The artwork was great.

This book is a good history lesson. Most is stuff already known about the colonists' feelings about taxation without representation and their boycott response to it.

But then the ladies make their declaration and the book is over. So then what?

What was the outcome of this? How did it have any impact? The description on the back says the ladies' courage still resonates today. How? There's no indication anyone gave a crap about their declaration so how does it resonate today?

The author also says in the afterword that they were putting their safety on the line. That's a big HOOOOOOOOW? There was nothing in the book to show that speaking out put anyone in danger. Who would these ladies have been afraid of? Their husbands? Men on the street? Seriously who? Don't make stupid statements with such hyperbole without something to back it up. If there was an actual danger to what they did, why would that not have been included in the story? As it stands it just seemed like this was something these ladies did one day and then went about their daily business- not that they then had to walk with one eye over their shoulder.
