After an intense one-night stand, Lauren and Aiden have avoided each other as much as they could in a small town. But now that their best friends are getting married, their forced time together brings out the worst in them both. When their bickering threatens to ruin the bachelor/bachelorette trip, they agree to chase every insult with a shot and end up getting along a little too well. Will an unintended souvenir inspire these enemies to build a life together beyond their wildest dreams or force Lauren to leave Peace Falls and everyone she loves behind?
For You I’d Bloom is an enemies-to-lovers romance with an accidental pregnancy, a cast of quirky characters, and a trio of cats who know how to bring the drama.
Hannah grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia but wound up in South Jersey after falling in love with her complete opposite. She's got all the degrees of a "serious" fiction writer but only smiles when she's writing romance. She lives with her husband and two daughters in a picturesque town outside of Philadelphia where she enjoys reading in all genres, especially the spicy ones, and confusing people with her half-Southern-half-Northern accent.
Lauren lived in foster care, and it taught her everything: to focus on what she can control and not give a flip about what other people do. The best revenge has always been a great life. And her life was great. She loved being part of a tight-knit community. Her coffee shop/bookstore, appropriately named Karma, was thriving. She had wonderful friends and two adorable cats who kept her warm at night, plus a third she’d eventually convince to love her. He pushed a mop through the area behind the register where he’d dropped a pot of dark roast, smearing coffee and broken glass everywhere.
Wyatt wasn’t normally agitated unless his blood sugar was off. She grabbed his hands and looked him in the eyes. His palms were sweaty, which instantly made her anxious. “Do you need to eat something?” He shook his head. “I’m fine. Just clumsy.” His complexion didn’t look off, or she’d have made him check his blood sugar. Lauren never met her grandpa before he pulled her out of foster care. To this day, she doesn't know if the state found him or if her mom realized she’d never get her sh-t together, and asked her estranged father to step in.
At the beginning, during the uneasy weeks her Grandpa and she lived together. Lauren spent most of her time in the bookshop, reading. Neither of them wanted to talk about her mom or her life before she came to Peace Falls. So they talked about books. Books they’d both read. Books they recommended to each other. Their little book club of two lasted until he passed away. A year after she graduated from high school. No matter how many times she walked through the shelves, it felt like stepping into paradise. She spent most of her time in the bookshop, reading.
When she took over the store, she removed the cards, and glossy magazines to make room for the coffee bar. It now accounted for seventy percent of her profits. She’d crammed in as many tables and chairs as she could, but judging by how fast they filled, it wasn’t enough. She would probably make more money if she removed a few bookshelves.
Then, if she expanded the café menu and seating, she couldn’t bring herself to make any more changes to the shop. Most of the comfy leather seating scattered between the bookshelves had been in the store for years. Grandpa was a hipster before his time and had fully embraced the exposed brick trend decades before it became popular. “Aiden offered me a job.” “You’re quitting?” Karma was paying me back. Why else would a meathead like Aiden O’Malley be super-glued in my life to wreck it every chance he could? Her singular night with Aiden happened right out of high school.
She wasn’t yet skilled in the art of the one-night stand. Things have remained weird between them ever since. To make matters worse, Aiden was best friends with Cal, her best friend Rowan’s fiancé. So of course they’re thrown together all the time. Once Cal’s other best friend, Theo, started dating Rowan’s sister, Poppy, Aiden and Lauren became a default pairing in their group of six. Fortunately, Cammie was coming on this weekend’s bachelor/bachelorette trip. At least there’d be a buffer between Aiden and her.
Wyatt shuffled from one Chuck to the other. “I’d rather you raise the prices, hire someone at my current rate, and give yourself some time off.” Wyatt wasn’t wrong. They desperately needed more employees. She rarely had over five hours of sleep a night. As much as she hated to admit it, she was burning out. “Plus, I need the health insurance.” “I thought you were on the college’s plan.” He shook his head. “I lost coverage when I became a part-time student. My COBRA is about to run out.” Damn it. No way could she offer him health insurance.
She could barely cover her own premiums, and as a diabetic, Wyatt needed coverage. Lauren had plenty of irritation with Aiden. If she couldn't have Wyatt full-time, keeping him with fewer hours was better than not at all. “It’s a great opportunity for you.” Wyatt had to take it. But now she needed to stay behind on the trip because she needed to hire someone. So she called the girls. It did fly. Without her knowing she bought non-refundable airline tickets. Packed for her and scheduled all the interviews, so that Cammie could interview them.
Guess who was going but was now sharing a bungalow with Aiden? You got it, Lauren. Yup! Because Cammie was not there to buddy up with. Loved it!
Another great small-town romance exploring themes of trust. 'For You I'd Bloom' is a satisfying read.
We pick up where For You I'd Bloom left off with the group preparing to go on a joint bachelor-bachelorette trip for Rowan and Cal's upcoming wedding, however, Aiden has just poached Lauren's only full time employ at her coffee shop. This causes tensions withing the group but they are quickly resolved. After a drunken hook up between Aiden and Lauren, we jump ahead to the wedding just after Lauren has learned that she is pregnant. Lauren tries her best to deal with everything on her own, lacking trust in the people around her but especially in Aiden as a result of her upbringing. Once Aiden finds out about the pregnancy he tries his best to prove himself and convince Lauren that even if she can't be a parent, he can.
Out of the three stories in this series, this one's conflict feels the most manufactured. Lauren's insistence on giving the baby up for adoption and Aiden's fear of pushing her away result in a pretty lackluster feeling chase between the two. Aiden's motivations are very clear, he has a huge family and loves all of his nieces and nephews. Lauren's reasoning behind wanting to give the baby up, however, isn't nearly as clear. She has a deep distrust in men in general as a result of watching her mother's boyfriends as she was growing up. She also believes that she will be a bad mother because her mother was. This doesn't feel as substantial as Aiden's reasoning because Lauren has been established in the previous books as an integral part of the community in this small town. It is even established early on in this book that she is good with kids.
Despite the somewhat weak conflict, Lauren and Aiden's relationship development over the course of the story is great! There is also a satisfying amount of the previous characters throughout the story since they help Aiden and Lauren with many things, including their relationship.
I definitely recommend this spicy romance! I can't wait to read the next installment!
I received an advance review copy for free from Reedsy Discovery, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the 3rd book in this series. It is best if you read the books in order. I have enjoyed this series so far. I believe it was originally planned to be a trilogy but have heard the author is planning new books set in the town of Peace Falls. In this book we get Aiden and Lauren's story. Aiden was the 3rd friend who was in the car accident that killed Logan (along with Cal, book 1 and Theo, book 2). Lauren was Rowan's best friend in school. Both Lauren and Aiden have a reputation for one night stands. It turns out, they had a one night stand years ago that neither of them could forget. While on a bachelor/bachelorette trip for Rowan and Cal, Lauren and Aiden again have a one night stand. After returning home, things go back to normal until Lauren gets sick over the smell of coffee and discovers she is pregnant. Lauren wants to give the baby up for adoption, but Aiden wants to keep it. Will they be able to work out their differences and admit their feelings not only for each other but for the baby? Will they both be able to acknowledge their past problems enough to be able to move on with their future?
Unsurprisingly, “For You I’d Bloom” is the third hard-to-put-down installment in Hannah Jordan’s captivating Peace Falls series. In this book, Jordan beautifully unfolds the tumultuous yet undeniable love story of Lauren and Aiden, our main characters, who are each so deeply complex and unquestionably alluring. You will feel all the emotions as you follow along on this enemies-to-lovers journey, complete with humor, pain, anger, joy (happy tears in my case!), and of course lots of spice! Jordan, as we’ve come to know and love from Books 1 and 2, has a real talent for exquisitely weaving her characters’ stories and lives together in a way that is both riveting and relatable. We are also lucky enough to once again be enveloped in the warmth and comfort of the familiar and charming cast of supporting characters in Peace Falls. I truly enjoy Hannah Jordan’s storytelling so much, I don’t want to ever leave Peace Falls!
This is a beautiful complex story and not a simple fluffy ice-cream read. Not going to lie, I am normally an ice cream reader. I love feeling, don't mind complexities, but I like to like the characters I read about and several times during this read, I hated the FMC. That in itself shows how skilled this author is. As a reader, I watched the FMC grow and realise she could be the person others saw her to be. For me, this is a 4, maybe even a 4.5star read. I can't honestly give it 5, as there were moments I feel could have still allowed me to like the FMC whilst maintaining understanding her motivation. I'd absolutely read more of this authors books and would recommend to anyone looking for a more complex love story with characters who suffer before finding their way
FOR YOU I'D BLOOM is as emotionally intense as you might expect, especially considering the involvement of Lauren and Aiden. Both characters carry a lot of emotional baggage, and Lauren's walls are nearly impenetrable. It may seem that their relationship is doomed from the start, but there's a surprising twist that could change everything for them. Watching their interactions feels like riding a roller coaster, with thrilling highs and stomach-churning lows. All the strong feelings their story evokes, both heart-wrenching and heartwarming, will ensure you remain thoroughly engaged from beginning to end. It’s another wonderful Peace Falls tale that will leave you hungering for more stories yet to come.
For You I’d Bloom is the third book in Hannah Jordan’s romantic Peace Falls series. I have devoured each novel. Jordan has created a group of friends, pulled together by shared history and tragedy, that I have grown to love. Each character has unresolved issues to overcome before being able to love and be loved. For You I’d Bloom focuses on Lauren and Aiden. Jordan has a fresh approach to their enemies-to-lovers relationship, and as with her other books in the series, the steam is perfectly written. I highly recommend this series, and I anticipate the next novel.
For You I'd Bloom by Hannah Jordan is book 3 in the Peace Falls series. This is the first book I have read from the series and it did not disappoint. I had a hard time going to bed as I wanted to continue to read, I was invested. The book has it all in the emotions department. I am now going to have to go and read the first 2 book in the series. This is a must read.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was my favorite book in the series! Aiden was so sweet and rugged all at once, and Lauren's character growth was powerful but realistic. I loved the characters as individuals, and their chemistry together jumped off the page. Such a great story that I didn't want to put down!.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I think this is my favorite out of the 3 there both strong characters and she’s so stubborn in her way but that’s because of her upbringing His got an attitude plays the big guy but deep down he struggles with the death of his best friend that he blames himself for The thing they have in common but Lauren wot show it is there crazy about each other
I loved this book. I love these characters, I loved this plot. I never want to leave Peace Falls when I fall into these books. I giggled, cried, and felt my heart grow. This book, and series, is an absolute yes.
I have about as much self-control with this series as I do with a box of chocolates; I’ve devoured each book. I didn’t think it could get better than Poppy and Theo – but Lauren and Aiden’s love story melted my heart. Jordan just has a talent for bringing her characters together.
I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others, it felt quite predictable and there were parts where it felt tired. Happy that they got there in the end, but I had hoped they'd have a little more along the way.
I tried! I read the Book 1 and 2 and loved them both, but this one just got on my freaking nerves. Lauren was so childish. The way she treated Aiden was ... I don't even have words. I wish I could put myself in the book and b*tch slap the crap out of her.
This was a frustrating book from the start, this couple have been fighting their attraction in the first two books and then have loops and she is pregnant. Then you learn her reasons for not thinking she is worthy of love and happiness.
Enjoyed reading Aiden and Lauren’s book! After an intense one-night that got more than either of them had expected. Aiden a cinnamon roll that falls first and Lauren has a past that keeps her from trusting easily. This was a fabulous enemies to lovers romance! A Must Read!
Loved the enemies to lovers story. I've loved all the characters in this series and am so glad to have closure for Lauren and Aiden. Cannot wait for the 4th book of the series.
