Why I Am Me: Surviving Grief And Trauma

Rate this book
I am a first time author and this book was created from a journal I worked on for 14 years. It was suggested by my counselor to write it in a chronological way to keep track and deal with hurts, abandonment, bullying and death. I wanted other people in similar situations to benefit from my loss and trauma that has been such a big part of my life. I am a Christian and was led to share my experiences and my downfalls with you. I am not perfect as you will see and I did not always feel close to God but God loves an imperfect person and you can see that as well. I hope that through my experiences you can see that life can get better with God, and a lot of work.

I think it takes quite a level of bravery to write an honest account of one's life, especially when it comes to episodes you might not be too eager to share with just anyone. The author, Danielle, does just that in this book, making a sincere attempt to come to terms with the traumas of their past. As such they are to be admired, especially when opting to share their struggles with others who may be struggling too. I'd recommend this book to anyone struggling to make sense of things pertaining to bereavement, abuse, loss etc, and I hope it touches their hearts as it did mine.
