was not expecting this one to get me so into my feels. I definitely fell for those little kids and how much Rhys adored them, but it also hurt me so much how he and June missed out on so many years together because of his own trauma. This is definitely where I say that life happens as it should so that I can feel a little bit better about them being apart for so long. But let me tell you. I definitely thought Rhys was going to walk out on her again. And this time June would be heartbroken not only because of Rhys, but because she lost the kids too. And I just couldn't take that. I cried. Mascara ran. It was ugly.

This is part of a series, but I think this still reads pretty well as a standalone. It definitely would have helped to keep all the siblings straight if I had read the previous books, but it didn't really take away from the story. In fact, I couldn't put this book down. And I'll be going back and picking up this series from the beginning as soon as finish up all the ARCs I currently have scheduled.

Bourbon Harmony is definitely one romance lovers need to read, but especially if you are in love with the single dad trope. This one knocks it out of the park.

Thank you Walker Rose and The Author Agency for the gifted arc in exchange for an honest review!

Rhys was such an amazing MMC. He was the best single dad to the most amazing girls! He was also such an amazing guy in general. What June thinks is he is breaking her heart is him letting her go to search and find her dreams. Now she’s back in town and her car has broken down, she finds herself staying with him. Rhys thought of letting June go all those years ago so she could give her life to the fullest and move on to a bigger and better life and not wait around for him… However, his feelings and love for this woman seem to have come rushing back the moment she entered the same room he was in. There is a pull and an immediate attraction still there regardless of how long it has been. Now that she is back in his life and all these old feelings are resurfacing, he is forced to decide if he can let her go this time.

I honestly couldn’t put this down. This would have to be one of my favourite second-chance and Single dad romance of 2024.

This was brilliant. Once again Walker Rose has captured my heart with her words and I’ve fallen in love with her amazing characters and her beautiful story!

Can’t recommend this enough!

We are finally back in Bourbon Canyon and I could not be happier…June, Rhys, Hannah and Bethany….what an adorable little family.

Walker has written an absolutely beautiful second chance romance.

June deserved so much happiness and returning home to Bourbon Canyon means she is once again in the orbit of Rhys and his beautiful little family.

I loved that it took a while to learn about why Rhys acted like he did and uncovering his deep rooted fears added to our understanding of him.

June is a family girl and just wanted to be home and watching her uncoil and realise that all of the things she wanted had changed over time, but I love how she honoured her initial dreams and made everything work for her.

Hannah & Bethany - These two 🥹…

I enjoyed the little updates we got from the other characters and the tiny snippet we had has made me excited for Tenor’s story!!

Thank you Walker Rose and team for allowing me to read another ARC of the Bourbon Canyon Series, I am truly grateful 💕

Rhys and Junie second chance was everything.

From his little girls to Junie coming back home and finding her muse again and this time not letting him go. I was hooked from the first page to the last to see if Rhys and Junie find their HEA. Bourbon Harmony really had it all from heartbreak in the first page, laugh out loud moments, the angst and teasing these two did to the moment the I can't live without you no matter if it takes them out of the comfort they created.

I really liked Bourbon Harmony and I can't wait to see what the remaining Bailey Family gets up to!

Thank you to Walker Rose for allowing me to read a copy of this book. It was such a fun read, and I loved Rhys and June's relationship. And the kids were adorable, even though I usually don't like kids in books. And this book covered topics that were hard hitting, and it almost made me cry. And I read this book as a standalone, but after reading this, I want to read the other books in the series.

Bourbon Harmony is a right pick for you if you like books where a couple falls apart because one of them thinks the other person deserves more but years later when they finally bump into each other again its like the feelings start to resurface no matter how much they avoid it.

June was so good in terms of expressing her feelings through her words and song and I absolutely loved her relationship with Rhys's kids.

This book was fun and I actually enjoyed how both the characters finally had the real mature talks before getting back with each other.

At first, I did not understand why he did what he did, what was his problem that he made one-sided decisions in every relationship he had. That got on my nerves.
Luckily there was a reason, though I would like it more if the resolution was a bit longer.
Hope each of the siblings, including the fosters get their own story.

My kind of book!

This book hits all the right spots for me — single dad, second chance, cowboys, rockstars (well country) a redemption arc and big big love!

Rhys and June are inevitable and oh so dreamy together, it’s not surprising that they would have to surrender… first to the attraction that never ended and then to the deep longing that makes them inevitable.

I loved this book and highly recommend it! The series’s a whole has been great so far too.

After four books in the Bourbon Canyon series, Bourbon Harmony delivers another solid read! Like the others, this one lands at a steady three stars for me—there’s plenty to enjoy, even if a few things held me back from loving it fully. The pacing was a bit slow in parts, but the single dad, small-town, forced-proximity vibe kept me hooked, and I’m always a fan of a second-chance romance.

In Bourbon Harmony, we finally get Junie Bee’s story. After leaving Bourbon Canyon 15 years ago to pursue her dream of becoming a country singer, she’s back in her hometown, looking for a quiet place to write her next album. She and Rhys were once planning to chase that dream together, but at the last minute, he backed out, breaking her heart. Now, after a run-in with him on a stormy night when her car breaks down, they find themselves face-to-face again. Rhys, now a divorced dad to two sweet little girls, still stirs up plenty of unresolved feelings for Junie.

I did find it surprising that Junie and Rhys seemed to pick up right where they left off, without much groundwork for how 15 years of distance might impact their relationship. But on the other hand, it was fun to see Rhys in full-on dad mode—his daughters are absolutely adorable. I just wish they’d meddled a little more, since they clearly love Junie Bee!

There’s some nice spice here, though not quite as much as I expected. But overall, Bourbon Harmony was a warm, satisfying read with all the small-town feels. And I’m already looking forward to Walker’s next book, Bourbon Summer, set to release in January 2025!

This novel centers on the relationship between Rhys and Junie, but unfortunately, it struggles to fully explain the strong connection between the two of them. From the beginning, Rhys is quite frustrating which makes it hard to understand why Junie continues to give him chance after chance after nearly two decades of hurt. This cycle of disappointment makes it difficult to understand why Junie would want a relationship with Rhys.

The writing itself also has some challenges. At times, the phrasing (word choice?, editing errors?) is unclear, which detracts from whatever message or feeling the writer is trying to convey.

While the story has great potential, the execution leaves something to be desired. It feels like a missed opportunity to explore themes of love, pain and forgiveness in a meaningful way.

This was so good.
The second chance trope hit hard. To see the love they still had for each other, no matter how many years had passed was so beautiful.
June followed her dream but she wanted Rhys by her side. She was as stubborn as he could be and she let him know it.
Rhys was a good person but he did everything for the people in his life. And that's a good thing except when you became miserable and you understand that maybe the choices you made weren't right to begin with you.
I loved them and how their love never stopped, it matured and they finally had their HEA
