"חוסר הבנה לעומק של הדינמיקה ההיסטורית בה לכודה ישראל איפשר לאויבינו להפתיע אותנו בפעם השנייה בתולדותינו", טוען דרור. לדעתו, סיבותיו העיקריות של המשבר הנוכחי הן חוסר איזון בין השאיפה לשלוט ביהודה ושומרון לבין העוצמה האמיתית של ישראל, והניסיון – שנועד להיכשל – לפצות על הגירעון בעוצמה באמצעות ציפייה ל"עזרת השם", הנוגדת את עיקרי היהדות.

יום המחר: אסטרטגיה רבתי לישראל מבוסס, בין היתר, על היכרות מעמיקה של מחברו עם מאפיינים רבים של מערכת הביטחון הישראלית. הוא מציע תיקונים מבניים, מהותיים וחשיבתיים במערכת, שאותם יש ליישם ללא דיחוי, כי בנפשנו הדבר.
