April Martin is a mother, military spouse, and teacher. While teaching her first grade class she wanted to create a fun way to teach her students about the months of the year... that’s where her very own name gave her an idea! She realized she could create characters named after the months of the year that her students could know and love. Time went by, LOTS of time, but her characters were still in her thoughts. Now, a mother herself, she wanted to finally bring the Calendar Kids® to life. April knew all along the vision she had for her books and began to learn everything she could about writing and illustrating. April is a self-taught illustrator and always encourages others to explore new creative outlets. You never know, you could be just MONTHS away from creating something amazing!

August is not wrong!

August surprisingly doesn't like a very big part of the summer, the heat! I so agree, and sweating makes it even worse. This book sums up the end of summer and beginning of the school year perfectly, making it a great book for littles to read before school to help with their nerves.

Part of the Calendar Kids series.
August is excited for summer days and relaxing fun. But, he also sweats a lot on hot days. This happens on the first day of school and his friends July and September take care of him. This entire series weaves facts about the months into the stories of these kids.

Awesome

What a neat way to show children the difference months and things that are done within them. Hope the author does holidays also, that would be fun.

Good reads

Good read to welcome the new month. My 4th-grade students love the books, and they also get to practice reading skills.
