No really. Sit with that question. Let it echo. Let it quack back at you.
Ducked is weird. Capital W. Like, “I stared into the abyss and the abyss honked” weird. And yet. AND YET. There is a plot here. A real one. With feelings. And consequences. And a duck named Alfredo who is quite possibly the most unhinged literary entity I’ve encountered this year.
Yes, the anatomy is… inventive. Twisty peen. Duly noted. Filed away in my brain under “things I did not consent to knowing.” Yes, it’s hilarious. I laughed. Out loud. More than once. And yes, Alfredo is a menace to society who somehow ascends into something resembling Demon Greed and I just had to accept that as my new reality.
But here’s the kicker: beneath the chaos, the barbecue-flavoured absurdity, and the sheer audacity of this book, there is a surprisingly deep-ish story about desire, control, and what happens when you stop questioning the line between want and ruin.
I enjoyed this far more than I should have. I am concerned. I am entertained. I am changed.
This was a wild, truly unhinged ride about a 42 year old woman who accidentally summons a demon but he takes the form of an oversized rubber duck. And of course, they boink. While he is a rubber duck. I could not get into that part of the story, but a lot of other parts of it actually made me laugh out loud.
BUT! Once our demon boy got unducked, he was spicyyyyy in a way that DID work for me.
Also, a heads up, there was a flashback scene depicting SA that was hard for me to read, so be aware of that. I skimmed that chapter, though it was brief.
Overall, this was a silly and fun and weird ass smut book that I buddy read with my friend, Murphy. I don’t regret it, but it was a 3⭐️ for me.

Brooke isn’t in the best headspace. In the midst of a divorce after twelve years of marriage, she’s stuck living at home with her sister, her brother-in-law and their brood of screaming children. When her sister decides to head on a roadtrip, Brooke finally gets some much needed alone time to relax. What she didn’t count on was that she’d accidentally summon the demon Mammon, who just so happens to inhabit a rubber duck due to the summoning. Brooke needs to figure out how to banish this demon before her family comes back home… and Mammon might have some really spicy ways to accomplish this.
How could I give this book anything less than five stars? It was hot, enjoyable, had me laughing at some parts… but in all seriousness, this book was well written, had entertaining character development and was a very, very fun reprieve from heavier books.
I recommend this book for lovers of shifter romances, fun breaks from reality and gluttonous smut!
Tropes in this story: ✨Demon x human ✨Older FMC ✨Feminine rage & revenge ✨Demon with all the fancy & seggsy bells and whistles 😈 ✨Dubc0n
I received an Advanced Reading Copy of this book via the author, but my review is all my own.
A short, wild, and utterly absurd read 😏. One of those “what the hell did I just read?” books, but somehow exactly what I needed. Quirky, chaotic, and hilarious in its own weird way, perfect for a buddy read or when you want a break from the usual.
It’s a story about greed, self-discovery, and… well, a demon trapped in a rubber duck. Trust me, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds. The writing is solid, the pacing quick, and the whole experience is so over-the-top that you can’t help but laugh and shake your head at the same time. Do yourself a favour and don’t google how the duck’s… anatomy works 🦆😅. Seriously, ignorance is bliss.
If you like short, weird, borderline chaotic reads that leave you saying “wtf did I just read?” then this is your jam. It’s entertaining, silly, and strangely satisfying.
Ngl, I thought this was gonna be a smutty, nonsensical read. I was just in it for a good time—I was half right lol. The story? There was a minor plot. I wasn't expecting there to be. I laughed my ass off the entire way through this book. The squeaking! Hahahahahahahaha. The narrative and banter between the characters was excellent! The writing could do with going through another edit, but I loved reading it. I also learned what sounding is, which is...interesting hahaha. All in all, I'm very glad I picked it up and loved seeing the FMC coming into her own. Recommend for a fun read... get QUACKING guys!
Brooke is fed up. After years of abuse from her husband she is now dealing with him in her divorce proceedings. Staying with her sister's family is anything but relaxing. When the family goes out of town Brooke plans on a night of relaxation but gets something quite different. Mammon is summoned into a large rubber duck and has to teach Brooke how to be greedy to be set free. Can he redirect the people pleasing woman? Steamy and funny with a surprise here and there to make you giggle. Fun, fast read!
i cannot believe how bad this is ???? like putting aside the graphic on page rape considered "sexual coercion" from an abuser, the consented to smut with the demon was bafflingly boring and repetitive (even mimicking the kind of "sex" she hated having with her husband). and truly body horror levels of confusing cause what do you mean his rubber duck dick was longer than her entire torso ???? the best parts of the book were the bird puns and arguments when she thought she was hallucinating. also don't even talk to me about the fact that she said he tastes like BBQ. girl that schlong is NOT smoked mesquite. back it the fuck up.
This book is hilarious! It might be short, but it took me ages to read it because I was laughing too much. At one point, I even snorted tea out of my nose - I wouldn't recommend doing that! There's something about a demon being summoned by a bath bomb and accidentally possessing a rubber duck that just does it for me! Although there's a fair bit of ducking going on, our greedy demon helps Brooke stand up for herself and go for what she wants - I loved it!
Why fight it? Just let it go. Be the greedy girl I know you can be.

This book was ridiculous, and I mean it in the best way possible. It's an unhinged smutty book with top tier humor and fun characters. Poor Brooke just wanted to take a nice bath and enjoy her weekend, but ended up with a possessed rubber ducky.
Brooke was a hilarious fmc. She had me laughing throughout the entire book. I liked her relationship with the demon. Their bickering and banter was so funny. He was surprisingly a good influence for Brooke, well, for the most part. I loved seeing Brooke become more greedy and empowered.
Ducked was a quirky, entertaining, spicy and short read. I had fun reading it. And I can tell the authors had fun writing it. I recommend this to those looking for something spicy that will make you laugh.
I received an free copy via Booksprout and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to read this book.
Laugh out loud! So funny and stupid and utterly ridiculous, and that's what makes it even funnier! But also creepy weird because of the duck having sex with a human. If nothing else this is inventive!
Basically the story revolves around Brooke, a downtrodden, door mat of a wife, about to divorce her cheating husband. She lacks confidence and when a possessed plastic duck comes to life the demon, Mammon, living inside not only teaches her to grab her inner greed, but to have the confidence to be herself.
This is well written and entertaining. It's quite explicit with plenty of spice between Brooke and the randy duck (so weird but laugh out loud!), and when Mammon eventually regains his demonic form.
Got to admit that once I got over the ick factor of the duck it had me in stitches. And now I really have to say this, and no doubt it's already been said, but you don't have to be quackers to read it, but it helps!.

Where do I even begin with this book! 🤣 This book was definitely a fun time, I laughed so much throughout it. Who knew a bath bomb with a little piece of paper would summon a demon. Unfortunately for Mammon, he is summoned into a rubber ducky. Things get absolutely wild and hilarious. Mammon is the demon of Greed and Brooke needs to learn to be greedy. Some parts will now live rent free in my head. The ex-husband is definitely a tool, but I absolutely loved the ending of this book. Mammon's true form, damnnn! ❤️🔥 You will not be disappointed. If you need a good laugh and something that is unhinged, definitely read this book.
"I just manage to fill the cup and close the fridge door when I I hear a dis-tinct THUMP squeak THUMP squeak THUMP squeak. Turning, I see the duck's plastic body come flying down the stairs. He bounces off the last step, cursing as his squeaker shrieks, and rolls toward the patio door. Do I laugh? F*ck yeah, I do."
"The real me. And might I add, it is a much more dashing form than this." (He ain't lying 😉)

Brooke's life takes an unexpected turn when a seemingly ordinary bath bomb summons Mammon, the demon of greed, who appears as a giant rubber duck. Stuck with a talking duck demanding she embrace her deepest desires, Brooke navigates through a hilarious and bizarre adventure. As Mammon pushes her to indulge in greed, Brooke faces her toxic past and ultimately transforms her life. From shopping sprees to intense confrontations with her ex-husband, Brooke learns to demand what she deserves. With Mammon's influence, she finds her inner strength and confidence, culminating in an unforgettable and steamy encounter. Hot and steamy demon shifter, rubber duck erotica, exploring self-discovery, empowerment, and embracing one's true desires, wrapped in a unique blend of humor and supernatural chaos.
In the middle of a divorce and living with her sister and her sister's family, Brooke is not in the best place. On a weekend alone, Brooke is excited to drink some wine, relax in a bubble bath, and use some new bath bombs she bought. What could go wrong?!
Well, apparently a lot could go wrong. She accidentally summons the demon Mammon (the demon of Greed), who just happens to show up by inhabiting the body of a rubber duck. Brooke needs to figure out how to banish this demon before her family comes back home and that may just include...lots and lots of sex.
This book absolutely deserves five stars. It was hot, funny, weird AF, and exactly what I want from a sentient romance.
I recommend this book for lovers of sentient romances and people that can like humor in their books!

What can I say? It’s a rubber ducky romance. If you’re expecting something else, just hop along. The prose and even the smut was middle of the road. The plot was simple but cute. All and all, if you’re asking yourself “how does that work” it’s worth the read.
TRIGGER WARNING: there was not an adequate trigger warning on this book for the dubcon scene with her ex. As an SA survivor, i would have not read this book if I had known there was a scene like that, and it did mess me up. So for everyone else going into this with “innocent ducky” eyes, there’s a flashback to her with her ex where he essentially forces her to do him and she does it while thinking about how painful it is and how miserable she is. Absolutely there should have been a trigger warning on that.
I was hoping for something absolutely ridiculous when I started this book and it delivered!
The plot was really just there for show. I found myself thinking there is no way her divorce would work like that! And then I remembered the demon of Greed was summoned using a bath bomb to possess a 14” yellow rubber duck that had an anatomically correct 🍆 so I told myself to chill.
But I was here for the empowering message of the book that it was ok for Brooke to prioritise herself and want things for herself. And of course the unhinged spice. I was mostly here for that. 🤣
What a ducking good read! 😂 Sorry, I just couldn't help myself...
Seriously though, this little Novella was such a fun, lighthearted read!
Brooke, a middle aged woman going through a messy divorce needs to desperately blow off some steam. Mammon, the Demon of Greed trapped inside an oversized (yup, you guessed it) rubber ducky who is more than willing to be the steam Brooke blows off 🤣
Note to self, don't buy overpriced bath bombs from witches...
If you want a ridiculous and funny read. This is for you!
This book kept me on my toes and had me laughing out loud. I don't know what I expected when I chose to read this ARC - but it wasn't a demon possessing a rubber duck and an anatomically correct duck... member.
I loved the overall story as well - Brooke truly needed to learn to be a little more greedy in her life, and Mammon allowed her to do that!
Only 4 stars because the ending feels a little too open ended for my tastes!.

Honestly, this entire series is just such a blast to read. Can't wait to read all the sins. This one is greed and it's a doozy. Our demon of the day with this one is Mammon, demon of greed, and he has the lovely pleasure of inhabiting a giant rubber duck. Hijinks absolutely ensue while Mammon-ducky eggs our FMC Brooke into getting everything she desires (and a whole lot more). Be prepared for it to get weird and wild and hot in ways you never thought about before.

What a great read and number 3 in this series. Laughed so much and loved the main characters! Brooke was a great character and was pleased she came out of her slump with the help of a yellow rubber duck Demon! Couldn't stop the constant chuckling as these two nutted out what she had to do and the 'heat' was pretty great too!! ;D Just loved the "H... S..." moment!! It was almost too short and do hope there are more 'stories' to come! :D I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What the duck did i just read lol. I'm still slightly in shock from what I read. The book was absolutely hilarious. Brooke was in a Loveless abusive marriage. She finally decided to leave her husband after finding out he had been cheating on her. After a mishap at a store where she bought a couple bath bombs she ends up summoning a demon of greed named Mammon. Who would have thought that a demon who would actually help somebody. He helped her with herself confidence and her ability to stand up for herself and demand what she deserved in the divorce.

This is just hilarious. I have not laughed so much in ages. Just the mental pictures of some of this had me sniggering into my tea. I loved Brooke and Mammon so much, they were brilliant characters. The snark, the fun, the oops moments and I totally get wanting rid of the useless Eddie situation. I would have loved for Broooke to have been able to stay together with Mammon but then again you never know and these stories are not so much the full on happy endings rather than a happy moment in time.
