ICU II: The Awakening

Rate this book
A mother always protects her children... but what if she can't protect herself?

Bonita Gray's life has already been shattered once, but the pieces are far from being put back together. After surviving a near-fatal accident and waking up from a three-year coma, Bonita returns to a world that has moved on without her.

As she struggles to reclaim her life and reconnect with her sons, Bonita discovers that the nightmare is far from over. Her son Jason is behind bars for a crime she knows he didn't commit, while her other son Justice harbors secrets that could tear the family apart once more.

As Bonita navigates the treacherous path of rediscovered memories and hidden truths, she finds herself in a race against time. Can she unravel the mystery before it's too late, or will she be forced to make an impossible choice once again?

When the past and present collide, Bonita must confront the unimaginable. What... will... she... do?

3.5 ⭐️
There are 3 parts to the overall story and this short story is just part 2. Parts 1 & 2 end on a cliffhanger much like they do in comics, making you eager for the next issue to be released. I would've preferred that all parts were bound together to make one book instead of having to download and read them separately, but I read all 3 parts in one sitting so it still kinda read like a regular short story with a brief intermission lol I'm rating all 3 together as one short story.

1️⃣ Part 1 is hard to rate on its own since not a lot really happens until the end.
2️⃣ Part 2 has a lot more going on, and is a very quick read.
3️⃣ Part 3 ends pretty abruptly, and I would've liked to have had something a little tidier.
✅️ Overall though, not a bad little story, and the lesson is to never trust twins! Lol I fully support indie authors, and I would read other writings from this one.

nice quick read

Second part of these books and I enjoyed reading it! Only reason for the 4 star is I pretty much had it figured out way before the ending. Other than that it is a must read in my opinion!

So I was right. The drama starts here. Now, the mom is in a predicament. While trying to heal herself she must figure out her children’s lives and herself.

Predictable

I am still waiting for the suspense and excitement. So far, the second book was better than the first but extremely predictable.
