The book of Habakkuk is such a tiny book in the Bible. It has not been given much attention, but it is timely with everything happening in the Globe! The study book could have better, less repetitive guiding questions, but it was very encouraging overall
My journey into Habakkuk began with a podcast called “Two sisters and a cup of tea”, which was recommended in a book that I read recently. They discuss Habakkuk in season 1. I then started reading the book repeatedly and listening in different translations. At first, it seemed complicated and hard to understand but over time it became clearer as I continued to pray and read.
It was a joy to discover precious truths about God in Habakkuk. It was also so helpful to draw encouragement from it and learn to trust God with whatever he brings into my life. This study was such a lovely companion in that journey. The devotional reading is exceptional and the questions were helpful in observing, interpreting, and applying the text.
I also listened to Nancy D. Wolgemuth’s teaching on Habakkuk via You Tube and that was a huge blessing as well.
Such a wonderful book of the Bible that I wish I had studied sooner. Now I want to study all of the minor prophets!
At times, I feel like I’m living ‘in a Habakkuk world’.. with so much injustice, evil, and corruption.
Satan’s small wins in this world are fleeting while God’s eternal plan is an everlasting victory.
“Neither the Babylonian’s rebellion, nor Satan’s schemes can stand against Him.” I cherish this sentence because it reminds me that NOTHING can destroy God’s promises or plans.
God promises judgment and nobody can escape His righteousness. We are not called to this kind of work, so we can rest in Him while He takes care of the rest. I love that in times of devastating despair and feeling all hope is lost, Habakkuk leans on God fully “revive, reveal, remember”… and God answers. 🤍
While it’s hard to give any Bible study a less than stellar grade, I believe this one deserves a 3star rating simply due to repetition. There are lots of helpful thoughts and verses. This is a very short book of the Bible and the questions at the end of each day are so repetitive that I got bored with answering them.
This study was so relevant to how I have been feeling towards society and our nation today. I am thankful for the words of Habakkuk and the daily grace co. for reminding me to change my “WHAT IF” to “EVEN IF!” God is still good!
I have never really spent time in The Old Testament. This was so easy to read and had so much information yet not a lot of work. It’s great for all ages from teens to older adults. It’s a nice reminder that Habakuk even asked God WHY!
