This series is cute and the romance is progressing but it does feel like it’s dragging a bit. I’ll read the 4th one but if it continues into a longer series I don’t think I’ll keep up with it.
I think maybe I should have gone back to reread last volume because I don’t remember who all misunderstands what at this point haha.
The rings were a nice confirmation that their relationship is moving forward still but the fact that they’ve been together for as long as they have and have taken such big steps in their relationship makes in frustrating that Hashimoto is still so passive. Hopefully his resolve from this volume will carry into the next and we’ll see more assertiveness from him.
I like all the characters and the humor but I’m still looking for more of the growth from Hashimoto

The misunderstandings continue, which provide a lot of amusement. Despite that, this volume focuses more on the insecurities of both Hashimoto and Shirase. It’s mostly very sweet, but it does worry me a bit that both partners keep playing up jealousy like it’s something desirable.
I hope the next volume goes back to the sweetness and fluff that is both of these guys at their best.
I don't know that this volume really deserves 5 stars, but I'm giving it anyway just because I'm so fond of the series.
It is a liiiiiiittle slow-paced...I think I just got massively spoiled by how full that first volume was. An absolute ton happened in that one, and in the two shorter volumes since, it's sort of just...trailing quietly along, with not a lot of significant development? Which is okay, but I am still a bit confused by the pace in their relationship. Moving slowly a year into dating is perfectly reasonable, and I very much do not mind fluffy, sfw stories, but I kind of don't get how they've lived together for a year and still don't seem to be that physically intimate? Unless we're meant to understand anything more significant is just happening off the page.
The main focus of this volume is kind of about that: Hashimoto realizes he's been too passive in their relationship and isn't doing enough to show Shirase how much he loves him. He makes attempts to be more proactive: touching and kissing Shirase first, inviting him out on a weekend trip, telling Shirase that he's trying to actively show him more affection...
And that's the part that really leaves me hooked on this series. I love communication more than anything, and I adore how there isn't a smidge of misunderstandings in this series that's due to not talking to each other.
There IS a lot of talking to each other and misunderstanding the context...for example, Shirase still thinking that Atsushi is romantically interested in Hashimoto, and Atsushi still thinking that Shirase is dating his brother...but that's just because they're making assumptions based on conversations they are having, and not realizing there is anything to clear up.
But Shirase doesn't hide anything from Hashimoto, which is the important part. When he runs into Atsushi on their weekend trip, he lies to Atsushi about being there alone (which leads to Atsushi panicking and thinking his brother is there), but within a minute or two of being back with Hashimoto, he tells Hashimoto (a) Atsushi is there (b) he doesn't want Hashimoto spending a lot of time with him (c) that's because he's jealous, because Atsushi is interested in Hashimoto.
I love that. I love that he's upfront about the jealousy, that he tells Hashimoto what he's feeling and why, and that he's giving Hashimoto the space to deal with it. Which might happen in the next volume? Hashimoto was already thinking in this one that he needed to talk to Atsushi about the situation and turn him down, which will be a fun scene.
Meanwhile, Ren is finally talking about moving on and finding his own happiness! Love that. I have no idea who his romantic interest might be, but I hope if this series trails on that we'll be able to see some of that.
I don't know if all of the meeting-each-other-through-an-umbrella-in-the-past was necessary, but it was really cute, and fun to see them as their younger selves. Especially the Kumada brothers. All the relationships are just really warm and fun and complicated without being painfully dramatic.
So this is just an ongoing feel-good read for me, and I'm cool with that as a genre.
The developments of Hashimoto and Shirase's relationship in this were sooo nice, they are steady going! And I liked the little backstory about the Kumada brothers. It's clear Atsushi is a really good guy! But I think the miscommunication is dragging on a bit long and causing a bit of unneeded stress for the characters. The thing I liked about the first volume is that the miscommunication was very contained, and things got cleared up in a pretty timely manner. It just feels like this one is going and going. And is there no 4th volume yet!? I thought that this was gonna be a trilogy series but then got hit with the To Be Continued...! I'm so sad! ;-;
giggling and kicking my feet 😂 so damn cute honestly. the reluctant and shy love is just too cute. it's so wholesome and lovely.
I will say the last image of them was weird and unsettling 😂 there was just something that rubbed me the wrong way about the near adult having the kid sit on his lap. I know it's just like the younger versions of themselves but it was weird imo. otherwise was very cute and well drawn.
This series is so spot on for exploring evolving relationships and really keeps you invested with the growth between the men in each volume. I'm a little concerned that their is no volume four yet. But let's hope the mangaka doesn't leave us hanging and gives us more Hashimoto and Shirase.
If you're looking for a fun quick read that is part office romance, part gamer guy story, this is exactly what you're looking for.
I love them both so much, and it was so cute to see a backstory there they all basically already met. I really hope it becomes more than just a bonus story, since it was really interesting.

like a 3.5, but I'm bumping it down because of some weird art at the very very end that gave me the ick, I'm also a little peeved that the miscommunication from the last volume wasn't fixed in this one. not sure if I'll continue or not, but i do like Shirase and Hashimoto's relationship
4.5 stars because the misunderstandings annoyed me less in this volume and the sweet cute relationship moments are back at full force also the quote, “You want to touch me, don’t you. Do it. Anytime you want”. Would have driven me feral
I WAITED 194 DAYS FOR THE SCANLATIONS OF THESE!!! Love how this one focuses so much more on them navigating their relationship and being lovey dovey. MORE KISSES PLSS
Very cute but still many misunderstandings (I think it doesn’t bother me cause it’s not causing friction for the romance. ) I need more why are BL that I love so sparsely released?
