I am absolutely blown away by this series. This was a new to me author and I was hooked right away!! I loved how this plot unfolded and all my questions got answered in the right moments. If you're looking for something unique and not the typical norm, then I cannot recommend this series enough!!
Well, I would give it one star because of the utter disappointment, but I think if I hadn't hoped for greatness, I'd have given it two. So two it is. There were consequences in the previous book that this book undid. I hate that. I'm not sure why authors have taken this road where no one stays dead when they die. It made everything meaningless. Once Julien showed up, I was done. I lost interest and then just read it to get to the end. Noa did not grow. She did everything the same as she always did. Rushed into everything and ruined everything, but suffered nothing for it. She has an arrogance she hasn't earned, and I hated her by the end.
The motives of this story never fully established into any kind of sense. And I stand by my initial thoughts of the first book. Pretty sure this was an acid trip.
The romance never matured, either. Grayson and Noa are not a convincing couple. They never formed a team. Noa always worked against him and did things her way without compromising, even though she was inexperienced. I couldn't get over that.
There was a lot of useless filler that amounted to nothing. Like bringing up an ex lover for Grayson, who had never been mentioned before. Her presence added nothing to the story except unnecessary length. Bringing back Julien also added nothing to the story. Brin added nothing to the story. The final meeting with Amal was anticlimactic, and I'm left wondering what the point was in this story at all. I gained nothing from it but disappointment.
What a book!! Edge of your seat stuff. Constant movement of the story. Never a dull moment, this third instalment did not disappoint. A very satisfying ending that thankfully gave space and time to all the characters. So well written and woven.
A complex, intense and riveting conclusion to a complex, intense and riveting series!! As a longtime UF reader, I must say this is one of my all time favorites. I can't think of world building that is better than this. Different offshoots of the primary location are unique, fascinating and unlike any I've read. The primary characters are so compelling and they had a great evolution to their stormy relationship. A large cast of superb side characters - all with their own challenges that could rate their own series! The whole gamut of UF characters is included - a difficult thing to do, IMHO. The story arc is complex, unique and is more intricate than most UF series I've read.
The writing is excellent. Beautiful. She made it easy to visualize the beauty of the land they lived in, the characters, and the destruction and battles that occurred. The conclusion is incredibally intense. I wasn't sure whether there was going to be a "happy" or "sad" ending.
I can't say enough good things about this wonderful series!! Thank you, Sue Wilder, for your wild and inventive mind!!
excellent series, a heroine growing in emotional strength and vigor
It takes a village. Each individual character in the series plays a part in ending evil. The heroine Noa grows in strength, understanding, compassion and love. Her personality built bridges between entities. She didn’t give up and uses all her strengths emotionally and intellectually . Greyson the dread lord alpha of his pack is stoic, compassionate and protective. Willing to die to protect those he loves. At times the cruelty is hard to read. I’m a sensitive reader so others may be ok. Spoiler ( none of the important people die. ) For me that was important.
I loved this story. But...like many recent books, especially available on Kindle unlimited, it has its share of misused homonyms, misspellings, etc. I've been assuming that to reduce production costs, new authors selling on the cheap are using AI or just plain spellchecker which misses a lot. That being Saud, I guess this is the price a reader pays for an inexpensive read. Great story, though in this trilogy.
This was a really good series, one I really enjoyed. I owe some people a thank you. If it hadn't been for their actions, I never would have found this.
Funny how that happens sometimes, eh. LOL!
If you're looking for something a little different, just a little bit, in a shifter story, pick this series up. I don't know if the bits and pieces of folklore and mythology are real or just fantasy, they help connect everything together.
Whew lawd this last one in the series, gives you a roller coaster ride! Finally, you really see the sexy interaction between the main characters and it gets more action packed within the plot! I couldn't put it down, even being sick with the crud!! The HEA is everything I hoped it would be!! I loved all of the characters in the series and their relationships between all of them in one capacity or another!! Totally worth reading this trilogy!
The Blood Queen is an amazing finale for this series. I urge you to run, not walk, to experience the Sentinel Falls Trilogy. I devoured the 3 books in 2 days. Good vs evil, morally grey actions necessitated for justice, a love story of fated mates that will stay in your heart, and plot twists that will make you have to hold on for dear life. Treat yourself. Experienced these books, the magic of Sue Wilder.
As with the first 2 novels in this series, this just left me wanting. I wanted more personality from the characters. I felt little bits and pieces could've been wrapped up better for some of the side characters events. I felt the big moment was a little anticlimactic. Maybe that's because a lot of what I read is similar. This story wasn't bad. It just didn't connect with me.
Noa and Grayson understand what's being asked of them to right the wrong of the past. While they would love to take the easy way out that's not who they are. I loved the past coming to the future to correct itself. Wish there was a book into the future to see their world settled again.
At the start of Bk One I thought this would be a "run of the mill" Shifter novel. Wrong. I found myself invested in the characters and settings and caring about their fates. I found the books well crafted, with varied players. For those who enjoy magic, other worlds and using their imagination.
The perfect ending to the Sentinel Falls Trilogoy. This book and series made my audibly gasp, cry, and laugh as it's twists and turns brought us the perfect ending. I wanted to both devour and savor this book. I had to know what happened next but I was sad that I'd never be able to read it for the first time again!
This book wraps up the trilogy breathtakingly. I was so gripped by this, I could barely turn my eyes away. It could have gone either way at the end, so I was fully prepared for anything. It ended so perfectly. I recommend this book to any fantasy fans, with its elements of both Urban and High Fantasy. The whole trilogy is wonderful.
Enjoyed it but was between 3 and 4 stars in this one. 3 won. The main reason is that I did not stay captivated by this book. While it was good, there was a lot of stuff that could have been streamlined and could have made me stay on the edge of my seat. Still enjoyable, but not worth 4 stars
I started the first book and then quickly devoured all 3 of them within 2 1/2 days. I was obsessed with these books. I would love to see more in this world that Ms. Wilder created for sure. Don’t listen to the negative people these books are worth reading.
Book 1 was okay, interesting but not outstanding. Book 2, really good and I definitely wanted the 3rd. Book 3, twists and turns that leads to the most surprising ending. I love that ending. Everything. Sadness and angst are worth it.
Well-developed characters, a complex story, and beautiful writing. I highly recommend this series. It was worth every minute of sleep I gave up to keep reading. Thank you, Sue, for such a thrilling ride.
Characters beautifully crafted, a story that is complex, two main characters that will burn the world for each other and a big bad to defeat. Read this!
