What will it take to get everything she’s ever wanted? The Moab240 entices her with its unrelenting elements and dangerous terrain, providing a distraction from her inner voice that longs for more.

Adam Ashford may be the greatest friend in the world. Forced by the laws of an IOU, he finds himself on the road to a two hundred and forty mile ultramarathon. When he asks a beautiful stranger at the starting line for a favour, his motivation improves drastically. Oh my freaking goodness y'all, See You At The Finish Line by @authorsaraclement was EVERYTHING! I've never read an ultra running romance, though I'm always on the hunt for romances about runners. For those that don't know, my husband used to run ultra marathons frequently, and I'm a distance runner myself. We met running; for most of our marriage, running was a huge part of our lives. And it is for MCs Paige and Adam too - when I tell you this book SPOKE to me. Gah! See You At The Finish Line is second chance with tons of pining, banter, forced proximity, a very improbable one bed scene 😏🤣. It's also a workplace romance, and there's HOCKEY TOO?! I don't read a ton of MF romance anymore, but y'all, this is probably going down as my favorite of the year. DO NOT MISS OUT!

I was completely enthralled by Paige and Adam’s story from their meet cute. Paige is incredibly relatable, Adam is an adorably awkward goofball, and it's pretty clear they have something special. I was kind of devastated by the huge ordeal they have to go through to find each other again, but y'all, it's worth it. Most of the miscommunication is completely understandable, and I think that having the characters work through their own issues and trauma before finally committing to each other works really well. I love how absolutely GONE Adam is for Paige; his brain clearly stops working around her and it's SO funny. And the spice? Phew, it's hot, and once they get back together they literally cannot keep their hands off each other 😏.

I'm SO THRILLED that I came across Sara Clement's page several months ago. I feel like I've been looking for this book, and it just found its way to me. I will be grabbing copies for all my running besties, one of whom won the race referenced in the book. Highly recommend, definitely going on my top reads list of the year!!

Review:

See You at the Finish Line by Sara Clement is such a fun debut! It’s a running-themed romance, which feels totally fresh and unique. Adam and Paige, the main characters, are super easy to root for, and the story jumps between their perspectives, letting us see both sides.

They meet randomly during an ultramarathon, but when the race gets cut short, they lose touch for years. When they finally reconnect, there’s a perfect mix of awkwardness and tension as they try to figure things out. Both have been through so much, and their support for each other feels so genuine.

The side characters are a huge bonus—Paige’s sister Leah and Adam’s family bring so much humor and heart to the story. While the pacing lags a bit here and there, it’s overall a sweet and refreshing read. Definitely worth picking up if you’re into romances with a twist!

I am so excited to be debuting with my light and fluffy, feel-good romcom, See You at the Finish Line!

Fun fact: this book was inspired by a real interaction I had at the start of a half marathon in Tobermory, Ontario. Although I am married, the interaction made for the perfect meet-cute featured in my book!

With twists on some favourite tropes and some incredible settings, you'll love this book if you love:
-banter
-dual POV
-spice
-slow-burn
-happy vibes
-loveable side characters (who may be getting their own books)
-HEA
-running (but you don't have to be a runner to love this book)
-texts+emails on page

Basically, if you want to kick your feet and giggle while people look at you like you're crazy, this book is for you!

I want to thank everyone who has supported me so far during my journey to becoming an author, a lifelong dream I've had. To my husband who gave great feedback like "this was so much better than I thought it would be" and "this sex scene is too long". I couldn't have done it without you!

To my alpha and beta readers who championed the story and fell in love with Paige and Adam from their first chapters.

And to you, my readers, now and future, thank you for taking a chance on me!

This book fulfilled all of my reading runner dreams. 🏃🏻‍♀️📚

I loved this book. It typically takes me a bit longer to finish romance books but I absolutely raced (😉) through reading this one. I felt connected to the characters, there were twists that I didn’t see coming, the spice 🌶️ and the running references all made this book amazing. As a runner, it was such a fun read. 👏🏼

Definitely a new favorite and I can’t wait to pick up a physical copy when it releases!!

Insta love always has a place in my heart, I’m a hopeless romantic. 🤍It was really fun to see a couple click so well and the banter was super good. I loved the MMCs POV, his inner thoughts made me laugh a lot and were really cute. (I kind of just loved him in general, her name in his phone is “future wife” like 🥹) There were also great dynamics between friends and siblings that made it even more fun to read. The meet-cute was inspired by true events and I loved that!
Even though this is a shorter book, it doesn’t feel rushed, you just really love the characters from the get go and are rooting for them the whole time. 💫

If you’re looking for a short and sweet rom-com that’ll keep you smiling, please pick this one up on November 5th!

✨thank you so much to the author for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!✨

This book is my favorite read of the year. The banter, the meet-cute, the slow burn, the spice 😮‍💨, the EVERYTHING. It is absolutely perfection. I fell in love with Adam and Paige from the first chapter.

Adam has my absolute heart. The way Sara was able to bring so much emotion from these characters, I honestly could not put the book down.

I will be running to the finish line (hehe to my local bookstore) when the book hits shelves because I need a copy!!!

I am sad because I wish I could reread this for the very first time and I’m so jealous of everyone that gets to experience all these emotions for the first time.

This running rom-com has my heart and I’m so incredibly happy!

Sara, thank you for allowing me to be one of your ARC readers. 💕❤️

I will be reading anything and everything Sara Clement writes!!!💕🥰

We love a good happily-ever-after romance! 😍 As a runner myself, I found this story so relatable right from the start. The characters are complex and well-developed.

Is it insta-love? Yes. Did I eat it up? Absolutely! He falls first and hard, and I was here for it.

This was such an enjoyable read and the perfect palate cleanser!

5/5 ⭐️ 2/5 🌶️

THIS BOOK!!! I was honestly blown away with this romcom. It immediately made it to my favorite books list. This might be Sara’s first foray into romance writing, but my god, it reads like she was meant to do this! The writing seemed to flow effortlessly with banter, wit, humor, and all the emotions.

I don’t want to give too much away about the plot; it was so refreshing to read going in blind, because it was done so uniquely and was so fun to experience. What I can say is it is a little bit insta love THAT TURNS INTO A SLOW BURN! If you know me, you know I ADORE an insta love/soulmates/fated mates trope. And this was done with such a twist!

Paige and Adam meet at the start of an ultramarathon. It is a really adorable meet cute, and because we see so much of the race in real time over the course of a few days, it feels like we get to experience Paige and Adam together for a longer period of time, and so their attraction is very realistic and you melt right along with them. Their attraction and chemistry were palpable, their banter and magnetic pull were effortless. And with the dual POV you get to experience all of the swoon!!!

Now, this is the part where I don’t want to give too much away… Towards the end of the race, we are down bad for these two and you are rooting hard for them. But then something happens and this book somehow turns into a slow burn that is WORTH THE WAIT! We also get a touch of hockey, they have to work together, a smidge of a grudge from a missed connection, and yes, a lot of running content (that as a person who despises exercise found myself loving).

RUN TO GET YOURSELF A COPY OF THIS BOOK!!! You will be racing through this one so fast. I mean, it will get your heart rate up, and have you panting (did I over do the puns? The answer is never…) This really put the com in romcom; be prepared to be giggling as you fall in love with Adam and Paige!

Okay LOVED this book!!!! And finishing the ARC on the day my husband runs his ultra is just the cherry on top 😍
First off, I am obsessed with their meet-cute at the beginning of the race. Automatically they’re drawn to each other and then keep looking out for each other along the race. Green flags all around. Smiling just for each other. Heck that was cute. The whole race was cute. Then their mutual pining and also stalking afterwards.
This story really highlights how strong Paige is and she really stands up for herself at every opportunity. The characters were developed SO well in this. And while I may be a tad frustrated with the miscommunication and resulting slow burn, it really makes a TON of sense for their characters and like how they would approach this scenario. Adam is so kind hearted and supportive and shy and such a freaking softie. Doesn’t wanna like overstep ever and he’s super respectful. BUYS HER A HOUSE (essentially).

I love the little details in this book too - the conversion from miles to KM (thank you from a fellow Canadian), the little runner insider info (like not using headphones on a big run - I didn’t know this until my husband started running), little details about the hockey world. Like so well done, girl knew her shit.
The siblings and friendships in this book are so good too. Paige’s devotion to her sister and nephew, her difficulty with losing her parents. The mental health representation in this is SO good and not like overdone with big huge chunks of info. Like sprinkled in and felt very real and honest. And Adam too with his complicated relationship with his dad and brother. And how Paige stands up for Adam?? Again with her strength and fierceness. OMG and her punching the hockey player. I die. She’s perfect.
I loved that it’s also a HOCKEY ROMANCE essentially. Like no clue going into this, I figured just highlighted running. But NO!! Adam is an ex-NHLer and continues working for his team in Vancouver later. I love how Paige thinks of his body originally and thinking like he does too much cross training. GIRL if only you KNEW then. Love it.
And only one bed?? And a SINGLE at that. AND a dreamy morning sequence?? Stoppppppp. My favourite. And a road trip. Essentially ✨forced proximity✨. I know Sara was going for vibes with this book, but my fave tropes were troping. The spice in this book was so good too. Like good scenes and no awkward like transitions or uses of cringy words. Like SO good. The office scene will forever live in my head with her sassy ponytail. AND THE TEXTS!!!! I love flirty banter texts.

“Because being a positive influence on someone's life means I have a positive influence on the world, Mr. Ash-ford. And I find that very fulfilling."

"Yeah, no. There's no way in hell i'm letting you drive." "Did you just say 'yeah, no'?" she asks incredulously. "I think it's a northerner thing."
"What?" '''Yeah, no' means definitely not. 'No, yeah' means of course. And the best one is
'Oh, yeah, no, for sure, which means absolutely yes."

I love a noisy man.

Everybody stop what you are doing and READ THIS BOOK

When I tell you I gobbled up this book like a turkey on thanksgiving!!! It was sweet and wholesome and still had a depth to it that surprised me.

This book had miscommunication in it which I normally don’t like, but it was SO well written and handled, that it was actually enjoyable to read.

I genuinely loved the plot of this book and can already see myself re-reading this in the future. The race at the start had me smiling and picturing exactly what was happening, and the epilogue had me shedding a couple of tears!!!

Overall, so so impressed and loved every bit of this!

I was delighted to receive this book as an ARC - I really appreciate that authors do this and allow excitable readers to get lost in their worlds before the rest of the world. And this book sucked me in and kept me there until the last words!

I am amazed this is a debut novel from this author! It is so wonderfully written - fun, charming, heart-warming, emotional. I want to use all the words. It took me on a journey and made me feel feels. I am not the most eloquent with reviews, I mostly gush about things in an abstract and personal way, but that's why I love reading.

I am not a runner. My husband is, and so I could immediately connect to the running element of this book. I found this so fun, and accurate! Do I want to run after reading this book - maybe. Do I want to run an buy this book for myself so I can read it again? Absolutely!

Ok, the meet cute, instalove, hard feels of the main characters was just adorable. The author does an amazing set up job. I swooned and whooped and sighed with happiness as these two set out their foundations.

And then more feels as the story progresses and life happens. Yes, it's instalove, but the book spans a few years and they're years with pining and heartache, and a fairly accurate description (to me anyway) of dealing with hard times in life. I felt a lot when reading this book, but never too much. The author did a great job.

I loved that there was no third act break up. Third act spice on the other hand... ;) I also loved that there was no immaturity with the characters; conversations were had, miscommunication/misunderstanding dealt with quickly - it was like adults, adulting well. And Paige, the FMC, stands up for herself on more than one occasion, but also knows when to accept help.

I'm sad I have finished this book. And amazed I could write so much while holding so much back to avoid all the spoilers. But again, amazing. Just read it - even if you don't run and might feel you'll miss something because you can't connect with that element - there are enough side characters in this to love (if you don't fall in love with Paige and Adam immediately).

Anything Sara Clement writes, I'll be reading!

Happy Pub Day @authorsaraclement

A Running Romance?! I was sold immediately. Paige and Adam’s story from the start was amazing; who doesn’t love a good meet cute ?!

This story had so much more depth than just the first meet. Paige, FMC is dealing with trauma as she grieves the loss of her parents. Adam, MMC struggles to have a good relationship with his dad.

The mental health representation was done so well and my heart was so happy with the growth they both made in the story. I absolutely loved getting to know both main characters, their families and obviously Adam and Paige’s love for running. (and can we talk about Paige during family dinner with Adams dad and the epilogue). Chills, happy tears.. gah my heart was SWELLING!!!!😭

I absolutely loved this book so much. It was the fresh of breath air that I needed. I smiled, laughed and even cried. The ending made my heart so dang happy.

I’ll be buying this book for my running friends who love to read for Christmas. This is a MUST read for all, but runners… you’ll appreciate it just a little more😉

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A huge thank you to for the EARC and the opportunity to read this before release day!

I picked this book up after joking to my boyfriend that “ultramarathons aren’t sexy,” and he bet me someone out there had written a romance about them. A quick Google search later… he proved me wrong, and he even bought the book for me as a joke.

And then I loved it. Truly loved it. We had no idea it was written by a Canadian author, let alone that it would end up being set in Vancouver- my home.

As a runner, a hockey fan, and someone who struggles with similar anxiety to the main character, this story felt incredibly personal. I even went through my own “move to Vancouver for a new job” era, so following her journey hit even closer to home.

My only critique is that the ending veers off-plot a little to make room for sex scenes that were lacking earlier in the book, as well as a few loose-end tie-ups. I think those moments could have been woven into earlier chapters a bit more smoothly. But honestly? I was so invested that I didn’t mind. The full-circle ultramarathon ending was worth it.

What can I say!! First I read this as an ARC reader, but I would buy it in a heartbeat to read the moment it’s out! (And I will be! I need my book trophy to display its beauty) second, it was an amazing debut novel by Sara Clement. To think this is her debut is insane, because it was perfect! She weaves a fun story with rich characters that you fall in love with immediately!

I read through it in a day and it was everything I hoped for and more! The connection between Paige and Adam was strong and intoxicating, making me want to know how it ended immediately (and for some one who doesn’t mind spoilers and googles them I was on edge because I couldn’t) When I say I gasped at some points. I MEAN I GASPED SO LOUD MY HUSBAND THOUGHT I WAS HURT! SYATFL will keep you wanting more in the best way! It has is a beautiful story that is filled with, witty banter, steamy tension, relatable characters, and some very well written 🌶️ scenes that only added to it!

I am telling you! Sprint to get this on November 5th! I repeat sprint, do not run, SPRINT! Okay maybe too much 🙃 but seriously read it! 🤗

Thank you to the author for sending me this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Two runners meet at the starting line of an ultramarathon & sparks fly…sign me up! I didn’t need to know the rest of the plot to already know I wanted to read this one. Sara Clement does an incredible job representing the mind of a runner, a woman who anxiety, complicated parent/child relationships, some steamy spicy scenes & kept the plot rolling, holding my interest solidly throughly & keeping me wondering what would happen next. I genuinely enjoyed this one & highlighted so many sections that made me legitimately laugh out loud. Sara writes with vigor & a clear passion for bringing her characters off the page.

Definitely check this one out when it releases on 11/5/24!

Impressive debut novel with a new element that I haven't read about before – running. This was well-written with a good mix of witty, charming, and emotional characters. An insta-love/meet-cute that turns into a slow burn, and their witty banter and dynamic from the beginning was amazing. Adam was so sweet and cute from the get-go, and Paige was so strong throughout everything she had to overcome. Loved the MCs journeys with running and how it was explained why it was so important in their lives and how sometimes, the things you love may become triggers. Great side characters and family dynamics, and I can't wait to read the next book!

Thank you Sara, for sending me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

There is nothing anyone could do that would warrant an IOU that could be redeemed by me participating in an ultramarathon with them...but I'm so glad Adam of British Columbia agreed because if he hadn't, he wouldn't have met the love of his life - Paige of Utah.

This book was the wildest of rollercoasters with a twist I did not see coming near the start but love is a marathon (*takes a bow for that excellent pun*) and so much good stuff! This book put me through the emotional ringer and I was so interested in seeing what happened next that I read it all in one sitting! Adam's relationship with his sister was super relatable and I loved Leah and Shay...really Sara just wrote excellent female characters all over the place! This is book 1 so maybe we'll get lucky and see more of some of them...🤔

Thank you Sara for the ARC

What a cute and heartwarming romance all about second chances, emotional healing, and finding your person! I absolutely loved Adam’s Canadian references (being Canadian myself, I totally related!) and it was so refreshing to see a romance between an American and a Canadian. Paige’s struggle with buying presents had me cracking up! Her character was my favorite—so relatable and full of charm. The message about life happening and how we adapt really hit home. This story was sweet, funny, and full of heart.

This was the debut novel from this author and I was so, so pumped for it after getting an Instagram ad.

This book is one big miscommunication trope which normally I hate, but I really did like this book overall. I was unbelievably frustrated at certain points though. Like just say how you feel!!! Be adults!!! But I digress.

Paige and Adam are both very likable and relatable MCs. It was cool to get a glimpse into the world of long distance running (an ultramarathon sounds terrifying). This side characters were great, as well. I would love a Mateo book or Shay book next 👀👀👀

Overall, a cute romcom with good open door spice.

This book was magic! It hooked me from the beginning and although I did have to pause at one point because it broke my heart for a bit, I still couldn’t put it down. Both main characters were well written and the details written in were well done! I got Abby Jimenez vibes from this book and I’m so excited to read the other book in this series! I highly recommend this book for fellow rom com lovers! Also, this will speak to how good this book is - I hate running, have only ran when I had to (gym class, a bee chasing me, etc) but this book almost made me want to put on my runners and go for a jog/run!!
